Hotel liegt phänomenal gut, die Gesamtanlage und der Service sind sehr gut. Allerdings hatte man uns zuerst ein viel zu kleines und stark verschmutztes Zimmer im 3. Geschoss mit dem Auslass der Großklimaanlage direkt vor dem Fenster angeboten (Lärm!), das war auch so nicht gebucht. Bin häufiger in New York und muss sagen, dass dieses Hotel durchaus sauber und schön und die Zimmer für New-Yorker Verähltnisse normal groß sind (Also klein für europäische Maßstäbe). Leider hatten wir ein wirklich sehr dunkles Zimmer, da das Fenster ca. 50cm von der nächsten Mauer entfernt war. Insofern gab's einfach wenig Tageslicht. Das Hotel liegt gut und hat unsere Erwartungen erfüllt. Bei Ankunft wurden wir mit einem Glas Prosecco begrüßt. Die Zimmer sind nicht gross, dafür aber praktisch eingerichtet. Die Betten sind wie immer bei W hervorragend. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war angemessen (Sonderrate).

The Hotel is nicely designed and clean. The only thing which is a real disaster are the room doors. The are not sound proof at all, during the day and particularly at night all sounds and noises from the corridor disturbs in the room and wakes one up. With the coffee bar one can have an early breakfast prior to the opening of the breakfast restaurant. […] Overall the hotel stay was good but they got to improve the sound isolation of the doors. Great hotel, great location - but breakfast restaurant was not up to standard - no big issue when in NYC as offers around the hotels are plenty. Free Wifi only in lobby area.

... nur für ein Hotel, welches sich als gehobener gibt, und auf den ersten Blick auch den Anschein macht, erwarte ich mehr. Die Zimmer waren soweit ganz gut, bequemes Bett und geräumiges Bad. Negativ ist hingegen der mangelnde Stauraum für Kleider, die Sauberkeit lässt einiges zu wünschen übrig. Zwar wurde das Bett jeden Tag immer gebettet, nur leider […] wurde der offensichtlich, auf der Fensterbank stehende Abfall 3 Tage nicht weggeworfen, obwohl die Abfalleimer immer geleert wurden. Im Badezimmer war es immer eine überraschung, ob nun wieder alle Hand-Tusch- und Fusstrocknungstücher vorhanden waren. Leider war dies nur beim Einchecken der Fall. Die Minibar hat einiges zu bieten und auch Snacks sind vorhanden und weitere Artikel, nur sammelte sich dort schon seit einigen Tagen der Staub an. Im grossen und ganzen ist das Hotel zu empfehlen, die Lage ist gut, nahe der Metro, Central Park, Times Square gut zu Fuss erreichbar. Lassen Sie sich jedoch von der Hotel-Lobby nicht täuschen. Personal an der Reception unfreundlich, kein herzlich Willkommen, es freut uns dass sie unsere Gäste sind oder sonstiges. P.S beim Auschecken umbedingt die Zimmerabrechnung kontrollieren! Mehr

Basically, the hotel is trendy and in a great location, but it's definitely not at the top of the list compared to most W hotels. The room i got was a lot smaller than I expected, even for NYC. Also, there was some dusting and cleaning that had to be done in the bathroom. The shower tile didn't look like it was cleaned very often either. Also, I called […] the front desk to have a clean towel brought up, and it never came... Overall a decent stay. But not what I expect from the W The concierge is very helpful when it comes to referring great restaurants! Mehr

Overall nice hotel for the money. Checkin was difficult - the hotel pipes in very loud music to try urban croud during the week.

The W provides a nice trendy stay at a discount price. Close to Grand Central and major shopping it is a nice place to stay. Business center is a joke with three computers with ridiculous charges for internet use and printer/fax that didn't work. The bars are fun and always filled with guests making it a nice place to hang out before you hit the to […] wn. Mehr

I stayed at the w last year for our anniversary and it was nice, i went back this year again and will never go back, i was in a smaller room than last year and paid more this year. the ice on our floor was out the whole time the attendant out side told us not to flag our own cab but we waited for him to do it for 10 minutes as he sat there talking to […] a co worker so we caled our own. very disappointed at the money that i spent and did not have a good time Mehr

Usually love staying at W hotels...not ths one. Horrible room service, poor AC, dirty bathrooms, rude front desk...but great location.

My brother and I each made our reservation at the same time (hence, same last name). Almost everything was ok for me but for him!!! Since he does not speak english fluently, I had to step up. The first room he got: water on the floor, towel hanger broke in several pieces when he reach for a towel, hygienic paper hanger fell on the floor when ... So […] the next morning, we asked for a room change. The woman said everything would be ok when we will be back arooound 18h00 so we went visiting. When we came back, they first gave him the same room... which had not been taking care of. He asked for another... ok room but they did not deliver his luggages in the room, they delivered it... in another room, unknown by everybody..... do I have to say that my brother was panicking? Where was his luggages? We finally found the correct room with the luggages. We reserved for 3 nights, i received my bill after the second night. I was supposedly leaving that day, sunday... another error since my reservation was for until monday. They also charged me for parking, which I did not asked for. It was diligently taken care of. I don't know if it is the computer system or the people or the hotel itself but it does not worth the hassle. Go somewhere else. Mehr

we stayed in the cozy room and it was small, but that was to be expected. I booked this mostly because I've wanted to stay at the W since it opened, and it was beautiful and trendy as expected. There's no internet in the rooms but the internet in the lobby works fine and the staff was friendly.

Excellent service and accomodations will definately choose the W again!

Nice hotel, little pricey and small rooms but it's NY. Great location and they upgraded our room for free! Will definitely come back here. :)

The small bathroom was difficult. the large sink bumped into my left thigh as I sat on the toilet. a smaller sink or larger room should have been planned... The clean towels were hanging at the "back" of the shower, so they became damp. I avoided using the shower on HIGH, fearing a greater spray would dampen the towels more & splash onto the floor, […] since there was not a FULL door separating the shower from the rest. also no GRAB BAR or rod of any kind to hold, only smooth walls of tile & "glass". The hotel is clean and modern, service is courteous. There is a free Acura ride to anywhere in the city at your disposal as long as you reserve your departure in advance. The lobby has free internet access, but you have to pay for it in-room. On the negative side, the rooms are tiny and not equipped with a refrigerator by default. If you want one, […] there is a 50$ per day rental ... I still can't get over how ridiculous that is. Overall great stay if you don't want any extras! Mehr

W New York on Lex was the perfect location close to our daughter in Midtown East. We were able to walk just about everywhere!

Lives up to the "W" reputation. Great location with good service and very attentive personnel.

Room was very small and cramped, bathroom was tiny, air conditioning unit was noisy.Advertised queen-size bed was really a double. Room did not live up to description. Rate was low for New York but I would have preferred to pay more for a nicer room. I've stayed in a number of "W" hotels and this was by far the least impressive.

My wife and I recently took our first trip to NYC and got a great rate at the W New York. Upon check in I was impressed. The room at the rate we booked was unavailable at that time so they upgraded us into the next level. While the room wasn't huge, it was very modern and clean. We didn't plan on spending a ton of time in it anyway. The hotel's location […] was great as it was within walking distance of just about everything that we wanted to do and see. Lauren, the concierge was great too. Not a bad thing to say about the W. We will definitely be staying here again next time we go to NYC. Mehr

Great place to stay. Lots of fun, great location, and the best staff. I think I've found a new place to stay when I go to NYC. Thanks to everyone at the W for a great weekend.

Expected to be a tiny room with lots of NY noise, but was surprised to get a spacious corner room. The bliss products were a nice added touch. No bathtubs, only shower. Conveniently close to the E train (2 blocks away) and all the 5th avenue shopping. Also went running in Central Park which was <10 minute jog away.

very chic and fun! stayed with boyfriend for long weekned in NYC, walking distance to Grand Central and Central Park. When checking in, was upgraded to a Spectacular room right away for no cost. Loved the music in the hotel lobby. Was unable to rent movie through onDemand, called 24 hour service and the manager on duty was extremly helpful and helped […] take care of the situation. Room was very clean for the most part, dissapointed the pictures show a glass door for the bathrooms when in fact, it was only a curtain. We also found yellow cleaning gloves on the floor after we came back on the second day. I would definitly stay at the W again, seems to fit the younger crowd more than older travelers. Mehr

As usual for the W chain, you get a very good customer service and feel welcome at this hotel. The lobby is inviting and the bar area is fun at night. On the other hand, the rooms are in desperate need for a make over. The beds are way too soft and the you barely get 1 foot to move around the bed. The bathroom is no better. This room is OK at the most […] for 1 person on a quick business trip but forget it for 2 people on holiday... This is my first disappointement in a W hotel... sorry. Mehr

We had a bit of a rocky start to our stay, however, Jason did more than make up for it. He upgraded us because it was our anniversary and another gentleman sent champagne and strawberries to our room! Absolutely wonderful stay with absolutely friendly staff all the way around. I can't say enough good things about the staff and how we were treated.

and i really enjoyed the bliss spa products! security took care of a problem next door immediately. only 2 things could have been better: the flat screen TV was too close to the bed, and the restaurant recommendation (the National) was not so good. The hostess looked at us in a very snobby manner (again and again) -- we were dressed appropriately and […] were from this planet last I checked. Coffee took forever, and the food was so-so. Mehr

Excellent location and service and very spiffy lobby and cafes and bar. The room had everything we needed, very precisely laid out, great bed, great bath. The room we had was very tiny, but, then, so was the price, a real bargain for the quality and location. We understand that if the hotel is not booked, an upgrade to a larger room would be possible. […] It was extremely convenient for our gallery going, and a good place to meet friends. We were more than satisfied. We also had a VERY SPECTACULAR room in Kowloon, and the W Hong Kong, with a fabulous ocean view and swimming pool and spa on the 76th floor of the hotel. The hotel was being renovated, there are no working toilets in the lobby area. It was also impossible to get a coffee within the hotel between breakfast and lunch. We had cockroaches in our room, they messed up moving us to another room, reception had no idea what was happening. We didn't get compensated in any way. Everything about this hotel is geared towards making you feel comfortable. The fabulous staff, the 'whatever-whenever service, the sunken living room in the lobby which is perfect for morning coffee or a drink in the evening, the really comfortable bed, the complimentary ride provided by Acura, the tight security. I really enjoyed my stay. Other folks […] have mentioned the small rooms, but you must understand that this is New York; space is at a premium. Mehr

Lovely hotel, under renovation but still very functional. Had loud neighbors (party at 4am) but security was very helpful.

The W thinks of everything little thing. I had a cozy room and it was cozy (smaller). It was only me and it was a perfect. Will definitely stay there again.

Me and a friend reserved the "fantastic" suite which is a two room 500 sq. ft. I think it was much less than the advertised size. When we got to our room we opened the door to a room much the size of a walk in closet. This was not the room we reserved. We lugged our suitcases back down to the lobby and after some slight disagreement on who was correct […] we were given the correct room, unfortunately, our keys didn't work and went back down to have them keyed correctly. I read that they had recently remolded the room but couldn't tell and the room was dirty and had a dirty dog oder. The snack bar is the stupid kind that once you pick up the item you are automatically charged for it. We didn't realize this until most items were picked up and put back down. I read labels and that was the only way I could manage it. Room service was not consistent with most items on the bland side but delivery was fast. Other than that it was an OK experience with a large price tag. Mehr
