We have stayed in Melbourne a number of times over the years and each time have tried a different hotel in a different part of the city. After our latest visit I think that will change. This establishment, whilst certainly not in the "luxury"class, did cater for all our needs at a good price and in an excellent location. The room was reasonably sized, […] fitted out and well maintained, as was the remainder of the establishment. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Flinders St Station is less than 5 minutes walk away and tram lines heading in all directions even less. Supermarkets, bars, cafes, restaurants and theatres are all literally "just around the corner" and Crown Casino is only a pleasant 10 minute walk across the river. Mehr

I would have given this a 5 star review if I hadn't had a terrible sleep due to the noise from the street. Although it wasn't the hotel's fault that bars were emptying bottles into bins at 5 am or that drunk people were singing outside the window at 3 am, the windows could have been a lot better and perhaps the hotel could have warned us and provided […] some earplugs. Loosely fitting single pane of glass windows aren't enough to keep out CBD noise. The location was fantastic, being so close to all the coffee lanes, train stations, attractions etc. Couldn't be any better! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean and tastefully decorated. The room was ample in size. Not a lot of natural light but we were only sleeping there so not too bothered. We could hear the TV from the room next door so soundproofing could be a little better. Although the place was generally in great condition, 2 or 3 light bulbs in the living room didn't work and the remote control for the TV didn't work. I would stay there again and highly recommend it if the noise problem wasn't such an issue. Mehr

Fantastic, we were so happy with the location, presentation and cleanliness of the room; and the well equipped kitchenette. Another pleasing aspect was the polite and helpful staff. Have already booked another stay.

I've stayed at three different Punthill Apartments and each have been great. This property is conveniently located in Melbourne's CBD near the cute little alleys of food and shops. The staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful. They really do their best to accommodate early check-ins!

In the 'cultural' heart of Melbourne, Punt Hill Appartments Finders Lane will not disappoint! Ideal location, friendly service and well priced.

Very happy stay!! friendly,helpful proprietor. lovely room and perfectly situated to access all the best eateries and entertainment in Melbourne CBD. Will return!!

Fantastic location and great rooms. We unfortunately stayed over a very busy weekend and couldn't change rooms. We were on the 1st floor facing the street and the late night revellers and the garbage trucks kept us awake most of the nights. Thursday to Saturday were all noisy. Price is good with the deals and the location is perfect for everything, […] especially breakfasts but just try to arrange a quiet room off the street. Mehr

Great location easy access to all transport Street noise innitially disturbing but after couple of nights, became accostomed to it. Staff very helpful. would recommend to others.

The position of the Appartments in Flinders Lane makes it terribly noisy of a night time.With all the eateries in the vicinity,they have to have their rubbish removed each nignt or early morning which creates a lot of noise with rubbish trucks.Our appartment also had very noisy floorboards - I would have hated to have the appartment directly underneath […] mine.Maybe an appartmnent further towards the rear of the complex may not have these problems,but they did spoil our stay Mehr

Great Location in the Heart of Melbourne! Alfresco dining below our window in side street and busking maybe a little noisy at night - but you must expect this in a city area. Dont stay on first floor (room 109) as this is above a cafe and laneway that has refrigeration machines droning all night through the bedroom window. My husband could not sleep […] - we had to use ear plugs to get just a little sleep at night. But overall, a great place to stay, clean and welcoming - loved the cat on the windowsill... Mehr

I can highly recommend this hotel apartment. It is in a good location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Stayed at this hotel for a week. We had a one bedroom with a good sized living room and a full kitchen. Nice desk as well as a separate table. Two Tvs. Chairs weren't so great- - molded plastic; but the bed and sofa were comfortable. There is a large supermarket around the corner so it was easy to eat many meals at the room. Full complement of dishes […] pots and utensils. Serviced every day. Very centrally located, just a half block from a stop for the free tram that circles the business district. On a little alleyway with boutiques and shops. Close to theaters and Chinatown and good restaurants. Liked it a lot. Mehr

The location was great albiet a little noisy due to the popular Flinders Lane. The apartment was very upmarket and trendy in decor. Loved it. Would definitely stay again.

Room was large, comfortable & clean. Have stayed in many hotels in Melbourne and was very impressed and happy with this hotel. It was right in the centre of Melbourne which was excellent. The only thing that i could complain about was that I was on the first floor overlooking the street which at times was quite busy and quite noisy. But you have to […] expect that in a main city. We enjoyed our weekend here. It was a great base to explore the city..close to everything. Clean, comfortable & modern. Friendly staff, I would recommend Punthill Flinders Lane.

The place was great. It was exactly as described. Our room was clean and the hotel service (front desk, cleaning, etc) was great. All very helpful and polite. However, noise from the busy street below was quite loud. I am a heavy sleeper, so it didn't bother me as much but if you were a light sleeper I was strongly take this into account. There were […] rubbish trucks and other various cars going past that can be heard clearly from the 2nd level (where we were) so it can make sleeping in a little hard. But other than the noise factor everything else is perfect. But once again please take into mind the noise, because for me personally there was no problem but for others there might. Mehr

The first night the room turned out to be above the laundry. So, from about 1 am there was a drone throughout the room - i mean the the whole wooden floor resonated, not like a noisy aircon out the window. Luckily the apartment had another room with single bed so could get some sleep. Next morning had multiple door knocks though do not disturb sign […] was out. Eventually phone rang, reception stated they wanted to do a property inspection of apartment because it was being sold, no request or apology. Later was able to change apartment at reception without any hassle. Still, something of a joke for a place that uses hotel in its name. Other than the first night, was a good stay - good location, a touch touristy but convenient. Oh and the map from hotels.com was inaccurate - showed the location as being further down the road, which was one way, so added $10 to the cab fair because had to loop around. Mehr

My wife and I are retired. We spent 2 nights here in early December. Hotel location very convenient indeed for city centre facilities, shops, eating, etc. Very comfortable room with good facilities. Overall very satisfied, and would book here again. On the slight downside, our particular room had very little daylight; only one window, which looked out […] on a blank brick wall only a few metres away. No idea if that's typical or not of other rooms in this hotel. Only other comment is that although INTERNET was available there were limitations. Each room seemed to have facility for you to cable connect your own laptop, if you had one (we did). That, however, seemed to be the only good news; there was only one terminal provided by the hotel itself, and they were charging both for using it and for using your own laptop. We dont understand why this and so many many other hotels all over the world still think it's right to charge people for using the Internet. Why dont they make it free, and just add $5 or something to the nightly room-rate. There are places like coffee shops and indeed some or many hotels where it IS FREE; so why dont they wake up and realise that it's a marketing mistake not to make it free. Mehr

Great service, Great Accommodation, Great Apartments, Great location. Just an overall great place to stay and will be staying there more often.

I would recommend this hotel to all.The location is superb for city shopping, sight seeing and transport links, rooms are modern, clean, quiet (considering surrounded by cafe nightlife!) and bright, and staff were very friendly. I will definately be back to stay at Punthill Flinders Lane while in Melbourne.

Wonderfullylocated, in the heart of Melbourne. Centrally located within walking or tram distance fron events, Yarra River, restaurants, cafe's and shopping. A must place to stay.

Very convenient location for all the sights Melbourne has to offer. Reception staff friendly & helpful. However, don't know whether it's 4 star - maybe 31/2.

Staff were polite and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy. Everything was fantastic. Will definitely stay here again. The Punthill Flinders Lane is on a busy street, but you wouldn't know...the only things you can hear from the room are the trams as they turn the corner and some muffled sounds from the streets below, but this was only really on the busy […] night of Friday...but it is all part of the city life of Melbourne! The apartment complex is also close to everything, and is just a short walk to fantastic restaurants, the Bourke Street Mall and Her Majesty's Theatre or a short tram ride to Bridge Road and Chapel Street. Can't recommend this hotel more! Mehr

Avons été très satisfaits de notre séjour au Punthil de Flinders Lane. L'hôtel est très bien situé, au coeur d'un beau quartier central animé et très pratique pour les transports. Bien organisé, propre, appartement spacieux avec tout sous la main (cuisine équipée, produits de vaisselle, thé, café, même du lait dans le réfrigérateur à notre arrivée). […] Je reviendrais sans hésiter ou réserverais dans un autre Punthill sans souci.
