Ausgezeichnetes Hotel mit sehr gutem Service. Sehr gute Lage mitten in Edinburgh. Zimmer sind sehr gut. Das Hotel hat einen ganz besonderen Charme.

Sehr angenehm, äußerst freundliches, hilfreiches Personal, das einen Spitzenservice bot. Sauberkeit des Zimmers sehr gut. Die gesamte Ausstattung ist dem Standard dieser Hotelkategorie entsprechend. Zentrale Lage. Leider ist das Zentrum Edinburghs z. Zt. eine große Baustelle, aber dafür kann das Hotel nicht.

Das Balmore Hotel in Edinburgh liegt perfekt genau in der MItte der Stadt und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind gut zu Fuß zuerreichen. Leider hat dieses noble 5 Sterne Hotel aber auch ein paar Mängel, der wake up call wurde nie durch geführt, der Service beim Frühstück ist nicht gut und aufmerksam sind die Kellner auch nicht. Die Betten sind eine Qual, […] sie sind extrem weich und sorgen dafür das ich die ganzen 3 Tage sehr schlecht geschlafen habe, da das Hotel mitten in der Stadt liegt und genau neben dem Bahnhof ist die Geräuschkulisse natürlich auch sehr extrem. Der Concierge Service ist sehr gut und die Qualität der Speisen ist viel besser als in den Umliegenden Restaurantes, die Schotten haben das Würzen nicht erfunden. Mehr

Qualitativ sehr hochstehendes Hotel inmitten von Edinburgh. Super Empfang, saubere und ruhige Zimmer. Sehr viel Komfort und mehrfache Zimmerreinigung pro Tag.

The Balmoral is on a par with a good modern hotel anywhere. The main restaurant (Number One) is very good but pricey. High Tea is great. The hotel staff are all enthusiastically helpful. Overall, very good.

The Balmoral was the finest hotel we've ever stayed in - in the UK, France, Germany, and Austria. Terrific service, nice people - everyone called us by Mr and Mrs - and attenion was paid to very detail during our 5 night stay. Service was superb, but discreet. The Balmoral is a very large hotel, but it seemed quite personal in many ways and felt like being at home. The management and staff could not have been more accommodating. They booked restaurant reservations. The bellman transported our bags to the train station and helped load them on the train. The management were very helpful with a problem we had. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice but not 5 star. No shower caps, cotton wool or even tea/ coffee tray supplied in the bedroom. Available when requested but not there as standard. Also buffet style hot breakfast should never be served in a 5 star hotel. The cold buffet was excellent. Most of the food was luke warm and the scrambled eggs were cold. On a positive note, all the […] staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. Location is excellent and hotel clean. We rate this as one of the best, most genuine hotel experiences we have had, and we have travelled extensively worldwide.

A stunning hotel but considering the price and having booked a superior king room u thought it was a bit small. Parking a pain unless you pay for the doorman to park the car for you. Otherwise I would highly recommend it. A real luxury experience

Very friendly staff, always helpful.Very comfortable. These are the things that count! One unfavourable comment on New Year's dinner= Everyone was far too stiff. No fun.No live music. We were here on our honeymoon - The staff were wonderful at the Balmoral, and made our stay extremely memorable. The proximity to the winter festival/market and architectural attractions contribute in making it the most desired location for stay in Edinburgh. When I return, I will undoubtedly be staying here.

Staff could not be better trained. Friendly, helpful, knowledgable...etc. Overall the hoel is quite lovely. Rooms are simple but have everything one would need. Beds clean...bathrooms clean...carpets, not so clean.

Really relaxing and lovely service. I am a keen swimmer and the hotel pool and spa was the best I have come across. The dedicated lift from the room to the pool was fantastic!

We had a problem at check-in, there was a breakdown in communication over the booking. We had booked inclusive breakfast, but this message had not got to hotel. So print out your emails! It was resolved by the hotel, who were apologetic. Apart from that a fantastic stay, faultless. Service, rooms, sleep, view and food all great. Loved choir singing […] carols in Palm court. Very disappointing check in experience- wanted to check in a bit early (1.30) as was not feeling well. Was told room was almost ready and waited in drawing room. 1.5 hours later still not ready, this was after 3 enquiries when we were told that the room was "almost ready", there was an apology and an explanation that the reason for the delay ws that […] we had requested a twin room. Needless to say was shocked when we arrived in our room to discover two single beds joined together with king sheets! This is not what I would expect by a twin room. At that point was tired and fed up so did not raise the issue, however at check out the following day I noticed a £3.95 charge- this was for a coffee I'd ordered during our long wait- I had assumed was complimentary, given our complaint at the time AND that we did not request or sign a bill. So at this stage I vented to the girl at reception about our experience, who was quite blasé in telling us that there was little she could do about our experience at that stage and that we should have complained earlier. Left quite a bad taste in our mouth as we left. Not what one would expect from a 5 star hotel. We won't be returning. Still feel upset about the amount of money I spent. Mehr

Loved The Balmoral-absolute luxury with attentive but not overpowering staff. We had an executive room overlooking the castle. It was immaculate and beautifully furnished. The bed was very comfortable too but we did hear street noise at about 2am from late night revellers so if that may concern you ask for a room that does not face on to the street. […] Bathroom was beautiful with generous sized bath and very powerful shower. No coffee making facilities in room but just ring housekeeping and they bring a complimentary tray of tea/coffee to your room. We visit Edinburgh frequently and this hotel is by far our favourite! Luxurious surroundings ,but be aware that some of the executive rooms ( quite a lot ) face into a courtyard with no views at all. If you want a scenic view of the city then book a hotel on Princes Street which can specify a castle view.

How wonderful this hotel has been for our stay. The hotel staff are all Excellant in there service and presentation. The Balmoral should be used as a bench mark for other hotels in Scotland to aim for in customer service and presentation.Mar Hall could learn a lot from this hotel. This will become our Edinburgh hotel.

The hotel is very comfortable. Its proximity to the Waverly Train Station and the Princess Street shopping makes it all the more valuable. We think the hotel delivers the value for the money paid. If we visit Edinburgh again, we will definitely stay in this hotel.

The Balmoral is next to the train station and within short walking distance to everything within the city that we wanted to do and see. The building itself is just beautiful and elegant and made us feel like royalty. The room and views were amazing - this hotel was perfect in every way for a romantic getaway in Scotland.

The Balmoral is a beautiful historic hotel in a great location right in the centre of Edinburgh and only a couple of minutes' walk from Waverley Station. The service is fantastic. The staff can't do enough for you. The only downside for us was that we didn't have a great room. The room was not very large so a bit cramped and the view was looking onto […] the brick walls of the hotel itself, rather than the great view of Edinburgh most of the other rooms would have afforded. Our room was on the first floor, so not only it was noisy from traffic, this totally lacked privacy, people riding double decker buses were literally in the room. Room rate with Hotels.Com did not include breakfast which was 17 pounds per person

The Balmoral is in the grand old hotel tradition. The only slight lack in an otherwise lovely experience is that there are no grand parlors on the first floor; they appear to have been turned into conference rooms. There is a fire in the entryway fireplace, but only two chairs near it. The room was marvelous.
