Obwohl wir das Hotel darüber informiert haben, dass wir erst spät anreisen, hatte man kein Zimmer mehr für uns - trotz frühzeitiger Buchung und Vorauszahlung. Wir wurden dann in ein Hotel gegenüber abgeschoben und bekamen dort ein Zimmer direkt hinter der Bar, angeblich war kein anderes frei. Der Lärm hörte gegen 03:30 Uhr früh auf, sodass wir noch […] ein paar Stunden die Augen zumachen konnten. Von der Kreditkarte wurden (trotz Vorausbezahlung) nochmals ca. 80 EUR im Nachhinein abgebucht - alles in Allem eine miese Abzocke! Für uns steht fest: definitiv nicht mehr!! Mehr

Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit Meerblick gebucht. Ich bekam allerdings ein Zimmer mit Blick auf 2 Dächer. An der Rezeption wurde mir erklärt dass dies ein Meerblick Zimmer wäre, da man einen kleinen Ausschnitt des Meers sehen könnte (meiner Meinung nach ca. 10% des Ausblickes aus dem Fenster). Angeblich erhalten sie diese Beschwerde öfters, bieten das Zimmer […] aber trotzdem als Meerblick Zimmer an. Das Zimmer war sonst in Ordnung. Der Pool war während 2 Tagen meines 3-tägigen Aufenthalts geschlossen aufgrund von Reinigungsmaßnahmen. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts wurde der Poolbereich mit extrem scharf riechenden Chemikalien (ähnlich Farbverdünner) gereinigt. Anscheinend aufgrund der exzessiven Parties die dort wohl am Wochenende stattfinden. Ich würde in diesem Hotel nicht nochmals übernachten. Mehr

The hotel rooms need to be renovated. The lobby and pool area is nice but the rooms are less than sufficient for the price. There is not even an overhead light or lamp in the room with significant light. There were at least a lot of tv channels...they actually had Starz.

When we first got there we got there little bit early and was hoping to get a room,checking wasn't until 4 o'clock pm, Coming from LA I thought that was rather late to get a check in time , so We waited and waited until i noticed that people were getting their rooms before we did , It wasn't until about 3 hours when the desk hand finally gave us a double, […] he did end up taking our resort fees off, about $75 hardly worth it, The room was fairly small for a double but pretty clean, I was quite displeased that of the 4 days I was there I never got a hot shower, the water just stayed warm. Also, if you don't roll up with a sweet ride, the valet will be parking your car about 4 blocks away, so add 20 -30 minutes anytime you want your car. The female front desk "manager" gave me an already occupied room. Needless to say the people in there were not impressed and rightfully freaked out. She then gave me another room that wasn't made up, swearing it was. The guys working the desk finally sorted it out, THEY should be managers, not the dimwit that was there. You get what you pay for. This might have been the worst bathroom I've ever had in a room. Good: Pool area, beach access, location --- all fantastic. Bad: Rooms were not clean, terribly outdated, and in some cases falling apart with bad beds, and furniture and rusting fixtures. Front desk staff was great. My white bedspread had a big urine stain on it and the light switch in the closet had been removed so the light stayed on until the bulb was turned off by the engineer. The pool bar staff never smile. Great location. I almost forgot to mention the amazing concierge and bell staff. Great atmosphere.

The Shelboune is great for the location. Additionally, the hotel's amenities are nice. The pool and jacuzzi are clean, the lobby is modern and clean. My boyfriend and I stayed during the new years eve holiday for 3 nights. Our first room was not renovated. Before checking into the room, many of the staff said it was their nicer (non-renovated) rooms. […] All the pictures on their site are renovated rooms. When we walked into our room it was terrible. It resembled a hostel. Old furniture beat-up door frames. We noticed the bed was a single (they said it was a queen--no way, but we paid for a king/queen) floors were old. I got in the shower and the tub would not drain. We went downstairs and asked for another room. In our second room, the furniture was more updated. Still not overly pleasing but it was basic and more acceptable than first room. On our last night I woke up to a running water noise. I go into the bathroom the floor above us was leaking buckets of water into our bathroom. Overall, the shelbourne is a nice place if you hae a renovated room. We payed a mandatory $25 per person for breakfast and we were never told about it until 4 days later. The service is great, very sweet . The place is dirty and needs to b rehabd . They pumped all the money in the entrance, curb appeal , lobby , pool and landscaping . The rooms are substandard.
