Hotel Stratford - Santa Clara

The rooms are not very large but are very clean and cozy. Besides there is a large size TV set in every room. The bad point is that It has no restaurant and the breakfast is served in an empty room.

Was very comfortable and easy to get to.

Hotel is low budget with poor WIFI service and their breakfast has limted items available and poor quality.

For the price, this is a decent deal for San Jose. Admittedly, I didn't interact much with the staff. When I did, they were courteous and efficient. My room was cleaned every day, and done well. Location was convenient but that's all that was good. The place has been fluffed up but only a superficial makeover. front desk couldn't transfer an incoming call to my room. Room size was OK, room had a MW & Frig, but when I saw roaches in the bathroom, any positive including the price went out the window. ICK!

The hotel was just average. The room was only reasonably clean. There were 2 used washcloths on the shower rod when I checked in and they stayed there until I left. When putting the towel down in front of the vanity it got really dirty on the carpet side. The vanity was out in the room and really cramped the area for accessing clothes. This is basic accomodation, at a price point cheaper than other (and nicer) hotels in the area. The room smelt a little funny... a mixture of cleaning fluids and ???. Large LCD TV with dish satellite that I couldn't quite figure out how to work (two conflicting channel guides as well). Room was basically clean, but could have been better. Hotel is older, […] but not in a charming way. A very basic Continental breakfast is available. If I needed to stay in the area for one night, I would still do this. My wife however didn't feel safe in the hotel and would not stay here again. Mehr

If you are budget minded and don't mind an old 70's motel then Stratford is okay. Parking right out front of your room (a little noisy when folks are unloading their work trucks late at night). Didn't get a chance to try the breakfast because it starts at 6:30 AM and we were already gone. Checkout was throwing the keys through the mail slot because […] the front desk closes. Mehr

The hotels.com web site states that the Deluxe Double room has 2 queen beds. Sleep Number by Select Comfort mattress. The room DID NOT have sleep number beds.

The hotel was pretty nice for the price. Microwave and fridge. The bed was pretty comfy too. All in all pretty good. I'd stay there again.

Motel was better than most in this price range. It was comfortable, clean, convenient. Window blinds recently replaced with very nice vinyl shutters. It had refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, and Dish Satellite television service. Only deficiencies were lack of hair conditioner and an old CRT tube television. Overall it was good value.

Sticky bathroom floor, smelly room, uncomfortable bed, breakfast (sort of) improvised in one of the rooms... The only plus was big LCD TV with Dish (no HD) TV service. Just find something else and pay a little bit more.

I needed to stay near my work at the last minute so I searched and found the Hotel Stratford. The desk clerk was very friendly and treated me well. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. The only critisisms I have is that I could not access the Internet without calling the provider and waiting on hold for 15 minutes and the television was small. […] Overall, I would recommend Hotel Stratford and will return soon. the room was spacious, bed comfortable, not too hard, clean, breakfast was continential nothing special but nice to have!! For a quick cheap stay it was great!!

decent room at a low price

The only complaint was the Carpet needed some cleaning. Restaurant across the street, TV with lots of channels, bed comfortable room quite.

Pretty good hotel, good location, room was fine. Walls were a bit thin so if your neighbors are noisy you'll have a problem. Nice good size flat screen TV. Continental breakfast not bad. Good quality for the price.

This place is very nice. TV, heater, bed, sink, bathroom,.... everything is new and works very reliably. It is also very clean. They have not only wifi but also an ethernet port, so you can hook up your computer directly. The hotel is on El Camino, but the building is perpendicular to the busy street (thus rooms are a lil away) so it's not too noisy. […] It is nice that you can find many restaurants, drug stores, etc around the hotel. It is easy to be completely satisfied with your hotel when budget is not a concern (other well known hotels in area run $150 ~ $200). So with that being said one has to keep his/her expectations in perspective. On the plus side, someone was always at the front desk, regardless of the hour. The bed was very comfortable. Coffee maker, refrigerator and […] microwave came in very handy. Plenty of low cost options for meals within walking distance. Lighting in room was good. A small desk and small table was nice and usable. On the negative side: although remodeled relatively recently, the room could have been somewhat cleaner. The old style window base heater/ac was sort of all the way on or all the way off and it would blow the curtains open compromising your security and comfort somewhat (not that big of a deal though). The wireless internet connection was so slow that it was useless! Neighborhood not as bad as some reviewers have indicated. Food store nearby. Great Indian restaurant about 0.4 mile away (Peacock Indian Cuisine) on El Camino Real and Kiely Blvd. Bottom line, the hotel did the trick for me. Mehr

Well located property with below average rates for this area.

This place is a great place if you are in for business. the rooms were quite nice, Great Television (FREE SATELLITE TV) !!! everything was great. i highly recommend this place and plan on staying here all the time in the future. This is one great Hotel!

Front desk staff very helpful and friendly.

As expected, good location, clean hotel. Only drawback was poor internet connection.

Overall I liked the room, it was clean, has a refrigerator and microwave, and a flat screen TV. The service on the other hand was not very good. I asked for a "do not disturb" sign for the door but was told they could not find one, then of course the house keeper tried to barge in at about 9:00am.
