Das Hotel ist schon etwas "abgewohnt". Auf unsere Reklamation des Zimmers (alt, abgenutzt, Bad unakzeptabel) bekamen wir ein nicht besseres (nur etwas größer) zugewiesen (Schimmel am Waschbecken- u. Badewannenrand, Toilette "außen hui unten pfui"). Die Tische im Frühstücksraum waren nicht eingedeckt, Gäste mussten warten. Service unkooriniert; Barservice […] gut. A bit of a trek to reach but worth it...this hotel is very well situated a little way back from the beach with some pleasant views of the golf course too. The room had a modern feel and was excellently presented, in particular the smart bathroom with it's overhead shower cubical. The bed was oversized and very comfortable. Without a car the hotel is […] a bit out of the way, the buses take almost an hour to get into Dublin and the 25-30 minute walk to the Dart station doesn't make that option any quicker. A taxi at night would be around €30, but thankfully a half-hourly night bus drops off at the White Sands, which is just over 5 minutes walk away. Returning to the hotel after 1am the reception was manned and the adjacent bar/restaurant still open. If I am wanting a hotel in this area again, I will look at this one first. I did not sample the food, but I imagine it is of a standard befitting the hotel. Mehr

The hotel was very nice and right on a golf course and beach, so that makes things very easy. The only minus that we experienced were the dinner prices and the distance to any other restaurants. Great hotel though!

Our room was very clean, spacious, and modern. The bathroom was state of the art. And the breakfast was simply wonderful. I wish I could live here. We saved a lot of money staying here as opposed to the city center. The #32 bus stop was right in front of the hotel and ran every 30 minutes. The pleasant and scenic drive took about 40 minutes to reach […] the downtown. Moreover the coastal breeze was refreshing. I do not know how anyone can find fault with this hotel. Mehr

Had room 235 and it was top quality. Newly refurbished and hallways excellent. Missing was a safe??? .Would say that a safe is essential. Breakfast greatly improved.

We checked in late and there were 2 girls behind the desk who were both very welcoming and accomodating, I must say I've stayed in hotels with higher star ratings who were not nearly as helpful as here. I found the hotel to be clean and the breakfast was amazing, well worth the extra few euro

Our stay at the hotel was magnificent. The room, the amenities, the food and the rates were outstanding. We found the front desk staff friendly and helpful and the restaurant staff very professional. The proximity to the beach, other activities and the trains was a bonus.

Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links has quite stylish main areas, but our room was very dated and unattractive.

This was a beautiful hotel on the shores of the Irish Sea. It is a little bit of a distance from Dublin, but well worth the distance for the scenery. There is a pleasant village a couple of miles away called Malehide with a wonderful castle and grounds. We then took the train into Dublin and caught the train and a bus back to Portmarnock. Beautiful relaxing setting in the suburbs of County Dublin, short walk to Portmarnock stores and drive to Malahide. About a 15 minute drive to city center. The food in the onsite restaurants was excellent, but they did seem understaffed and service was slow. The only other comment was that the towels smelled of vinegar which they may use in washing […] or disinfecting, but it was noticable and not pleasant. Overall a fantastic hotel for the price and location, and I would be happy to return. Mehr

w e stay room only cause breakfast is pretty poor. e.g dried up bacon soggy eggs. send chef to cafe Pronvence Church street Malahide to sample a well cooked well pesented breakfast. Thats where we eat. If we don,t trust ur breakfast why would we risk dinner ?? Cleanliness of room excellent and we,ve used every floor

We were attending a family Wedding and were quite pleased with the chice of venue. When we arrived and checked in we had to just drop our bags and leave for the reception, we did however note the wooden floor in the corridor leading to our room and thought it was quite unusual as everyone else in our party had carpeted corridors outside theirs. During […] the Wedding Reception we could hear the staff complain about some of the guests and their menu choices and there was not enough deserts for everyone in the party. As soon as the tea and coffee was served the staff left - without even offereing to serve the wedding cake! When we went back to our room in the early hours of the morning their were several black bin bags full of rubbish in the corridor down from our room, not the nicest site. There were 2 pilliows on the bed both on top of each other - like a single bed? We only found 1 spare pillow in the wardrobe, yet my mother had 4? At 7.30am on Sunday morning the noise started - walking up and down the wooden corridor with trolleys - it was relentless and any chance of sleep was gone. I decided to have a bath only to see that the bath was dirty with alot of back hairs in the bath and on the side - a shower was the only option. When we left the room we discovered the source of the noise - several laundry cages along the narrow corridor, it was clearly a back of house service area. I mentioned all of this on check out and the only response I received is that housekeeping were aware the room was occupied and should have kept the noise down, and as for the dirty bath was only asked why I hadn't called to complain. As a former Hotel Manager I found the experience extremely poor and felt that as we hadn't booked their deluxe rooms and we had booked from a website the receptionist thought that that is all we deserved - we didn't matter. Excellent location,practically on the beach.Staff friendly and helpful.Only complaint was that the main Restaurant was not open on the Sunday night and the choice of bar food was not up to four star standards.

I would recommend the remodeled rooms that are large, with beautiful furnishings, large bed, A/C and view of golf course.

This is a lovely place and we enjoyed the hotel and its surroundings.

Hotellet (egentlig et hotell med tilhørende konferansesenter) ligger i det lille tettstedet Portmarnock, ca.5 kilometer fra forstaden Malahide Beregn ca.40 minutters gange inn til Malahide, en svært pittoresk liten by. Det er ellers gode transportmuligheter inn til Dublin: Busser, både til Dublin og Malahide, går fra selve hotellområdet. Fra Malahide […] går det i tillegg tog inn til byen. Hotellet har en svært bra restaurant (The Osborne Grill), og serverer mindre måltider i baren og i cocktailloungen. Servicen er god - resepsjonen printer ut rutetider og togtabeller kostnadsfritt, de er behjelpelige med opplysninger om nærområdet, og betjeningen er generelt svært høflige og oppmerksomme. Kostnadsfritt Internett i resepsjonen; hotellet har wi-fidekning i samtlige rom og fellesarealer. Et minus: Det er ingen pool på hotellet, men de har til gjengjeld en privat strand, dersom det frister med en dukkert i Irskehavet. Standardrommene er av bra kvalitet - mitt rom hadde to digre enkeltsenger, med gode madrasser og puter. Bra treningssenter også, som du har adgang til med romnøkkelen døgnet rundt - rent og ryddig (i likhet med resten av hotellet). Alt i alt et godt og veldrevet hotell, attpåtil med en Irlands beste golfbaner beliggende på selve hotellområdet (den er designet av Bernhard Langer). Men det ligger altså litt utenfor allfarvei - Portmarnock er et temmelig søvnig lite sted. Hvis du, som meg, er glad i å gå, er ikke dette noe problem - det er fin gangvei inn til Malahide, og en kort taxitur koster jo heller ikke all verden i Irland - dersom du ikke velger bussen,da. Og så er det ganske livat her i helgene - mange kommer for å spille golf da, og det er munter og avslappet stemning i baren og restauranten; lett å komme i kontakt med folk. Jeg spiller ikke golf selv, men jeg anbefaler dette hotellet uten videre forbehold. Jeg hadde en svært hyggelig langweekend her, i fellesskap med andre sosiale gjester! Mehr

Cet hôtel est excellent. Il réunit tout ce qu'on recherche en Irlande. Un peu éloigné de la ville, il est face à la mer et laisse découvrir les merveilleux paysages d'Irlande. Il est desservi par un bus direct pour l'aéroport (le 102) et un autre direct pour Dublin (le 32A et 32B) - 30 minutes de trajet pour chaque- donc on peut y aller et profiter […] autant de la ville que de la mer. Le quartier de l'hôtel est très haut de gamme, idem pour sa clientèle puisqu'il possède un terrain de golf. Le personnel est très serviable et très efficace. Je le recommande pour ceux qui ne veulent pas s'enfermer dans la ville et qui veulent découvrir le pays dans toute sa richesse. Mehr

I don't even play golf, and I loved it! The situation is stunning, the (regular) rooms are spacious and elegant, the staff actaully seems to like their job, the attention to detail is great. Was a bit worried before we came that it might be inconvenient - far from everything, but it is no problem stying there going into Dublin on the dart or bus, […] or finding places to eat nearby - outside the hotel.
