I used to arrange my bag before i go out the room and i know what is on it. I went out and ask them to arrange my room when i came back every thing was fine except a new perfume was Taken from my bag !!! Still try to see what i can do to get my perfume back !!! The hotel is good and in perfect location i will go back

OMG - they put me on the 2nd floor with someone above me who, when they walked, caused the floor to squeak and it kept me up the entire evening. The guests above me were late to bed and very early to rise. It was soooooooo annoying! Room Service forgot my breakfast...again...and when they checked me in, they gave me the key to the wrong room. we were very satisfied with our stay at the Marina del Rey Hotel. Excellent service and very friendly.

There was barely anyone in the hotel, but they put us in a room with no view except the giant awning out front. Asked if we could switch rooms they did in fact give us a nicer room. View of marina was much better. The hotel is in a great location for our needs and parking seems safe. The hotel has seen better days, the first room smelled of mold and […] the windows wouldnt open and the room was in poor condition. The second room was in better condition, but old and run down. T.V.s are old and didnt work that great. The property needs some serious work and tlc. Could be a really nice place if kept up. Dont think we would book the same place again. Mehr

This hotel has great potential, but needs a big inflow of cash to fix it up and reburbish it. The overall feeling was "tired" and dated. Even the restaurant lacked energy, good service and attention to detail. It's the best priced hotel in Marina Del Rey located on the water, but there's a reason for that.

The location is lovely but the hotel needs a bit of renovation. The room itself was nice and comfy even if a bit shabby. The bathroom was from the 1950 and the shower was a dribble! And when there is no mini-bar in the room, I find it strange that the bar of the hotel closes at 11:00 on a Friday evening????

This is our second stay. It is nice hotel in a quiet area that is easy to get to from LAX and close to the beaches and eating places. It does need updating in the rooms and the curtains could use a major thorough cleaning. Rest of the room was clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed here before & I use it as a relaxing one niter on the way to New York from Australia- views of the marina are just fantastic-beautiful serene place to unwind. there is a nice Mall 5 minutes walk away with fountains & outdoor tables. My Only complaint really is the Air Conditioning didnt work at all- heat/cool it just spewed out warm air..not […] comfortable so I opened the window! but overall location is perfect, rooms a little dated but comfortable if the aircon worked. WAS WONDERFUL, THE PEOPLE VERY VERY NICE, THE PLACE EXCELENT, MY FAMILY SO HAPPY.

Right in the water in Marina Del Rey. Price is very reasonable for the area. Most of the hotel is a bit worn down and threadbare, but everything is entirely functional. Wifi worked well. No fridge, but a big ice bucket and free ice just down the hall. The front desk staff was excellent. The cleaning staff needs to exert more effort - odd bits of hair […] in the bathroom for two days, even though I complained and the front desk said they'd take care of it. Mehr

It certainly was a great view for the xtra money, but I think you should update your hotel. The shower was old looking, the TV service was not the best and the beds, I found, were way too firm for my liking.

The hotel is in a perfect location at Marina Del Rey; eacy access to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and Pacific Palisades. The hotel was satisfactory, growing old and needs some maintenance but it was clean and had good views of the marina. Priced well. Bar and Restaurant satisfactory and lots of free parking. A good stay.

My husband and I previously lived in MDR and this location was perfect for our visit. The view and atmosphere staying in the Marina certainly added to the experience of our stay. The value based on location is also very good - as other hotels in the area are quite expensive. On the negative, the hotel needs some upgrading and maintenance. There were […] some obvious surfaces (nightstands and desk) that could have looked a lot better with a recent paint job. So, I'm not even suggesting that everything has to be brand new. But, at the very minimum take care of the things that can be easily done. The hotel is pet friendly, which in our case was a negative as the people next door left their dog in their room unattended, and the dog was howling. The management did address the issue and the situation was solved by calling the owner and having them come back to the room. More positives: the beds were comfortable, the internet is good and the parking is free. As I mentioned the location is excellent, and the neighborhood is safe. I probably wouldn't recommend the hotel though, unless I could give a thorough explanation of what to expect. Will I stay here again? I'm pretty budget conscience so I may. But I'd have another look around first to see if I could get a better room for the same price. Best would be to pay a little more and have the hotel renovate and then I'd gladly stay at their great location. Mehr

It was ok for the price they charge. Nothing special and sort of a weird area of town. If you like fog, this is the place for you.

Fair hotel with fantastic views of the harbour, Hotel is dated and would benifit from a lick of paint. It was clean and you pay for the view rather then 5* facilities. But overall nice enough.

Late flight to LA so I wanted the get a place between the airport and my meetings the next day. The hotel is older and could stand some updating, but the location and view of the marina made the stay worth it. The only other hotel on the marina from what I could tell is the Ritz Carlton whereas the others are across the street. The hotel staff was very […] courteous and the amenities were pretty nice. The location is within a couple of miles of Venice Beach. The only major drawback were the heavy feet from the people staying above me, which can partially be blamed on the age of the building. Mehr

great service by the front desk to give us the greatest room of our choice... ground floor, patio, and close to the pool. great place to stay and take a tour. came back later than i expected but had a great dinner in the hotel restaurant. very tasty, and great dessert, too. will come back again...still much to see around the area

Very nice and the bed was soo comfy. The only thing was this is the only motel/hotel I've had that had no fridge

The hotel is literally a stones throw away from the boats on the marina., which provide a very beautiful view (if you choose a Marina View room). The walls are rather thin, we could hear our neighbor's voices even though they weren't talking loud. The place could use some new flooring and a coat of paint. But, being able to watch the sunset reflecting […] off the marina water makes up for all the small blemishes of the hotel. It was a nice sized room (we choose the 2 double bed room). The bathroom was nicely laid out and had glass doors for the shower instead of a plastic curtain. It would have been nice to have two light switches for the toilet/shower section and the sink area instead of just one in the hallway that controlled both. The large windows open to let in the ocean breeze, I wish we would have known to ask for a room with a balcony, though. Overall it is a very hotel and moderately priced. I will definitely be staying there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel room in Marina Del Rey. Mehr

there were a couple different front desk workers one was smart and the other seemed to suffer some sort of short term memory loss because he had completely forgotten the conversation or my even meeting and talking with him the day prior...

Not the flashiest or newest of hotels. It happened to be the closest and the cheapest of the hotels close to my work. the facilities show their age. But it was clean.

We've been in this hotel for two days and I think is a very nice place to visit from LA to Santa Monica and Venice beach. It's true the hotel needs a general improvement but we can consider everuthing is ok. Breackfast ( not included in our case ) is too expensive for the quality we can get iy. Wifi conection is not working properly despite if you stay […] calm there's no problem. Overall, I would recommend this hotel mainly for its location because the hotel itsel is "just" correct. Mehr

Location, Location, Location. Everything else is fair hotel is in bad need for updating. Rooms comfortable TV is fair no flat screen. NO in room controls for AC the room temp is whatever the management thinks it should be. Although the windows do open and cool nights makes it alright I guess.

The hotel staff has cheated me for USD 163. I talked to them before we left and told them about what we had bought at the hotel, but they still have charged my credit card with more than the double amount.

Nice hotel. Very basic. Not a bunch of frills but a very friendly and kind staff. While it's by the ocean, you don't really get an ocean view, just the marina-fine with me...but don't want to raise expectations.

When we got there, the lady at the counter made a comment about our reservation being with Hotel.com. In our room, the desk and tv armoire were all scratched up. It just had an old used feeling...

They didn't have the room they promised so we had to settle for a rollaway bed. The windows were filthy but the view beyond was to die for. The bed was hard as a rock but the pillows were terrific. The bathroom looked newly renovated but there was very little water pressure. See a pattern here? With relatively little investment this boutique-feeling […] hotel could really be something special. This is our second time at this hotel for our Anniversary. We liked it so much last year we went back this year..Friendly service...The waiter at the hotel restaurant he is very honestly friendly..The view of the Ocean bay from our room..inviting and relaxing so much so we slept with the slide doors open...Close to many restaurants yacht club of Marina […] Del Rey....Plan on going back again before the next Anniversary... We could hear every step our neighbours, old and smelly rooms, really not nice.

Our room had mold growing in the bathroom and cabinets. The location is not by any major attractions and it is in an area of town where I didn't feel comfortable walking alone. When we asked the person at the front desk for some area places to have dinner, she "didn't know the area well." This seems insane to me, but that is just my opinion. The hotel and the rooms where clean and comfortable. The stuff is very friendly and the location is safe and good. If you wanna visit marina del rey and the venice area, then it's the hotel to stay.

I loved the location of the Hotel it is convient to everything great shops, restaurants etc. The only negeatives I have about the Hotel is the plus of the Hotel. The patio is lovely but the furniture on the patio is filthy dirty.

Great location, but way over priced, even with "discount." It is in a depressing state of disrepair, peeling paint, scuff marks on walls in common areas, bedrooms and elevator, and worn carpets and drapes throughout. Shower pressure and 'hot water' inadequate. "Free 'WiFi' never worked. Ditto for air conditioning. Breakfast and all other food is also […] expensive, considering the price for the room. At least you get a "free" breakfast at a Holiday Inn, and other priced hotels. You might expect at least a free cup of coffee for the very over priced room. Mehr

We stayed at the Marina Del Ray Hotel for the E3 conference in LA. The drive wasn't bad at all in non-rush hour times, usually about 30 minutes. It was very close to Santa Monica and the 3rd Street Promenade, as well as Venice Beach (not as cool a place as everyone makes it out to be). The hotel room has a great view of the marina, and the king size […] bed was a welcome rest at the end of each day. The water in the shower seemed to fluctuate from hot to cold though, and at one point I (not my girlfriend luckily) saw a spider crawl out of one of the vents near the roof and crawl back in. Overall though a great stay, and not a bad hotel for location and price. I am pretty easy to please though, so more discerning/snobbish people may not agree. Mehr

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room -- first floor on marina side, near the pool -- was clean and comfortable. The outside area of the bar and grill was a nice place for drinks and dinner, food was decent, and my well-behaved dog was welcomed and accommodated. This hotel was beautiful the scene from your room was so pretty. We had the marina in front of our window and it was beautiful. You can order room service if u want and we had breakfast and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area looked very pretty although we didnt have time to go in. The restaurant was lovey good food […] and nice view. Would recommend this hotel to others and would go back myself. Just expect to use taxi's to hollywood ect anywhere too far as buses are very far and few between and difficult to understand. Saying this the hotel does have tours avaliable with transport to and from. We did universal studios and had no problems. Mehr

Amazing steal for this neighborhood. Hotel is a little worn around the edges so if you need shiny and new, skip it; if location and character matter,: book it! People are right re thin walls. Not for light sleepers on a weekend, anyway

We were on the 1st floor our first night there, and we got to listen to a couple upstairs having a "very" good time until 2am. The front desk person was very helpful and moved us to the top floor for the second night. We were expecting a great night, were we wrong. That night we got to listen to the next room have a party until 3am. I did call the front […] desk and complained about the noise, which helped for about 30 minutes, then the noise got loud again. I think the hotel has been around awhile and the walls are VERY thin. Don't expect to get much sleep! Mehr
