Econo Lodge Moonlight Beach - Encinitas

The area is fantastic. A must see is Pannikin coffee house just north of hotel. Beach access is two blocks to stone steps. The room itself was average. A bit noisy at times but not bad. We would stay again. We were there five nights.

I was impressed how nice and clean the room was when i got the first look at it. And the bed was comfortable very impressed and I would stay here again!

nice location, very close to the beach. nice neighbourhood. the only negative thing is that they offer breakfast but there is no room where you can eat it, so you have to take it with you in your room. Definetely a good choice for a night or two to stay on the way of your trip.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very polite, pleasant, and helpful. The building is very near a train track, but the trains were pretty quiet. And luckily my wife and I enjoy trains going by! The building and the rooms are small, and there was no view from our window (except for the train). But because the room was so small, the AC […] did a good job of cooling it down quickly! If all you need is a modest place to spend the night, this place will do nicely. Mehr

I normally wouldn't choose an Econo Lodge to stay at but based on the reviews I hesitantly booked. I was satisfied in my choice. It was very conveniently located and the staff was very helpful with dining choices and directions. If you are expecting luxury go elsewhere. But if you want a reasonable price, clean motel and location this is it.

Our stay of 4 nights was fine overall. The management was very polite while trying to please. The rates were good for the area & type of hotel. The room was clean. Everything worked as expected. Hotel is close to the beach. Parking is limited at the beach but you can walk from the hotel. Location is good. Close to freeway. The town of Encinitas is close. […] Carlsbad is just North with Solano Beach to the South. All have nice beaches ect. We will stay there again. Mehr

Smaller hotel but very nice. Although check-in was till 3, i arrived about 1 and was able to check-in. Our particular room had vaulted ceilings which made the room feel larger than it was. (Not all rooms have vaulted ceilings). It was very clean upon arrival. It had a fridge which made it nice. The restroom was newly done so i think it was the nicest […] part of the room. It is by a train track, which didn't bother me at all. You will hear the train if you have a room facing the 101 with your window open. The breakfast choices are basic but if you're an individual who likes large amounts and variety, then you might need to eat out. I found the choices filling enough and was happy I didn't have to spend money eating breakfast. I like the location since the highway 101 will take you to legoland with a nice view on the way. If you head south you can take in more views all the way to mission bay/sea world but I would suggest having your navigation since I'm known to take a wrong turn here and there. Plenty of restaurants around the hotel to walk or take a short drive to. Mehr

The hotel was nicely located within a short distance to beach and short drive to town. Hotel was clean and comfortable with some unexpected pluses such as a microwave and refrigerator in room. would definetely stay again. Breakfast is the usual fare cereal, bagels, toast, juice, possibly some fruit but is over at 9:00 am promptly.

I didn't expect much from an Econo Lodge when I booked the room, but I completely changed my mind when we arrived. The manager was fantastic - attentive, friendly and helpful and full of information for us. The room was decent and clean, especially for the price. We had a problem with the shower right away but the manager himself came and fixed it the […] minute we called. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the morning and were very glad of the microwave and fridge by the second night. One huge bonus is how close this hotel is to Moonlight Beach, which we spent almost all our time at. Overall, this is one of the better hotels I've stayed at, and I would go back in a heartbeat, especially for such a low price. Mehr

Was in town for a work thing and needed just a place to lay my head. This hotel was perfect! Close to the beach so I could run before my meeting, a nice and clean room to sleep in, quiet neighborhood and really easy to find. Plus they had a nice breakfast in the morning. All in all a nice stay.

We have stayed here several times and find it to be in a great location. It is right on the coastal highway,but on the edge of a great neighborhood where we can access the wonderful beach at Encinitas. Just walk towards the ocean and you will find the stone steps that lead to the beach. One can walk down the beach to Moonlight Beach and the town of […] Encinitas. The hotel itself is very comfortable and clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. We walked to the center of town on the beach and back along the coastal highway. Mehr

Worth the money, recently remodeled, slept like a baby.

The manager, Gavin, was very helpful. The rooms comfortable and clean. We were very content with out accomodations.

We liked the fact the whole lodge is non smoking, good location, clean , easy parking, Great value for the money.l

Was okay- you pay for the location pretty much. Bare bones hotel- clean but with a weird air freshener smell.

This is a value hotel. It was clean, close to the beach, and cheap but it smelled like curry all day. The owners live on site and cook with curry. Other than that the stay was great.

For the price this hotel was great. The staff was not very helpful- I asked to have a room with 2 beds and they just flat said "no". The "breakfast" was very weak. Double check your door as it doesn't close all the way!! The pool is out on the busy corner, so we didn't use it. For a place where a bed was all that was needed, this was perfect. I wanted a hotel fairly close to the beach. This is fairly close, but it isn't a great beach. I wouldn't stay here for that reason. The room was OK, but check it out your room before you accept it. The first night we left the room for a while and came back and the door was ajar. Apparently they have trouble with the doors being hard to close. Also, […] I didn't turn on the A/C until about midnight. The unit in our room was extremely noisy. Couldn't sleep with it on. The next morning we changed rooms and everything was fine with that room. Very nice staff, clean rooms, really nice little beach getaway.

Personnel accueillant, hotel correct pas de grand luxe mais propre (malgré une odeur de curry dans le hall). Chambre grande et propre, attention, celles donnant sur la rue et la voie ferrée peuvent être bruyantes, proche de l'autoroute, de la plage et des restaurants. Ok pour quelques jours.
