Wir möchten immer ein Zimmer zum Hof haben und nicht eines im angrenzenden Hotelgebäude. Ich habe deshalb schon die teurere Zimmerkategorie gebucht mit 2 Betten. Aber wie letztes Mal 10 Dollar Upgrade gezahlt. Aber dafür super freundlicher Service. Super Preis Leistungsverhälltnis für San Francisco und tolle lage zu Fuß 5-10Minuten zur Fisherman-Warf. Auch parken für 12 Dollar in San Francisco ,es sind es in den meisten anderen Hotels 25-50 Dollar.Jederzeit wieder.

Das Hotel liegt in der Geary St. ein paar Blocks vom Union Square. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im zweiten Stockwerk im Mittelgang, was den großen Vorteil hat, dass man den Straßenlärm nicht mitbekommt, sondern nur den gelegentlichen Lärm den andere Gäste verursachen. Die Zimmer haben nur ein kleines Fenster mit einem wenig schönen Ausblick auf den Innenhof. Das Continental Breakfast besteht aus Kaffee, Toast m. Butter u. Marmelade, O- bzw. Apfelsaft u. einem Stück Obst. Problematisch ist die Parkplatzsituation, da gleich vor der Haustür eine Bushaltestelle ist und ansonsten i.d.R. nur Parkplätze für Kurzparker vorhanden sind. Das Hotel bietet für 30 $ p. Tag einen Valetparkservice an, d.h. es kommt jemand u. parkt das Auto irgendwo, was sehr gut funktioniert hat. Das Hotel liegt zwar in der Nähe des Unionsquare aber auch sehr dicht am Tenderloin Bezirk, den man vor allem Nachts meiden sollte. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel vom Preis - Leistungsverhältnis weiter empfehlen!

In der Nähe befindet sich auch die City Hall. Ihre goldene Kuppe glänzt inmitten des grauen Betons des Civic Center. Das San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center ist eines der größten Zentren für darstellende Kunst in den USA. Japantown hat eine fünfstufige Pagode als Wahrzeichen. Castro District, das größte Homosexuellenviertel der Stadt, ist nur eine kurze Fahrt entfernt. Auch das Stadtviertel Haight-Ashbury - einst Bastion der Gegenkultur -, das auch als Tor zum Golden Gate Park gilt, ist nicht weit entfernt.

Es ist sauber und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Einrichtung ist auf "Ikeanieveau" und macht auf jugendlich. Es täuscht aber nicht darüber hinweg, dass die Zimmer klein und sehr schlicht sind. Die amerikanische Großzügigkeit in Bezug auf Wohnen konnten wir nicht finden. "Tolles Hotel mit kleinem Haken..."
Das Hotel selbst ist absolut weiterzuempfehlen - komfortabel, stylisch, hip, sauber! Nur die Lage ist nicht so ganz optimal - liegt in SOMA, recht zentral, aber man hat viele Obdachlose direkt vor der Haustür und auf dem Weg ins Zentrum. Wir haben uns nicht unsicher gefühlt - aber ein anderes Mal haben wir bei Haight Ashbury übernachtet und einen erheblichen […] (positiven!) Unterschied festgestellt! "Zentralnah"
liegt an der 7th Kreuzung Mission St. - näher gehts nicht. Die Umgebung ist Fragwürdig (Bettler und Wohnungslose), aber davon darf man sich nicht irritieren lassen. Wie schon jemand schrieb: Augen zu und durch. Es passiert nichts. Wer also ein zentral nahes preiswertes Hotel sucht, ist hier bestens aufgehoben.
"nice hotel in zentraler Lage zum shopping district"
Ausstattung, Service und Preis sind für ein Hotel dieser Klasse wirklich Top! Lage ist okay, gerade wer zum shoppen nach SF kommt - Northstream Shopping Mall ist in unmittelbarer Nähe. Wer gut zu Fuß ist kann viele highlights von SF zu Fuß erkunden. Problematisch ist einzig die Umgebung des Hotels. Leider sehr viele Zwielichtige Gestalten rund ums SOMA […] district, die mitunter auch mal pöbeln können. Einzige Möglichkeit ist die Nutzung von PKW bzw. Taxis oder einfach Augen zu und durch... "Freundliches und Trendiges Hotel"
Das Good Hotel liegt direkt am Civic Center (direkt Verbindung zum Flughafen). Leider sieht der Block sehr herunter gekommen aus mit vielen Obdachlosen. Jedoch verändert sich die Gegend schlagartig nach ca. 500m. Man muss also wirklich keine Bedenken haben. In den 4 Tagen unseres Besuches wurden wir nicht einmal in SFO von Bettlern o.ä. angesprochen. Die […] Zimmer sind modern und farbenfroh ausgestattet. Im Hotel gibt es kostenlos W-Lan oder einen Fest-PC gegen Gebühr sowie eine Pizzeria mit wirklich leckerer aber nicht ganz günstiger Pizza. Auch Parkplätze sind vorhanden sowie Leihfahrräder. Besonders positiv war das freundliche Personal - immer hilfsbereit mit vielen Tipps. Sie haben sogar ohne Bitten für uns eine Alcatraz-Tour telefonisch reserviert und einen Tisch in einem Restaurant - nicht selbstverständlich! "Gutes Hotel zu gutem Preis"
Ein gutes Hotel sehr stylisch alles nur die Zimmer sind etwas klein aber sehr sauber. Es liegt leider angrezend zu einer nicht so schönen Gegend von SF. Das parken ist mit 20$pro Tag auch sehr teuer und telefonieren vom Zimmer sollte auch vermieden werden innerorts Gespräch 1 min 7 Dollar !!!
"Gute Lage"
Für einen Kurzaufenthalt in San Francisco kann man mit dem Hotel nichts verkehrt machen. Die Zimmer sind hell und freundlich eingerichtet und auch das Bad bietet alles was man braucht. Einziger negativer Aspekt sind die hohen Parkkosten (ca. 28 Dollar pro Tag).

Vom Preis her ein tolles Angebot, welches auch relativ nahe zu vielen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten liegt. Leider ist die Umgebung Nachts sehr laut und mit den schlechten Fenstern wird man nicht nur nachts öfters geweckt, sondern es kann auch relativ kühl werden. Wenn das Hotel schon mit öko-freundlich wirbt, so wäre mal eine bessere Isolation angesagt. Ich […] hatte ein Courtyard-Zimmer gebucht welche nicht im Haupthaus liegen. "Great service and nice rooms, but many homeless"
Great hotel with very good service, free WIFI, free baggage storage after checking out until flight. Super friendly receptionists. You can reach downtown or the great spots of SOMA quickly. Only down-side is that the area has quiet some homeless people. But I guess that's why the Hotel has an Excellent Price level...
Took me looking at 4 rooms to find an acceptable one. Windows looking right into brick walls and no ventilation. Very spartan and not as cool as it sounded to be. No services to speak of. No place really to work in room. Surrounding neighborhood was "rough" to put it mildly.

"I would not recommend the hotel"
This is not the first time I've stayed at the Good Hotel but it's definitely the worst. The furniture & carpet in my room was stained. The heat wasn't properly working initially. The hotel's server went down later in the evening...it was I who called to report it...and it did not get fixed until the following morning. I was trying to work and was told […] I would get a call when it was fixed...I never got that call. Finally, I didn't get a sense of quality customer service from the front desk staff. Mehr

"Good Hotel San Francisco"
Stayed there for 2 days - pretty centrally located downtown. Walking distance to BART. Surroundings are lot's of homeless no danger, all peaceful people.

For the money, I thought the hotel was good value, and I have no complaints really. Room serviced daily. Neat, tidy, clean.

"The Good Hotel - Is pretty Good"
It is not too far from Union Square. It's not in the greatest part of town, but it is not too shady. The photo booth is cool, but it cost $5...really?!? All in all it was nice hotel. Very clean, and sustainable. GOOD!

"So Much Missed Potential: Needs Fine Tuning"
I normally refrain from writing negative reviews because I realize that no facility is perfect and it's unrealistic to expect EVERYTHING to be perfect. I've stayed in really expensive places that should be ashamed to charge what they do and inexpensive places that are a STEAL because of their attention to detail. (see Hotel Current in Long Beach) When […] you consider where this hotel is (downtown San Francisco) and the other hotels in the area, this could EASILY be a five star hotel (or above). However, that would require some effort beyond a charming remodel and a fantastic concept. The staff is "adequate" - and nothing more. We had a devil of a time locating our room because the person working the desk when we checked made no effort to let us know it might be tricky to find (it was upstairs in the back) OR that there was a stairwell right next to it. So until we discovered that ourselves, we hauled our ashes (as well as our luggage) up two flights of stairs and walked all the way around the courtyard. The free wi-fi is absurd. If I can take a brand new laptop into McDonalds or Urban Outfitters and connect with their FREE PUBLIC wi-fi easily, why should I have to call a 1-800 number for support, wait for a call back and then STILL experience a super-slow connection that required continual re-connection in a hotel that I'm PAYING for? I shouldn't. The air-conditioning/heating in the room also needs some fine tuning. It ALSO required a phone call (to the front desk) to figure out, since I read English and not "symbol." And then we were told that to get the heat to come on, we should "turn the thermostat up to 86 degrees and wait at least 15 minutes" for it to begin working. Really? in a hotel that bills itself as "Green"? I think not. The hotel also has some questionable "credit card hold" practices. During my stay, I witnessed guests who were trying to check in but who were unable to because the hotel was putting a hold for their entire 7 day stay PLUS a $210 "inci Mehr

"A "Good" idea in a BAD neighborhood..."
Let me start with the "Good": The concept of a modern/minimalist theme in a hotel isn't a very American frequency, but pretty comfortable if you have traveled to Europe. This place continues that theme. New feeling, minimal amenities, clean. The place reflects a modern theme with eco-friendly ideas. The bed was comfortable. After dark, the 'SoMa' area of downtown SF is ripe with crack dealers, crack heads and hookers. Not the friendliest area in town... The 'minimalist' theme also meant 'minimal' pillows (in number and size), minimal blanket (1 thin blanket, like you would expect at Cousin Eddie's place), and the 'modern' heat system was a trick to turn on, aka we couldn't figure out the flippin control so just went to sleep in a cold room. It was a catch-22 for parking; there was plenty of street parking, but we were scared to leave our car on the street - nobody wants to deal with a broken window and we ante'd the $22 for some peace of mind, the car was fine in the hotel parking. "Not that great"
They have two types of rooms, in the building, and in the courtyard. I was in the courtyard room, which was just like a Motel 6, only slightly less comfortable. No desk or chair to speak of. The dresser was so light it tipped over. The couch was stained and needed to be replaced. The alarm clock was not plugged in correctly, and it took me some under-bed […] maneuvering to plug it in. Could have been a good place, but maintenance seems very shoddy. For the price, and the fact that I spent little time in my room, it was OK. Mehr
"Good-Enough Hotel"
The room itself was very nice, spacious and comfortable. The hotel lobby feels a bit like a hostel but is fine. The neighborhood was not great in the daytime and scary at night. This part of SoMa seems like it may be slowly improving as it's gentrified, but it's still awfully close to the Tenderloin and there are plenty of homeless/crazies/drug addicts […] hanging around and panhandling and yelling at nothing and defecating on the sidewalks. We were woken up at 3am two nights in a row by general noise in the street below. I think that for the price this hotel is fine--the room really was very nice--but if you're not concerned about being super-close to the convention center or federal building or civic center, I'm sure that you can do better than this neighborhood. Hotel was fine, very clean, good bed, etc. Room was on the small side. a desk would have been nice. The neighborhood could be better. the loaner bicycles were a nice touch.

"The Good Hotel is perfectly fine"
Room rate was very good compared to most other options, and the room was much nicer than I expected. Very small, but perfectly serviceable. My room was not facing the street, so it was very quiet and comfortable. And the best part: they take dogs, so my little buddy could come along. Not the best 'hood -- but I felt safe and sound in the hotel, and […] didn't worry about my car in the tight little lot patrolled by a guard. While the Mission has always had a bad rep, and this hotel is close to the worst of it, keep in mind that the Mission is getting better all the time. Anyway, this hotel is a good deal in SF! Mehr

"Cold and Noisy"
this place has the weirdest heaters. It was freezing and I finaly after four calls to the front desk got somone to pick up the phone. They had to send a maint. man to figure out the heater. If you stay here bring ear plugs and sleeping pills. The TV system tries to sell you movies and makes it hard to just watch plain old television. It did have free […] Wi-Fi but everyone staying there seemed to feel the need to slam their doors every time they came or went. Good Luck!!! Mehr
"Good Hotel - good budget hotel in SF"
Excellent value for money and good for all the Downtown locations and 5 mins walk to the BART (for the airport). Rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped but compact compared to some US Hotels. The neighbourhood is a bit on the rough side (lots of homeless) but I didn't once feel unsafe in and around the hotel.
Very seedy area...older hotel with minimal comfort. The shower in the bathroom barely had any water pressure. Staff on premise not very hospitable and not well informed with surrounding ammenities. Definitely would not recommend...
"Good value hotel, sketchy neighborhood"
The accommodations were fine, and the room was small, but manageable for two people with two double beds. However, the noise outside was quite loud (even with the windows closed) and the surrounding neighborhood looked pretty ghetto (and foul smelling). Like a budget boutique hotel. Clean and efficient. Close to BART station and city center. Three blocks away from shopping district.
"Great location - Mediocre room"
The location of the Good Hotel was amazing. Close to all the main attractions of the city. The parking was atrocious. It is a small one way parking lot and you have to maneuver yourself to get out. If you don't have a compact car, don't bother. Upon arrival, our power was out for 30 minutes (but that was probably not their fault; just inconvenient). […] The front desk staff were helpful in finding everything we needed. There are cars and bikes to rent. Cute decor. None of the windows open to allow for fresh air in the room. The AC started leaking water in the middle of the night and in the morning when we started looking at the AC, we noticed a tremendous amount of mold built up in the AC. It's not the most glam hotel, and breakfast is not even included. Bút if you want a cheap hotel close to market street and all of the shops, then this is an ok place to stay at. The double beds were a bit small to sleep two people in, but we managed. Good Hotel is definitely spartan, and the condition has deteriorated a bit since my last stay 2+ years ago, but it is acceptable. The location can be good depending on what you want to do. It's a block from a BART/Muni station in a neighborhood which has been transitioning from skid row to yuppies for the last 20 years or so, but is not as dangerous […] as it looks. Service is friendly and efficient, but they should provide directions to use the thermostat and let you know that hot and cold are reversed in the shower. Mehr

It was a perfectly fine place if you need a place to crash after a day sightseeing and bouncing around the city, however I found walking out my room into the open air central courtyard/parking lot in the middle of SOMA a bit startling.
