This place was horrible. No parking until you find valet for $25 per day no view of anything but a street and trash. The room was filthy nasty dirty mold on the curtains shower, towels, and windows, hair in the bathroom a shower that was painted at some point and is chipped all over lines of I don't even know what on the walls in the bathroom as if […] some one sprayed cleaner but didn't bother to wipe it. Bed sheets and comforters that haven't been washed have animal hair on them and lots of stains. A TV from the 80s if it works at all your lucky, cause you'll need it to drowned out the noises. The walls are paper thin so you get to hear everything for the rooms on either side and above you. Plus the strange people outside that are hanging out watching your room? Not guests just Peeping Toms. Also my bathroom had no window covering at all and is inside the shower facing the building next door's room window, so to take a shower you either need to find some way to cover it or hope to get enough hot water to make steam and take a fast shower cause you can see the other people in their room. This place was the worst place I've ever seen. So disappointed. Mehr

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was disgusting. When we first arrived the whole hotel smelt horrible, our room was even worse. The toilet has been used and not flushed, the whole bathroom hadn't been cleaned, there were no towels, and the shower still had used soap in it. The sheets were stained yellow, the carpet was dirty and the tv didn't […] work. When we complained at the front desk he gave us the room keys to about 15 other rooms all which were unbearable to sleep in. At this point we couldn't get our money back so at 1am we had to walk the streets to find another hotel. Thankfully we found the Richmond Hotel just up the road which was great.The hotel was a palace compared to the Claremont. I do not recommend The Claremont to anyone. I lost a lot of money due to not reading enough reviews. Do not stay here. Mehr

We were evacuated from the Florida Keys due to Hurriance Isaac. We needed a place to stay in Miami. We arrived late and didn't want to spend too much money...well we certainly got what we paid for. The hotel is in the heart of south beach but it very raggedy. It is being renovated as we speak but right now it is not up to par. The staff at the front desk are wonderful. They did try and make sure we did get a better room. If the renovations take place then I would stay again.

The hotel is like the Tower of Terror.... It is a very old place, the bathtub had the paint all peel off. the hotel was recently purchased by a new chain group & is undergoing a transformation. The staff however makes up for any discomfort with their friendliness and helpfullness. 10/10 to the staff! In 2013 this hotel will be a great place under the Hilton name :-)

Paid $25 for valet parking. Had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring me my car. Hotel hallway carpets dirty and stained. No ice machines and no phone in room. Not at all worth the the amount we paid for the night. Room was worth not even half of what we paid.

For the price of 90$ for a Saturday night on Miami Beach you can not expect the hotel to be up to Par. The customer service is fantastic. Catalina was very friendly, professional, and understanding. I would only stay in this hotel if you are not going to be in SOBE longer than 2 or 3 days Max, you are not going to be in your hotel often (basically just […] need to change and sleep). The TV is old, AC had dust all over it, the ac unit was old and loud, the restroom was VERY clean, bed was tolerable as i can sleep on anything ( old with dents in it), but because the sheets and blankets were old (practically yellow), pillow had drool marks but the sheets smelled like they were washed i really didnt want to sleep in the bed. The towels were new and clean. The breakfast consists of fruit loops, horrible coffee, a gallon of milk, bread, bagels. Elevator is broken, no blow dryer/ fridge or alram clock. The location was ideal for anyone vacationing or doing business in Miami Beach. The bathroom was clean and functioned well. That said: the bed sucked!, the air conditioner sucked AND was extremely loud, the blinds sucked AND there were no drapes to cover the incoming light that the blinds could not block AND there was no remote for the TV, which sucked […] AND there was no vending machines anywhere in the hotel BUT the front desk would SELL you a small bottle of water for $2.00; that SUCKED! I was hesitant about this hotel bc of other reviews but chose it due to price & location and our stay was really pleasant. The hotel has a very youth hostel feel, and if you are not comfortable with that kind of environment, you won't like this place. But if you want something convenient, cheap, & adequate then the Claremont is perfect. The rooms are […] old and run down, but overall clean and comfortable. We couldn't get the TV to work and I don't recommend peering under the bed. However, we felt safe, the staff was excellent, other guests were friendly, and we had great access to everything. Bad for a romantic getaway, perfect for beachy weekend with friends. Just be aware of taxes and fees when booking. the staff were really kind and helpful. now if the owner could just dip in their pocket get some redecoration, renovation going on, the A/C was deffinately an issue. And a waffle maker for the breakfast, bagels and cereal are great and all but seriously, waffle maker.

I would not recommend any one to stay in the hotel. Dirty bathroom, flush doesn't work, broken roofs , unsafe doors, uncooperative customer service.

Hotel was not what was advertised... The room was smelled bad to the point that air freshner had to be bought. The room was in poor condition. I definitely will not stay there again and won't recommend to anyone.

Had problems with this place way before i arrived, I called 3 days straight prior to my date of arrival to ensure my late check wasnt an issue.I got no answere for 3 days.Walked into the run down lobby @ midnight to no one at the front desk..yelling hello, walking out and back in several times before someone emerged from a little room right behind the […] service desk. The place smelled like a dirty mop.By FAR the worst customer service ever, and even worse then that after traveling for more than 16 hours, THE ROOM was beyond run down. Used my own blanket and pillow from the airport because the bedding was filthy, pillow case looked as if it had never been washed, EVER. The floor was gross, in need of new carpet, i kept my slippers on the entire time, including when i took a shower in the nasty bath room. The tiles are broken every where, floor, walls, and inside the tub. Did i mention as you take a shower the water doesnt drain as if your trying to take a bath!!! instead of asking me if i wanted to leave a cash deposit(which they do except) they charged it to my credit card for incidentials and held it for 5 day after checkout.HOnestly, there is nothing to break or worth taking from a room at the Claremont. My thoughts..blow this place up and reconstuct,invest in your property because you do have the best location. right in the center to everything, no need for a taxi you can walk to anywhere. Had to open the windows when we checked in it smelled so bad. The next morning we literally had sewage bubling up through our hotel drain. Great location, though!!!

That hotel was horrible. It was taken from a horror movie scene. The rooms smelled and so did everything in it. The staff was rude and uninterested. The only thing might have been good for is nervous sleep. The floors felt like they were going to fall through.

Excellent location and good price, but the quality of the hotel (and how poorly it's run) almost makes it not worth it. As an example, they lost our reservation and put us in a room that reeked of weed, and didn't offer us any sort of compensation. Yellow pillows, no pillow cases. NO maintanance staff on duty. No dress code at hoetl, all workers were in jeans or sweatpants... room had no toilet paper. trash under the beds and wet carpets. WORST.

The front desk employee was rude. When he finally checked us in, our room was dirty. The front desk employee didn't even apologize for us being sent to a dirty room - he went to go check it himself as if he didn't believe us. Came back and gave us a different room. The elevator buttons didn't work very well - you had to push it 10 times just to go to […] your floor. The new room had stains on the floor and bathroom was dingy. DO NOT RECOMMEND. For the price, this is a great stop right across the street from the beach. The Delano is a hip, happening place - very expensive. Parking is an issue. If you have a car, park in publicv lot for $20 a day. Overall, a good stop for short term.

We had an ok room they gave us a room that had been updated a lil bit bathroom was new. It was three of us there was only one rag 2 towels we never got any more they never came to clean our room! This place was run down looking walkin to the room nothing to chabby. Was ok I prabaly wouldn't stay there again but was ok. Staff was okay!

Knew I wouldn't be getting 5 star treatment because I wasn't paying 5 star rate. I arrive to Miami at 2pm, but check in was a 3pm so I figured maybe they would be courteous enough to allow me an hour early check in. (It's pouring raining outside, I am single woman travelling alone with bags). Do you think they could offer me that courtesy? NOPE. "You […] still have one hour" was the response I was given. Okay, rude, but I will wait it out in the lobby.....3:30 comes along and my room IS STILL NOT READY. 3:45pm comes around and at this point in time I STILL HAVE NO ROOM. I go to the front desk to inquire about my room--I'm finally given a key. I go to the room, AND THE ROOM IS STILL DIRTY. Razors left in the bathroom, bed with no sheets on it, pillows tossed around. Even for a 2 star hotel this is NOT HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS. Overall, awful experience. Wasted half a day just getting my room well after check in time. If you don't have a week to wait in Miami just for a room DO NOT COME HERE. KEEP LOOKING!! Time is money to most people and I would hate to waste either of mine again. Mehr

They seemed to be doing a renovation. Just painted over. without cleaning. An old, picked -up -from- garbage yard looking bath tub, very unhealthy.In short, bad renovation,a bad smell in my corridor and a bade bad experience.
