It's an old hotel so don't expect anything fancy but we spent most of the day at the beach and all we used it for was sleeping anyway. The room was clean... and the staff was very friendly. It's in a good neighborhood with lots of local seafood restaurants within a mile or two and beach access is a block away and not crowded. Only two minor problems. 1) It took almost 30 minutes to check in. Took me 2 minutes but the person in front of me was having issues with their check-in and I just went and sat in the car until they left. 2) There's not a lot of parking. Plenty during the day time but we went out to dinner and came back around 10pm and had to fight for a parking spot. There were two trucks with boats taking up a lot of space so maybe a specific lot for boat trailers would be beneficial. Overall, a decent stay though. von MA aus Richmond, VA am 30.04.2013

Preis/Leistung stimmten in jedem Fall.Zuvorkommender Service an der Rezeption.Internet wurde auch auf dem Zimmer freigeschaltet obwohl es 9,95/Nacht kosten sollte.Hilfsbereit bei der Mietwagensuche.Frühstücksbuffet war ok.Parken kostet 12,00€ beim nahen Parkhaus ansonsten 22,00€ vor dem Hotel.Gerne wieder

location is just great, one block from the beach. Room was nice and clean, no complaints. Breakfast typically American: cereals, bagels, toast, juice, coffee. Good enough for me. One of the front desk women was really nice and helpful, the other one didnt greet us or wasnt really willing to help us with information regarding dining out. Nevermind, had a great stay.

Das Turtle Cay bietet eher Ferienwohnungen. Man würde es in Deutschland nicht als Hotel bezeichnen, da es kein Restaurant oder eine Bar gibt. Es ist aber weit und breit in Virginia Beach wohl das gemütlichste aller Unterkünfte. Die anderen Hotels sehen aus wie aus dem Boden gestampft und reihen aneinander. Das Turtl Cay hat eine tolle Pool area und die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet. Man kann es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Das Zimmer war stark renovierungsbedürftig. Risse laienhaft zugespachtelt, Ein über der Tür angebrachtes Rollo hatte schon vor einigen Jahren seine beste Zeit hinter sich. Das Zimmer war ungemütlich auch wenn das Personal sich bemühte den etwas heruntergekommenen Zustand sauber zu halten. Der einzige Vorteil ist die Erreichbarkeit des Strands. Er ist […] etwa 100 - 150 Meter entfernt. Das angebotene, kostenlose, kontinentale Frühstück entpuppte sich als quasi nicht vorhanden. Was aber auf Grund der Größe des Frühstücksraums (ca. 6 m²) nicht verwundert. Das Hotel dient scheinbar nicht für die Unterbringung von Touristen. Mehr

While the Travelodge is older, the staff was very helpful and friendly. It was walking distance to the beach and several great restaurants, including the popular Plaza Azteca. Definitely worth the price.

My husband arrived before me to check in so I was a little leary. I know you can't always believe everyone's comments but we had previously stayed else where while doing some work nearby.This just did not have the same appearance. However, the first thing he said to me as I arrived to our work location was: "I'm amazed at how clean the room is and how […] nice the clerk was at the desk." He said when you think about it, this cost us about 1/2 as much as our other stay and it's perfect when you're working because all you want is a comfortable & clean room at the end of the business day to relax and do it all again tomorrow! We were charge an additional amount when we check in that night. We were told because of the accommodation that goes into preparing a room for handicap, its hotel policy. Wheelchair maneuverability was difficulty accept in bathroom. The mircowave would not operate properly with out shifting appliance. There was crumbs were found underneath bed.

Picture on the web was a bit misleading but only 2 real gripes...Paid extra for a very small pet for 2 nights which was fine however, why would you put me on the second floor??? Common sense people! I would suggest also if you are going to have the pool open a week or 2 after season for guests, please clean it!

this hotel was the best room was clean and never had any problems with any of the staff thay were all friendly and helpfull and the cafe/bar next door was nice had great food and the fact that you gould walk to the beach and then come back and get in the pool we will be back!!!!!!!!!!

hotel location is good but cleanliness is not taht good coz they shud vacuum the floor once they do the daily room housekeeping. they shud also put a bath soap and shampoo on daily. i think they shud put also a coffee maker in the room. need also find a bigger room for breakfast so we do not have to bring it to our room.

My fiance and I stayed here and it was very fair for the price. Overall, it was clean and safe and exactly what we needed. I would definitely reccommend it. I thought it was closer to the main strip of VA beach but it's a short drive away. There is a beach within walking distance but it was more like the bay, not the beach.

Office staff was friendly. Room was dirty & had leaks in the ceiling. I was afraid to walk on the floor w/o shoes. Did not sleep under sheets. Great location though. Close to all the main attractions.

came to the area to see the tall ships.. was able to catch the tide and get to the harbor pretty easy. enjoyed the bay waters and duncan doughtnuts coffee... would book again because of convienience. enjoyed dinner in va beach area and the light houses at fort story... alll very close and easy to find...

I was pleasantly surprised of the location of the motel. So close to resturaunts, gas stations, beach, etc. The booking process was easy and the front desk clerk was pleasant. Upon walking into the room, you could tell it wasn't cleaned well. The carpet was still dirty, a lamp shade was tilted askew. It didn't have a bad odor to the room, but the cleanliness […] could have been done better. Another issue was the wi-fi service. It was very weak at best and made it difficult to do business. I booked the stay with this motel because on the web site it said they accepted pets but when I checked in, there was a sign on the counter that said "No pets allowed". I didn't say anything to the clerk but was upset that the information was not correct. All in all, it was a nice stay and I would probably stay there again in the future. Mehr

We stayed 2 nights, all Ok but they failed to service the room after the first day's stay. They forgot? and no discount for the inconvenience and lack of clean towels.Convenient location for all activities.

The first time I checked in the room the door was cracked open, floor was dirty and one of the beds had wood chips all over it. After the staff changed my room to another. the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. When hairdryer wasn't working someone was there within 5 minutes to fix it. Room was clean but someone forgot to clean in between 2-day stay. Said that is not the norm when I complained. Close to beach and many restaurants and attractions but there is also a bar next to it that plays its music pretty loudly. the staff was very friendly and helpful. to go shopping we had to drive a little ways but not far. we were close to the beach. it was quite. the vending machines were lacking they only had 1 drink machine and it only had diet drinks the other drinks were out the whole time we were there. no snack machines.

Sonif you have a dog and need a place to keep them while you don't really spend time in your room then this is the place. We stayed one night and it was fine. It is not near atlantic ave which is the main strip but it is very close to the beach and a bunch of bars. It was easy in and easy out.

Was acceptable for one night and the price. They advertise a breakfast- that was laughable. They have prepackaged mini muffins and orange juice flavored water- not orange juice. I did not even attempt the coffee.

Hotel is very close to the beach!It is accross the street from lots of bars as well. It was just a place for us to sleep for the 3 nights we stayed. We chose this hotel because we wanted to bring our Yorkie with us. Beware--the price you get through hotels.com does not include the pet fee they charge you when you get there.
