Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel - Weehawken

I don't know why people rate this hotel so highly. The ferry port is surely in front of the hotel, but we had to wait 20 minutes on the way to and from NY in a cold weather. I asked receptionist if there was a time table, but they just told us to wait at the port. We got frozen. Also, on the way back to the hotel, we had to wait for 20 minutes for the […] shuttle bus to the port. Also, we got frozen. The ferry costs 18 dollars round trip and hotel charges $25 for a parking plus $30 service charge and we ended up spending so much money. No, I don't want to stay here again especially in cold winter. Mehr

Everything about this Hotel was very nice....except, I did not know that they would charge $25 to park in their hotel parking lot. That may have made a difference when booking this. I don't think a hotel should charge their occupants to park while staying in their hotel.

the Sheraton-Weehawken is in a great location, with an awesome view of NYC. taking the ferry over to NYC is a great, although can be expensive, but it is very conveniently located. It was nice to park the car and not have to worry about using it again until our stay was over. Definitely would stay at the hotel again.

Comfortable hotel with great city skyline views and excellent location near ferry, bus, light train to Metro -- all means of transportation. Internet access was tricky but we managed. We were NOT charged for parking, which was a nice surprise. Did not eat in hotel restaurant so cannot comment on that. Housekeeping service was a bit slow -- had to wait […] half an hour past check in and even then the room assigned to us was not available so we had to change. Management made up for it, though, by offering us complimentary access to the executive lounge which, especially since we extended our stay to four days, was a very nice perk. Mehr

Chose this hotel due to it's proximity to the Javits Convention Center just across the river. It was perfect for that reason. Also paid a little extra for a room on the river side with a view of Manhattan. Apart from the room safe not working (desk did offer to move us to another room) everything was nice. Free internet at one of four house computers […] just off the lobby in a semi-provate area. You can also use your own laptop. Ferry to Javits was super fast (10 minute journey time). Mehr

We had an option for a Manhatten view room. But the view was not too good in 2nd floor. May be this was of very late arrival? Otherwise the hotel was nice. Good service.

We were disappointed that there were limited TV channels - particularly did not have Fox News and no choices for rental movies or on demand channels. Otherwise, the staff was VERY accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant!

My fiance and I live in the area however we like to check into the Sheraton once in a while as a quick weekend getaway. The staff was very friendly, the room was extremely clean and Im very picky so it def met my standards. The pool was very clean and warm! I would def stay there again and again. They are much better than the Westin in Jersey City where […] they nickle and dime you for anything you touch. Mehr

the round was very spacious and we had a great view of Manhattan When I checked out-I mentioned the fact that security is not that great-we ordered food to be delivered from an outside restaurant and the guy was able to come to our door w/o us being notified by the front desk

Killer place just a few hundred yards from NYC via the New York Waterway! So easy to get back and forth... Great service and very helpful with putting together travel arrangements for the city. A must if your looking to save a few bucks here and there...!

We stayed at this hotel on New Years Eve it was close to great restaurants and the movies evrything we needed to bring the new years in right. Above all the view of the NYC skyline and being on the water made it even better.

If you could not stay in Manhattan this is a good alternative. Whilst the hotel is Sheraton standard double check advise from reception - we got wrong and half info which costed us more in travel $ and time.

the room was not very clean and the remote did not work.. the people a the desk could not have been nicer...

This is the only place i will stay from now on , when i come to Nyc. The convienence of the Ferry and buses was simple and convinient. Only setback if youre are planning on coming home past 11 pm the ferry closes and cabs can run $40-50 to cross to Jersey . But if you can Make it wthin the Ferry Hours its the best hotel i have stayed at the past 5  […] years! Mehr

Our Hotel room was very spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The Ferry to NY was very convenient! We already have plans to visit again!

If you stay at this hotel during the weekend, and have an early appointment beofre 8 am, then you will be stuck. The Ferry and the buses do not start operating until after 8 am. So either you take the Light Transporation into Hoboken New Jersey and then transfer to the Path Transportation system, or you take a taxi or limo. And, the ferry from the hotel […] to Manhattan stops running around 7:30 pm on Sundays. Didn't know that one. Oh well, home is still sweeter. Mehr

This is an excellent hotel if you prefer a view of Manhatten rahter than being crowded in the city itself looking out on a blamk wall just a few metres away. Added benefit is a top quality hotel for the price of a dive in Manhattan itself. The convenience is better than you might anticipate because it is readily accessible from Manhattan. $3,40 by bus […] which runs every 20-30 minutes from PATH bus terminal (easy to find and use and it feels much safer than a cab). $18 by ferry - more expensive but about the same frequency (watch out the ferry runs weekends only during the holiday season). The ferry is well worth it by day or night for the view alone. $60 by cab - by far the most expensive and no quicker than either bus or ferry. It's also the one which feels least safe. Only negative comment is that (in common with most up market hotels in the US) is that internet is extra! If cheap hotels ($39 per day) can afford to include internet, it beats me why these hotels want $9.95 per day on top of their already hefty day rate. The internet was provided independently by AT&T and was not just expensive it was very slow - too slow to be able to make a voice call with skype. Take care too NOT to use the hotel phone unless you are DESPERATE. I was aware but another guy checking out at the same time as me got stung $28 for a 6 minute call to Manhattan (4km away). This is a common profit practice in US hotels - phones are charged at operator assisted long distance rates plus a fee. "Long distance" can be very close if (as in this case) Manhattan is interstate from New Jersey. Mehr

Panoramic views of Manhattan with a ferry shuttle service a few steps from the hotel. Connecting FREE buses at the ferry terminal take you to Downtown, Uptown and Times Square all day long. The hotel is a very convienent place to stay when visiting NYC. The ferry is noce, but driving in is cheaper, we found. toll for bridge, 12.00 parking all day in garage 26.00 sure beat the 75.00 for 2 adults and 2 children. Personally i am not a fam of starbucks coffee... but that was fine. could have supplied more cups. Bathroom only had 3 towels. […] we were 4. We will be back again next year. Mehr

We really enjoyed our stay here and found the bus and ferry services to NYC to be very convenient. It was much quicker and cheaper than we imagined. It was also much safer here than in the city or in Hoboken. The hotel staff was wonderful and all were very helpful.

our stay was great . The hotel was right next to the NYC ferry . The only thing was you have to pay to park your car. I have always had parking included in the hotel stay price .

We love this hotel for is staff and accomodations as well as its location.

From our arrival at the front desk where we were warmly greeted by the clerk, Clinique, to the housekeeping staff, to even the shuttle bus driver, we received excellent service from the hotel staff. Our only downgrade of service was due to the room service, which was extremely difficult to contact. We tried on four different occasions to call when we […] knew they were open and received no answer. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable (and bedbug free!) and the view from our room of the NYC skyline was incredible. The heating/cooling controls took a moment to figure out, but kept the room very cool. Despite the room being smoke free, it was clear someone had been smoking in it, especially in the bathroom, but it was not overpowering. The pool and gym areas were very nice and well kept. There were several computers with Internet access and even a printer available free to guests, which was very helpful. They were right inside the front door, which was slightly confusing; you have to go past the area to find the front desk. We chose the ferry package, which provided eight ferry tickets, enough for two to go across the river twice. The weekday ferry landing is literally right outside the door. The weekend landing is only moments away by shuttle, which ran frequently. We never had more than a few minutes wait at any time. In addition to the in house restaurant, which is Italian, there is a Ruths Chris Steak House across the street, a Houlihans next to that, and a food court in the office building just past it. Note: the food court serves the office building, and closes shortly after 5pm, apparently. There might be a PF Changs north of the weekend ferry landing, but we never went up to find out. We would have, if we had known earlier. Several restaurants also deliver to the hotel at more reasonable prices than the in house restaurant, as well. I had come to the area for a family function and was extremely happy with both the type of room and the location. Because I did not want to pay NYC prices I chose to stay in NJ close to the Lincoln Tunnel as it was easy to get into Manhattan. This is a clean hotel very convenient to NYC. NY Waterway comes up to hotel weekdays, but you have to take the hotel shuttle on weekends. This sometimes is a problem if there is a large group waiting for the shuttle. A minor inconvenicnce all things considered.

This hotel is easy and convenient to NYC- ferry ride is short and easily accessible. Surrounding area of the hotel is clean and decent restaurants are available. There are sidewalks along the river which make it very attractive to us. Down side- the shuttle back and forth from the hotel to ferry is rather small if there are a lot of people wanting […] to get on. It runs every 15 minutes but in the cold it is not soon enough or large enough.... Mehr

I stayed this hotel on 26th October 2011 for 4 nights...the hotel located in a Excellent place and very easy to access NY right infront of the hotel there is a ferry station you can catch a ferry to NY and connection bus to 42nth street you also have choice to to catch a bus infront of hotel(bus 158) which goes to port authority bus terminal and few […] minutes walk to time squire Hotel has very good skyline view of Manhattan... Stayed here for one night on business. It was perfect. Easy to get to (with GPS). The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant is outstanding.

The Sheraton Lincoln Harbor is comfortable and quiet, and very satisfying given the rate. I rarely heard another guest in nearby rooms and was never awakened by noise. The view of the Manhattan skyline is fantastic, and access to Manhattan is ideal, especially given some of the rates available at this hotel. A NJ Transit bus stops just outside the hotel […] and drops you at the 42nd Street / Port Authority bus terminal in about 15 minutes. Coming back is just as easy and cheap. You can easily save a couple hundred bucks a night compared with similar hotels in NYC. I think this hotel is a real find for budget-conscious travelers who want easy access to New York. Mehr

We stayed at the Sheraton for 5 days on business. In general, the hotel was great, but you're better off avoiding the restaurant for breakfast. Even when they weren't busy it still took 45 minutes to be served at breakfast. They were repeatedly out of even the basics like ham, and bagels. Really? How does a major hotel run out of Bagels in New Jersey? […] Anyway, we were very happy with the rooms and the hotel service, but over the course of 5 days we repeatedly received slow and poor breakfast service. Despite all the transportation options, we ended up having to take a taxi to the hotel from the Newark airport ($86.00) and from the hotel to the Newark airport ($60.00). We were surprised that the Sheraton at Weehawken did not offer a shuttle service. The Sheraton could offer a nominal fee like $20 or $30 per person and we would have gladly paid it. We […] had difficulty getting to the tourist attractions in and around the area. For example, I asked how to get to Liberty State Park as we had tickets to take the ferry to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. The clerk at the front desk at the hotel gave me directions to the Light Rail Station. We took Light Rail to Liberty State Park and we were still 1.5 miles from the Railroad Station where you check in for the ferry to Ellis Island. Another example: I asked the front desk clerk to sell me 2 tickets for the Lincoln Harbor ferry so we could go to 38th in Midtown NYC the next day (Sunday). I got the tickets and we waited about 30 minutes for a ferry that should have been running every 15 minutes. A tourist from Philadelphia came along and informed us that the ferry from Lincoln Harbor did not run on Sundays. There was no mention about a shuttle service that could have taken us to Port Imperial to catch the ferry to NYC. It was approximately 2 miles from Weehawken to Port Imperial. The hotel could help its guests if they provided a shuttle schedule when you check in. Mehr

If manahattan hotels are doing their spikey thing, the Sheraton is a good option. Super convenient and reasonably priced ferry to NYC, the only issue is it stops running fairly early for the late-niter. Very good breakfast at the very decently ambienced restaurant. There was a problem with our room and the hotel was able to make something work in a very pleasant manner.

This hotel itself was great! The rooms were really nice, better than I had expected. The bus stop is 1 minute walking distance to get to NY city. ( bus ride can go up to 30min with bad traffic rather than 10 without). Wish we could have checked in before 3 but those are the rules! I DO NOT suggest going to the hotel's restaurant-- we ate there and regret […] it. poor food selection and it was not tasty at all, my two friends agreed. But the hotel I highly recommend :) Mehr
