Arrived at the hotel very late and the staff was very nice and responsive. Rooms were clean and well kept.

For the money we paid for this hotel, a twin room, the hotel was great value for money, large enough room for a twin, located conveniently in Stowe and the surrounding grounds of the hotel were very quaint/beautiful. I would come back to this hotel again.

I enjoyed staying here. They had a breakfast spot literally 20 steps from my door! It was a short ride to the mountain. There was a restaurant within walking distance. The heated towel rack was a bonus! The bed was comfortable with good blankets.

We stayed at the Golden Eagle several years ago and were impressed by the wide variety of activities available on site.. This time, we stayed longer and took full advantage. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool and whirlpool, and afternoon hot chocolate and cookies, as well as the games room. Rooms are comfortable, and great dining is just across […] the street - try Pie in the Sky or O'Grady's -- we found both good. Close to skiing (we did both downhill and cross-country during our stay. Wireless internet was a great help, although the signal was a bit weak at times. In all, great value and all the amenities we wanted. Mehr

We found the Golden Eagle resort to fulfill our needs on our 3 day trip to Stowe. We especially liked the pool/sauna/hot tub facility. It was well lit, clean, warm and comfortable. My wife already wants to book for next year again.

THis hotel was clean, a big issue for many in this price range. The location was excellent and the hosts are very nice. It was a pleasant surprise (since I've been burned before).

The Golden Eagle Resort is conveniently located, staffed by overly helpful individuals, and an overall great value for the price. The land it is located on makes one feel like you are in a peaceful and somewhat isolated area, yet restaurants are a short walk away. hotel is in a great spot in stowe, close to everything. Hotel itself is set up strangly-have to leave room and go outside to get to pool or main lobby. wouldn't want to stay in winter. room was ok bed was great but bathroom very small. we stay in stowe at least three times a year and try out new places all the time. We stayed at the Golden Eagle for the first time and it exceeded our expectations. Very clean, very friendly and considering that it was Stowe at the peak of fall color, the price was exceptional. I would highly recommend this resort hotel to anyone.

I think the pictures on the internet make the buildings and facilities look newer and in better shape than they are. The internet makes them look more sparkling, where I found them rustic on the outside, and not elegant on the inside. It was clean, and a very large room, with a great view, it just wasn't as it appeared on the internet, so I think I […] paid a little more than I would have had I seen it live first. Mehr

Excellent position. Easy to walk into Stowe Village.Showing its age but rooms perfectly adequate. Good facilities including indoor pool and games area. Breakfast not included but good breakfast restaurant in grounds

This hotel was nice, but nothing special. Clean, spacious, good location. Sprawling campus with several buildings. Nice staff at desk, free computer in lobby. Free tea and coffee. Smallish bathroom (bring your own soap and shampoo since theirs isnt great), but everything worked and no complaints.

The location of the resort is great. 3 miles down the road from the mountain and aboiut a mile away from main street. The rooms were large and we were upgraded to a condo. Kepping in mind that this is Vermont, the hotel is about the norm. I didn't think that the bed was very comfortable (but I am picky). There was a wood burning fireplace and the living […] area is huge. We could have slept 6 people here easily. I will admit, there was an old cabin-like smell, but it wasn't enough to bother me. This hotel is not updated, but it is clean and in a great location. Plus, the husband and wife that run it are very friendly and helped my husband and I plan some great morning hikes in the area. We stayed in a lower level room in the back, so half the walls are actually underground and the rest faces North= dampness. The room was comfortable after we ran the dehumidifier that was in the washroom for a couple of hours while we were out. friendly staff. Good cookies. Nice pools.

Cannot get better place for the money! Good place to stay.

We'll be back!

We arrived at this property early in the day trying to outrun a tropical storm. The front desk staff could not have been any nicer to us. They were helpful in finding us two rooms to check into early. The rooms are charming and the resort is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend the Golden Eagle Resort.

What a delightful place! I am really surprised it is not rated higher. We stopped for one night, and were sorry we didn't have more time to spend both at the Golden Eagle and at Stowe. Rooms are a little old-fashioned, but in a nice way, with comfortable beds, a clean and comfortable bath, and a small closet/pantry area offering a fridge and ironing […] board. If we are ever in the neighborhood again, we won't consider staying anywhere else! Mehr

The 3 night stay here was great. The room was excellent ( we had an upgrade!). Our private porch was facing the woods, which had hiking trails right there!! (With trail maps at front desk). Morning coffee and afternoon cookies and tea at the office. Folks were fantastic and very helpful. Breakfast avaliable on site although we went to McCarthys across […] the street-our favorite place! The 5 mile walk path was across the street,easily accessible.Swimming pool-sauna-hottub,Great!! Swings plus for kids, along with a small fishing pond. Look forward to staying here again;soon! Mehr

Great place for the money. Would definitely go back again. Staff very friendly. The cafe had great breakfasts.

We stayed four nights at Golden Eagle to experience the skiing at nearby Stowe. We had a fabulous time. The accommodations were more than adequate, and everything was so convenient, just minutes from town and only 5 miles from the ski slopes. We had delicious breakfast in their breakfast restaurant at reasonable prices. There vouchers for the Stowe […] Ski Card really saved us money daily on lift tickets as well. Great place. Mehr

good location, friendly service, well priced

golden eagle worked well for us. we did not ski so perfect location for walking to restaurants & shops, loved well heeled, pricey but great stuff!, bed v. cosy.. stuffy smell in room, could'nt get rid of! had a 90min massage, just ok. therapist nice and friendly, but technique very choppy..... staff at reception v.friendly, especially gary.... basically […] you get what you pay for.it was pretty much what i expected and happy that king bed was v. comfortable... last comment , had breakfast at their restaurant staff v. nice but breakfast portions tiny!!! We stayed at the Golden Eagle Resort on our resent trip to cut a Christmas tree.The Hotel room was clean the beds were very comfortable. Nice Aquatic center with heated pool(nice and warm) gym and sauna.Stowe is a great family location.

Clean, comfortable, pool and sauna included. Free parking. Good breakfast. Resort did not honor the free breakfast offer. Had to spent another $24 on top of room rate.

We really enjoyed our stay here...with a great restaurant just across the road!

This was a very pleasant getaway, in the charming town of Stowe. The 'resort' consisted of a number of different lodging buildings in well-tended landscaped grounds. There was a small fitness centre and pool, with a sauna and jacuzzi, so easy to relax and unwind. I tried a massage, which was good and not over-priced. I was sad to leave and could have […] spent longer, enjoying the tranquillity and the clean mountain air. Outdoor activities abound in this area and the gentle laid-back atmosphere were compelling. Very nice place to stay for a weekend !

We visited the Golden Eagle Resort in mid-September, not the most active season in Stowe. Our room was quiet and spacious on the second floor. There is no elevator, but staff offered to help with luggage. The grounds are many acres of both forest and grassy areas, and include hiking or skiing trails as well as bike trails. We used both the fitness center […] and indoor pool. There is also a jacuzzi and an outdoor pool, and you can also arrange for massage. The resort is within walking distance of restaurants, markets, shops and movies. We liked it so much that we drove to Burlington for a day trip, then back to Stowe for a second night. We would return to this resort often if it was not clear across the country from where we live! Mehr

The staff was great and you got perfect breakfast in the cafe, but the room in an old annex was very old and the beeds were too old. I cannot recomend staying at this room but I am sure there are other rooms much better at the place. It was a last minute booking in the summer season - not much to choose between at this time.
