Generally, it was okey. It was worth the price. One little thing though (but really irritating) is that toilet paper holder. It doesn't turn. They're supposed to turn freely. I suggest you replace those things. Our TV was also bad. It was mostly green on one side. Other than that, we were okey.

I wasn't expecting much for the price (King suite), but I do expect clean! The room was dirty. The bathroom toilet paper holder - rusty, dirty, broken. The sink overflow was full of gunk. The table tops needed to be wiped down and I don't know what was all over the clockradio, but I wasn't going to touch it! The last night the music from somewhere went […] on all night. But, the bed was comfortable and the bedding appeared clean. However, the floor in the breakfast room was so sticky, I had to clean my shoes in a puddle outside. Won't be staying here again. Mehr

The room was really clean but the wind came thriugh the door and windows making it really cold (Feb). Lots of young people with really loud music until quiet hour. Too bad because it is in a great location, nice manager on site- helpful but not restful

We got what we paid for. We took our dog, and paid the additional surcharge, which was cheaper than a kennel. The room was clean, and everything worked. The TV was an older one - not a flatscreen, but the remote worked. Bathroom was clean, and the tub had been replaced by a tub surround. Plenty of hot water, and towels. The heater was a wall unit […] combination heater/air conditioner that worked well, but was a bit noisy. Our stay was in January, but we didn't need the heater much as the room wasn't overly cold. The outdoor pool looked well worn with some tiles missing - not sure what it would be like in the summer. Breakfast was provided in the price - but only available between 8 am and 10 am, so we missed it. Overall, this motel was a reasonable place to stay, if you didn't plan on hanging out there. Pros: Easy to get too location. Free parking and Internet. Continental Breakfast. Comfortable room. Ideal for the budget conscious vacation. Cons: Fair distance from the actual Falls/Clifton Hill.

Hotel is dated and needs to be updated. However, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Considering what I paid it was okay. Breakfast in the morning is very basic but good enough for my kids. Staff were exceptional and helpful when I needed directions for my destination. Hotel just outside of Lundy's Lane tourism district, so you will need to taxi […] to the attractions. Mehr

You get what you pay for I guess...

There are several budget hotels along Lundy's Lane in Niagara. This is definitely the best one. The others often have none working electronics and dirty whereas this Howard Johnson's is clean and everything works. Friendly staff, too.

This hotel was exactly what we expected for what we paid. It was very clean and the staff was more than accomodating. The pillows were a little flat but there was extras in the closet. Set on a busy street but we didn't find the room noisy at all.

The room was fine, as well as the welcome. There was a problem with a leak from upstairs that wetted the carpet in the corner but it didn't effect us. Also it was quite complicated to understand how to make the jakusi work (had to push hard on the button on the wall, and the buttons on the bathtub were useless. There should some explanation written […] somewhere). The air-conditioning/heating unit needs dusting... (room 120) It would be nice if there was hot chocolate available for breakfast for the kids. The hotel had old furniture and there was a funky smell, customer service was decent but wish i found something else.

I also absorb the clean environment of the room. I would be prefer next time or any-time if they give me this kind of deal in winter. thanks Salman

Well realistically you get what you pay for and in this case I paid a very low rate for 4 people to sleep comfortably and it didn'[t exactly happen that way. The front desk clerk was 100% professional and the surrounding area was a 5+.......BUT the room was awful. The beds were way to soft, there was water leaking into the room from the roof so the […] rug was completely soak and wet near the table. I had to place towels there to soak up the water. The remaining rug was very very dirty and the room smelled like a cellar. The TV sound would not get loud and the neighbors next door had a child that would not stop screaming at night and again in the morning. We never got to experience the breakfast because it went from 6:00am until 8:30am. That kind of time period should only be set for a conference connected hotel were guest must get up and out of their rooms very early for classes or some other typr of business venture; but, for guests who are on vacation they rarely get up before 8:00am. Breakfast should at least be extended until 10:00am for those who get up late and on vacation. I am sorry but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to the fact that it was not cleaned well enough. Mehr

We went for a romanitc getaway and stayed in a king-jacuzzi suite, the room was dated and neither of the exhaust fans worked which made showering feel like a claustrophobic steamroom. The jacuzzi was the best part. It was far from the "main" attractions but was quiet and relaxing. Bring your own pillows if you do book here. All in all an ok stay.

The room was very clean and very convient to where we needed to be. We got to the room and almost immediately there was a knock at the door from the maintaince staff. Our sink was not draining properly. They spent about 30 minutes fixing it. When we used the jacuzzi we found that the jets didn't work and the casing was leaking. The staff was friendly […] and the guy working on our sink was apologetic and tried to make the repairs quickly. It was a fun, cheesy Niagara Falls hotel room. I would probably stay there again if only to show our son the heart shaped jacuzzi. Mehr

A very affordable hotel located 5-10 minutes away from all tourist attractions. Services was highly appreciated, housekeeping has a direct supervision, concern and attention to every customer staying in the hotel. Front desk was easy to access 24/7, any minute you call and ask your need, always available, no question ask. The cleanliness of the surroundings, […] and the swimming pool was taking cared of. Staff and personnel are approachable and definitely will attend to you with a smile. We are convinced that there are other hotels that are bigger but the rate was incomparable with Howard Johnson Express. This hotel/motel is perfect if you are looking for an inexpensive stay in a clean room. No fancy amenities here. We used the room to sleep and shower. It was clean, the hotel staff was friendly, and it was in a convenient location. If you're looking for upscale, don't book this hotel. Short, easy drive to main attractions. Excellent customer service but it was not well kept. Ice machine not working, no fridge available for room though it was requested in the reservation and the pool was missing tiles.

Hotel is passed its' prime for sure. While rooms were clean, for the most part, i.e. bedding and bath, it was dingy, Forget the continental breakfast, low grade and stale muffins etc, not only that but they stop serving at 8:30 on a Sunday morning. Told them of a few things wrong that needed attention in the room, carpet wet near bathroom that seemed […] to be coming from adjoining room to find out it was reported prior but they hadn't done anything about it. Must say staff was friendly and the pool was good but how about some new pool furniture; grubby!! Mehr

This hotel needed upgrading 20 years ago. The air conditioner leaked all over our clothes. Obviously leaking for a long period because of the mildew odor. The carpet was soiled and ripped. The toilet wobbled and ran all night. The ceramic tile on floor was cracked and coming up. The elastic on the fitted sheets no longer exist due to over use. To call […] this a suite is bait and switch. It was 2 small double beds crammed into an even smaller room. If you want verification we were in room 122. Also when we got there they tried to charge extra for our dogs. The only reason we chose this hotel was because they were dog friendly. I am extremely dissatisfied with the hotel and the fact that this site even recommends it. Mehr

Old motel that could use a good paint job. The rooms should be aired out more often. The outside of the hotel had discuting smell. The beakfast was very short from 8am to 8:30. (short time) Other than that it was an ok place to stay at. We enjoyed the fact that we had a balcony to sit on outside and our kids sleeping inside. It was a full motel but […] quiet. OK place. If you are looking for a good nights sleep in a clean although dated room at reasonable prices, this is the place for you. Close to the best breakfast places (cheap in prices high in quality) in Niagara and only 15 minutes away from St. Catharines. For a pet friendly hotel, it did not smell at all. Nice pool for cooling off too.

The hotel room was very dirty....hair on bathroom floor, cracked sink, damaged toilet seat, door lock was broken....please heed...the price may be right..but be careful.

spacious and clean

Every was fine accept for the electrcity. Is was about 4 AM, There was no more power, and we couldn't sleep any more, because it was so hot. The power came back only at 7 Am.

Quiet setting away from all the activity

bad neigbours makes it difficult sometimes. some rooms are much older than other rooms.

We stayed for two nights and everything was clean. The atmosphere was very friendly. Enjoyed our days and would recommend this motel to anyone.

The hotel itself was ok. The manager/owner was very nice. The girl working at the desk was very helpful. There were a few issues we had though. First thing was on the first night there, there was a fight in the parking lot between two guests that were staying there-which the owner promply broke up. Also, we were offered a hot breakfast when we booked […] the room and there was only bread for toast and stale muffins. And the last issue was that the pool itself looked nice but one you got to it, there was hair and debree in the pool. It was rather gross. Also, we broght our dog with us. When we went out, we put him in a cage so they could clean our room. One day when we out and came back several hours later, our room was not cleaned. The reason given as to why is wasn't cleaned was because the dog growled at her. It is a cocker spaniel, in a cage, and NOT aggresive at all. So I'm not sure if she didn't want to clean the room or what the issue was. Mehr
