I loved this hotel, the staff was great when I had booking issues with hotels.com... it was modern and up to date, but note that the hair dryer is at the front desk... not in the room.

I rated this Red Roof Inn a 5 based on other Red Roof Inns we have stayed in and other hotels in that price range. We were quite surprised with the room when we entered actually, it was much nicer than we had expected for the price. It was very clean, very comfortable, the hotel clerk was very friendly and accommodating. Not too sure about the surrounding […] area as we were passing through after a long day of driving, there were a few restaurants right by the hotel, but pass on the iHop the food was not good and expensive. "NICE ROOM, NICE STAFF"
Had to spend the night in Charleston, daughter was in CAMC Womens and Childrens. The hotel staff were very nice and everything went quick and without incident at check in. Alot of worker type people staying at hotel and near by bar & grill made for some partying type's, but the room was clean, quite and i have no complaints. Definite a great room for […] the price. The room was clean but there was no hair dryer, no microwave, no Kleenex in room. Too spartan for me. Microwave in office was old and wouldn't cook popcorn without burning. Cheap, clean and that is all!

The hotel was nice and convienently placed right off of the interstate and close to several fast food resturaunts. The carpet could have used steam cleaning, but it seemed to have been swept every day. I stayed for three nights in a row, and the housekeepers cleaned my room every night. Clean, quiet, well-kept. Close to freeways, making local attractions easy to access. A little difficult to get to as it is accessible by a fast food restaurant parking lot but is not clearly marked.

The area this hotel is in is a bit seedy and lower than I expected for the price we paid. It was recently renovated but the beds were uncomfortable. At least the place didn't smell bad. Avoid this hotal at all costs. The rooms are terrible for the price. There is no such thing here as a "non-smoking room." It was a bitter experience.

Very frustrating experience. I was in town for a wedding. They do not have blowdryers. Don't all hotels have blowdryers on the wall? Not this one. Front desk staff was very rude when I inquired. Would not stay at Red Roof Inn because of it and I travel for work every week and have never ever been to a hotel without a blowdryer in the room or by calling […] the front desk and requesting one. "Ehhhh, ok for the price"
Room was not all that, ok place to stay just for a night. The toilet in the room didnt flush and the Air Conditioner was not worth even having in the room as it didnt cool!

Not a luxury place, but certainly acceptable for the money. Site does not indicate there is wi-fi in the rooms, but it is available at no extra charge. Only one ice machine down close to the office. Security bolt on the door was ripped off, so I was a little nervous about that. Not the greatest area in the world, but I've been in worse. the red roof in is right off the interstate but is very quiet. it is convienant to everything in kanawha. wendys and taco bell within yards of the red roof in and also a bob evans about a block away. gas station just across the road and multiple other restaurants and grocery stores as well as other shops and a mall within a 2 mile trip of the red roof. […] the staff is kind, courtious, and professional. the room was clean, nicely decorated, and smelled very pleasant everytime it was entered. the shower was nice and large with a deep tub and good water pressure as well as pleanty of hot water. the beds were very comfortable and the tv had nice picture. the parking lot was clean and quiet. even when the parking lot was full nothing happened to my rental car-not one scratch. not one car alarm went off my whole stay. Greeted by friendly staff. Room was non-smoking BUT obviously someone had smoked in there before or it was seeping from below. For a person with a severe smoke allergy this is not good news!! My clothes smelled horrible and I couged and hacked and sneezed all the way home the next day. Realize it is a 2 star but, non-smoking should mean non-smoking. […] It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that smoke rises - perhaps put the non-smoking rooms on the bottom floor. Mehr

I f you're passing through town and need a convenient location - this is suitable. Room was clean, neighbourhood a bit sketchy. However, served it's purpose.

The parking situation was horrendous not enough spaces if my room is facing one way and my car the other didnt make much sense to me other than that everything was ok.

"Freshly painted rooms"
the rooms were freshly painted and somewhat modern. The bathroom was dirty.. had hair in the tub, and urine stains around the toilet bowl itself.. kinda gross! Not too bad for the price, dingy surrounding location.
"Nice hotel for the price"
I needed a place to stay halfway between Akron, Ohio and Charlotte, NC. I found this hotel and remembered that my husband and I had stopped at the Wendy's right in front of it on previous trips. So the location was familiar to me and it was convenient to the interstate. The room was clean and very nice. I would stay here again.

Had to request clean sheets for the bed, as they had not been changed. Carpet was not freshly vacuumed, and there were no clean towels etc in the bathroom. But it was a warm place, right off the interstate so conveniently located for travel.

I needed a place to stay in Charleston for the evening. This hotel is very conveniently located just off the interstate and near a number of restaurants. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and you can't beat the price. The hotel staff were extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Red Roof. I would stay there again and recommend this hotel to friends. The price was affordable and the service was great. The front desk attendant even delivered blankets without us asking. The hotel is close to I-77 which makes it easy to get on and off the highway. Everything was good about this experience. It was better […] than Park Inn which we stayed at the next night. That place cost more money, was not clean, and the sound on the TV kept getting low then loud. Very annoying. Mehr

"Good for one night stay on our trip"
The hotel was clean and convenient, as promised. We were only there for the one night on our way to somewhere else, but it seemed to be a safe location, mostly families and construction type work trucks there so it was quiet. What I most want out of a hotel for a night...so it met all our needs.
"Good price, but the whole area is run down"
This is a "just passin thru" sorta place. The entire neighborhood was run down. I would say that if you needed someplace reasonable, then this fits the bill. The area is run down, the town is run down. The area reeks rust belt decay. The parking lots are rougher than heck. The shining star in all this is the hotel is located within a very short walk […] of Bob Evans (terrible service), IHOP (good service) Wendys and a couple of Convienience stores. If I ever stay in Charleston WV again, this hotel would be on the eligible list. But if you can, avoid Charleston WV like the plague of man and stop either an hour or so earlier, or a couple of hours later Mehr

Room was clean except the toilet still had Urine in it from who knows when! But the room was VERY nice for the price and is pretty close to lots of food and other things
"Needs Improvement"
Was asked to pay extra for a room with a king size bed instead of two double sized ones and still when we got into the room it had two double beds. Being late at night I did not have the energy or the patience to go and change the room. Not satisfied with how the things went.

Overall the hotel is dated, but it was clean and the bed was awesome! The worst part was not enough parking for the guests. I had no choice but to park my Z4 on a no parking curb where trucks and trailers were squeeking past all night. Thankfully nothing happened!
