The Hotel Berne Opera was lovely. The room was clean and charming and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated just off the Rome train station and is an easy walk / short train ride from all of Paris' main attractions. I travel to Paris very often and I am very realistic about the size of hotel rooms. However, when I arrived at Hotel Berne Opera I must say that I was shocked and frustrated about the size of the hotel room. I booked the single room as I was traveling alone in the Arc de Triomphe area of Paris. I must point out that this hotel is not close to the Arc […] de Triomphe at all, it is closer to Sacre Coeur and the Montmartre area. The room was extremely small and the room was not very clean upon further inspection. I immediately brought my complaint to the attention of the hotel manager where I was told that even though I had been to Paris over 10 times, I must have been very "lucky" in past to not have booked a room this small. The next day I called Expedia and complained about the state of the hotel, and I was allowed to "upgrade" my room free of charge. My upgraded room had a double bed, and a shower that was so small that I could barely fit in it with the door closed. The bathroom shower had mold along the walls and the hot water kettle was very dusty. Needless to say, this is hands down the absolute worst hotel experience I've ever had in Paris. Mehr

Hotel was in a great location. We had a triple room which was more than adequate. The room was cleaned well each day and the beds were comfortable. Would stay here again if I got a great deal like this time.

Very small hotel with a quaint 2 person lift. Locaction to the Metro was about 100m. Well situated in terms of getting around. Room size as expected was small and bathroom was extremely small. Staff were helpful and friendly and bake to communicate well in English due to my lack in French skills.

The convinient shuttle service runs every 15-20 mins from the Main tram station which is infront of disneyland. It had all the things you would need to focus on your trip to disneyworld. My best friend and I have just returned from a 5 night stay in this hotel. May I start by saying all staff that we came across in the hotel were extremely polite and friendly. The beds were comfortable and made daily. Our room was on the top floor, clean and tidy due to recent refurbishment that is still ongoing in parts of the hotel. My only slight upset was the lift breaking on the morning we departed, just my luck that during a 5 night stay it chose to break on the morning I left! It's a simple and very comfortable hotel, the staff is really nice, they speak several languages other than french, so it is very helpful. It is a bit far by walk from the turistic places but you can find nearby restaurants and bakeries.

Brilliant staff, very helpful, but otherwise just somewhere to lay my head. The room wasn't big enough to swing a cat, which is good news for Parisian felines. Some nice restaurants nearby, and some pretty bad ones. Overall OK for amenities, service and value.

Stay was good and would stay again. Staff were always helpful and language barrier was not an issue. Only disappointment is that we were at the back of the hotel and would have preferred a room facing the street. Will know if I ever get back to Paris to ensure that I make that request clear.

This hotel was our last stop during our 2 week French vacation. I loved the location - close to the metro, walking distance to tons of places to eat and nightlife, but still a nice quiet street! There was a delicious Thai restaurant about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The staff was great and most spoke English. The Berne Opera exceeded all expectations and was the perfect place for our first visit to Paris. The hotel and its staff demonstratively enabled us to meet our two goals of the vacation: 1) seeing the multiple historic and artistic sites of Paris (They helped facilitate our transportation and reservations for special experiences, i.e. Giverney and […] Versailles, local bus tours, and assistance in navigating the Metro.) and 2) locating us in the midst of "real" Paris and proximity to the Metro (Just around the block from our door.) Your description included a "warm multilingual welcome", which was an understatement. I spoke about 4 words of French, and the staff took great effort to interpret instructions that were most helpful: assisting creation of our itinerary, securing tours and bus schedules on site, recommending "must sees". The rooms looked identical to the pictures your site published; they were clean and well maintained; breakfast was offered everyday, being newly remodeled in 2011, rooms were up to date and well apportioned and interestingly eco-friendly. Me and my girl spent 3 nights here. You can't really go wrong. It was a little loud at night, but it's in a city with 6 million people so I don't think you can really avoid that. It really close to the Rome metro station too, and pretty good restaurants, and a supermarket are very close by.

Great hotel in a residential neighborhood. It is close to Gare St Lazare, Montmartre, and to many metro stops. The triple room we stayed in was big enough for three people and three suitcases. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Paris.

Ideally placed with the Metro 400 metres away. Our room was noisy from the railway but that can't be helped and we did have the windows open ! Not the best views to be honest but across the rooftops you could see the Eiffel Tower. Reception Staff were always polite and efficient. Yes the rooms are on the small side and could do with a little spruce […] up but they are clean as is the hotel in general. There are numerous eating places (as there are all over Paris) but I halt from calling them restaurants. Mainly fastfood obviously catering to the Americam palate. Disappointed no sign of French Bistros. Avoid Indiana - it is appalling both the food and service. Moulin Rouge is a ten minute walk from the hotel but the surrounding area is a little seedy with the numerous "Adult" shops. Sacre Coeur is around 20 minutes and a steady climb but the views from there in Montmartre are breathtaking. Mehr

My fiance and I recently stayed at this hotel. We arrived a few hours early and were able to lock up our luggage until we were able to check in. The hotel attendant spoke English and was able to accommodate us. The room was small, like most Parisian rooms, but cozy. Air conditioning worked great. Internet was free in your hotel room. In the morning […] it was only 2-3 minute walk to the nearest bakery, where you could purchase a freshly-baked breakfast for 2 under 5 euros. Location is near a metro station. Just beware, large luggage is hard to get around due to the fact that Paris has very few escalators and elevators. You will be carrying your luggage up and down stairs, so pack light! Mehr

Very good and super clean. Reception staff most helpful. I would go back again. I couldn't get the provided hair drier to work. Optional continental breakfast is served down in the cellar which requires navigating a steep spiral staircase which some folks may find a bit treacherous ..... they seem to be popular in Paris. The breakfast room staff […] member was extremely noisy - banging dishes and pans around and glaring at me when I smiled! This continued until I got up and left although I would have liked to have stayed longer to finish my breakfast! Felt very uncomfortable. This is a small but very clean hotel on the border of the 8th and 17th arrondissement. Half a block from the Rome metro station and a 6 block walk to Gare Ste. Lazare. The neighborhood is quiet and so is the hotel.

Pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of the staff and general cleanliness of the hotel. Quite basic facilities but as a place to sleep and clean up it was ideal for me. Free wi-fi was a nice bonus. My only complaint was breakfast not being included in the price but as an optional extra at 14 euros per day it was decently priced anyway.

A well located hotel for the metro and a good choice of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The staff were friendly and when we reported a problem with the hot water in the room it was seen to straight away. The contemporary decor of the room was as expected from the pictures I had viewed and the standard of cleanliness was good.
