No problems but there is one thing you need to do. Your rugs are very very dirty. Walking around bare foot is not good feet got black. Other then that room was clean.

Thanks to the broken phone in our room we missed our flight to see my father who was in the hospital. The clerk downstairs didn't seem to care, and although we were told the manager would be in by 7am - he either never showed up, or was hiding. We called several times to speak to someone there, but never a manager available. After contacting Hotels.com […] they tried to call and did get a manager, but the manager said it was not their fault that the phone didn't work and that we missed our flight - isn't that what wake up calls are for? BTW - we set the alarm in the room also and it did not go off either. So thanks to this hotel I had to pay an additional $700 to get to my destination in time for my father's surgery and they offered me 10% off my next stay. NEXT STAY???? Are they kidding? NEVER - NEVER - NEVER!!! I think I would have gotten better service from a motel I could have rented by the hour that didn't carry a nationally known name. (Shame on you Howard Johnsons for allowing people like this to put your name on their facility!) Mehr

The hotel was a bit outdated and rooms are small. But these are clean and the service was reasonable. The breakfast is not very good so we ended up eating out. I was expecting a bigger and more update room for the price, but at least it was clean and bed was comfortable.

Checked in for the night and got my room right away with no problem. It was a little hard to find since the hotel wasn't set-up like a traditional hotel. The room was chilly when I checked-in so I had to lower the A/C. The surrounding area was a little suspect with various strip clubs across the street. Thankfully, there were no problems. Longhorn Steakhouse […] is right next to the hotel (didn't go this time). The free breakfast left a lot to be desired. Overall, for a overnight stay, this hotel did the job very well. Mehr

Checked in at 10 pm and there was one guy at the front desk and he was busy. Once I got past the line everything was good. The neighborhood was sketchy but the room was clean and comfortable

I like this hotel is in a great area and the hotel it's look like remodel so it's pretty nice and comfortable.

The hotel sits nicely between the 2001 Odesey Live Nude Show and the ABC liquor store. Also, across the street there are additional adult entertainment establishments. The hotel room walls are paper thin, so you can also hear other entertainment, in case you don't want to leave your room. The room was so disgusting that I slept in between my clothes […] so the sheets didn't touch me. The best part of the whole ordeal, I mean staying there, was leaving. Mehr

1 of the worst hotels ever!!! Flying bugs, cook reaches, strip clubs across the street & next door. I would never recommend them again!!!

During a visit I stayed at 3 different hotels in Tampa. The Howard Johnsons was a great deal for the price. EXtremely clean and well kept. Very convenient to the airport which was key.

Check-in/Lobby personnel are not friendly. Can barely understand them. Room is very old and dark. Kind of depressing. Basically just a place to sleep and shower. Bathroom walls were dirty. I wouldn't step foot in the pool. The free breakfast was disappointing - very few offerings. No one kept that area clean. I had to go elsewhere to eat breakfast. […] I will never stay here again. I hardly ever stay in 2 star hotels, but this was all that was available the night I booked. The bed was very comfortable and clean.

The hotel decided to repave the parking lot at 9am instead of waiting until check out at 11am. There were no signs in the hotel lobby or around the parking lot letting anyone know that the parking lot was going to be paved. My car was parked in the area that they were paving and if it hadn't been for me leaving my room just before they started to get […] some coffee, my car would have been covered and surrounded by tar! . The noise from the machine was extremely loud and right outside of my hotel room. When I complained to the front desk manager about the loud noise, he was extremely rude and dismissive. Mehr

This is the worse hotel I ever stayed in. It had roaches in the clock radio on night stand. We saw roaches in the bathroom, crawling up the wall and was awaken by roach crawl on my face. My husband felt one crawling on his back. We were planning to stay two or three nights but checked out after one night stay. I would not recommend this hotel to my […] worse enemy. The rooms had roaches, enough said!

It is an excellent hotel, their rooms are very comfortable, clean and attention to guests as well as cleaning the rooms was very satisfactory.

Very nice, clean, and comfortable hotel. Kim at the front desk is always very nice and pleasant. Close to everything.

pretty cool but could have done without all the strip clubs nearby especially next door and directly across the street.

hojos does not have van service from airport..when i called they inform us to wait for blue van..super shuttle...what they did not say ...you have reserv servise at window...shuttle is free..waited at airport 1.5 hr to get to hojo..once the front desk told us how to get shuttle...perfect place to stay before and after cruise

it's always a pleasure and a solid deal to stay at the Howard Johnsons by Raymond James Stadium.

The location of the hotel is between strip clubs and pawn shops. It had a strange smell. I would unfortunately not recommend this place for anyone.

Unpretentious, but efficient. Entirely satisfactory at the price I got. Cordial staff. In-room safe was never functional throughout my stay (although I declined invitation to move to a different room where a functional safe would have been available). Daily complimentary copies of Tampa Tribune and USA Today were much appreciated, as were excellent […] microwave and refrigerator with freezer. Limited selection of Cable TV channels dismaying, but more could not be expected at bargain price. I have stayed at this place before and I definitely plan to stay there again if the price remains reasonable. Mehr

carpet very dirty, television is old and has terrible reception. Breakfast buffet not very good.

The staff was very pleasant. They did have a telephone problem which wasn't their fault and we had to take a taxi from airport to hotel. They reimbursed us.

If at all possible, avoid this hotel!

I choose this location due to convenience of the location to the places I was visiting in the Tampa area. As soon as we checked in, the lady at the front desk just asked for our name and that was it. When we got into the room, the AC was set at 88 deg. while the outside temp was mid 90s. Being in the room for the first 4 hours was unbearable. The next […] day, on 2 separate occasions the keys for the room were deactivated and they blamed our cell phones being to close to the magnetic strip. The time they were helpful was when we checked out and left that hotel. I do not recommend staying in this hotel. Mehr
