Ramada on the Beach - Virginia Beach

This is a great location at the beachfront; the staff is very supporting with free valet parking. Great concierge help. The hotel restaurant is 'arrogant', loud, dark, with medium service

The hotel was in an excellent location right on the beach and close to everything. All staff was friendly and my room was clean and bug free. We asked for extra towels and had no problem getting more than enough delivered to our room. The hotal restaurant had very good food and drinks as well. The only issue i had is when i called ahead of time to ask […] about my room i was told a refrigerator and microwave were included. My room didnt have a refrigerator and i was told by the staff i had to pay a certain amount a day for one. Once i explained that i was told i would have one before they promptly had one delivered to my room free of charge. Great hotel! Mehr

Overall I enjoyed my stay, but was not aware of a $10 a day charge to have a frig in my room. Also, I asked for a non-smoking room and got a smoking room. The smoking room smelt like a large ashtray and when I asked the front desk if they had any kind of order removal spray they never got back with me.

Fantastic!!!!

Room service was very bad. We returning to unmade room no towels. Front desk was not friendly.

I have never been more satisfied with a hotel in the continental U.S. This hotel was convenient, very friendly staff, comfortable for the kids and adults. The pool was welcoming and comfortable as a swimmer or as somebody just watching (not too hot or humid to be just sitting in a chair watching the kids). We have stayed here before and had no complaints this time we requested a refrig and microwave, they did bring refrig but never got a microwave. Upon arrival there was no towels or coffee in the room so we had to call for items to be brought up. Towels were so hard that they hurt to use them. when using the shower 1/ 2 the water was coming into the […] tub instead of out of the shower heads so the shower was not very enjoyable as last stay, we complained about the shower the first day but nobody ever responded. There were no towels in the pool area and it was so crowded in the pool that we got out in about 10 minutes cuz you could hardly move. Mehr

During our annual visit to Virginia Beach, we chose to stay at the Ramada Hotel. We enjoyed our stay and ocean front room, although the bath accommodations were less than stellar. Appointments in and cleanliness of the room were as expected of Ramada, but finishes in the bath were below what we had anticipated. Our room had a beautiful view overlooking the ocean. The bar/rest. within the hotel was fabulous. I recommend the oysters. Will definitely be staying there again.

Had read some mixed reviews about the hotel prior to booking, although most were positive. For the price (somewhat off season) I was very pleased. Room was nice, not especially large, nice location at the south end of the beach which is likley quieter in the busy season. Would definitely stay here again if price was right. My first words upon entering my room are the title for this review. Loved the view, loved the showerhead (double) loved the bed (so soft). It was quiet and bright and the restaurant downstairs makes an incredible banana banchee martini. The staff were very helpful and I would definitely return to Ramada on the Beach. I was very surprised at how satisfied i was staying at the ramamda... i didnt not expect such a high standard from this hotel... the staff was extremely nice and helpful i was even allowed to check in early with no problem! i would def stay there again the only thing i disliked was u have to walk through the main lobby to get to the pool...

As soon as we entered the hotel my 9 year old daughter notice the maid had left a used dust rag on the night stand. This is not the first impression you to have when entering a hotel. We also want to warn everyone that there is no micro wave nor a refrigerator in the room. This of course forces you to eat out. Which is fine but we always have left overs […] and like to store them in the frig. Well not frig at the ramada. The bathroom is a joke. Only one person can fit comfortably at a time in the bathroom. Seriously. It is very, very, very small. Over all this is a hotel for someone not use to staying at a 4or 5 star hotel. If you are ok with a mediocre and like milky over crowded pools with mayberry and his 8 kids running around like they have no sense.. then this is your place. sorrry ramada. you fell way short this time. no second chance. sorry. The hotel Ramada on the Beach in Va Beach was a very pleasurble experience. The view of the ocean was beautiful, the staff was very nice, and the valet parking definately help set the tone for my anniversary weekend celebration. The onsite restaurant Mahi Mahi was delicious for breakfast didn't try their dinner menu but I've heard all good things..My […] husband and I were so pleased that we've scheduled another visit in a couple of months with family. The HVAC in the room was great. Didn't have to mess with it and it didn't keep us up at night. The room was by the elevator and there was a 1" gap at the bottom of the door. We heard the elevator tone whenever someone called it. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the pool and hot tub were very nice. The view was amazing! Overall a […] good stay. Mehr

Virginia Beach and the Ramada Inn are favorites! Hotel is older but very well maintained. Beds are comfortable and have beach-view. Most have balconies. One of the best VaBe restaurants, Mahi Mah's, is conveniently located in the hotel. Other great dining choices are within walking distance. The hotel staff was nice and the location was great. I stayed here for a valentine's day getaway and it was marvelous, very private and romantic setting.

Hotel attempted to bill me for the price of the room after I already paid in full with hotels.com. Took myself plus the hotels.com rep about an hour to convince her otherwise. Why would anyone pay twice the cost of a room just for the convenience of having a third party make the reservation? I was a pretty weak argument but the hotel service associate […] seemed to find it valid. Overall a win for location and hotels.com's customer service, but a big lose for the Ramada's customer service in my books. Mehr

I don't think the room was worth the price I paid..

I stayed 2 nights here with 2 small children. We went off season, the price was excellent. The staff was amazing. Every staff member from housekeeping, valet, front desk, to management were all wonderful. They were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. There was some minor disrepair in the room, but nothing that really effected my comfort […] level or actual cleanliness of the room. Beautiful sunrise! Mehr

The Ramada on the Beach was one of the most enjoyable, pleasant stays we've had. The staff was very friendly and did awsome at making us feel comfortable and welcomed!

This hotel was fine. All the rooms had a great view of the ocean. The bed was comfortable and there was a nice balcony to sit outside. We were there in January and it wasn't crowded and we weren't there for the beach. But this hotel was perfectly comfortable, and a nice way to see Virginia Beach. Nice hotel for the price. Room was very small, but the ocean view was absolutely beautiful! Coffee pot and blow dryer did not work, but the staff replaced them immediately without any problems! We would stay here again!

The hotel was very clean, but the staff did not go out of their way to be friendly. The room had only one chair and it was uncomfortable. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room, but you could rent them for a cost, each, per night; while other hotels around them, which did not cost as much, advertised refrigerator and microwave in room, in […] addition to breakfast being included in the price. The oceanfront view was beautiful, and the bed and pillows were the most comfortable we had ever slept on. I only wish the hotel included more amenities which would have made our stay more comfortable. The hotel staff also placed a hold on my credit card for the entire three nights I was there, even though I had prepaid (non-refundable) through Hotels.com. I was told they would only hold a small amount to cover incidental costs, but they charged my card as though I had made the reservations through them and I was told it would take 3 to 5 days before the hold would be released. This is not fair nor ethical business practice and I will never return to this hotel again. Mehr

The hotel bad is too uncomfortable. We asked to change the rooms but was told that all the beds are the same! No one had a good sleep while we stayed there. Oh, yes and the parking attendant is a problem as indicated in the other reviews.

Good location right on boardwalk with fun bar and sushi restaurant on premises. Staff was polite but very curt and non flexible with request for late check out. Price was right for the quality. Valet was very polite and speedy. Gym was a joke, old and creaky.

I would recomend the Ramada in Virginia Beech to anyone wanting to kick back for afew days. The staff was exceptional and accomodations were quite nice. We watched the annual Christmas pageant from the warmth of our room while drinking Champagne

We had a very nice stay. Would love to come back to this Hotel again. Staff were very friendly. We had a late arrival and the staff help us have a warm and expedient check in.

I can only say that it was "okay" overall. clean but small room. Loved the balcony and Mahi Mahi but had to call for assistance a couple of times for blankets. Valet the first night was great, not so good the next.
