Conveniently located to many lovely shops and excellent restaurants. Large beautiful rooms and friendly accommodating staff. Loved the thoughtful touches, like chocolate on your pillow, champagne at arrival, thank you gift bag when you leave and parking included. We will deffinately come again.

The best part about the Haywood Park hotel is the location. Right in downtown near great restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is also in very good shape. It is clean and comfortable with large rooms. Also, it was very quiet during my stay. The only drawback, if you want to call it that, is that it aims to be high end with some of the room details, […] but it doesn't quite hit the mark. That's probably nitpicking. Overall, strongly recommended if you want to stay in the heart of Asheville and have a quick walk to everything. Mehr

My husband and I stayed in March, 2012 and loved this hotel. In the heart of downtown Asheville and walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, art galleries. The staff was so friendly and attentive and the hotel was a former department store that was converted to a hotel. They did a fabulous job! Note to hotel owners: you should all greet arriving guests with a cold drink. We were offered water or champagne as soon as we walked in, and that level of hospitality remained constant for our whole stay. We're considering moving to Asheville, and I know when we do, we'll encourage anyone who comes to visit to stay at the Haywood.

Impeccable service. This place will be my go-to hotel for any and all future trips to Asheville.

The location in downtown Asheville can't be beat. Hotel staff very accommodating. Will definitely be back!

Haywood Park is a beautiful facility in a wonderful location. The only shortcoming is the detached, slow moving, couldn't really be bothered front desk staff. Must be union members or something.

Very nice hotel. Customer service was very friendly. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was big and clean. By nice to be in the middle of town and not have to drive anywhere. Will stay again soon.

We'll be back! Why stay anywhere else? Everything was great except maintenance. Understandably, a couple of items couldn't be addressed without the outlay of thousands of dollars. I reviewed the items that needed attention with the front desk employee.

This was my second stay at the Haywood Park Hotel. I love being downtown and close to good restaurants, shops and galleries. The rooms are large and the staff very friendly. When driving south, I will always stay with them.

we enjoyed the proximity to downtown asheville, the courteous receptionists and maids...the bathroom tub wasnt that clean and the bed (although the sheets and linens were nice) was terribly uncomfortable...there was a huge sinkhole in the middle

My room at the Haywood was great, however after I left I noticed white paint had dripped on my car from wherever the valet parked it. Sorry to leave a bad review for an otherwise great stay, but after spending two hours scrubbing and still not getting all of the paint off I can't recommend the hotel to anyone!

Walking distance to great downtown scene. 10 min easy drive to Biltmore. Spacious Rooms and Free Valet Parking! Room could have been cleaned better during multiple night stay, but ok. Great Amenities! Would stay again and definitely big enough for 4 people in double queen.

This is a hotel converted from the premises of a department store. It is downtown, within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants and shops. We had stayed at a B&B on our last trip to Asheville, and found this was much more convenient as a base for walking around and enjoying the town.

We had to check out early because of family issues. The hotel was very accomodating even though we booked through hotels.com. They worked with us to get things settled quickly! Highly recommend the hotel.

We wanted a downtown location so that we could walk to all local shops and restaurants- this was perfect. The room was very large- we had a sitting area that worked out very nicely for us. Truffles on the pillow each night was a lovely touch. Would stay here again for a trip to Asheville!

Just lovely. Great location. Could walk to dinner and choose from a dozen restaurants. Would stay again at the drop of a hat.

Great hotel in a converted department store. Rooms are huge!

If you want to be close to the action, this is the place. 1 block from early girl, tupelo honey, and everything else. Loved it. Don't order room service from solice, yuck.

If you want to be in downtown Asheville, this is the hotel. You are right in the thick of all the shops and restaurants in downtown. The staff were all very nice, gracious and helpful. The room was nice and well-appointed, with a very large bathroom. The turndown chocolates from the chocolate store next door were awesome. As I understood it, the hotel […] was an old department store so it has an odd layout. But I sensed that the hotel was getting a little dated. In the lobby, everything was very clean and nice, but the carpet and fixtures just looked a little dated and past their prime. In the room, the walls were clean, but it looked like they could use a new coat of paint - not from being dirty, just from looking flat. There was a small flatscreen TV but there were almost no HD channels and the cable connection for the other channels was very grainy. Overall, I loved the location and had absolutely no complaints, just a sense that for the money it wasn't quite all I would have expected. But let me be clear that this is a very nice hotel with all the comforts you need, and I can't imagine a better location if you want to stay in town in Asheville. If I could give it 4.5 stars I certainly would have done that. But because it somehow intangibly and almost imperceptibly missed my expectations, I didn't give it a 5 overall. Mehr

Our reservations and stay went well. We love the location of the hotel. The area and building have history, but for the price of the hotel I think it is time for them to upgrade the rooms. And though we were just staying one night our cold water quick working th evening we checked in and wasn't fixed before we left. This meant no showers due to only […] the scaldin ghot water working. i brought this up to the front desk and the explaination was that this was an old building and things like this happen sometimes. Next time we go to Asheville we will find somewhere newer. But hey, they did give us 2 ranola bars and some water for our ride home. Mehr

We booked the hotel while on the road. I didn't get a chance to really look at any pictures of the property. Now if I had payed half the price I would have been pleased with the accomodations but with rates that high i think a hotel should be kept up to date. The decor was circa 80's and we weren't exactly warmly greeted. The room was quite spacious […] and there was an excellent tub. The bathroom in the lobby is pretty shabby. The location saves this place though. It is perfectly situated to enjoy downtown by foot. Mehr

I just stayed two nights at the Hotel. They did not have any restaurant open as it was undergoing a renovation. The front desk staff was very helpful in suggesting local restaurants etc. and the hotel is centrally located right in the downtown area. You can easily walk the city from their location. The have covered parking that is free and a small but […] adequate fitness area. They do not have an enclosed business center - it is just a computer in the middle of the lobby. The hotel looks like it needs to be renovated especially for the prices they charge. Mehr

My husband and I loved this hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful and it's right in the middle of everything. The rooms were very nice and very comfy. The only thing I didn't really like was the TV was very small for such a big room. I've stayed in tiny hotel rooms who had TV's that were WAY too big. This one was just tiny. Other than the small […] TV It was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. We will be staying here from now on when we come to Asheville. Mehr

I had the grand king (just under the superior). The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. You may want to request additional pillows as they only provide two non-decorative pillows. The bathroom could use some updating. The bathroom look like it was out of the eighties and the towel bars and other hardware was not very nice (but it was functional). […] My wife got a real kick out of the faucets, which are VERY phalic looking (I had never seen a faucet like this one). All in all the hotel was nice and conveniently located - it just needs to update its lobby and the bathrooms. Mehr

A luxurious surprise for the money- and very convenient to the shops, restaurants and fun ambience of the town of Asheville. Large room with a huge bathroom, very comfortable. We arrived at midnight, but were warmly welcomed at check-in. We'll be back again.

Asheville is such a cool city and the Haywood is right in the middle of it all. Huge room with all you need. Highly recommend grabbing breakfast at "Early Girl" just across the street.

Very Pleasant Hotel but the staff were strangely detached and seemed downbeat and depressed.Despite-perhaps because-there were no other guests we were virtually ignored

For the past several years my wife and I have gone to Asheville in January to celebrate her birthday. Previously we have stayed in a bed and breakfast and the large hotel on a hill just north of town. This is the BEST! The rooms are large and well furnished. The location is GREAT. Many excellent restaurants and tourist MUST SEES are closeby. Many of […] them you can walk to (2-5 blocks away). Free parking and you seldom have to move your car. The staff is very helpful. We are sending all of our friends there and we'll be back next year. Mehr
