Econo Lodge Busch Gardens - Tampa

Worst hotel stay of my life. There was all sorts of dirt and mold in the room, and blood on the walls (at least we think it was blood), as well as other strange stains. It's in the ghetto and our lock didn't work properly, we were really afraid our stuff would get stolen. Also the lap was broken and we had asked for it to be fixed several times and […] we were ignored. My friends and I actually got sick from being in the room, my two friends are still sick. We cut our stay two nights short and went somewhere else. Never again will I contemplate staying here. I wouldn't even suggest it to my enemies. Mehr

The staff was nice. The hotel needs major renovations. Everything is old and the parking lot is dark. The only light was near the hotel office. It was so dark that I passed by the first time. Very different from the picture on the website.

I checked in at about 11:00pm. You can't go into the lobby at night, so I had to shout through the "night check-in" window. The room key I got didn't work, so I returned and got assigned another room. Clerk was very nice and apologetic. Only after I got unpacked, did I notice several little ants all over the sink area. Only saw one ant in the separate […] bathroom. By this time, my child had fallen asleep, so I didn't request to be moved again. The room was clean aside from the ants. That night, there was very loud banging outside for about 15 minutes, but the AC drowned most of it out. (I was right about the night check-in window and the soda machine. The clerk must have been on break or something). The next morning, I noticed more ants on the table in the main room. I notified the clerk about the ants in the morning when I checked out. He replied "OK". Neighborhood was seedy, but VERY close to Busch Gardens. Mehr

This was a very scary place in a bad section of town. Thank God there were three security locks on the door...they were needed. The two cop cars stationed in front of the building provided a short term comfort, but has to wonder if they were there for a legitimate long term reason. When we booked this hotel, it came up during a search for hotels close […] to the airport (for our last night's stay). It was not. A one night 6 hr. stay was too much at this particular hotel. room was clean, lots of yelling, sirens, and helicopters flying

Arrived at 8pm where I couldnt come inside to check in. Check in was very fast, NO lights outside, in a very questionable area. Inside the rooms were nice, but floors made my feet BLACK walking across them. And, had shoes off all of 15 minutes. GROSS and SCARY!

Everything was GREAT the only problem was is not in a very good area but on top of that HAVE NOT LIGHTS AT ALL OUTSIDE ROOMS OF THE HOTEL ROOMS!! you feel you are gonna be killed in that parking lot very scary at night, to sad bcause the rest was great! and very very good breakfast.

Have you ever seen deodorant being sold in a vending machine? I still chuckle at my children's reaction. Never in our lives have we seen this before. Then we checked in after 7pm and did this through a window. The place was sooooo dark. My children wanted to go ...but we were only going to be there for one night so we stayed. My 8 year old wanted to […] get the lysol out of our vehicle just in case... LOL. We had to get our own towels! No coffee maker, hair dryer, iron...can you tell we are used to a little more than what this place had to offer? PROS..The clerk was really nice. The Continental breakfast did what we needed it to do. The coffee was really good...I had to mention it to the morning clerk. The hotel is pretty convenient to decent restaurants and Bush Garden. Hotel is close to Busch Gardens. Kinda run down hotel, the room was clean and pleasant smelling. Bed was aweful. Noise level was very high as you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside and above your room. The breakfast consisted of tiny muffins and weak coffee. We ended up going to Mc Donalds.

The hotel was close to Busch Gardens, Tampa which was the primary reason for choosing the hotel and as we were literally only using the rooms for sleeping, the hotel was ideally cheap and convenient. The hotel was clean and free of pests such as "bed bugs". We will stay there again when visiting Busch Gardens.

First, there was nobody in the lobby when we arrived at 9:00 pm. Then there were men and women standing around waiting for something. They were loud and kind of obnoxious late into the night, every night. The carpets were sticky and there were ants all over the place. The TV worked! It was the only thing that did. Light bulbs were missing. The shower […] ran cold. The beds were possessed! I tried to get into the bed with my husband and rolled onto the floor. Repeated attempts provided the same result. There was NO coffee pot, NO refrigerator, NO microwave and NO place to get comfortable in the room. In what was once a thriving tourist area this hotel sits in the middle of death valley. Behind it is a three story corpse, beside it what was once a beautiful train sleeper car that was changed into a unique hotel experience that died an unnatural death. Left in their places are the fears of people in an area that is prone to crime. Mehr

First hotel was not in the greatest neighborhood of Tampa but in its defense i was looking for the cheapest place and using it for sleep only. For what i wanted, it was perfect. The people at the front desk were great and friendly and the room was clean and everything worked. Wireless internet was one of the fastest i used in the many hotels i stayed […] at on my trip and the continental breakfast was good. ALL in all i would stay here again if i pass through Tampa again. Only if you are a single male and if you are staying for a night or 2 at the max.

The women that work the desk were extremely friendly; I would stay here again, because of them! Not a great hotel by any means.. A little run down, clean but not immaculate, continental breakfast was a bunch of Little Debbie muffins and cakes, plus coffee. Not the best, but free nonetheless.. (: It's close to the highway (275), Busch Gardens and plenty […] of places to eat and shop. The pool was clean and refreshing. Sooo, I'd stay again! P.S. There is a shady, run-down hotel directly behind it, pretty sure it's not a place you should roam to when you stay here. Mehr

carpets need cleaning badly, toilet took for ever to fill, shower water was warm. Like I said you get what you pay for. At least we had a great internet signal!

The staff were friendly and the room was fairly decent. It worths about 33$ per night but if you are going to pay more I recommend some other hotels. Also the area is a bit getto and scary at times but i had no safety problems at all. Overall a positive experience.

hotel was fine to lay your body after the parks. but the hood is another story as i am pulling in my lights shine on a nite walker but after speaking to the nite cleark felt better, light dim in parking but felt safe maybe nite watchman or pimp taking care of place.but like i said felt safe

The staff was very friendly and accommadating. The lady at the front desk took her time to check us in and when we asked for local eateries she supllied us with several menus and suggestions. The room was clean and the price was fair.

I only expected an average room. The hotel was located on a major road. There was an unused/abandoned night club next door that the hotel owner bought, uses it for furniture storage/warehouse. Pool was clean. They even opened it up early for us. Staff was very accomodating. Continental breakfast was good too. Beds were clean, actually new linen used […] on beds. TV was old, but wasnt there to watch TV. We used the hotel location for access to Busch Gardens. I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others going to the local attractions. It is close to the Museum of Science and Industry as well. I highly recommend seeing that as well. Mehr

Don't get your hopes up too high, you get what you pay for. Busch Gardens is just down the street, so are many other restaurants and gas stations so choices are endless. The room was clean, however the pillows were uncomfortable and make sure to bring your own towels and washcloths. Customer service was good however.

Room was clean, bathroom was in need of some repair, but for the price what do you expect. Friendly service from people at the front desk!

The hotel looks kind of old on the outside and is next to a abondoned building the area just looks really run down. The room was freshly painted and very clean. The pool area has no lights so to enjoy the pool at night just didnt happen it did not feel safe.

The hotel was conveniently located near Busch Gardens. The room itself was a good room. The Hotel owns the building next door, which it uses for storage. The storage building is not lighted, and the hotel's sign is in front of the storage building. When we arrived at the hotel (after dark), we saw the sign and the unlit storage building, and we thought […] our hotel was out of business, and then we saw the lit lobby across the parking lot. That experience (and bumping into some of the hotel's other patrons) gave us a feeling of uneasiness during our stay. Staff was not very friendly, Rude, as if I was bothering her, there were ants in the room, the bathroom tub faucet was broken before we even got in the room, I'm sure they should have noticed that when they cleaned the bathroom, the air condition unit knob was missing, had to use my finger nail clipper sideways to adjust the air... bed was not comfortable, […] when I got in the bed you couldn't help but roll toward the middle of the bed, lol..and the hallways were dark..very little lighting Mehr

After reading the prior reviews, I was expecting to find this hotel in a seedy, high crime neighborhood, but that was not the case. It was a typical older hotel on a commercial strip of road that has been servicing an area for awhile. My family and I did not feel threatened or unsafe. Our "front desk clerk" went way out of her way to ensure that the […] 3 rooms we booked for ourselves and out children were ok. They were in the process of changing their key system, so she came upstairs to verify the keys worked in all room doors. The rooms were clean - and were a mix of recently refurbished and old. The beds were comfortable. Our air worked, but did not cool the room down to a level of comfort were awere accustomed to. In all fairness, we were tired and did not give them a chance to rectify the atter. Our other rooms were fine. Our water in the tub would not shut off all of the way, so it dripped all night, but we did not hear it in the room. The pool was nicely remodeled, but the pool deck needed attention (weeds, high grass). We needed a place to sleep after a long day at Busch Gardens. This hotel met our needs. Mehr

we(me and family) visit theme parks on a monthly basis usually always to orlando, we always use hotles.com to get the best deals and we know which hotels are good and bad. this particular time we chose busch gardens in tamps, so we logged onto hotels.com and selected one in tampa close to the park, the room rate was good and we booked the weekend. as […] we are just there for the parks we are just looking for a cheap place to sleep but we dont want a yukky hotel, we pulled into this one and the check in was through a window, not at the front desk like expected, so i'm thing great whats the problem here that this hotel has you ckecking in at a window like in a high crime gas station area, never the less we checked in and went to the room, the room was clean and well kept so were thinking ok we can deal with this then we found out the ac wasn't working great its june in florida and no ac, we called down to the front desk to see if we could switch rooms, and i'm thinking maybe this hotels was a mistake, then the lady at the front desk stepped up to the plate even though her shift had ended she stayed to take care of us, she switched our room and made our stay great, the second room was as clean as the first and the ac worked, the rest of the weekend we had two other time one for extra towels and another for extra sugar for coffee, each time they were great to deal with and took care of us right away, we would definately stay here again, and all that it took was just one person who cared about the guests that were staying there. thanks once again to the econlodge in tampa on busch blvd. Had a prblem wtih shower --no colde water in shower --was told because of heat outside water was hot but in sink 3 feet away water was cold I guess it's easy to put off repairs that way

O QUARTO ERA BOM, GRANDE. SÓ A LIMPEZA QUE DEIXOU UM POUCO A DESEJAR, EXISTIA NO BANHEIRO UMA CALCINHA SUJA, DA OUTRA HOSPEDE QUE LA ESTEVE. O CAFE DA MANHÃ TAMBEM ERA RAZOAVEL.

la falta de mantenimiento del hotel en gral,no habia limpieza,sucio,puertas callendose,falto de higiene,tv mejores se botan que el de la habitacion,hagan uno nuevo.
