We were looking for a last minute get away to escape the May Gray weather of coastal SoCal. This an old Holiday Inn property that has been refurbished and decorated in extremely bright colors. Our room was red, orange, pink & yellow with purple carpet, shocking at first to say the least. The room, while not fancy by any means, was clean & comfortable […] with a balcony that overlooked the lively pool area. The pool bar was a buzz with a 20 to 30 ish crowd and a DJ spinning lively load music. Food at the Tapa's restaraunt was eclectic but very good. We will consider returning but if your looking for Ritz Carlton amenities and a quiet relaxing pool side experience, keep looking! Mehr

Omg, I have never seen so many hipsters in one place in my life. We stayed here for Coachella and it was definitely the place to be if you're a 20-something hipster. Pool parties started at 10am (that's when the music cranked up into our 'upgraded' pool-view room) and stopped before we came back for the night. That's not when the party stopped though, […] there was music playing in some of the rooms (and definitely in the one next to ours) until the wee hours of the night/next morning. The hotel staff was ridiculously helpful and they even had a free shuttle going to and from Coachella like 10 times a day (wish I'd known that before buying a shuttle pass)! The hotel itself was rather run down with a new, fresh coat of paint on it. Looks good, but upon further inspection it's definitely had better days. Our hotel room came equipped with a mini fridge and safe (love that)! Overall, our stay was okay. I'm sure things are different every other weekend but our stay was rather noisy (we came for a good time but we did not come ready to party that hard). If you're looking for a gigantic Coachella pre/after party though I really can't recommend this place enough. Mehr
"young, clean, fun & courteous"
we stayed at the Saguaro which is basically newly remodeled from the carpets up - and yes, i am one who is easily disgusted with old carpets. the place still smells brand new and the staff was more than helpful. we had car trouble which unfortunately ruined our weekend... but the Saguaro staff was very generous in extending our check out time, allowing […] us to lounge around poolside to deflect our worries. it was also a terrific deal during Coachella weekend. i would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a young, fun environment, pretty good room service food and a lively pool scene. It was Coachella weekend so everyone was busy and booked to capacity so this in consideration the service was good, the bed was especially compfortable and the hotel was quiet in the night but luckily we were not there during the day as it was a loud DJed party by the pool
"Fun Place!"
This is definitely a different style place than we normally stay at, but we had a great time. We usually book very "zen" type rooms, but this hotel is super bright...as in purple carpets, orange sink, and lime green walls kind of bright. But once we got settled, we found the place to be a lot of fun. All of the first floor rooms have a sliding door […] that opens onto the patio by the pool. There's a bar at the pool and a very social and lively mix of people (families, couples, singles, etc). The staff is all friendly, and the food we ate at one of the restaurants was great. They also have a free shuttle every hour to take you to/from downtown Palm Springs since the hotel is a couple miles away. The hotel just opened two months ago, so there was still a tiny bit of a paint smell in the room, but it wasn't bad at all, and I'm sure that'll fade with time. Also, the hotel is completely pet friendly with no weight limitation or extra fees, which was a key selling point for us to bring our dog with us. It's definitely a different property, but in an enjoyable way! Mehr
"Saguaro"
Bright and colorful hotel. Kitschy but comfortable. Offers a free yoga class and free bike rentals which is nice. Within riding distance to the downtown bars and restaurants but a little far for walking. Older hotel that's been remodeled but done fairly well. Got a deal on it but palm springs does have better hotels with better locations...
"Saguaro: Not as cheesy as I expected, BUT... To"
Alright, I am a snob. And more particularly, a Palm Springs snob from LA. I heard the hype about this hotel and was immediately turned off because it used to be a holiday inn, it's kinda big for my taste and the obnoxious multi color, color scheme seemed unnecessary and a bit desperate. HOWEVER, I gave it a go. The lobby is kind of embarrassing and […] I still don't really agree with their choice in the use of every color imaginable, but overall, it was clean and my husband and I had a really nice time. We had a delicious dinner at Tinto and enjoyed some time by the pool. Here comes the but. The staff of the hotel and restaurant were terrible with a capital t. They seemed to all be under the age of 20. And it showed. Unprofessional, inexperienced and slow. Despite all of the niceties, the bad service really put a damper on the whole experience. Think twice my fellow hotel.com-ers Mehr
It was really nice to see the way they keep it clean and it was so colorful and staff were so friendly and helpful i would stay here on my next trip
"The Saguaro is festive, fun and comfortable"
We have stayed at other Joie de Vivre properties and have yet to be disappointed. The Saguaro is colorful and the rooms are nice - the pool was great and a nice mix of young singles as well as some families. The restaurant (Tinto) is so great that it was sold out by 5:30 but we were able to order room service so enjoyed the food from the comfort of […] our room. Overall fun place to stay! Mehr
"Colorful Hotel in Palm Springs"
Very much looked forward to staying at the Saguaro in Palm Springs after reading about it and seeing that they had two eateries open by Iron Chef Garces. Very smooth check in...we had a mountain view room, which we were very disappointed with. It's more like a view of the parking lot. We quickly upgraded to a pool view for $50 more a night. Signage […] in hallways as to what door leads where are not clear. The decor in the rooms was very cute and modern. The color choices could be off putting for certain individuals. Our room's TV didn't work but we didn't bother to call to get it fixed. The bed was average. The bathroom did not have a vanity mirror, so bring one if it is a necessity! The towels were very plush, I assume it was because the hotel is newly opened. The shower head was wonderful. The pool area was great and entertaining with music, ping pong, bocci ball, and a bar. Two hot tubs surround the pool. Mister's help to cool down guests in the hot Palm Spring temperatures. Tinto's and El Effe bar we great additions to the hotel. We ate at both and the food was delicious. Great decor in both. Overall a nice stay and I would give the Saguaro a 3.5 out of 5. Mehr
"Saguaro Hotel Palm Springs"
This hotel is brilliant to the eye. The staff are all cheerful, very helpful and a pleasure to interact with. Colors while vibrant are very pleasing . Loved everything about this hotel except for the fact that one can hear voices from adjoining rooms and foot traffic above. We were grateful that this was not noticed in the night.

"Nice, but not quite enough for the $"
Easy, quick, informative check in (and they give you a wash cloth with flower - a nice touch). Room was very clean, fun colors, nice bathroom minus a cockroach (small) found in AM. Overall very good. TV quality ok - nice flat panel but nothing special. Poolside room (110) opened up to pool and balcony. Very cool but could be a bit loud during day […] if you were relaxing in room. Tinto restaurant very limited menu but wonderful overall quality with reasonable prices. Great service. Major issue was the partying going on all night in our hallway, and the fact that the ice maker was literally right outside our room. If we had been in a more remote location I'm sure it would have been fine. There are "sub par" rooms in every hotel and I think that we unfortunately scored one. Aside from that I would recommend the hotel, but the price is pretty steep for what you get. Waited for the price to drop $50 before we booked and still found that price borderline too high. Overall - 7.5/10. Mehr
"the happening place in Palms Springs"
This place is great, hotel was clean and is in a great location. The is a definite buzz or vibe about this place, lots of energy, a fun place to be.
Avoid until they get the kinks worked out. Very difficult hotel to navigate, Restaurant and bar look like lots of fun, they put alot of thought into those spaces. Some rooms smell of fresh paint try to book (if you are hell bent on staying there) in room with pool view, they smel ok. Pillows are brutally hard, bring your own.
"Happily surprised!"
Wow -- a rainbow exploded on our hotel! Very bright and cheerful. We LOVED our suite! The hotel is very modern and bright with a great pool area. The towels were soooo soft and the bathroom amenities were great. We will definitely stay here again when we're in Palm Springs.
"Saguaro Hotel"
For a new hotel, the Saguaro was a nice stay; there is something though to be said on the color palette chosen however. It is a little difficult to wake up in the morning to an apricot room and purple carpet. The decorating scheme is a bit too much and distracting from the overall service provided
"Hotel on the rise"
It's a pretty hotel with a fun look. More importantly, this hotel cares about your experience. If things go wrong, which can happen at even the nicest places, you want a hotel to make the effort to make things right. They accomplished this when things went wrong. One suggestion. Bloody Marys at the pool bar.
"Brand new hotel"
I stayed during opening weekend at the Saguaro in Palm Springs. The room was nice - very clean and it was great to be the first person to ever sleep in the bed. However, the new carpets and paint were off-gassing so we had to leave the balcony door open all the time to avoid allergic reactions. Restaurants were not open because the kitchen was not finished. […] Pool area is beautiful. Overall, I would like to return when everything is open. Mehr
"Hotel Saguaro - not quite ready for guests"
The design of the hotel was unique and different, but very striking. Passing it we would never have stopped, but once there, WOW. They should have waited a while before opening the hotel as it was not quite ready for guests, and then they truly could have enjoyed a "joie de vivre" experience. We would definitely recommend this hotel, but at a later […] date when everything was ready to go. Reception people were extremely pleasant and helpful. We will definitely stay there again. Mehr
"Saguaro palms"
Nice and clean. Great location. Helpful staff.
"New hotel still ironing out the wrinkles"
I believe this hotel had only been open a few weeks when we stayed. It's very colorful and is dog-friendly. The bar and restaurant were still being readied for opening the week after our stay. I'm unable to comment on those aspects other than to say things looked nice from the lobby. We had an issue with the hot water not working in our shower. Although […] it took a team of 3 repairmen to fix it, they were quick about it. The two complaints I have were the very poor wifi and the TV was horrible. I think it was HD but was very blurry. I couldn't get my phone to connect to the wifi and it seemed to take forever to connect with my laptop. Mehr

The king bedded room was not a king bedded room...and when I called to tell destk that it wasn't, they reiterated that it is was...it wasn't. No reading light, other then that, room was fine.
"Very poor start"
I was prepared to give plenty of leeway to the Saguaro as it opened Feb. 1st, but they simply should not have opened for business yet. Nothing was available except a bed to sleep in. Neither of its advertised restaurants were open, nor was its fitness center. There was no room service. None of this was made clear prior to making a reservation. Their […] solution to a fitness center was an outside facility about a mile away...fine. But when we arrived we were each charged $10 to use the gym. Again, not made clear by the hotel. When this was mentioned to manager, Michael, we were told that's why the resort fee of $18/day was waved. Why would there be a resort fee? This isn't a resort, as of yet at least. We were also told the $10 would be credited to our credit card as a courtesy...as of 3 days later no such credit appears on my account. Finally, there was a dirty plate sitting outside our room our entire stay, and was never taken away even after calling the front desk. Mehr
