It was good hotel. Not as good as the Clarion In Independence Missouri. The breakfast here was better,

Other than the physical condition (outside of the room itself) being dated and not well maintained, it's a good hotel for what it is.

very nice hotel but the price is as high as more modern hotels. no pool, nor sauna. carpets are old and discolored. it smells old. just too expensive

COnsidering the price we felt it was a grat experience.

Upon arrival there was a nice lady who checked us in. The hotel itself seems aged & has cosmetic issues. The first night went ok. The next day & until check out, the hotel had a smell of gas through out. The cleaning lady knocked on our door & asked when she could clean. We told her we would be leaving in an hour & could clean then. We returned to the […] hotel 5 hours later & the room had not been cleaned. We went to the front desk to ask for more towels & received major attitude as if it was a burden to get more towels. Maybe 1 night if you cant find another hotel & your desperate, but if you can help it, please dont stay here. Mehr

I LOVED my stay at this hotel. Prices were very low and affordable. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Bathrooms were big as well. Loved the shower. Bed was very comfortable n spacious. I have NO complaints about this hotel. Will stay at this hotel everytime I need a room.

I had read some less than favorable reviews online and was concerned about what we might find. I was very pleased with the hotel. Breakfast was very fine. Stay here with confidence.

The first room I was in initially had noisy neighbors. But after I explained that I was studying for a test, the concierge was gracious enough to room me a in a section far away from the other guests that was quiet. Breakfast is pretty normal. Plenty of parking.

Everything was good except for the service. I think because I got a good deal from hotels.com they were a bit upset and wanted to charge me for everything else.

We did not have enough towels in the room. the free buffet Breakfast was out of food, drinks and help.Maintainance need to be completed, and pop machine either not working, not stock properly and takes money with out delivery item selected. Other than that our stay was fine

The only thing I had a problem with was the breakfast area. When walking on the floor it was so sticky my shoe sole felt like it was going to come off. We came to breakfast about 9 and there were not plates or cups but when we brought it to the attention of one of the employees they took care of it right away. I called the front desk to ask if they […] sold safety pens and the person that answered the phone seemed very young and had no clue what I was asking for. You can't expect much from a motel that costs less than the other motels, but when the whole place becomes filled with a terrible smell, you will wish you had spent more.

Owners advised baby cribs were first come first serve and refused to reserve a crib even though we had reservations. How unprofessional & poor customer service. When we got there we were informed that they do not even stock cribs. The room was dirty and not fit for a 9 month old to crawl on the floor. No return business from us.

The staff was nice, and breakfast was great, but the room itself was rundown to the point of looking unhealthy. They really need to renovate- the tiles and tub were peeling and rusty looking.

We had a wonderful stay at the Clarion in Overland Park, KS. The rooms were great, beds comfortable, breakfast of good quality and quantity, and the coffee pretty good..... The only disappointment was that 3 out of 4 of the fitness machines were not in working order.

Communication with staff was difficult due to language barrier. Minor damage (tears in wallpaper, chips in counters, rust spots on tile floor) throughout the whole facility indicates hotel staff does not care about appearance. Housekeeping service was slow took all day for housekeeper to get to our room arriving at end of day when we did want service. […] Our non-smoking room was at the end of the hall and smoking was allowed at the entrance to the hallway. We smelled cigarette smoke the entire stay. Overall, we were very disappointed in the recommendation of this hotel. Mehr

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for three days. The breakfasts were hot and plentiful, the room was very clean, and the front desk people bent over backwards to accomodate us. The pool was alsovery clean, as were the grounds.

My wife and I had to get a room due to power being out in our residence. We picked the Clarion due to it's location. Definitely was a mistake, the room was somewhat clean, the walls were paper thin and no food delivery was available due "bugs" as one of the managers put it. Overall the room was not worth the price and just sucked in general.

got a grate rate and a great breakfast. Stayed here for 8 days and enjoyed the nice staff. A little noisy on the weekend.

The pictures posted for this Clarion are very misleading. The rooms are actually very run down. Our rooms were very musty smellng and the smell never faded over 3 days with the fan or AC running. They advertise free wi-fi, but access was spotty and unavailable at times during our stay. The breakfast was sad... very limited. Scrambled eggs could be had, […] but some were gray, the bacon was burnt crumbles. The host in the breakfast room was the nicest staff person we met. They do have a nice outdoor courtyard and pool, remainders from the hotel's previous chain. Mehr

Clean room, great staff, free hot breakfast. All for a great rate. We'll be searching out other Clarion Hotels when we travel.

Not as clean as I hope it would be and ants was found in the room.

Location is good for Overland Park, KS. Whole hotel and room is very comfortable. Breakfast is very nice. I like to be here again if travel to here.

The only maintenance issue with the room was that the toilet ran constantly though it couldn't be heard outside of the bathroom. We did not care for the hot breakfast buffet but their were plenty of restaurants in the area where we could eat.

This hotel made our stay in Kansas City so comfortable. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and the breakfast was great as well. Nice to have a hot breakfast instead of a continental one. The only thing I would flaw on this hotel is the bathtub didn't have a surface or mat on the bottom of it and it was slippery when you got in it and there was […] no handrail to hold onto. The price was right and I think you will enjoy your stay at this hotel. Definately worth the trip! Mehr

Would not recommend. Pictures on the website must be very old as the hotel does not look the same currently. They couldn't find my reservation. Air conditioning did not work well. No local television staions available, although they provided a listing that said they were. Tiniest soap bars I have ever seen. The room was clean.

We love this area of KC. The price was good. This hotel at one time was probably a very nice hotel. The pool was big and nice. The beds are hard and need to be replaced. The lobby is nice on the surface and then you realize the fake flowers and cheap decor. The room smelt of carpet fresh powder - it was clean, but the TV was old and the channels selection […] terrible. The breakfast was lame and they treated you like you were trying to sneak in - asking which room you were in - trust me no one would eat there unless it was free and they were staying there. The owner was very visably micro managing the staff who seemed untrained and scared to move. English was not good!!! Internet was not wireless. The cutting of corners and everything done on the cheap was obvious to guests. If you just want a cheap place to stay this hotel works, but if you want a comfortable bed and to be treated like a valueable customer this hotel fails. Customer service was very poor. The rooms were also not quiet - we could hear very clearly converstaions in the rooms in either side and in the hallways. No elevator and ice machine in the stair wells - weird. It's hard to find because the sign is not right and there is nothing that tells you where you are staying. Does not do the Choice Brand any good!!! Mehr

Check-in was terrible and at one point was told that I should call Hotels.com and have them fax the information. It isn't my fault that their computer system wasn't linked and other staff, except for the Manager, were incompetent. Rooms were fine and breakfast was better than some Clarion's because it is in a converted restaurant so nicer surroundings […] with real dishes and utensils. Mehr

The hotel had poor signage - Plaza Hotel, not Clarion, except a small plackard at entry door. We discovered upon returning from breakfast in the hotel that a key was was not needed to enter our room. During our stay we left valuables and slept in an unsecure room! Showering in the tub was hazardous as it was slick and curved. The hair dryer was coming […] off the bathroom wall. Front desk staff said they couldn't even provide a receipt of our stay as we did not directly book through them...very unusual in our experience. Mehr

This hotel was very comfortable, friendly and accommodating. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful. The pool worked out great for an afternoon with our grandkids. I'm sure I'll be staying here again.
