Friendly staff with a nice location. My only complaint is the strange smell in the room.

Overall, pleased with the hotel and it's services. Recommendation is for hotel staff to invest more effort in keeping a clean and professional appearance in the common areas of the hotel. The carpet is very dirty and unkept with trash as you travel from the lobby area to the ground level in route to your room. Otherwise, hotel is great.

Hotel is beautiful and staff very friendly. My only problem is the wi-fi. It's not included in your room, you have to pay $12.95 per day. If you want it free you have to sit in the lobby, not very appealing to me. I think this fact should be added in their listing, because if I knew this I would not have stayed at this hotel. The location was great, lobby was nice, the room was OK. We stayed in the "club" area I think. It is an offshoot of the main tower that looks like a strip of 2 story condos. There was NO water pressure in the toilet...it would hardly flush. Something was definitely wrong with it and I had to stand next to it at one point (4am) to make sure it did not […] overflow (it came within about an inch of going over) On two separate occasions, I encountered a stink bug on the bathroom floor. The mini refrigerator/micro combo was a nice touch but it did have leftovers in from the previous guest. Aesthetically speaking, it's on par with what the room cost however the details were not taken care of and therefore not worth the high price of the hotel. I would give it another chance but would want to stay in the tower. Mehr

We have stayed here for three years and each year the physical condition of the hotel seems to be getting worse. Last year there was a flood and this year there were bugs in the room. We will not stay there next year.

The hotel is centrally located and check in was fine. But as soon as we opened the room door we were confronted with the odor of cat urine and mildew. The front desk relocated us to a different room after we called downstairs -- well, the front desk told us to come downstairs and get a new room assignment and move our own bags -- but the odor was shocking. […] The new room was considerably smaller, but at least it didn't stink. The staff were very professional and helpful and the hotel was very clean with a nice presentation in the common areas. The ambience was nice as it overlooks a lake with walking trail on one side of the hotel. The location is also great for those with shopping in mind because it is within walking distance to a very nice upscale mall and surrounding […] community. When I checked out, the Sheraton staff handed me a index card stating that the hotel had bugs, and if I saw any that they were harmless. Also made it sound like it was a joke. Ex. I've stayed there twice, both times in the multi-story hotel portion and it was fine. This last time, I was sent way out to an area where it was two story only town home apartment type area. The first time, they gave me the wrong room type, then they moved me to another room. Both rooms were quite a trek from the main hotel, and were not nearly as nice. […] I would not book here again since they cannot guarantee which part of the hotel you will be given. Mehr

The Sheraton Hotel located in Columbia, MD is one of the best that I have stay in. I recommended this hotel as a place to stay if you happened to visit Columbia, MD.

Stay somewhere else. Just the fact they want to charge $12.50 per night for wireless access shows what this place is all about. No amenities, poor location, second rate service and not up to Sheraton standards. I will never stay here again.

Last time we stayed there, I reviewed the hotel in a negative light because we had to walk so far each time we went to our room. This time, I mentioned that to the desk clerk. He gave me a room in a wing on the main floor. Our car was just steps away. This time I can say that we were very pleased with the hotel. We had a very pleasant two nights in Columbia . What a location! 5 minutes from a huge shopping mall. Situated on a lake and park .Excellent facilities great food .High standard rooms .Service was first class and very helpful even after we asked to move rooms because of noise from connecting door .

I've stayed in Sheratons nationwide and this one was the shabbiest, with chipped paint on doors, slats missing in the closet door, and an old looking tub in the bathroom. However, it was clean enough, and the bed fine. The facility is sprawling. I drove to my room wing and there was no elevator evident, so I had to take the stairs down one level to […] my room. Luckily I had only one small bag. I felt a bit edgy staying on the ground floor being a woman alone. They should offer free WiFi given the room cost. I would have rather stayed in one of the other area hotels. The people there were great, but the condition of the hotel (bathroom, room carpet, drab walls), was poor considering the PRICE! From the reviews I was under the impression this was right next to the merriweather post pavillion. It's actually about a 15 minute walk, but it is still the closest hotel. The room was very nice and we ordered room service from the restaurant, which was great! Very clean and comfortable.

I stayed in the hotel last week and was so surprised with the quality of the hotel rooms. Not only did I have to walk through a maze (literally - went through the lobby, through one hallway, past the fitness room and through two additional hallways) before I event got to my room. Once I entered not only was there a musty smell, but it was clear the […] room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. There was an old shampoo bottle left behind and plenty of garbage under the bed. When I went to the front desk to request another room, they confirmed all rooms for the night were taken (yeah, right). I will not be visiting this hotel again any time soon. Mehr

After a long day, I needed to get to my room. Upon check in, there was a party going on with rap music, dancing, and kids running around everywhere. They did not leave the doors to the conference rooms closed, therefore the music poured out in to the hotel. I was on the 2nd floor, a ways away from the party, and it was loud. The partiers complained because it was too hot in there, but that was due to them having enough lighting for "effect" that were on, creating a heat issue. I made this reservation at 9pm while driving through Baltimore on my way to Ocean City. We were expecting to stay at a hotel closer to Ocean City but a very bad accident on the PA turnpike delayed our expected progress. This was a very reasonable price for such a beautiful hotel with all the amenities of a resort property. The room was large with wonderful, […] clean and very comfortable beds. The check-in was easy eeven though there were a number of wedding parties staying at the hotel. I had complimentary internet access at a complimentary computer station. Saw Katy Perry at Merriweather and stayed at the hotel so we didn't have to drive back home afterwards. A staff member told us the wrong directions to our room (at least we think so, this place is like a maze!!!) and we thought someone was already staying in the room due to dirty room service dishes right in front of the door. A friend accidentally […] kicked the dish after we got back from the concert spilling lettuce all over the hallway, and we woke up to the dish STILL there with the letuce picked up off of the floor inside of the dish. Not only did this place have a super funky smell, their house cleaning service workers don't understand the concept of the "do not disturb" signs. Checkout isn't until 12 and we got at least three knocks on our door from 7 A.M until 10. Totally not worth the money that I paid, I would probably consider finding another hotel if I ever stay the night in Columbia again. It was extremely disappointing and an absolute waste of my money. Good hotel-unless you are exhausted and then check in and when they tell you you can park by a certain door to access your room, you think-ah, no worries, I'm parked-I'll just walk. I walked, and walked and walked-this is an enormous expansive hotel and you NEED to park by a door close to your room. The staff did not warn me this was not a standard […] layout for a hotel and it was dark when I arrived so I could not tell that it sprawled out. I stayed here after a Phish show at Merriweather and it was awesome. The rooms are super clean and the location is outstanding. Will def go back

Enjoyed the restaurant and the surrounding area. Check-in was a bit of a pain, I was told at 2:30 to come back at 3:00 to check in. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again, I will just make sure I don't try to check-in a half hour early. Come on Sheraton!!!

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff was great and the opulence was divine! Too bad they did not have an indoor pool though.

Enjoyed my one night stay. Hotel was very close to the mall and the resturantant we were going to New Orleans. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great service from start to finish... great value for the money and nicely located. Clean....

The hotel was clean and comfortable but the design of the hotel was a problem. There was no way to get to your room on either floor without going up stairs. We had the trolley packed with luggage and equipment. It could only go so far, then we had to carry everything down a long hall to the room. One night there was an event in the conference room. […] The buffet and carving station was set up in a narrow hall. We had to squeeze by guests who were carrying plates and drinks. We were carrying bundles, were in heavy coats, etc. It is a badly designed hotel. Mehr
