Das Hotel liegt 3 Minuten von der Bahn entfernt, die alle 15 Minuten zum Ortstarif in die Innenstadt fährt. Fahrzeit 20 Minuten. Zimmer und Bad sind klein, aber für einen Städteurlaub ausreichend. Frühstück ist reichlich und im Zimmerpreis enthalten. Wir haben nur einen Nachteil erleben müssen : Durch eine Lüftungsanlage wird ständig kalte Luft ins Zimmer geblasen, und das im April bei 8 Grad Aussentemperatur. Im Bad konnte man heizen, das Zimmer blieb kalt. Zumindest im Winterhalbjahr also nur zum Übernachten empfehlenswert.

Das Hotel liegt in einer Toplage, d.h. in unmittelbarer Nähe vieler Sehenswürdigkeiten (Vasamuseum, Skansen, Schloss, Gamla Stan, Schiffanleger für die Schären, Rathaus etc.) Die Zimmer sind sehr schön. Ein angenehmes Hotel, ein schönes altes Gebäude direkt "am Wasser gelegen". Frühstücksbuffet nicht billig (18€), aber genügend Auswahl. Restaurant zu empfehlen. Rezeption zwischen freundlich (Frau) und sachlich (Mann). Was fehlt ist wenigstens die Auslage einer deutschen Tageszeitung

Hotel etwas altmodisch, Zimmer/Komfort eher bescheiden. Reception etwas verborgen und für Neuankömmlinge schwierig zu finden. Restaurant Angebot und Qualität gut. Servicepersonal freundlich.

"Schönes Hotel mit unterschiedlicher Zimmerlage"
Sehr schönes Hotel mit sehr guten Service in Top Lage. Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer zum Hinterhof, absolut schreckliche Lage, trotz Buchung eines Zimmer in der mittleren Katergorie. Die meisten Zimmer sind mit wundenschöner Aussicht zum Wasser direkt oder seitlich, also vorsicht bei der Buchung. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet, extra zu bezahlen. Top […] Cocktailbar stylisches Restaurant, Essen in hervorragendes Qualität, allerdings würde die Hälfte der Größe auch reichen, da man nach der Vorspeise schon satt ist. "A Great Place"
This hotel has really lovely, nicely-sized rooms with tall ceilings (at least my room), nice attentive staff, beautiful common areas, and its right across the street from the water.
"Hotel Diplomat Stockholm - unbeatable"
The Art-Deco style hotel is perfectly located a few hundred metres from the Opera House, Svenskt Tenn, NK, VASA and other Museums, and all the delights of Stockholm city centre. With its comfortable rooms, lounge, restaurant and cocktail bar, and friendly staff, all needs met. Highly Recommended, and definitely worthy of a return trip.

I LOVED THIS HOTEL. THE STAFF WAS GREAT,LOCATION GREAT. THE BUFFET BREAKFAST WAS FIT FOR A KING. I WOULD DIFFENTLY STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.

"Hotel Diplomat Great Choice"
Wonderful location and a nice personal European hotel. My only complaint was that there was no A/C but apparently that is the case with all Stockholm hotels. I would strongly recommend this hotel over a big chain, more charming loction and ambience. Our room was small but comfortable with a small balcony and side view of the water, loved it!

Perfect location if you have a toddler - a beautiful 10 minute walk along the water to Junibacken and the Wasa museum. Diplomat staff could not have been more attentive if they tried. Lovely birdcage elevator from 100 yrs ago - updated to modern standards - with […] plasic key insert to access floors. The way this hotel has managed to intergrate modern conveniences is stunning and brilliant. Its a very old, beautiful building with high ceilings and crown moldings, etc. We loved every minute of it. The only (possible) downside is that they don't have A/C in the rooms. Heat they have - for obvious reasons. "Hotel Diplomat - best location...but...."
We enjoyed staying at the Diplomat. The only negative thing(s) we have to comment on is the front staff and the very hight price we payed for a room without breakfast and a terrible view. On the website it said we would have a view of the water - but instead we faced a wall. We celebrated our anniversary and I wanted it to be special as my husband loves […] the water and boats. When we mentioned this to the reception they did not make an effort and did not seem to bother. As a matter of fact the front desk/reception staff is the worst staff in a hotel we have ever encountered. It is very sad that the hotel does not choose its front staff more carefully as it is the "face" of the hotel. On a lighter note - the breakfast (which we paid 195skr = $30 pp) was fantastic!!!! Dennis one of the breakfast hosts was the friendliest and most professional person in the whole hotel and really went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. Even though the bed and the hotel was very comfortable and at a fantastic location - we would probably try to find another hotel next time we visit Stockholm. Mehr
"Love the Hotel Diplomat except for......."
My husband and I have now stayed twice at the Diplomat. We will be making regular trips to Stockholm due to our son's relocating there. The only drawback here (and this happened both times) is that we booked a Double Diplomat room and were given a very small room that looked out on the space between buildings where the equipment is stored. Fortunately, […] a trip to the front desk was all that was necessary to fix this. I don't know if there's a secret handshake needed to get the room we request without the extra step. We'll have to think long and hard about accommodations next time. If it happened a third time I'd be kicking myself all the way back to New York. Mehr

"Amazing location & vert helpful staff"
The hotels location is tryuly fantastic, right in the heart of beautiful Stockholm. 5-10 mins walk to most places, other than the airport. Staff were great, very helpful. The only negative I have about this hotel was that our room was very small. I've been traveling around Europe for the last month and this room was the smallest by far. We stayed five nights and were extremely happy. Hotel has a great location close to everything as well we had a huge room with waterview. Very, very clean and the best pillows of our 21 day holiday Will definitely stay here again - highly reccommend.

An excellent location for sight-seeing in Stockholm. Close to the Gamla Stan (Old Town) and shopping district. The staff were very friendly and helpful-it was worth the extra charge for a view of the bay. We enjoyed our stay at the Diplomat very much and would stay there again.

We stayed in a room with water view and, although it was the smallest in its category, was quite comfortable and had a lot of old world charm. Very convenient and accessible location. Staff strive to please. Wonderful breakfast. Will be happy to stay at this hotel again.
