Savoy Suites Hotel - Washington

The room was clean and well appointed. There was a restaurant on site, but the food quality inferior and severely overpriced. Overall, the staff was attentive and very helpful.....so overall I would recommend this hotel in every element except the restaurant.

My sister and I stayed four nights. The Savoy was very attractive, clean and in a lovely Georgetown neighborhood. For April, it was a little more reasonably priced than hotels closer to downtown. We were just a few blocks from the Vice-President's house. There was a courtesy shuttle from the hotel to the Woodley Park Metro station 5-6 minutes away which […] we used every day. The Metro is the best way to get around D.C., although if you drive, the Savoy has an underground parking garage.The staff at the front desk and restaurant were polite and helpful and we received a 20% off coupon for meals in the restaurant. A very cool feature in the room was a cabinet unit with a sink, cooktop, microwave and refrigerator. There was even cookware and dishes. Whole Foods was a 2 block walk away to stock up on snacks and libations. I don't have a single complaint about the Savoy and am very happy I chose it. I would definitely return. Mehr

The Savoy was a great hotel in Georgetown. It had a reasonable internet rate for two nights. The room was big enough for our family with two kids. The desk staff was friendly and quick. The room was clean and modern with a kitchen area as well. We loved the location, however, it is not in walking distance to the Metro. The Savoy had very convenient […] and free underground parking too. They had a restaurant and bar but we didn't use them. We would probably go back again the next time we visit DC. excellent if you have to be in that part of DC. I don't think I'd stay here to sightsee, but not sure about the nearby transit. My room had view of Potomac and Washington Monutment in the background. Very nice room

Very comfortable hotel.....bed great and size of room is fine. Very clean. Great location/convenience.

I visit DC for work at least three times per month. I have finally found a reasonably priced, fully equipped, geographically convenient, pleasantly staffed, medium-sized and very comfortable hotel with free parking! I enjoy the convenience of parking for free, and for the nice sized and fully equipped rooms. Despite the reward points I get from staying […] frequently at the large chain hotels, I prefer the comfort and convenience of the Savoy Suites. Well worth the stay and the price. Mehr

Great hotel. Clean, very nice staff, FREE PARKING!! They have a shuttle service to take you to the subway, I tried it one day - i preferred taking cabs... Only complaint was the food- the hotel food was not very good.. but service was quick, Otherwise - a great stay and I will stay there again if i find myself in the DC area.

The next time I'm in D.C. I'll try to stay at the Savoy Suites. The neighborhood is a little out-of-the way but the room was excellent, especially for the reasonable price. Very clean, modern and spacious. Good beds. Excellent service at the front desk. There's a Whole Foods right down the street and you have the ability to use the Washington Sports […] Club also a block away - tons better than the usual hotel fitness facility. Hotel has its own nice restaurant, but there are also many neighborhood places. This is the model for a nice, quiet place to stay in D.C. Mehr

The hotel is very conveniently located and is in a gorgeous area. The staff was very friendly and helpful during my stay. The parking was great and the free WI-FI was a plus as well. I would definitely stay here again or recommend it to family or friends.

The window covering in my room was not adequate. There were immovable fabric side panels, but sheers covered the bulk of the windows. The room was far too bright due to the street lamps outside. Never been in a hotel where curtains weren't included!

Savoy Suites was just WONDERFUL! Location convenient to downtown and local area. Very quiet and great to walk in nearby neighborhoods. Highly recommend.

Wonderful hotel. Very clean and near a convenient bus stop. There are many taxis that go up and down the street so there are many options besides public transit. There are great restaurants on the same street including Whole Foods where you can buy a nice selection of food if you choose to stay in. The hotel was very clean and nicely appointed. Our […] toilet would not flush so they sent up a maintenance man and he promptly and quickly changed the flush mechanism and it gave us no more trouble. Everything about the hotel was great. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfy. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was very tasty. There was a mix up with our order, but the server took care of it quickly and we were not charged for that item. My concern was the parking. The garage height restrictions were 6 foot 2 inches. I drive a […] Yukon Denali and it would not clear. There is an excess parking lot, but it was a bit of a hike and and up a hill. It was a difficult walk for my mom, but she did it as she did not want me, a woman, to walk to and from the hotel alone. This restriction should be noted so that others are aware. I would stay at the hotel again, but I would drive my car instead of my SUV next time. Mehr

I was in town for business. My room was very large and clean. I ate dinner at the bar, crab and avocado salad. Excellent! I had a very friendly greeting at the front desk. After a long day on the road, it put a smile back on my face. Great price for the DC area.

It is in a very good location if you are it is the area of town where you want to lodge. Check it out relative to where you want your base to be.

Large comfortable rooms but upholstery was quite dirty and shabby for an expensive hotel quite far from downtown.

The hotel's housekeeping was atrocious. We never received face clothes although we would ask each day. We only got one soap until we asked the second day. The maids threw the pillows on the floor while they changed the bed. I called to room service for a sandwich for dinner one night and was told I could only get "dinner menu" items. They could not […] make a sandwich. When I ordered dinner came they failed to provide butter for the rolls. My wife went to the restaurant around 3 PM and asked for some lunch item and was told it was too late for the item. I will never stay there again and will never recommend them. Mehr

The rooms are large with really comfortable beds, although the bathrooms are on the small size. The onsite restaurant, Twist, had some great choices at reasonable prices. Will definitely stay here again!

This hotel is clean, convenient, and comfortable. What really stands out is the outstanding quality of the staff and management. Highly recommend.

If you want a steady, reliable hotel, well maintained, this is the one for you. Not near the Mall or other major cultural attractions. But great free inside parking.

Loved the hotel. Loved the ambience. Very quaint, but roomy. The room was spacious and the in room refrigerator was nice. The shuttle takes you to the metro station which is a 10 minute ride. It is a wonderful place to stay. The quality of the services was outstanding. I felt like they cared for us.The location worked out for us being parents of a graduating AU student. We were close to everything we needed to get to. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was fine, but the furnishings in the room were a bit tired- The staff people were very helpful.

The hotel was very convenient for us. Great staff, easy access to the Metro through the hotel's shuttle, nearby restaurants, cvs and whole foods made for a very easy trip.

Everything was fine except for one big problem. I asked for a wakeup call at 6:00 AM. I received the call at 7:00 AM. I missed my meeting and was not a happy camper. if the get the wake up call issue resolved the value equation for this place is very good.

I had a miserable experience with this hotel. I booked the hotel because the reviews, photos, and description led me to believe that it would be conveniently located, it would provide a clean, comfortable room, and that it would be managed by a helpful, professional staff. The room was dirty, musty, and had a messy bed. The lobby was shabby and not […] at all like the posted photos, and the staff could not confirm that they could arrange a taxi to the event for which I had come to town. It was pouring rain, there was no place nearby from which to hail a cab, and the hotel seemed ill-prepared to handle this seemingly simple request. Worst of all was my interaction with the manager. The front desk agent informed me a refund was at the discretion of the booking agency. The hotels.com customer service agent helped me as best he could, but then he told me only the hotel could grant the refund. After this runaround I spoke to the hotel's manager. He said that he found the room in question to his satisfaction and therefore refused any refund. I offered to pay a cancellation fee due to the inconvenience, but he seemed to relish being unaccommodating. I've never had such a negative experience with a manager during my decades of travel. Everyone I dealt with during this fiasco seemed to want to serve this customer as best he or she could, except for this manager who couldn't be bothered by my complaints and dissatisfaction. Shame on him for behaving so reprehensibly, and shame on the Savoy Suites Hotel for entrusting this man with management of their property. Mehr

Great price for the great location. We enjoyed this place due to it's location. Just north of Georgetown, but not in the midde. Walking distance from a great park, where i watched a fun game of softball. The free parking was great, due to lack of parking on the street. I've never had such great service from hotel staff before. The bed was amazing, I […] normally get up numerous times at night, and my girlfriend normally feels/hears me getting up. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel was as nice as it was, especially for the price. The hotel staff was consistently friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good too. I travel a lot on business and the bed was AMAZING! Best sleep I ever had in a hotel! My only angst was that ottoman to the chair in my room was stained which made […] me reluctant to use it. They are also in the process of remodeling, however, I did not hear any disruptive noise. The hotel security is good too. You need an access card to get to any of the hotel floors; and there was an in-room safe for your valuables. Mehr

Savoy Suites is located between Georgetown and Cathedral Heights. I have stayed there 3 times in the last 2 years. The rooms are a nice size, the staff is very pleasant and helpful, everything is clean and efficient and the room rates are very reasonable for the District of Columbia . Need a place to stay while visiting Georgetown, without the price of the hotel that is in Georgetown, then this is a perfect choice. A quick 7 min walk to Georgetown university hospital. A nice place to stay. Comfy rooms, perfect view. Great restaurant. beyond friendly staff. I hope to one day return

Nice, safe neighborhood with many students, urban professionals, dog walkers on the sidewalks and no panhandlers. Staff was attentive, helpful, friendly and courteous thoughout. This is an older "boutique" hotel where you aren't expecting all the latest amenities. Some wear and tear is evident, and noisy renovations were proceeding both days I was there. […] Core quality was good, a few things lacking. For instance, the exercise facilities involve a free pass to a health club is available two blocks away -- I never got there as I never had time to partake but late at night. Free shuttle to nearby points of interest was reliable and well run. The free wi-fi service worked well for laptop users, but there is no business center. Clientele were solidly middle-class and sensible security measures such as a full-time doorman and key-card-operated elevators kept out any riff-raff. Mehr

I had a lovely room overlooking the tidal basin. Staff was courteous and soliticious. Loved the fact that I could park below the hotel for free. I had thought I would go out for dinner, but decided to stay in and rest. THe hotel resturant had a good selection of choices. I had a good glass of wine. Great job!

The hotel itself was wonderful. The fact that the parking facility was closed and that one had to walk two blocks after parking remotely was not an acceptable substitute. A far better answer would have been a valet to said remote lot.

great location. very clean. the best hotel in dc for the money. the only bad thing is that the parking garage was under construction so i had to park a block away. that will be fixed by march so you can park right under the hotel. stay here.
