one of the hotel managers wasnt very pleasent to deal with at first she asked if we were from that area and she thought we said yes and then she said that they dont accept anyone from the surrounding area...but her attitude was just plain terrible...fmy suggestion just find a diffrent hotel folks...try super 8 these are my fiances and i number one choice […] for hotels.. We were worried about the two-star rating but were pleasantly surprised by the clean, tidy rooms. While the hotel is older, it was comfortable and the staff was super nice. Don't expect mints on the pillow but if you want a quick nights rest, not a bad option.

overall the hotel was rundown. The lobby was full of cigarette smoke.

The accomodations were adequate for the price but the non-smoking room had an odor of something that wasn't all that pleasant. Even thought the room was cleaned the furniture, carpets, etc. were stained. The bathroom was in need of a few repairs and when we tried to use the shower the bathroom was somewhat flooded as the showerhead was hard to direct […] and the curtain was only cloth. This hotel was close to the part of Altoona that we wanted to be in, but as all of Altoona isn't very attractive, this place was right in step! Not very attractive, non-functioning lights in our room, weird staff...this was on the LOW end of "you get what you pay for"!

rugs were wet and dirty in the room had ants all over the counter and they did not have enough food in the morning at there breakfast bar for the people at the hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the EconoLodge. There was a refrigerator, microwave and cable TV. The room was clean but the motel did show its age. The continental breakfast had everytning: a waffle machine, bagels, breakfast rolls, coffee and orange juice. Compared to the price of other motels in the area, it was a bargain.

Rooms need general maintenance, carpet worn and in need of replacing. The advertised breakfast was unacceptable. I ended up at a ocal restaurant for breakfast.

Hotel staff were super friendly. It is conveniently located to the main strip and is right off of the road. The hotel is actually located behind the office so you do not hear traffic from the road. Rooms were fairly clean, very comfortable...maintenance of the hotel overall was ok.

Room was fine if you don't want any perks such as an alarm clock or phone directory. Older hotel and it smelled like they had just washed carpet or sprayed something trying to make it smell clean. Close to restaurants and Penn State campus. Very inexpensive so you get what you pay for.

I believe that this hotel does not have a manager. Otherwise, if he/she is not aware what happens in the rooms, he/she must see what happens in the lobby. For example, the lobby is by the small restaurant that you should go for breakfast. You can see lots of smoke that comes from the front desk!!!. Who cares! lots of old ladies are working there and […] they prefer talk together instead of working for costumers. My room was not so clean, specially bathroom was terrible!!!!. The quality of some materials, like tissue and .... were very low. Mehr

Room was clean and pretty much what was expected. Unfortunately, only five channels to choose from on TV because cable was out. Late night partying on second floor more then made up for the "quiet" TV.

We stayed at the Econo Lodge in Altoona Pa., The staff was very friendly, we check in late, and there was no problem with them holding the room for us. I was pleased with the room, it was fairly clean, and the beds and bedding was very clean and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was awesome. I was however not very pleased with the so called […] breakfast, not a very big selection to choose from, and they only offered coffee and powered hot chocolate and the hot water was not hot enough to mix it in. Good room for the value. The room had some sort of odor, but it wasn't too bad. We only stayed for one night and the price was great!

rooms were dated and a bit dirty. I wouldn't stay there again.

The only thing that must be changed is the breakfast. They need to make sure there is enough for everyone.

WELL THIS HOTEL ITS OK FOR ONE NIGHT STAY IT WAS FAIR ENOUGH... ESPECIALLY THE PRICE WAS FAIR ....

Fairly clean room, although the comforter hadn't been recently laundered. But, for one night, bed was soft, shower worked great, and the non-smoking room didn't smell like smoke. But, TV was awful, very snowy/fuzzy and there was no clock in the room.

The room smelt of stale smoke, like an ashtray had been rubbed into the carpet. My 9 month old was crawling on the carpet, after 20 minutes of crawling her hands and feet were black. During this time my husband went to complain that a non-smoking room smelt of stale smoke. The "receptionist" told my husband he "cannot complain". My husband told her […] that he has every right to complain and that he wanted the name of her manager. She gave the name of her manager and added:" he's a lawyer, he'll sort this out" needless to say I will NOT be staying there ever again! Mehr

Clean room, clean shower, decent shower pressure. Couch was lumpy and TV didn't work that well, but all we did was sleep there anyway.
