Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel - Tuen Mun

Das Gold Coast Hotel liegt etwas abseits des Stadtzentrums, was es aber sehr interessant macht. etwa 100m vom Hotel gibt es einen Strand zum Spazieren und sogar ein paar öffentliche Grillplätze mit Meerblick. Die Stadt ist mit dem Hotelshuttle oder dem ÖV gut zu erreichen. Das kostet zwar extra, ist aber zu verkraften. Dafür kann man abends gut entspannen […] und ist abseits der grossen Hektik. Dank Nachtbus kann man auch bis spät in der Nacht in Hong Kong unterwegs sein. Etwa 200m vom Hotel gibt es ein kleines Einkaufszentrum mit Supermarkt, Geldautomat, Restaurants & Fast Food, Bars und kleinen Geschäften. Hier kann man nett und mit Meerblick Frühstücken, Essen oder einfach etwas trinken. Vor allem das Restaurant (bzw. die Bar) im oberen Stock ist sehr gut, aber leicht zu übersehen. Mehr

It was perfect location and we were upgraded to a balcony and itwas lovely to sit out and look at the marina. Breakfast was good and the restaurants nearby were a treat as we could choose which type of food we wanted each night. Not too busy with people and only 35 minutes by taxi to the airport.

Simon was so helpful and accommodating. The room was the cleanest I have ever stayed in although very small (usual for Hong Kong though). The building it was in wasnt great but you only have to walk through it and it was in a great location. Great value, I highly recommend this guesthouse!!

Stayed at the Gold Coast after a cruise and found the hotel and staff above our expectations. The only issue was the hardness of the bed, but think that is the norm in Asia. Easy access to transportation and the Air Port.

Nice environment, nice beach, nice hotel room and reasonable price! I'm a local residence, I enjoy coming here for a relaxing weekend~ Frankly, if travellers want to experience a cosmopolitan city and an energetic and wonderful night life in Hong Kong, you may be a bit disappointed coz this hotel is quite far away from the down town, like Central. Great place to relax, good food at hotel and within 5 min. walk on the property. Will return in fall for another relaxing time. Quite, neat view, no car horns, and onlt 30 min via hotel bus should you want to go to inner Hong Kong, we went one afternoon, no need to leave hotel again.

Excellent in every respect

Hotel lobby and surrounds plus facilities are very nice. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with the rooms. Have stayed in this Hotel on a number of occassions as its location is conveniently located to family members, while I may consider staying here again I would not recommend this Hotel to other Family and Friends who wish to spend time in HK. […] Please, please would ask that the hotel management spend some effort in updating rooms furnitures and fixtures. Can be rather noisy with group tours coming into the Hotel, some can be rather inconsiderate of other guests with loud chatter in passageways. Mehr

the room is big and the environment is good. You can also go to beach for swimming the Convenience of hotel location is actually cool. You can see Mc Donald , 7-11 and different type food restaurant. Totally , i think it is a good hotel for family vacation in HK

This is the first time we stay in this hotel. Eventhough it is located 30minutes travel time from the airport, the taxi fare cost HK$200 plus. we think it is worth it. The hotel is clean and roommy. the conciege is very helpful. The hotel has a shuttle bus service to the town in central Kowloon with a minimal charge of HK$30 one way. It is also worth […] it. The singaporean restaurant 'SATAY INN' was nice and good. the only thing, I didnt like ..was, I requested NO corner room and near lift in my booking, but the hotel staff still arranged the corner room to me, even there was a balcony. Anyway, overall was good.

I was not looking to travel much on this trip and was very delighted with the hotel. Very convenient and the people was nice. Nice get away with the beach across the street. Go here if you want a nice place to get away and relax. Everything was nice.

This hotel was a dream. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean and inviting. The fitness facility was well equipped for both cardio and strength training. Nearby are many restaurants and a well stocked grocery store. Stayed here only for one night but enjoyed our stay! The hotel did not have the king size bed we had wished for available so we had a free upgrade to a Grandluxe Seaview room. And the sea view really was wonderful! Balcony was spacious and had good chairs and a table. Room itself was very large with a beautiful and large bathroom. Very comfy beds (our […] 4 yr daughter had her own queen sized bed!!) but some might find the mattresses a bit too hard. The pool looks very nice (did not try it as it is not heated and the weather was too cold...) and the grounds are beautiful. Nice playground for children and easy access to the beach. We tried the Cafe Lagoon buffet dinner. They have a very wide selection of foods but we found the price too high for the quality. Overall a nice stay but the location could be better. Mehr

didn't look much like the photos on the website, a little run down on the outside. would still recommend it as it's right on the coast and get a decent view of the ocean. the only thing i didn't like was it wasnt' possible to open the windows (they'd been bolted shut) so instead of sea air had to make do with the dry stuff pumped in through the a.c. One […] tip is you can pick up the 962 bus outside the hotel which will take you straight into HK, much faster than trying to use the MTR. Mehr

The view is magnificent from the room (stayed on 16th floor out of 18). Free wifi. Great facilities. The kids loved the big playground at the end of the enormous hotel garden. Due to the winter season, the pool area was closed, but when I stayed here about 6 yrs ago during summer time I enjoyed the swimming pool everyday. I love this hotel!

Very comfortable. Has a shuttle that goes to the city. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Would stay at hotel again!

The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings with a lovely outdoor swimming pool and a few minutes walk to the beach. The room is very spacious with good size balcony overlooking the marina. The buffet at the cafe Lagoon is worth trying though there are many restaurants at the nearby piazza. The hotel provides free wifi is a bonus. Peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of city life. If you like shopping there is the regular minibus service to the heart of Kowloon. A very good location of mix and match and excellent for family with children as there is a beach area closeby.

The view is great & the room is clean & spacious. It would be nicer if free shuttle bus to near by MTR station is provided.

Lovely, clean and spacious hotel. We had 2 inter-connecting rooms as we were travelling with our 3 children aged 5 - 10. We spent a full week here and were very comfortable. We knew there would be a 45min trip in to Central so it was no surprise, but it was tiring at the end of a long day. So it's a choice between space and fresher air at the gold coast, […] or the convenience of being in town. However all 3 kids thought the hotel was the best thing in H.K. and with hotter weather we could have used the pool more. So I would heartily recommend it. After the smog of the city it's great to come back to a lovely view and really comfortable rooms. We used the bus to get about, supplemented by taxis, which are incredibly cheap. We had breakfast in the piazza area in one of the restaurants there and did not bother with the very expensive hotel breakfasts. Great takeaway pizzas from Resto! Mehr

I'v booked it because it was indicated 8,5km distanse from airport, but in fact its 30 minutes drive (only taxi). But the hotel is good and not expensive.

We were impressed with the quality and comfort of the rooms. Staff was friendly at check-in. Very prompt when we called for an iron and board. One down side is they charge for the shuttle to and from the airport. Taxi was cheaper. Would come back.

I used to live in GoldCoast as a kid and had always wanted to stay in this hotel. Finally got a chance and it was every bit as good as I thought it might be. Great views (all rooms have sea view) and lovely staff. There was some building work outside and they happily swapped me to a quieter and even nicer room, The bar is lovely, the facilities are […] brilliant (swimming pool,spa,gym..etc), the restaurant is first class. Ok it is not in Hong Kong city centre, but this is a beach resort hotel so no complain there. Commute to HK central is every bit as easy as there are 24hr buses outside and the hotel itself runs good shuttlebus services. I give it 9* out of 10. Mehr

The hotel is a nice place but MINiMUM 40 min drive. When rushhour it´s easy 60 min. If you want to explore downtown Hongkong=this is the wrong place. If you want EVENTUALLY go into town but generally hang out and relax, this place is fine.

It's a nice hotel with reasonable price, unfortunately only stay overnight, far from shopping area or other attraction except the beach.

good value if you are looking for a getaway from the mass humanity of HK, our 16 yr old son is only just getting over the ear infection he picked up from the swimming pool, more chlorine please!

The room was very comfort, though the location is very far from main city. But, it is expensive. Till, I stayed there, there were very prompt to my queries. But on the last day it changed.

After checking in to are room we were very hungry....Went to the hotels cafe to get a bite, we were seated outside, sit there for 35 minutes with out any body attending to us, no food no water. the place was not busy at all.....seems to us they might not care to much for americans....Will never stay at this hotel again.....BEWARE...

This will be our 4th time staying at the Gold Coast in Hong Kong. The main reason why we like it so much is that it is away from all the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. But at the same time it is very easy to get to downtown Hong Kong because they offer shuttle service to and from every 30 minutes, you have to allow a little time for the ride. the staff at this hotel are not friendly, the hotel is 30 minutes away from the main tourist places in hong kong by bus,, there are a few restaurants nearby the hotel, but not much nightlife.the hotel itself is beautiful .

Nice and quiet place tucked away from the hustle bustle of the city. Great place with good connecting transportation.

The only disappointing aspect of this Hotel was the poor standard of the rooms. We have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions and on our last visit it was very obvious that the quality of the rooms had declined. With our initial room we found the carpets, curtains and furnishings were very dirty and asked to be moved to another room. While the […] quality of the second room was a little cleaner, it still was not up to the standard we expected. The Hotel should focus its attention on refurbishing all rooms to be it up to a standard which we expect of a 41/2* rating. Public areas of the Hotel were beautifully maintained and we experience excellent and professional service from all staff. Location was perfect for us as it was a great place to escape the busy Kowloon tourist centre. Great Hotel to unwind and regain your energy. approximately 35mins from the Hong Kong international airport. Hotel shuttle drop and pick up passengers ever hour. Staff are friendly and arrange tour and taxies. Gold cost hotel is situated near the sea and many resturants and two small super markets are near to it.

Service was great; got upgraded to a room with balcony. Clean and spacious but bathroom needs an upgrade, could not adjust shower head and placing of the shower head led to dripping to the floor. Otherwise problem free and it was a nice stay.
