Howard Johnson Inn-Six Flags - Austell

The atomsphere was great. The outter apperance could have been more appelling, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The walking accommodations were excellent.

the hotel clerk was very nice and friendly,but i didnt get a good feeling from the man that worked there,i dont know if he owned it or was the manager ,we requested the same room we had from last year so she accomadeted us,we got to the room but i didnt inspect the room well , because i was exausted and my stomach was hurting the next morning we left […] for 6 flags and was gone all day but the morning we were leaving to go home we started noticing how dirty the floor was and trash under the bed and in corners ,then he saw between the tv and fridge which didnt work, a pile of dog poop that looked like it had been there a few days,i know we didnt pay alot for the room , but GUEST INN,IF YOUR READING THIS PLEASE FIRE YOUR HOUSEKEEPER AND HIRE A BETTER ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!your ratings are getting worse from the rooms being so dirty.... The customer service at this hotel was great but the appearance was not as expected. The room was comfortable to stay in but the floor was not well sweep; the sink and bathtub was stained (not cleaned to the greatest); the smell of the room was not good so bought air freshner for the room. The phone in the room was not working (the cord was cut in half); […] the towels,washcloths and hand towels were dingy; the refrigerator was barely working, did not keep the drinks or food cold enough. The TV was a 19" which alot of the channels did not work but conveniently enough to entertain. the room was small and the blankets were not clean and bathtub was not well kept...I would not stay there again...But if you are wanting a place to just sleep than this would be a place to stay..And great location to six flags...we walked there that was the only reasson we stayed

The room was nice, and I was there due to the rotten ice storm. It did tear out the satellite system so there was little TV to relax with. However, after 4 hours on a stalled/shutting down highway I was so happy to get a nice room it was like paradise to me. The front desk was very nice and helped me with my luggage up the stairs as well.

Bathtub and toilet was filthy,,,,shower head was rusty, water came out brown..... Vending machines were broken, towels were not fluffy and fresh..... This would be a great hotel for prostitutes to take their customers

The place is a dump, but what do you expect for as cheap as it is? I didn't see any bugs that other people have complained about and the room at least looked clean, although I'd recommend shower shoes. The sheets left something to be desired as they were very worn in and my comforter had holes in it from what was possibly cigarette burns. Also, the […] hotel allows pets, but my German Shepherd dog escaped outta the room rather easily because all you hafta to to open the door is put a little pressure on the "lever" style handle and it pops right open. This hotel is very near Six Flags. It is also priced very cheaply and so you pretty much get what you expect. Its they kind of place that makes you check 3x to make sure you located your car door. Its the kind of room where you keep you socks on because you dont want your feet to come in bare contact with the floor. Its the kind of bed where you sleep […] with your clothes and dont get under the sheets because you know something is down there waiting for you. Its the kind of bathroom that makes you wonder why they water is constantly yellow. But hey, the heater worked well as did the cable tv and WiFi. :) Mehr

Although the hotel is old, if it were properly maintained, including being properly cleaned, then it would probably battract more guests and repeat guests too. Maintenance with cleanliness is a very big issue. However, for the convenience of getting to Six Flags, it is worth it if you wish to save some money and you are not easily troubled by having […] to rough it for a few days. Mehr

My hotel stay was not a pleasant one at Howard Johnson, because the toilet seat was broken, and it made a very loud noise when it was flushed,there were not enough towels in the room. When towels were requested, I was told there wouldn't be any more available until the next morning, which was on July 24. When I did ask for more towels, I never did get […] any. I got this room for the location, it is about a 10 min walk to the entrance of six flags. I saved money on parking, it was only $5 instead of $15. The air was horrible, it was hotter in the room then outside. You couldnt even cover up until around 4am when it finally cooled off. We got there at 8pm. When my husband and I arrived at the hotel we were told that the room was not ready, I understood chedk-in time was 2 pm, had we been on time, we would have had to wait 2 hours and 15 minutes for our room. The sheets did not fit the bed, my husband woke with the top sheet around his neck like a napkin, the bed was very uncomfortable. The snacl and drink […] machines did not work. They did have hot water and the room was clean. One of the workers used his pass key to try to get into our room while we were dressing, luckily we had the night latch on. When my husband said something to him he started laughing with another worker and said he was sorry. I went to the front desk and told the person on duty what happen, he said it was just a mistake, that this happen at the hotel, no one would steal anything out of a guest room, I never said he was trying to steal anything. I have worked at Howard Johnson and I know it ppolicy to knock before entering a room. After he saw the lock was on the door he was trying to look in the room. My husband and I was very upset about this. We will never book at this hotel again. Mehr

I booked the hotel because of Six Flags being located behind it. It was very convientent for us to walk over, leave the park for lunch to save money, and go back to the park. We stayed the whole weekend so we also enjoyed over things that were closer than expected. We went skating only one exit down on the interstate and there were two places to eat […] within walking distance and another just a quick jog across the interstate. Our AC did seem to go a little haywire during the night but it was ok since it was cold that weekend. I just prefer the air. It did seem to work after I turned it off for a while, though. I needed to save some money but in the end I learned "some corners should not be cut". Apon arrive my son found a roach. The bathroom smelled of urine. Paint was peeling off the walls. Sheets were to small for the beds and came off the mattres every time you moved. The mini frig did not work and even if it did you wouldn't have put anything in it for […] the smell of it. All in all I'd sum it up in two words..."crack hotel". (As seen in the movies) Next time I'll save money in some other fashion. The staff were friendly and the location to six flags was good. Mehr

minutes away from atlanta. 1 block away from six-flags. room was smaller than other howard-johnsons. But was big enough for me and my girlfriend for 3 days of fun at six-flags. breakfast was suffice, pool was clean and deep. front desk was nice and gave us great ideas and directions. shower was hot, bed was clean.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Very close to highway and short drive to downtown ATL TV didn't, work, beds were old and lumpy, place had a weird smell. But the rate was so low I shouldn't have been surprised

THE CLERK AT THE HOTEL UPON MY ARRIVAL WAS VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. THE HOTEL ROOM SMELLED LIKE SOMEONE HAD JUST SMOKED A WHOLE PACK OF CIGARETTES. WHENEVER HOUSEKEEPING CAME IN, THEY WOULD MAKE UP THE BEDS AND LEAVE CLEAN TOWELS, BUT DID NOT THROW AWAY EMPY SODA CANS OR ANY OTHER OBVIOUS TRASH THAT ON THE TABLE. The room was clean but could use some new bedding. The pool was refreshing but could use a good cleaning (it had a bad ring around the tub)but being next to Six Flags it was pretty convienient.Price was a little high for the condition. Staff was pleasant.

It was close to six flags however the comforters had holes on it, the bathroom door would lock and honestly even for the price you should have working door knobs and good comforters since they really don't have any other services that they offer to their guest.

The location was great for our visit to 6 flags. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean. The pool was clean. I have read some bad reviews but for the price we felt it was very nice and will be staying here again. If you expect a luxery motel then get a $200 a night place to stay. Was very uncomfortable with this hotel- the sheets and mattresses had stains, the room smelled- was very concerned with the cleanliness of this hotel. The surrounding neighborhood did not have the trash cleaned up at all in the 3 nights that we were there. The trash cans were overflowing and there was trash everywhere on our walk to Six Flags. For a hotel being so close to a MAJOR theme park, and all the revenue that it is recieving from people staying in it because of its location, it should have been better. The tub was stained, the bathroom door was broken, and it smelled sour. I loved the fact it was within walking distance of the park... but next time i will choose the Wingate Hotel […] next door. this hotel was good for the money. we stayed there because we were going to six flags. you really can't ask for a closer place because we walked to the park and saved $30 on parking. it was pretty clean except under the beds they looked like they never got vacuumed

It's a Howard Johnson, so how bad can it be? Now I know. With today’s economy, to add a little splurge from the normal frugality which has become norm, we wanted at least reasonable accommodations, for our money. Clean beds and hot running water was not too much to ask, or so we thought. We arrived, tired from the long drive. Given our rooms by very […] cordial, although difficult to understand his English, night attendant. So good so far. Went to the rooms which were ideal in location, first floor, parking right outside our rooms, awesome. One room was fine, the second however, had no linens on bed, bed spread rolled up in a chair in the corner, and to top it off, marijuana leaves on the night table. Went back to desk, complained. The attendant was caught unaware of the condition of the room. No problem, he changed both of our rooms. Sent us upstairs on backside where no convenient parking, overlooking the beautiful storage building. We had to haul our luggage, etc. upstairs to the back corner. At least the beds were made. Again, one room was good, but one was hotter than all blazes. They sent up maintenance who stated, “the AC just needed to run for a bit. If not more comfortable in 30 mins., call him back and he will change rooms, again. We sat outside on the floor landing for about hour while room "cooled." Finally! Some sleep before our big day at Six Flags. Came back to hotel after 8 hours in park in 90+° heat to find that a water main had broken and water shut off. We were met by very same cordial attendant who apologized and said this was throughout the area. Indeed, they even closed Six Flags about an hour later. We tried to take it all in stride; after all, we are on vacation. We went to eat, dirty and sweaty as we were. When water turned back on, it was filthy. The desk person said we needed to run it about 5 minutes to clear. All we got after at least an hour was water that was a light brown and a trickle at most. The room was fine. It came with a microwave and refrigerator. The TV had many stations. Very close to Six Flags. We found a dirt path through the fence that made the walk even shorter. My son found it on Google Earth.

The location was great, the hotel itself was awful. I changed rooms twice. The first move was due to poor maintainence. the tub and sink did not drain. There was flies all over tne room and it smell bad. The second room the air condition stop working. This hotel was the worse every for me.

Rooms and service was mediocre at best, but we only stayed 2 nights so it wasnt a big deal. Six Flags is just right down the street(walkin distance) so we saved on parking also. Its a very accomodating place if youre looking to go to six flags if not go elsewhere.

WE LIKE IT COZ IT SO CLOSE TO THE PARKS.FRIENDLY STAFF.

The hotel was good except we kept getting locked out. The mananger said that the key de-magnetized if you kept it near a cell phone but we didn't and we still kept getting locked out.

Shouldnt be open. hotel was under construction. Bad Service. long drive to stay in a piece of crap hotel.
