Neues, sauberes Hotel in San Mateo. Wir haben uns für dieses Hotel entschieden, da die Hotels in San Francisco sehr teuer sind. Essen im Hotel sehr lecker. Haben jeweils den Shuttleservice vom Hotel zum Flughafen San Francisco genutzt , dort weiter mit dem Zug nach Downtown.

Perfect location if you need to return your rented car and take a flight to Europe the day after your stay

Everything was pretty good. The front desk staff even got me a small fridge since I had asked for one. The only things I did not like was that the beds and pillows could have been more comfortable.

This hotel became my home away from home. It was clean, safe, free WiFi in my room, and it was convenient to Route 101 and SFO Airport. They even had Diet Coke with Lime in the vending machine, which delighted me! If I have to go back to San Francisco, this will be the first place I look for a room!

Only complaint I have is with hotels.com which reported that the rooms had microwave and fridge but none of the rooms had them. We needed them to keep my daughters milk. The location is food right off 101. And all great restaurants are close by. The hotel also has covered parking but it's a bit limited.

While the hotel met my minimum standards for a hotel, it was way over-priced at this location. I'm not a huge Holiday Inn fan, but once in a while I like to give it a shot. Unfortunately, not much has changed in my perception of this chain. Carpets were filthy and the rooms smelled like cheap cleaning Chemicals had been used. The resteraunt closed before its posted time because the manager decided it was slow earlier. When we called for more towels they said that they didn't have help and we had to come get it ourselves.

Area was right off the freeway which was convenient for us since we had a to make trips on our stay in the bay area. When I first arrived I was expecting a mediocre hotel, since the price was descent. But I walked right in and the hotel staff was very nice and fast. The fireplace and the resteraunt were a nice touch. Our room exceeding my expectations. […] I am used to staying in Union Square in SF, so as usual i was expecting a small old room. But we had more room than needed. which was great. The small couch was a very nice touch as well as the coffee maker. The bed pillows were label, firm and the other soft, which i loved. and the bed itself was comfortable. Bathroom very modern and clean. I personally loved the amenities... Despite the 5am fire alarm that went off by, which startled everyone staying there. I would definitely stay again. Mehr

I would definitely stay at this hotel again when in San Mateo

The room was great. plenty of space and comfortable bed. The pillows were tiny and they don't have any bigger ones available. The food in the restaurant was ok. There isn't anything else within walking distance. The bar closes at 9pm so don't plan on having a late night drink before bed.

Hotel was right off the freeway, easy access, close to SFO. Rooms were large and clean. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside is the exercise room was a little small but I was very happy with the overall experience and would recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff was very friendly. The only thing I didn't like was the old school heater on the wall. There was not a comfortable setting so I woke up several times to adjust the heat. Otherwise, everything was just fine.

low price, but clean and comfortable

This place was very convenient for taking the shuttle to the airport for an early morning flight. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were large. The people working there were very nice and helpful

This hotel is a bargain in the San Mateo area. It is located very close to the freeway, but I asked for a room on the quieter side of the hotel and the staff was very obliging. I slept well here and would definitely stay again.

This is an excellent location near the SFO airport. Room was very clean and spacious. Food in the restaurant and service above average. Restaurant staff went the extra mile to provide speedy service.

The resteraunt was awful. The waiter described all of the specials in spanish and not english, then my meal was sent back because the steak was so tough and by the time the new meal came the rest of the party was done. The waiter offered to deduct the appetizers and when the check came they had, but had charged me for the meal I never got! This is a great hotel with wonderful service. All employees were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are big and are well maintained. We were going to drive in to San Fransico but the clerk at the desk suggested taking the BART (public transportation) from the airport and the free hotel shuttle to the airport. Worked out great and less expensive than […] parking fees in San Fran. The food was good for a small restaurant and we were treated well. Mehr

I got this as a last minute deal, and was well worh the price. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, also another plus point was that the parking was free. For Breakfast you have iHOP or Denny's within 3 mile radius, so before hopping into SFO, we could have a hearty breakfast and SFO or Golden gate bridge takes around 45 minutes from here. Stayed one night, early plain in the morning. No problem with tha shuttel to the airport)))

We wanted a hotel close to SF but without the high price of parking (we have a SUV). Parking is free here the rooms were quite large for a family of 4 )enough for the young one to dance & leap) Everything was brand new!! Super clean, felt very comfortable as soon as we got to our room... Right off the highway (yet you don't hear anything due to the […] sound wall) Cute neighborhood out from our window. With the great prices, clean rooms and 20 minutes from SF...We would book this hotel again in a heartbeat...Plus the staff was super sweet to our family! Mehr

The hotel was great for the price. They did not make up the room once but we did not leave the room until after 2 pm that day. Room was very comfortable.

I stay at this hotel at least once a month for business. Unfortunately I've noticed the price keeps going up, so I suspect other business travelers stay here often as well. Upside is that the parking is free, rooms are clean and spacious, furniture is relatively new. Downside is that there is no real ambience to the place, no pool, and the linens are […] cheap, as are the synthetic pillows. But it's a three star, so I guess that is to be expected. I drive up for business so have taken to bringing my own pillows. Very easy off when traveling on 101 North, but getting back on 101 South in the morning requires a bit of a detour. No restaurants or other services close by. Neighborhood is sketchy. I wouldn't go for a walk in it. Mehr

I've stayed at this hotel several times for business. It's a good hotel and location - clean, friendly, etc. Biggest downsides: no fridge in the room (though there's lots of space for one and most other hotels in this class have them). And while getting to the hotel off Hwy 101 is easy, getting back onto 101 is more difficult (the off-ramp leads you […] right to the hotel, but there's no nearby on-ramp). Overall, good for the price - quiet, comfortable, large rooms. But you'll want to include extra time for getting back on the freeway if you drive. Mehr

A good place to stay

Holiday Inn and Suites at San Mateo is a very new hotel with larger than usual double rooms. The restaurant is very good for breakfast !!!

The surrounding neighborhood was a bit sketchy. We spotted some suspicious characters walking about the parking area. At night, I went to the fitness center and could not get back without going outside because the elevator froze. The woman at the front desk did not notice I had the free breakfast option and seemed a bit "put out" when I mentioned that […] is what I had selected on hotels.com. The next day, she was annoyed when I walked in with trash I had gathered from cleaning out my car but could not find a trash can (there was one out front but it looks exactly like the planters, so I missed it, and she made sure I was aware of my mistake). The parking was free, the breakfast was decent, and it was close to our other stops. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Mehr

This was a great deal for sure. My room was cheaper than other hotels on the site and I was worried that it might be a bit dingy or not very well run. I was very happy with everything. The staff were nice and professional. The room was huge actually. I had small office space in the corner as well as a couch and coffee table for relaxing. The bathroom […] was large and clean as well. The night before I left I remembered that they had a free hotel shuttle. Close to the freeway. Easy access. Short drive to Half Moon Bay and San Francisco. Room spacious and clean. Enjoyed our stay

I booked a Standard Room with one bed instead of two (same price), and it turned out to be really spacious with a bed, desk, and couch. The bathroom was really nice too, and the whole thing was clean. The staff was friendly and efficient too. Very nice for a week's stay on business. The only downsides: - There wasn't a small fridge in the room, which […] would have been helpful. - The elevator sounds kind of creaky but worked just fine. - There's no free breakfast, just vouchers for 10% off meals in the attached restaurant. Getting to the hotel is very easy - it's right off the 101 (northbound). Getting back onto the 101 is a little more difficult, but doable. Mehr

Clean, quiet, large rooms, free parking. Free airport shuttle, reasonable restaurant... Really a perfect stay for many purposes--- I use it regularly for business. And an incredible value!

I was very please with the quality of this hotel for the price. Rooms are very nice with more of a "suite-like" feel. Comfortable beds with clean and modern rooms.

This hotel was a great place to stay for a reasonable price. We came into town for a volleyball tournament and this was a great hotel due to its easy access to and from the Freeway. It was nice and spacious for the three of us. Would definitely stay here again.

I am not sure if this is a new location but it definatley looks as though it is. Nice colors and linens. Would stay again.

Would not recommend this hotel. Toilet backed up and we didn't receive compensation. I asked and the girl at the counter looked at me like I was talking a foreign language. The manager was no where to be found.
