Ein sauberes freundliches Motel mit einem guten Frühstück , leider war im Frühstücksraum wenig Platz, so dass wir meistens warten mussten bis ein Tisch frei wurde. Zentrale Lage, gut geeignet für einen Aufenthalt auf Durchfahrt da die Zimmer schon klein sind.

Exactly what we'd expect for the price. Good Value.

Great except the refrigerator was making too much noise--like feedback; had to unplug it.

This hotel is okay. The only problem is theyre renovating and there is. Lot of construction. Less hotel amenities.customer service is great

Clean, nice, cheap hotel. Perfect for a one night stay.

The staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. We arrived right at 2:00, and our room was not yet ready. We waited a bit, and the staff offered to give us another room, which ended up being bigger than the original we were assigned. The hotel was getting new furniture that day, and from the looks of it, the fresh additions would be a nice […] touch for a value hotel. Our room at the very south end of the hotel had 2 windows that opened, letting in fresh air. It was on the side not facing the street, and was very quiet. The bed and bedding was comfortable, and we received an extra pillow upon request. The maids were friendly and helpful. Parking was close to the stairs where our room was, making it easier to load our equipment in & out of the room/car. Dennys was right across the street, the access to Rt. 94 was close, with Rt. 8 just a few minutes drive. You could catch the train (Metro) with a 5 minute walk up the hill. The town was quaint, with plenty of shops, and the train museum was worth checking out. I reccommend this hotel, as it is a good value for the money. Mehr

I spent two nights here because it's close to SDSU, but while the room was clean and the bedroom comfortable, I found the whole place to be too dingy. The staff was courteous, and they are in the middle of a remodel, but some of the furniture was missing during our stay. Someone did come in during the day to take our nightstand, which we discovered […] when we got back. They couldn't wait until we checked out? You get what you paid for, but I was expecting something more quality. Only stay here if you don't care about appearance or cleanliness. Mehr

The lady at the front desk was not polite. The room was dirty and had a bad odor. The room also had cigarette burns all over the curtains and rugs. Furniture was torn up and had a bad odor. I could hear people in the rooms around me and was frightened. I left an hour after checking in.

condition could be better but they're getting funds for upgrades soon. new management and they're top notch people and very friendly.

Hotel service was friendly and courteous. There was an attempted robbery while we were there but I had no idea that anything was going on until I stepped out for dinner and another patron told me what had happened. Office clerk was nice, room was clean, area seemed nice, convenient access to stores and fast food. I would recommend this hotel.

it was inexpensive and far enough away from the freeway so there wasn't any noise from that. it could use some new carpet in the hallways but the room was ok and the bed was comfortable. one thing i didn't like was that the tv had a governor on the volume and it was set way too low and couldn't be heard with the ac or fan on.. thanks closed captioning.. […] very nice people at the desk as well..there's a denny's close by and 7-11 and liquor store as well. easy on and off the freeway if you pay attention to the signs. usually about 20 minutes from downtown san diego..it's ok for sure for the money if you just need a place to sleep and clean up. Great rate. Excellent location. If you're traveling thru perfect place to spend the night. Clean room and tiny bathroom. Needs to have a few more parking stalls for when you return at night.

We needed a one night stay in a "value" hotel and were very happy with our stay here. The price was a bargain compared to most other San Diego hotels, and although the outside is a little run down, the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was spotless (accounting for a little aging, but clean as a whistle), the carpet was CLEAN - bare feet were […] not a problem. The beds were decently comfortable and we all slept well. Decor was slightly dated but since we were doing nothing but sleeping in our room, it didn't matter at all. Loved that there was a fridge and a microwave which came in very handy as my daughter doesn't like to eat in restaurants that much. La Mesa is inland a bit, but the ride to the zoo was only about 15-20 minutes and an easy drive. Return to the 8 Fwy was also only a tad over a mile north...easy access to everything in SD County. Unsecured building. The outside doors are left propped open all night.  Filthy and torn carpet in the hallway and in the room. Dirty tiny bathroom. Thin stained towels. Cigarette burns on the bathroom counter in the non-smoking room. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are right next to each other so the smell permeates all the rooms. Hard very uncomfortable […] bed. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, TV, hair dryer, free sporadic WiFi. Shady stuff going on in the parking lot and hallway. This is my 73rd booking with hotelscom. Mehr

Outstanding service, Super convenient location, and clean rooms. This room had everything! Fridgerator, microwave, cable, free internet, coffee maker, hair blow dryer, iron/board, firm beds and pillows. Never expect all this. Rodeway is stepping it up!

We travel to El Cajon twice a month so we look for bargains. We have stayed at the Travelodge and Days Inn in the area and none compare to the cleanliness of the rooms at Rodeway. This is our 3rd time at this hotel and they always accomodate my handicapped mother. We love it here.

Great location, Denny's and iHop within 2 min drive or walk (one is actually across the street). Easy access to freeways. Breakfast was not much, bed was quite firm, but this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel and neither was the price. Good value for a good location.

We were there for two days...price was our reason for picking this hotel. Things were OK until the second day when we returned to our room at 4:3o PM and the room had not been serviced... too late for us to call the desk as we were in the room for the night... very disappointing..

We have stayed here before just to spend the night while passing thru San Diego. Usually great experience. Affordable, convenient and comfy. Don't expect a laid out continental breakfast or mints on the pillow. This is just an excellent stop over hotel. Near Denny's and 7 eleven and 94 freeway. And the pillows were firm and new.

We brought our pillows after reading the reviews which wasn't necessary. The pillows were new and firm. Room was spacious, clean and came with a micro-wave and refridgerator. The location was perfect. Off the 94 and near the 8 freeway. The price was affordable. The continential breakfast only consisted of donuts, juice and coffee. Free wi-fi was included. […] For some reason my laptop caught a virus while logged onto their wireless router. I'm Not sure if it had anything to do with it. Overall, this is a perfect place to stay if just passing through and you need a great location near Spring Vally, Lemon Grove or La Mesa. Mehr

The hotel was run-down. The carpets were dirty. The staff was very nice, although I returned one evening to find that I had no towels or toiletries.

Hotel was very noisy with kids running up and down the halls. Bath towels were paper thin and my remote didn't work for the tv. Pillows were very flat too. Best to bring your own pillows. Front desk only allowed 1 extra pillow and 1 towel and refused to bring them to my room. I had to go get them and they were rude about it. Definately, not worth the […] money. Plus, pubic hair on the toilet and hair in the shower from previous guests. YUCK!! Mehr

Beds were horrible. I've stayed at 2 star hotels in Carlsbad for the same price with granite counter tops. This hotel has holes in the wall, smells, beds are like cardboard, horrible area. Spend the extra 20 bucks and stay somewhere else. Ice machine was broken too.

I normally don't stay in La Mesa so it was out of my typical area of Point Loma. The hotel clerks were very nice. Shower had good water pressure and the towels were soft. The rooms were a bit out dated but overall it's a good place to stay if your in that area.

This was not my first time staying at this hotel, and I will probably stay there again. You can't beat the price for a clean place to stay. It is conveniently close to several freeways, has a Denny's and a 7-11 right across the street, and a trolley station on the same block. I would just reccomend bringing extra pillows. They include two flat pillows […] in the room, and the front desk would only give one extra even though there were two of us in the room. Mehr

We had nothing but a positive experience here...as others have said, you get what you pay for, but we only planned on sleeping at this hotel and were there just for the night time. Not the cleanest or most glamorous (the carpets were dirty, but the bathrooms and beds were clean) but it suited our needs just fine. About 15 minutes from the coast, and […] close to the freeway. My stay was just fine. I had recently read several comments about the hotel from other guests stay, and I did not find most of the comments to be true. The room was clean, front staff was very informative and kind and the cleaning crew were very nice and accommodating as well. I generally hate staying in a hotel. The rates were reasonable and the hotel was in a convenient location when you are meeting with family members coming from different directions.
