Sehr schönes Hotel, mit guten Service und akzeptabelen Preisen. Frühstück, Lunch und Abendessen zu normalen Preisen, nicht höher als in der Stadt, was auch für de Bar gilt, aber wer geht in Dublin schon in die Hotelbar?? Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Haltestelle vom Aircoach nur 2 min entfernt:

Das o'Callaghan Davenport ist ein sehr schönes Hotel, das nahe des Trinity College in der Innenstadt liegt. Wer auf älteren Flair steht, ist da gut aufgehoben.

Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen, alle wichtigen Punkte kann man sehr gut zu Fuss erreichen. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig, ordentlich und ruhig. Das Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Man fühlte sich hier direkt wie zu Hause. Das Hotel ist zu empfehlen und ich habe schon meinen nächsten Aufenthalt dort gebucht.

Hotel und Zimmer sind im Wesentlichen in Ordnung. Die Lage ist gut, man kommt in kurzer Zeit zu Fuß zu den wichtigen touristisch interessanten Orten. Das Hotelfrühstück kann allerdings nur als sehr dürftig bezeichnet werden: Zwei Sorten krümeliges Toastbrot, ein kaum funktionsfähiger Toaster, eine Sorte Wurst (gekochter Schinken), in Fett schwimmende […] Spiegeleier usw. Und wehe Sie kommen nur kurz vor Frühstücksende um 10.15 Uhr. Ab 10.005 Uhr wird gnadenlos abgeräumt.... Die Restaurants im Umfeld des Hotels sind aber sehr gut und unter Berücksichtigung der hohen Qualität der Speisen absolut empfehlenswert. Mehr

Staff was friendly and efficient. Location was excellent - two blocks to Grafton street, far enough away from hustle for a good night's sleep. Room is spacious and fairly well appointed. The Davenport is a fine old hotel one block form Merrion Square and the back gate of Trinity, a better location would be hard to find! We spent 4 nights and were generally pleased until our last evening when the plumbing in that bathroom made terrible banging and sucking sounds. When we arrived back after midnight the room stunk of sewer gases, but […] being late, we did not want to change rooms so we remained. Clean, well-maintained rooms. Very friendly staff. Spacious rooms. I had a 2 year old with me and he slept well in his cot (the only problem for him was a lack of mini bar, and so no refrigeration for his milk at night). He loved his rice crispies for breakfast

This is a great hotel very close to Dublin city centre and on the doorsteps of Trinity College. Only improvements that I could make is to have some news papers available to people staying there- none were visible. Great self service breakfast

Stopped at the Davenport hotel for a long weekend, it was in a good position for shops bars etc but the room was very disappointing very small a window that was overlooking the entrance roof. The hotel is beautiful inside and out - the rooms are great except for the heat system. Was a struggle to figure out how to manage the temperature and overnight was way too hot. Hotel good position in relatively quiet street, near to all night life. Had a good few days - went to an Irish show music and dancers at a country pub, Guiness store good but don't walk from here take taxi. Shops bit disappointing, a lot of the usual UK ones also here but a few different ones.

The location of the hotel was good, but still had to walk a ways to get to certain areas. It is a beautiful hotel. One complaint of the hotel is that it didn't offer free wifii with your stay (which I found pricey). Had to pay for your own parking even though the hotel chain owned the parking garage and they had no washcloths for you to bath with.

The hotel staff was absolutely excellent...polite, helpful, and more than willing to offer recommendations, etc... the room was spartan but functional and the king bed was firm and comfortable (vs lumpy and indented) so it seemed to be a new bed. OK, it's not the Merrion, but for the price they charge, the are conveniently located in the City Center, near everything, with a perfectly fine restaurant and bar. For business or pleasure I would recommmend the Davenport for anyone who is budget conscious, not spending a lot of time in their room and wanting a decent place to stay!!!

The location of the hotel was great for us, 10 minutes walk to Grafton Street & Temple Bar. So pleased we didnt stay in Temple Bar area.....dirty & not safe. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The hotel has character although a little dated & could be refurbed. Junior suite was two single beds pushed together & a very small tv!

Grand old hotel could be so much better. It's a lot of little details that could use attention. The first room we were in had a broken hair dryer and a very noisy pub across the street. The second room was fine, but again the end of the blow dryer kept falling off the hose and the room safe didn't work. The rooms also don't have mini-bars: not a big […] deal but disappointing. The whole hotel, although very clean, could use some sprucing up to make it a really grand hotel worthy of 4 stars. The staff is 5 star. It has been very convenient, very comfortable and very close to anything in the city centre. Room very spacious, very clean, bar and restaurant services good and good price too. the only thing I was a bit disapointed about is that we were placed in the first floor right in front of the entrance of a local pub and we were travelling with a 2 year old […] and the beggining of our early night was a bit noisy. Davenport is a nice location close to museum and Trinity. 10 minute walk to the Temple Bar area as well. My room was the Jr Suite - very large and updated, comfy bed, and clean.

There was some 'old world' charm with nice wood doors and other warm features. Easy walking to pubs and shopping. Nice staff. I would stay there again. There was a pub directly across from our window and it was noisy late into the night, however, earplugs took care of that problem.

Ok hotel, but was very overpriced. I had reserved a junior suite but did not see the difference from a more basic room. My room was clean and serviceable but nothing outstanding. I am not really a picky traveler, as I spend very little time in the hotels other than for showering and sleeping. But this was quite a disappointment overall. Furniture is […] outdated and worn. I sent an email to the hotel 2 weeks before my stay with a couple of questions and never received a response. I recieved terrible service at the restaurant and the pub. Again, I'm not demanding but at the end of a long day it gets annoying waiting 45 min. for a check I requested several times when there were only 3 other tables occupied. The hotel also charges for wi-fi and for tv channels outside of the 4 free channels provided. Also was charged for calls made with a calling card, something like $.38 a minute on top of calling card fees.The so-called cashmere blanket is just a scarf across the end of the bed, so I was always cold during the night as the thermostat did not seem to function at all. I had to use my wool coat over the sheets to warm up at night. The coffee maker was really just a carafe to heat water and I was given a supply of instant coffee packets, but they were always decaf so I had to go out and spend 3 euro every morning in cafes just to get a cup of coffee. I would not recommend this hotel for the prices charged, you can find much nicer accomodations in same area for a lot less. Mehr

I enjoyed my stay very much. Only comment or suggestion to improve is to have FedEx or UPS service for guests who want to ship some things home. They sent my box via US Post - but I have no tracking information, and don't know when it will arrive.
