The Elizabeth Hotel - Singapur

We purchased the executive package and was very happy with the service overall. The continental breakfast selection was not great, but for the money, it was not bad. Included in the executive package was 2 pieces of free laundry everyday, which was a great convenience considering the hot and humid weather in Singapore. And it was nice not to have a […] suitcase full of dirty and smelly laundry at the end of the 6-day trip. The hotel room itself has been renovated last year, eventhough it was small, but adequate enough for a coulple. The bed was not that comfortable, but this is not a 5-star hotel, so please don't expect the mattress to be as comfortable as a Simmons Beautyrest. The location is right off the shopping area on Orchard Road hiding in a quiet neighborhood among other residential high-rises. The best thing was the fitness center. Because the fitness center is currently under renovation, so the hotel guests got to use the fitness center at the Quincy right next door. It was very nice! Mehr

My latest stay was fabulous. The room on the Executive floor was excellent. I was in Singapore for some surgery (as I reside in Indonesia). The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, from the concierge, front desk, to the restaurant. My previous stay at the Elizabeth the week before was not as good. My room was on the 9th floor, the smoking […] floor, was not as pleasant. I did not request the smoking floor but I made my reservation late so I did not complain. Mehr

Hotel was good as always and very convenient for Orcjard road... Rooms ok but carpet in room very dirty with lots of large stains, this should never happen! and nbot difficult to clean carpets . B

Very nice clean hotel. Close to everything. Friendly helpful staff. Nice room, comfortable bed, big bathroom, great flat screen tv. I will definitely stay there again.

The best thing about the hotel is its location - close to the "Golden Mile" of Orchard Road, yet removed from the hustle and bustle, especially at night. Service is OK but not attentive. Considering the generally high hotel prices in Singapore today, this is a fair deal.

The hotel is in a great location, 5 mins walk down to the middle of Orchard Rd. The rooms were small but modern and clean, strangely they both had floor to ceiling windows in the shower looking into the bedroom. There was a blind to pull down, but I wouldn't recommend sharing the room with someone you didnt know well! Maybe not all rooms are like this, […] but both of ours were. We didnt try the restaurant, preferring to eat at the many great places nearby, but it looked reasonably good. Mehr

Enjoyed the stay -tho brief. Loved the little homely touches -bowl of fruit on each floor! Friendly staff. Will recommend to others! Good value for money.

the hotel is quite near orchard road but when you have elderly around it will not be advisable because you need to walk a little while to get to orchard or back to the hotel not unless you always take a cab...another thing is there is no one in the entrance to greet the tourist excpt that when you get into the hotel the receptionist are quite frien […] dly. We got a pleasant surpise when we checked in and found out that we were upgraded in a newly renovated room. Great christmas gift. Hotel location- except for the slight uphill climb after a long day of walking around, my family was very much satisfied with our stay in this hotel.

Close to Orchard Rd and the top notch shopping precints. Helpful staff. Good restaurant. The only problem being that we booked an executive suite, with 2 beds and smoking facilities. We had 3 room changes in less than an hour because they did not read the booking properly. We were given to understand that there was a courtessy transport to and from the airport. Upon informingthe hotel of our arrival times in Singapore we were told they had no such agreement, initially they said there was no record of our booking and eventually they said the booking was ok but we would have to pay for the taxi. All this communication was […] through email from australia, After much confusion they said if we produce a print out of these conditions on arrival they would consider it. We were met at the airport, and did not pay the taxi, still after showing the print out to them they were reluctant to agree. however they did. It did not please us to go through all this uncertainty. One other thing was that uncomfortable was the air conditioning was far too cold ans no matter what the control was set at nothing changed. We love the hotel very much. It's so clean and the location is so near to the malls and very convenient for mrt. I love the bed and pillows so much. very very comfy. Would love to stay there again.

This hotel is in a good location and within walking distance of good restaurants and shopping centres. The front desk staff are courteous and polite. We complained about the air conditioning and they wasted no time and attended to the problem quickly and fixed it too. The hotel is a bit dated but otherwise is comfortable. I have visited more than 15 countries this is the worse of all ,it should be motel or shelter, smelly room full of dust mites,noisy, construction till 9pm !! smelly refreg. ,carpet is historical ,matress is 100 y old , the TV is from 1955 ! few chanell the room is so so in human for 3 stars fit for dogs

The Hotel is conveniently located. Staff are sort of friendly and helpful. Lousy over-priced breakfast buffet. Corridors smell rather musty and old. The room was fine though. We were upgraded as the type of room we reserved was not available. If I can find a hotel close to Orchard Road of comparable cost, I would prefer to stay elsewhere.

I just left the hotel a few days ago and they told me the rooms were under renovation and there might be some noise. They didn't tell me they would begin hammering at 9AM in the room over my bed and that the jack-hammering would begin at ten. It was so loud I couldn't hear the TV at it's highest level. Other than that, service was good and the location […] very convenient to shopping. One thing was that I noticed they didn't have any wash cloths in the room. I don't know if this was an oversight or intentional. Overall this needs the renovation. Furniture was old and dated. Mehr

ok if you are not looking for glitz.Very clean. Short walk to Orchard Rd. down hill. Located more in condo area. Small standard room ok for 1. Good service. Friendly staff.

Hotel is a 5 minute walk from Orchard Road and staff is both friendly and helpful. Rooms are about average size for Asian hotels and are nice and clean. Hotel restaurants close early and there's no room service after the hotel restaurants close, but there is a 7-11 and lots of places to eat nearby. Note: Internet is not free.

Location wise was great as near Orchard Road shopping district.

The Elizabeth was a clean and pleasant hotel. The staff were helpful and pleasant and one of the best I have seen over the years. The hotel is convenient to Orchard Rd with a 10 minute walk downhill (not steep). Lots of shopping at the bottom of the hill. The plan I had did not include WiFi but it could be purchased but it was the highest rate I had […] ever seen for WiFi access. Mehr

- The staff at the Reception are so courteous. - The rooms (311 & 317) are generally clean except for some paints in the ceiling of room 317, which need minor repair. - The hotel is about four corners away from Orchard, which is a good factor to consider relative to its price. In short, it is a nice place to stay vis-a-vis the value for money.

Hotel was very good close to Paragon shop centre. Very good for kids and the staff were very helpful. Food was very nice in the restaurant downstairs. This the second time I have stayed there.

location not far from orchard road so quite convenient. Room was a bit dated but quite clean. Staff was helpful and there was luggage storage facilities. Toiletries weren't that great, but we managed as we were only there for 2 nights. Beware not to catch the prestige cab which we did as it cost double what you usually pay for (there are normal cabs […] which come regularly, so don't believe the prestige cab driver). Only negative was that the hair dryer was useless. (reminds me of the vacuum cleaner pipe). Mehr

We checked in at 11:30pm....out at 12:30am. General maintenance of the hotel is appalling. Our "Premier" room was anything but upmarket. Everything is old and worn. Carpets dirty, smoky smell throughout the floor. Nothing was as depicted in the advertising. So we packed up and moved out.

This hotel wasn't glamorous or luxurious, but was in a great location (near Orchard Rd) and was very affordable. Given the low price I was payijng, I think it delivered as expected.

only thing is , its very very expensive to use...per day SGD8.5....compare to out side SGD2.0 but hotel itself is very nice

The hotel is not too close to the shopping center and transportation .

Easy walking distance to animated Orchard Road (10 minutes). Good choice of food in buffet breakfast (approx. $SIN 23). Expensive wifi connection. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean but decor rather dated. Used the pool regularly, very clean, free use of towels. Would return to this hotel. (Some noise from construction going on next to hotel at […] the moment (Jan 2011) but very quiet at night.) Mehr

Singapore is well known for a standard of quality above all in Asia. This hotel belongs in a market in Vietnam. Room was rush cleaned. Moldy in most corners. The hotel will nickel & dime you for amenities. The Royal Plaza on Scotts is a true 5 star for the same price. Excellent bar with 1/2 price drinks, free internet business office with printing, […] outstanding dinner buffet, free expresso and service that is top notch. I forgot to mention a much better location on Orchard on the MRT. Mehr

5 min on foot to orchard road, main street in Singapore for shopping, dining. Good quality of service. Clean rooms.

The hotel looked very modern from the outside yet inside the interior design was older style . Our room was large however the Air Conditioner did not work properly and it was constantly cold - we did complain however it was never really fixed to satisfaction. Tour desk lady was helpful however we were not interested in the tours offered by the hotel […] so we asked where the "hop on hop off bus" was located and she was not interested in telling us , in fact she told us the incorrect information completely . Breakfast in the morning was nice however the supervising waiter was unfriendly , the price of the breakfast was far too much for the quality . The hotel is in a residential area of Singapore surrounded by condo buildings - very quiet area however quite a walk to Orchard Road . Check in staff were very friendly . A short walk from Orchard Road and all its luxurious shopping malls. Decided not to take our meals at the hotel due to a steep difference in prices in the nearby commercial area. Free coffee in the room helped to perk us before walking to the shopping areas. Staff very nice. Will definitely stay there again.
