Carlyle Suites Hotel - Washington

Das Hotel liegt einige Minuten zu Fuß nördlich vom Dupont Circle und damit zur nächsten Metro, Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten entfernt, auf dem Weg dorthin kommt man an zahllosen Staatsvertretungen vorbei. Die Zimmer haben eigene Kochmöglichkeiten, ein Supermarkt ist etwa 10 min. entfernt (Cochran Street). Wifi, Safe gratis vorhanden.

This hotel was delightful. The staff was over the top..always a warm greeting from everyone. The rooms were spotlessly clean. My grandson especially loved the buffet breakfast and the wait staff couldn't have been nicer. I definitely would not only recommend this place to others, but my family and I plan on returning there for another vacation!

The hotel is very comfortable, love the Art Deco appointments, everything was clean and well maintained, the heat control worked perfectly, and the staff was pleasant and cheerful. Hotel advertised free parking but there were no spots available. Had to park 5 blocks away and move the car by 9am the next am. Noisy and old condition

We have two kids and the hotel was great for them.

The location was fine, just a few blocks from Dupont Circle. However, the room was small and dark and overlooked an alleyway and a dumpster. The worst part of my stay was that when I returned from dinner at the restaurant/bar downstairs my room reeked of chicken soup (the soup of the day, lucky me!). I'm a vegetarian so I passed at dinner but got to […] fall aleep breathing it in which was truly nauseating. Guess I must have been right over the kitchen and the smell permeated the entire room. The only thing I liked about this hotel was the sun lamp in the bathroom. However, I only found that out of desperation- the shower was only half enclosed and when I realized I was freezing I decided there must be some way of staying warm and got out to play with the switches. Next time I will pay just a bit more to stay in a hotel where I don't feel like I can't wait to get out of the room. Mehr

I've stayed here at least 4 times. Rooms are compact but equipped with all I needed - safe big enough for lap-top, kitchenette, table or desk to work on, comfortable bed, very clean. Staff has always been very pleasant and helpful. Location is dynamite, just a few blocks from Dupont Circle and lively areas along 17th and further north. Free parking, […] though it's very tight and not guaranteed. I've always found a spot there. Mehr

Loved the room, great location, the bartender downstairs (Hanin) was awesome. I even checked out a little late and they were kind enough not to charge me for it. I'd definitely go back there.

the wife and I stay in DC about 5 times a year for fun. This place is a jewel and is now our favorite! Quaint restored Art Deco with solid quality and true to era refinements. Its a blast, great little bar, large rooms, flat screen, marble bath and kitchen, Keurig coffee, memory foam beds, good breakfast and quiet! Walking distance to our favorite restaurants […] and Jazz Bars near DuPont Circle and also U-Street. From the plush towels to the free parking, this place is a find. Dog Friendly, with a dog park a block up the street. The staff was multicultural, very friendly, and interesting. Always a smile and a hello. Mehr

Great hotel in a great neighborhood! Classy but relaxed!

Nice neighborhood, convenient to Metro, lovely view from 8th floor, quiet and comfortable.

The Carlyle is a beautiful hotel. Kind of art nouveau/art deco. Rooms are comfortable and is location is very good (4-6 blocks from the Dupont Metro, in an area with restaurants, banks and drug store. However I was kind of disappointed with the management. I asked for a late check out at 2pm, and they sounded like, although they had availability, they […] were not inclined to have any exceptions. I argue that the cleaning lady opened up my room at 7 am although there was a sign of no disturbance at the door and that I overslept a little bit. It was also raining heavily outside and my plane would not leave til night. All I asked for was 1 more hour at the room, so I could organize myself and wait for the rain. The answer was no, period. Very disappointing. Won't be coming back. I am sure you can find other good hotels, with more flexibility and consideration for the guests. Mehr

Wonderful staff! Had such a great time over a long weekend :) Will definitely come back soon. The only issue was that there wasn't enough parking!

It was a very good place to stay. Short walk to restaurants and entertaiment. Very nice well kept neighborhood,with some of DC nice older homes. We would stay there again.

Great hotel with quick access to subway in a lovely neighborhood. It's a little dated and dark but convience more than makes up for that.

I booked this hotel for my boyfriend's surprise birthday, and although I did not intend to throw a party WITHIN the suite, I sure could have with its spaciousness! The front desk associates were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that I have to complain about was parking. My boyfriend and I had to park at the Marriot about 3 blocks away and pay […] a whopping 36 dollars for overnight parking. If they could just expand parking somehow, they would be a perfect 10. Mehr

Great stay and Staff as always.

Although we were unable to stay more than one evening, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Carlyle. We were given a complimentary upgrade and stayed in a spacious room with a tiny kitchen, dressing area, walk-in closet area, king bed and sitting area. The hotel itself has a great deco feel. The surrounding area -- with dozens of embassies -- […] is fun to walk around. It is an easy 3 blocks to the Metro. There is a charming neighborhood bakery not far away and the staff was especially friendly - perhaps because it was the holidays. Mehr

Rooms are big, clean. Location is awesome with all the embassies around and just a nice walk from Whitehouse. Best part is, we left in a hurry, and forgot my harddisk in the room safe. 2 days later, it was delivered to me by UPS.

There wasn't anything that they didn't go out of their way to help me with...directions, services, local info and just general cheerfulness in their service.

We stayed three nights over Halloween weekend. Our room was a corner double double grand suite. The check in was quick and the elevator had a room key swipe feature as added security. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The little kitchenette was well stocked with everything you might need to fix a few light meals or snacks in the room. […] We were able to walk to the Dupont Circle Metro stop and thus get everywhere we wanted to go. We also rented bicycles at a public rental rack near the hotel. Great neighborhood just to walk and explore. Definitely stay there again. Mehr

Excellent experience. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating- we were greeted with a welcome home each night we returned. Beds were so comfortable and linens were crisp. Especially loved having windows that open! Kitchenette with Keurig was a must-have. Breakfast buffet was fabulous and really inexpensive. Hptel is undergoing a small amount of renovation curremtly. Clean, rooms with kitchenettes and pull out sofa.....with a this its a tad cramped but not a big deal. Tempurepedic beds, nice brakfast and lounge area, very close to DuPont Circle. Overall a nice stay

This is a fantastically dog friendly hotel, no pet fees and there is a dog park a block a way from the hotel. The suites are roomy and the kitchenette is super handy for storing snacks and chilling drinks.

Solicitous employees, exceptionally comfortable bed, good internet connection (wireless, free), spacious room. 3 blocks from Dupont Circle, in area of embassies and consulates.

We found this little boutique Hotel in the Dupont Circle area of Washington as a unique place to stay for our Smithsonian Holiday. Its a nice walk to catch the Metro at Dupont north and a quiet area as well. The only downside is the limited parking if you have rental car, there are definitely not enough spaces for the rooms that are available. We […] found ourselves not using our car anyway,,,the metro is quicker easier cheaper and very convenient to that of trying to park your car anywhere near the National Mall. The breakfast in the restaurant was mediocre at best, and for 11.95 not a big draw for us. We used the kitchenette provided for breakie and late night snacks. There are a few grocery stores within a 10 min walk, so buying a few groceries and making your own breakfast lunch or dinner can be a very cheap alternative to eating out every night. The hotel staff were pleasant and polite and also very helpful. Our room was clean and tidy,,,except one day the room cleaners didn't do a very good job of cleaning up., i looked as if they by passed our room altogether except the bed was made. Apart from that our stay was great and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit DC. Mehr

Our second stay in this great hotel. The staff and accommodations are fantastic; love the temperpedic beds, kitchen in the room and free parking in the back. Just a short walk from Dupont in a more residential section of town, makes it feel like you're a local.

The staff is incredibly lovely. Gracious, helpful and all that. Location is perfect, Dupont Circle, in a quiet residential neighborhood. Walkable to Metro, and all Dupont Circle locations. I've stayed here before and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Location is wonderful for walking. Staff was very knowledgeable on restaurants in the area. Easy walk to the Metro. Great for car-less travel.

Free parking in Washington! This is a charming spot within Dupont Circle neighbourhood. And it is a great neighbourhood! The front desk staff are wonderful...food and bar staff not so much. But it is a great deal, dogs are allowed, and it is nice to have a fridge and microwave. I got an excellent rate on hotels.com Be aware that this is an OLD building, […] so if thin walls are a big issue for you, you will probably do better elsewhere. I will definitely return! Mehr
