Copthorne King's Hotel Singapore - Singapur

Wir waren 3 Nächte in diesem Hotel. Das Zimmer war angemessen in der Größe und zweckentsprechen eingerichtet. Auch bei uns war die Aulegware sehr sehr schmutzig, Fleck an Fleck. Das war kein netter Anblick und für diesen Preis auch nicht akzeptabel. Obwohl wir ein Zimmer nach hinten raus hatten war es sehr laut, da die zentrale (ich vermute Klimanlage) […] für das Haus unmittelbar vor unserem Balkon war und unzumutbar laut war. Wären wir abends nicht so müde gewesen, wäre ans Schlafen nicht zu denken gewesen. Frühstück war in Ordnung. Würde das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen. Mehr

Aufpassen bei der Buchung. Superior Rooms billiger aber meist im Tower Wing - Zimmer arg klein mit wenig Platz, um sich zu bewegen. Ansonsten nicht unbedingt sauber, Flecken auf dem Teppich, Zigarettenkippen hinter dem Klo. Unser Bettlaken war für ein Queen Size Bed zu klein. Deluxe Rooms wesentlich größer aber teurer (wir sind auch wegen des Platzes […] umgezogen). Unser Zimmer 1011 mit Balkon mit Blick auf Singapore River. Allgemeine Sauberkeit hier besser. Bad allerdings recht klein geraten aber annehmbar. Frühstück unter aller Kanone - schon vor 10:30 Uhr wird mit Vorankündigung (gegen 10:00 Uhr) buchstäblich das Essen unter der Nase weggetragen. Dafür ist das Frühstück auch zu teuer. Für das Frühstück - über dem Fluß (ca. 3 Minuten entfernt) eine schöne Bar/Bistro neben der Brücke und Boomerang Bistro. Lage des Hotels recht gut - Boat Quay und Clark Quay ca- 15-20 Minuten entfernt - ja nach Laufgeschwindigkeit. Metro/MRTClark Quay weiter - ein kleiner Nachteil. Busse direkt vor dem Hotel. Wireless kosten 24 Singdollar am Tag. Late check-out bis 18:00 Uhr gegen 50% Zimmeraufschlag möglich ARGERLICH - am Tag des Late Checkouts (bei uns 19:00 Uhr, da unser Flug um Mitternacht war) wurde das Zimmer gar nicht gereinigt. Aber ca. 60 Singdollar standen auf der Rechnung. Staff an der Rezeption: Sorry Sir, Sorry Sir (hauptsächlich Chinesen - Englisch Kenntnisse SEHR variabel - unser Fehler auch, dass wir nicht chinesisch sprechen können) aber wollten das Geld behalten. Beschwerden mit Nachdruck hat dazu geführt, dass wir das Late-Checkout-Geld zurüch erhielten. Alles in Allem - na ja - für dieses Geld gibt es in Singapore auch andere Möglichkeiten zu übernachten - vor allen Dingen näher zur Metro/MRT am Boat Quay und Clark Quay. In dieser Gegend buchstälich hunderte Lokale, Bars, Restaurants - hier steppt der Bär (aber auch in Chinatown). Also - mit der Buchung des Hotels würde ich vorsichtig sein - vorher unbedingt mit anderen Hotels vergleichen. Mehr

Klimaanlage war ziemlich laut, abends war das Zimmer aufgrund der Terassenbeleuchtung ebenfalls hell beleuchtet.

Das Hotel war für den Preis width:en wir bezahlt haben ok. Nichts aussergewöhliches. Die Zimmer waren jedoch nur in einem mittelmässigen Zustand. Der Teppich war sehr fleckig und das Badezimmer lies auch zu wünschen übrig. Alles in allem ok, aber gibt sicher bessere Hotels zu einem vergleichbaren Preis in Singapur.

The hotel allows their contractor to perform refurbishing work on their function rooms. The noise woke us up on Sunday morning and we could not have a sleep-in on Sunday. Other than this incident, I'm quite happy with the hotel.

never come accross any hotel which is so untidy in my entire carrier, shocked at the attitude of the receptionist when he was informed about the status of the room. he just mentioned to us to upgrade the room by paying extra cost & we had to oblige because we wanted a better cleaner atmosphere to live in. food was below average. overall bad experie […] nce. Restaurants and cafes of Robertson Quay are only a short walk away. For anything else you need to take a taxi. If you are looking for a basic, clean room with a comfortable bed, this is a good deal. The service is not comparable with some of the other hotels in the area, such as Studio M, etc. Very popular with Chinese tourists.

Stayed at the hotel March 2012 for long w/e. Frosty, haughty receptionist,we asked about internet code as it`s states in the hotel info. that free wifi was available were told not if you book with Hotels.com !! 25sd a day to use it !!. The breakfast was good & the room ok altho we`d booked a superior king & were given twin beds & I certainly don`t think […] a superior room as it was quite small. Mehr

We had a very enjoyable stay and would certainly tell our friends about it.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times before on business trips. The same room but now stray hairs behind bathroom door, stained furniture and leaking taps. I turned on "clean room" button before going out and the room remained "untouched" 7 hours later on returning; and a further 1 hour for the domestic staff to finally arrive. My reservation clearly […] stated complimentary wireless internet access but I was told otherwise. However, this was satisfactorily resolved on production of "paper proof". It is a great hotel with good services, the breakfast is good, the lounge has good band that is beyond expectation. Room size is reasonable and clean. Overall excellent value.

Front desk staff was very mean... we checked in late (after midnight) but she never smile, no greeting whatsoever... we paid quite a lot because it was a Christmas time but it was not worth it at all. The bathroom was dirty... the worst trash can you can ever seen! Only the breakfast buffet was okay.

Considering the fact that Singapore hotels are soo expensive, this one seems to be the best option. Decent rooms, good staff, decently located.

Super value, clean and friendly.

Excellent hotel, good breakfast. Nice pool (small, but big enough to swim about do a few lengths) One niggle... why in this day and age to they make expensive extra charge for wireless. I just don't get it! As I didn't need wireless that often some reception staff were generous to give a pass - but we shouldn't have to do all that. Found staff unfriendly Small rooms with drab decor Carpets needed cleaning

I stayed 2 night in the hole room 501, but I spent most of time outside of the hotel. I didn't report the problem to the hotel, the sink draining was slightly blocked. I chose to stay at this hotel for a second time as i was happy with my room and the location of the hotel the first time i stayed here. The price of a room here has increased dramatically since my first stay 2 years ago and this time around i stayed in a superior room for considerably more than i paid for a deluxe room previously. The superior room […] was fine, nice and clean with a flatscreen TV, however, these rooms are very small with barely enough room for the bed. This did not bother me but if you are looking for a spacious room this is not the room for you. I like the location of this hotel, it's only a S$5-6 taxi ride to Orchard Rd or Marina Bay Sands and it is possible to walk back to the hotel taking in the sights of Fort Canning Park coming back from Orchard Rd or the Merlion, Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay if walking back from Marina Bay Sands. I had breakfast included with my room but i would strongly recommend that you save your money and eat breakfast somewhere else. This is one of the worst breakfast buffets i have experienced anywhere in the world. Powdered scrambled eggs, terrible bacon, stale croissants, horrible horrible coffee and the list goes on. The breakfast was a let down from what otherwise is a good hotel. The service we received from the front desk staff and the concierge was fantastic and included being checked in early (11am) and looking after our bags while waiting for our flight after checkout. Room service was good and reasonably priced. For the area and the price i would recommend this hotel for a short stay, just don't get the breakfast! Mehr

Clean and comfortable. Good value for money

A bit dated but a nice hotel, service was very good, staff friendly.

we will quite disappointed with the size of the room at Copthrone King's. At a rating of 4 stars, we would expect a reasonable size room.

Dated decor, my room in the tower wing reeked of cigarette smoke, was poorly maintained and not particularly clean - with pubic hair in the bath tub. 4 star prices with 2 star offering, very disappointing.

When I arrived pretty tired from my trip and wanting a shower and rest I found the room had a plumbing problem and water was leaking on the bathroom floor and out onto the carpet. Also the phones didn't work properly. Tho the staff was pleasant and helpful and fixed the problems in about 2hours, it was very inconvenient. Maintenance of the room wasn't […] good. Hotel is very old (70's) and unrenovated. Carpet was very dirty in our room and room was small. If I knew I would never book it, not 4 stars at all. Not even 3. Hotel staff was pleasant and professional. I would never recommend this hotel.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Slightly outside the main city centre but ok if you don't mind walking. Room was at the back where there are some noise air con turbines on the ground floor.

Tiny room, very old, expensive. Breakfast was terrible

This hotel was away from the city centre but with a complementary bus service - a large shopping centre was within walking distance. Facilities were very good, staff helpful and friendly, room service efficieint and pleasant.

It was cheap (for Singapore) though.

Few downsides: lots of omld in tub and shower corners, carpet a bit stained, horrible generator noise next to the pool so you cannot enjoy peace of it and have to talk loud to speak to anyone there, neither sauna or steam room worked well and jacuzzi never warmed up. Too far from public transportation or subway/trains. You cannot enjoy a meal from the […] so-called terrace unless you are a club guest. Mehr

This place needs a serious revamp. Everything is dated and the service is disappointing. Told the conceirge that I wanted a taxi at a certain time. Time came and went, he was talking to a friend, and I had to remind him about the taxi!

The hotel is well presented and in a good location near the center. The rooms well furnished and clean. However, the breakfast was very disappointing, the bed rock solid and the room carpet covered in staines. With a bit more attention to detail the hotel could be so much more enjoyable. Good points: 1. Big and spacious deluxe room; balcony is a plus, providing splendid view of the Singapore River environment. 2. This is a basic and nice hotel with nice and helpful staff. It is not far from the city centre but maybe a little far if you would like to walk. I just stayed here for one night, but I really liked the outdoor pool area. The only negative thing was that I booked a room with a queen size bed but what I got was a room with two single beds. A very good hotel that is 15 minutes from downtown/convention center of Singapore. The hotel staff is quite professional and my room was every bit modern and very comfortable. However, you pay a daily fee - best to check what that will be - for an internet connection. Overall, I was pleased with the hotel and would stay there again.

Unfortunately this hotel was not what they advertised at all. Rooms were very shabby and not well maintained. The staff were not friendly nor helpful and very very slow. We had upgraded to the club room and lounge which was extremely disappointing - literally no breakfast on our first morning aside from some bread and jams. When I asked for an egg they […] said not available. We ended up in the main restaurant for breakfast after that which seemed a waste of money having upgraded. Not very convenient location (far from MRT stations or inexpensive restaurants) but bus terminals are nearby, taxi fares are very reasonable and taxi drivers are polite and efficient plus the hotel is just a few minutes (scenic) walk away from Robertson Quay and Singapore River; Small room (as expected) and the food quality wasn't that great but the […] service and room and hotel amenities made up for it. Fabulous hotel. Staff, oh so friendly, and willing to please. Needs "acceptable" outside smoking area, so ALL feel comfortable. Currently, NOTHING, Down side: Middle town- no local shops/bars In fact, posh hotel, for rep ('cos he can claim his expenses.........and worthy of no more)
