The Wilshire Hotel - Los Angeles

Unbedingt darauf achten, dass man ein Hotel oberhalb der 7ten Etage bekommt, ansonsten kann die Kategorie "Room with view" nicht eingehalten werden. Uns wurde erst ein Zimmer in der 4ten Etage zugeteillt, nach Rücksprache mit dem Manager und dem vorweisen der Buchung eines Zimmers mit Sicht wurde uns dann ein Zimmer im 12 Stock zugeteil, von welchem […] aus der Blick super ist. Allgemein ist zu erwähnen, dass das Hotel etwas alt wirk, sei eis die Lobby sowie auch die Zimmer. Jedoch sauber und zum wohlfühlen. Mehr

Gegen Aufpreis bei Buchung soll der Gast ein Zimmer mit eben diesem Ausblick reservieren können, was bei unserem Aufenthalt graue Theorie blieb. Wir erhielten unser Zimmer mit Aussicht auf die pulsierende Kreuzung des Wilshire Boulevards und der benachbarten […] Bürotürme, was jeden anderen Reisenden, der kein Zimmer in einem der Downtown Hotels bekommen hat, glücklich gemacht hätte, war für uns eher enttäuschend. Die veröffentlichten Bilder die wir bei Buchung unseres Deluxe King with View gezeigt bekamen, entsprachen nicht dem Zimmer was wir erhalten haben. Unser Zimmer hatte den Charme vergangener Tage mit dem zeitgemäßen Luxus der späten 60er Jahre. Woran man spätestens am nächsten Morgen bei der Benutzung der Dusche erinnert wird. Für Geschäftsreisende mit niedrigem Budget, die ohne Auto anreisen und ein ideales Hotel suchen, um einer der vielen benachbarten Firmen zu Fuss zu erreichen, werden hier fündig, allen anderen Gästen, die zu touristischen Zwecken nach Los Angeles kommen, sollten sich lieber nach einem anderen Hotel umsehen. tophotel with reasonable prices, esp. when sale. superb location, excellent service and on top of that very helpful and last but not least very sincere staff. first morning forgot my bag in the lobby. when picking it up got all back. the suggested info call to me didn't work but that's understandable as reception is all the time busy with guests, which […] also speaks for the hotel. can surely recommend it! It was not anywhere near downtown. Old dirty rooms door had to be pushed to lock. Everything in this hotel was old and dirty

Overall it was ok but the hotel and it's rooms have not been renovated in quite some time.. My room smelled like a dirty tanning salon bed.. ugh.. there was an iron print on the floor and cigarette holes in the non smoking room.. I felt that this room had definitely overstayed it's welcome needing a major over all renovation... The lobby was nice and […] pool area. The Wilshire Hotel is located in the heart of Little Tokyo. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows that open to a crack and style which seems to be 90's sheek. Keep in mind that there is no parking besides valet, which is $25 per night. Great experience if you can find a cheap rate.

An ok place to crash for a night. From the outside and lobby it appears the hotel is clean and well maintained. The surprise came when we got to our room and there was a clothing iron burn into the carpet right at the entranceway. The carpet was also pulled away from the walls and bunched up randomly in spots. I spend about 100 nights per year in hotels. This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever seen. What a disappointment. We were attending a concert in the area and needed the convenience of not having to drive home afterwards. We should have just gone home. Never again.

I was in town to go to a hockey game at staples center. The hotels location was great there were bus stops outside of the hotel and the subway right across the street and for someone who didn't have a car it couldn't have been easier to get around. I was able to easily explore LA and its outskirts. The room was very clean - nothing too special but I […] wasn't in my room except to sleep. The mattress was pretty hard but that was something I was able to get past. The staff was very helpful and I felt safe in the neighbourhood. For the price I would highly recommended it! Mehr

I enjoyed my stay, the only issue I had was that I couldn't get a wi-fi signal in my room (1141), so I had to take my laptop down to the lobby, hopefully this issue will be fixed with closer access points in the future.

The hotel lobby looks lovely but this does not follow through in the rooms. They are in need of an upgrade. Although the i'm sure the sheets and bed coverings had been washed there were dirty marks on them. The towels were threadbare. The shower lacked power. The safetly strip in the bath was peeling off. We had booked a room for three but there were […] only 2 sets of towels in the room and it took housekeeping nearly an hour to bring us up an extra set. We had to move rooms as the first was very noisy - it sounded as though there was very noisy airconditioning on. The front desk was able to give us another room but there was noone to help us move. We were given a trolley somewhat grudgingly. Some of the front desk staff were very helpful - the others were ok. We had a lovely breakfast in the restuarant on the second floor. Mehr

Rooms are horrible, beds are uncomfortable, restrooms are tiny without quality products... wall papers coming off.. Never again..we did not leave the hotel because we needed for late night arrival... find better.

Once I was in my third room (the first two were on Wilshire Blvd and were very noisy) the AC was not working well enough to cool down the room on the seond night. I was also awakened by someone's "boom box" at 3:30 in the morning and security could not locate the source. No sleep that night.

overall it was good to stay in wilshire hotel, but the light in the room was too dark. and I don't think the heater worked out. maybe i didn't know how to work it out tho

The hotel is in serious need of new bed linens and carpet.....besides that, it was a great place to stay due to proximity of CHLA.

Me and a couple of friends traveled down to LA to catch the Dodgers home opener. We booked this room due to it's location to the stadium and that is probably the best thing about the hote. We arrived pretty late around 9:30 at night and our room was not even ready we had to wait in the lobby for a bit. The room was ok but nothing great and the floor […] was in bad shape. In the morning I tried to make coffee and the coffee maker was broke. I called and asked for a new one and they said they would send it right up. The coffee maker never arrived so I just walked across the street to get a cup myself. I will not stay at this hotel again for what you pay and what you get there are many better deals out there! The bathroom was filthy. The tub did not drain properly. The comforter was out dated. It had cigarette burns all over it. Overall, it was not comfortable and gross,

Horrible experience with the Valet. They were very pushy, impatient and very demanding. They charge $25 for overnight service, and very slow to bring your car around upon request. I was also not impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom or the furniture in the room. This stay was not worth the money.

The picture of the hotel that they have posted is misleading. The rooms do NOT look like that. Be aware!! Hotel is outdated and in need of a major renovation.

Hotel was ok, no frills. Staff friendly enough. No wifi in rooms, no reception and so had to go downstairs to lobby to get wifi and make plans for the day or check maps etc.... slightly frustrating. Otherwise, reasonably comfortable stay.

The hotel is outdated with staing on carpet and shower curtain. Overall, the staff seems to be courteous and the service was fine. Do not get a room that faces Wilshire street. It is very noisy with traffic.

The hotel staff were friendly, the room was fairly clean and comfortable. The hot water seemed to be unavailable at times, but that was resolved in about half an hour. The location was great which was located in the center of Koreatown. Overall, I would recommend the stay here.

My stay at the Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles was beyond amazing! I have never experienced such impecable customer service. Special consideration should be given to the staff who work in the main lobby as well as those who work in the housekeeping and maintenance divisons. I am especially grateful to the taller gentelman who works in the tour/guest-services […] portion of the lobby. He seemed more than happy to help both me and my travel companion find fun and interesting activities to do around the area. He even went out of his way to print out maps for us to follow and made sure we knew where we were going. On the last day of our trip he even came outside and informed us that our shuttle to the airport was going to be a little delayed (you don't see customer service like that anymore!). My thanks also go out to the housekeeping staff who went above-and-beyond making sure my travel companion and I had a delectable room to stay in. All-in-all I'd say my stay at the Wilshire Hotel was top notch and the staff who work there deserve to win an award. Mehr

I live here for a night, the carpet was old th room was facing the street and has single pane windows , I did not sleep for more then 2 ours the noise from the street was rediculous. The entrance hall was nice and the staff was pleasant and friendly .I will never stay at this place again.

I got a good price on-line for the room, and it was perfectly adequate. I was put off by all the negative reviews but chose to stay at the hotel, anyway, because its location was right where I needed to be. What needed to be clean was perfectly clean. Who steps on a hotel carpet barefoot unless they're at a top of the line place, anyway? For the price, […] the Wilshire Hotel is just fine. You have to pay more for more in Los Angeles. Mehr

I wish it was not madatory to use a valet parking. Their is no room servise after a certain hour.

It was close to where we needed to be. We felt safe in the neighborhood. The lobby was beautiful, however the room carpeting must be at least 25 years old. The bathroom was clean, but looked at least 25 years old as well. The TV included one childrens channel. The view was nice, the beds were doubles, not terribly comfortable. Additional $$ for parking […] & all parking was valet. Hotel employees were very pleasant. Mehr

I did not think the hotel was as bad as some of the reviews. I found the desk staff to be friendly and helpful. I think parking was a bit high at $25.00 a night- they call it a valet fee. The rooms were a bit outdated but the beds were comfortable. The subway was directly across from the hotel- thats handy as driving in LA is a nightmare. Plenty of […] restaurants in walking proximity. Overall, I would stay again. The price was good for the area. Mehr

the hotel is very well locate, but too expensive, do´n't have parking($25 per day), expensive breakfast.

Terrible hotel!...very outdated for the price of the rooms.

nice hotel; nice room; next to metro station; walk to restaurants surprisingly, traffic noise came thru 11 floor window. worst part is the poor WiFi

This hotel is in a good location to access a lot of great restaurants, however the decor and comfort were a little disappointing.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The rooms.were so nice and the hotel was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downfall was the parking. There's no free parking only $25 valet. But other than that it was great ;-) price wawa right too!

If you have a chance to stay anywhere else, do it. This is the only decent hotel I could find in Koreatown. Hotel rooms are shabby, beds are super hard, and the neighborhood does not have a lot to offer unless you love Korean food or are Korean.
