Monumental Movieland Hotel Orlando - Orlando

In den Zimmern riecht es unangenehm muffig wie in einem Keller. Ich würde dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen.

Es ist ein geniales Hotel für die Universal Studios/Island of Adventure. Es ist sehr nahe und die Ausstattung ist ausreichend.

After reading multiple negative reviews about this hotel i was some what concerned. To my suprise it was a very nice quite Hotel. We stayed for 5 nights and never had any issues. This is not a luxary hotel but if you are looking for a place to stay with your family on vacation it is great. Very clean and secure. My friend an i stayed 1 night here its so close 2 universal dont get much better. They put a bunch of old posters on the wall to call it movieland i guess... just funny to me!

Hotel is in a great location- directly opposite Wet'n'Wild on International Drive. Absolutely fine for a night or two but probably not for an extended stay.

Not a bad place to dump your stuff and go. "Value" lodging. This place would be on the next level if they had internet in the rooms and a hot tub. Their pool is actually impressive (olympic size and 8' at one end). I would recommend if cost is a major concern. You can stay here your first 5`6 days in Orlando, then go to Hilton Grand Resorts Seaworld […] to decompress for your last 1~2 days. Mehr

the staff there are really toooooooooooooooooooo lazy. I waited more than 10 minutes to check in.

the hllways were smelly like water damage, musty smell. the room was a little beter but still had an odor. will not return

They only had one person working the front desk on weekend night. She was checking people in, answering room calls...... anyways it took her awhile to even help me. They didn't have my reservations. The elevator closes to our room was broke, and the WIFI didn't work. But the room was clean and the price was reasonable.

Great for the price. Kids enjoyed the pool. Went to the restaurant next door. Great.

Perfect location just next to wet'n wild water park

The price was great. The location in proximity to Universal Studios could not be better. It was more of a "party" hotel than our young family was used to. Front desk staff was awesome, parking was fine. Just wish the hallways would have been a little quieter and not so easy to hear people next door.

For the price we paid what a cracking hotel on I drive. Central to most attractions. Staff very helpful. One small point,the tap fell of in my hand on the first turn, but hey, it was fixed by staff in 10minutes.

We took this hotel for the "free shuttle" to Universal, what we didn't know was that it ran once a day at 11 am to the park ONLY. Not what we wanted.... so we paid for parking. Former Best Western, dated decor, but ok. If your looking for a place to lay your head this is ok. Lots of places to eat at reasonable prices. Room was in bad need of repair. Towel rack behind toilet was hanging with only two screws. Faucet was broke and hard to get water. Bathroom very dark and no bar to hang on to get in tub. Bed was horrible. Very hard and lumpy. Not happy at all.

Reservation was lost. Then found. Hotel smelled and people partying in hallways at all times of night, resulting in NO sleep. I would Not ever stay here again. Yhis is NOT a 3.6 star hotel!!

Very conveniente and close to tourist attractions and restaurants. Inexpensive. Should have a microwave and refrigerator available in the room.

The Hotel is very clean and good for the price, excellent location !! Many restaurant and close to the parks, Very friendly employees especially the maintanence guy.

I booked 2 rooms under the same reservation number and I got 2 rooms at 2 different floor levels. The reason was because the rooms were booked with 2 different names. When we booked we had to put a name for each room (My wife and I have a different last name). The reception was not very nice when we asked to be at the same floor. For them, it was our […] mistake. Rooms OK (boiler, coffee and tea, safe, TV). The second day we had to go to the reception to get coffee, they forgot to refill. Otherwise the hotel has a great location very close from most of the amusement parks, and a good choice of restaurants all around. I forgot to said, there are a swimming pool and a small but good fitness room. Do we really need more for the price? Mehr

I'm not a reviewing type and normally have a very mellow and forgiving attitude toward traveling "glitches", but our experience at this hotel was really quite terrible. We reserved it due to its proximity to Universal, which was excellent. However, we got a bit lost and when we called the desk for directions, the staff who answered sounded irritated, […] distracted, and completely disinterested in helping us find the hotel. When we arrived 10 minutes later (about 11:30pm), no one was at the desk and there was no bell, so we hollered "hello??" *many* times. There was a radio blaring hair metal really loudly, but no employees. Eventually a young male employee emerged and mumbled his way through the most unprofessional check in process I have ever experienced. Again, my expectations aren't all that high--I'm young myself and not a very formal person--but this was really bad. I was especially bothered that it took so long for him to come to the desk when he knew we were arriving because we had just called for directions. When we got to the room, we were stunned--STUNNED--by the overwhelming smell of mold/mildew in the room. It was completely overpowering. The room was dank and depressing, with very very old mattresses and linens. It was fairly clean in the general sense, but the smell and condition of the beds had us feeling so gross that we would have left for another hotel if we had not just driven three hours (and had to be up again in 5.) The de-humidifier in the room was not actually de-humidifying while we were in there, though I'm not sure it would have helped. Overall, the ONLY redeeming thing about this place is the location and there are other very nice places right nearby for the same price. We moved to the Rosen Inn the next night and had a great stay. I would never, ever stay here again. Mehr

This may be a 1.5 star hotel ar best. The beds were hard as a rock, the halls & room smelled terrible! Several hotels down the road has cheaper rates and cound not have been any worse.

This Hotel was a very nice experience. A lot better than I expected, since I chose a less expensive Hotel than usual. The service was very good, the Hotel was clean and very nice furnished. Absolutely reccomended.

We were concerned about all the negative reviews about staying. Yes, it is a bit dated, but overall it was exactly what it should have been. Affordable, comfortable, and in a great location. We would choose it again if we go back

This is the 2nd time I stayed in this Hotel and both times I had no hot water barely warm as well. When I told the front desk I was told to let the shower run for awhile. Well 20 minutes later it was still barely warm.

Stayed for 8 nights, location was perfect for wet and wild and walkable to Universal Studios. Without a car, international drive in general was not too great for disney, and hotel shuttle times were not that ideal (either too early @ 7.25am or too late @ 11am). Would have preferred to pay for shuttle at decent time rather than have a free shuttle at […] these times. Also rooms could use with a fridge and microwave would be a plus. There was no hot water one morning and staff could not even be bothered to apologise just said it took some time for the system to be reset. Other than these issues, hotel was generally good, needs a bit of updating but I would stay again. Mehr

This place is right next to everything and the price was good........however the walls are paper thin, the hot water doesnt work, the beds are about as comfortable as sleeping on a pile of thumbtacks, and the staff was rude. I'm not much of a complainer, i go with the flow and dont need much to be happy. My gf would probably argue that i am too simple, […] she would prefer the luxury hotels. So i dont complain much nor do i need much to be impressed.....however, when i couldnt sleep because all I heard was the outside door banging shut (the door hinge was broke, so this thing slammed shut all night long as people came in from the bars at 4 am and our room happened to be right next to the outside exit). Then i woke up in the morning and the hot water didnt work...........a night of no sleep and a cold shower are enough to make me a complainer. Beware, you get what you pay for Mehr

The employees at this hotel were nice and helpful and the overall condition of the hotel/room was defiantly up to standard. But it is a lower quality hotel. I already knew that by the price per night. I had a nice stay and it was a very well placed location. Over all I would give the hotel 3 out of 5 stars which was fine for me as I only needed a place […] to stay for 1 night and wasn't in my room much. Mehr

When we first arrived we were helped by Mai and Jay they were both very helpful and courteous when we got to the room was were the problem started the beds were dirty full of chips or crumbs and a napkin from previous renter and yes this was under the comforter where you lay down at...disgusting...toilet was full of pee stains as though they had not […] been wiped down correctly and bathroom full of hairs everywhere...seriously gross...rooms smelled like mold or flooded water...we had connecting rooms which were very convinent...we called and they sent Ruberto to change sheets he was also very courteous...the hotel is a little fated but nicely kepted up for the price you pay, nice old time pictures of actors and actress from the past...really nice...if you could take the friendliness, great service and pleasurable enviroment that we got from Mai, Jay, Ruberto and put it into a clean hotel it would be the perfect package....its just very sad we were not even contacted by hotel manager or supervisor to address the issue as far as am concern just for that reason and of course for the dirtiness I would not ever go back or reccomend this place...In my honest opinion Mai, Jay and Ruberto you are working at the wrong place with a supervisor or manager that definately doesn't care about his guest...let alone his employees....that says alot.... Becuase the amount i spent in the hotel i consider this to be a high value for the cost per nigth. Locatiojn is excellent. YOu can Wal to Universal and other local activities. You can walk to Wet N'wild across the street. Room was OK. A/C and dehumidificator works great. Had a problem with the smoke detector that kept beeping all my stay. I reported […] but no action was taken. However i was so tired each nigth that it didn't affect my sleep. Breakfast buffeft in restaureant (black Angus) was nice. But as i said it, for the price and the time i spent in the room, it was a great alternative. Mehr

This is the 3rd stay in this hotel, the first one, bathroom was dirty and towels too, they told me that next morning they will clean it (I had to clean it myself), they never did. the second time was ok, but the room was smelly. the last time, room was clean but with a strong smell. Hotel is OK if you are going to Universal because it's 10 blocks away […] or perfect if going to Wet n Wild, because is across the street. But I'll stay outside the hotel as much as possible. Internet is free, but Wi-fi signal might be weak, depending the room. No breakfast, but IHOP is 1 block away Mehr

For the price paid (Super deal) the hotel met expectations and more... to sleep only... Give it A+!

I was up in Orlando working and one of the main reasons for this hotel was free internet connection in the rooms. My room had no internet so they moved me to another room which had very limited internet my job requires that I send emails to the main office with pictures. I did not get to do this unless i went down stairs in the lobby. On top of all […] of this in order to get hot water in my room I had to turn the water on 20 minutes prior to taking a shower. The hotel was clean. The whole place had an old smell to it and the a/c didn't work real well. The pillows weren't comfortable, not even standard size. The service was prompt and friendly. The rooms were basic but so was the price so it's what I expected. There was plenty of hot water. No noises were heard through the walls. It was ok.

i enjoyed my stay at the monumental,infacted i stayed there three times already ,i told sum friends about it and they stayed also.cant beat the price for cleaness,and location ,,,,,,loved it

Would not recomend hotel, it was dirty and the smell was bad.

The hotel felt safe-the areas were all closed off to key access and the location was AWESOME but the hotel was a little sketch. No hot water, the room smelled a little, and the building and decor were out of date. It was worth it just for the overnight trip because of how cheap the rates were but not too comfy. Probably wouldn't go again.
