La Fonda on the Plaza - Santa Fé

La Fonda was a quaint hotel with very friendly service. The room was clean but rustic with an uncomfortable mattress. Location was superb.

What a great location, you can walk everywhere from here. Roof top lounge was had a beautiful view of the surrounding area. the only draw back was the food and drinks were pricey. We were upgraded to a suite which made up for the pricey food. We were put into the "doggie wing" so check first where your room will be located.

We are looking forward to our next visit. Charming old hotel, lovely public spaces,restaurant under skylights with good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.Friendly, courteous service through out the hotel. Walking distance to everything. Don't miss seeing the sunsets on the fifth floor patio.

Wonderful hotel. Wish we had more time to spend there. Room was clean and comfortable. Sitting by the fireplace in the lobby with a margarita was very relaxing. Would go back again. Steve from Wyncote, Pa.

expensive parking, clean hotel.

Superb Location in the heart of Santa Fe. Old world feeling with modern amenities. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good restaurants and bars in the hotel in addition to many others within walking distance.

La Fonda is a beautiful hotel. It is the true Santa Fe experience. A unique top quality hotel. Location was perfect!

La Fonda is located in a prime Santa Fe spot - you can't beat it. The only problem we had is that the rooms have paper thin walls - we could hear everything that our neighbors were doing day and night, which was not always a good thing, especially since we had our young children with us.

Fabulous weekend and the hotel was just perfect for walking and enjoying the Santa Fe Plaza. The Bell Tower was a great spot for cocktails between 2pm and Sunset, the view is wonderful. The French coffee shop and creperie was a fun place to start the day off.

An old historic hotel with all the modern updates but still maintains its own style and uniqueness. Very pleasant place right in the heart of downtown Santa Fe. We appreciated the very reasonable fee for parking.

Hotel is conveniently located Right across the square. Staff is friendly. Restaurant on premise is excellent and moderately Priced. Hotel is older so smelled a bit musty in the room but overall a Good value.

Very quaint & full of Santa Fe flavor. Good food in restaurant. Wonderful beds. Will plan to return.

Located adjacent to the historic square in Santa Fe, this is a quaint and beautiful hotel. Hotels.com only showed the least expensive rooms, the Traditional, as the hotel calls them. These are the older and tiny rooms with micro bathrooms (about 5' x 7'). I might have upgraded to a deluxe room if I had known about it. Lots of artwork and hand painted […] glass panes. We loved the charm and cultural excellence of La Fonda. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Also, located right in the heart of Santa Fe Plaza - a huge plus. We ate in their cafe downstairs, and it was excellent. My son had Santa Fe Wrap sandwich and I had Chili Rellano - yum! This hotel is absoulutly charming. From the outside to inside. My room was comfortable and charming. I enjoyed the small balcony overlooking the streets below. The staff at the parking garage tot he front dest were so helpful. I would absoulutly stay again.!!. My only negative is, the wait staff in the lounge could be more attentive.

Had a great time in Santa Fe, was a side trip on a dream road trip that I loved. The staff was fantastic, I'm hoping to bring my sisters back with me the next time.

We had a wonderful stay at La Fonda's on the plaza. The location was ideal for walking around and seeing the sites; the history of the facility was very interesting; the restaurant in La Fonda's was excellent and our room was very comfortable. The location could not be better to feel a part of old Santa Fe. Professional and polite staff. A feeling of old world warmth. Excellent vacation spot.

The location of this hotel in perfect if looking to spend some time walking around the historic downtown in Santa Fe. The restaurant in the Hotel is also great.

GREAT LOCATION, FOOD, ROOM AND SERVICE. PARKING LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED. BE SURE YOU HAVE A VERY SMALL VEHICLE.. MANY DOLLARS PER DAY PARKING IN HOTEL GARAGE. USE TO BE FREE IF YOU STAYED IN HOTEL.

The hotel is in a great location. It is an older facility with older furniture, etc. Beds and bedding very comfortable and nice. Very small bathroom. The hotel service was very friendly.

The hotel was listed as pet friendly, We travel with 2 medium sized, well behaved dogs, and a small parrot who lives in her cage. When I called to make the reservation, i asked about the bird and was told the bird could stay. While we checked in the bellman left the parrot in the noisy lobby and she got noisy. We were greeted at our room by the manager […] who informed us they had complaints about the bird already and we could not stay in the hotel if the noise continued. We were going to be thrown out! My wife and I were in shock. The pets have stayed with us in Fairmonts, Hiltons, Starwood, and many other fine hotels, and we have never had a complaint. We put the "Do Not Disturb" sign out but a maid knocked on our door anyway. This started the dogs barking for maybe 4 seconds. We received another threatening call from the manager. We did not even feel comfortable talking in our room. We could not recommend this hotel to people traveling with pets. Mehr

This wonderful hotel gives you the flavor of Santa Fe everywhere you look and the location couldn't be better right in the heart of downtown Santa Fe.

The location is good but needs to be updated. When I stayed, I couldn't accee to the internet. But the hotel kindly let me use their computer in their office and offered me the information I needed.

From the minute we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff...I would deffinitley reccomend this hotel.

Everything about my experience at La Fonda was excellent save for 2 factors. We had asked prior to our arrival that we have a crib in our room, and we had to ask on 3 separate occasions after we arrived to get the crib. Also the refrigerator in the room was not working when we arrived, so we had to get the hotel electrician to work on it. Other than […] this, the hotel was charming, and located conveniently in the Santa Fe plaza, near the city's famed row of indian artisans and The Shed restaurant. Our room was right next to the pool which allowed my wife and I to have fun there with the kids and the baby separately, while still in view of one another. The view from the steaming heated pool, up at the solid dark blue of the sky and a thin crescent moon, all cradled by the distinctive adobe architecture and with the music of St. Francis Asisi bells in the air was very spiritual! Took a detour to Santa Fe to get out of the snow storm and had a delightful stay at the La Fonda. It was the highlight of our holiday season. It was SO convenient to everything you need right there!

We enjoyed our stay at La Fonda and the location ensures that you are close to shopping and dining. We opted to have dinner in the hotel restaurant and would recommend it for the quality and convenience. We do not recommend the lounge where we experienced poor service. The waitress forgot that she had taken our order and over 30 minutes later she returned […] to take our order again. When we reminded her that she had already taken our order she went to check and brought us Nachos that were not edible. We asked to speak to the Manager who had a defensive attitude and tried to tell us the chips they use in the Nachos are different than their regular chips. We attempted to explain that the chips being different had nothing to do with the Nachos being burned but the Manager just became loud and defensive. I reported this to the Executive Management and they apologized. We will return to the hotel and restaurant but not the lounge. Mehr

rooms are ample, clean and originally decorated. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious. great coffee btw.

La Fonda is a great place to stay if it's you're first time in Santa Fe and/or you want to be walking distance to everything. I've stayed there three times now (each time it was someone in my party's first stay in Santa Fe). You pay a little more, but the place is decorated in History.
