Red Jacket Beach Resort - South Yarmouth

Schönes Hotel mit direktem Zugang zum Strand und Pool. Zimmer und Frühstück o.k. Wir hatten einen schönen Balkon zum Pool hin. Leider war es Anfang Mai noch zu kalt um dort zu sitzen.

Freundliche Begrüssung, alle Mitarbeiter sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, eine Totalrenovation würde gut tun. Typisches amerianisches Ferienhotel aus den Siebziger Jahren, Familiär.

We enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, the weather was not nice enough to enjoy the beach but we would come back for that. Our son really enjoyed the pool facilities.

Beautiful location, nice beach front property, but the rooms are older and there is no noise insultation between first and second floors. We could hear everything going on above us and I'm sure they could hear us as well. So if you're neighbors are early risers, you will be as well. But all in all a very pleasant stay.

Although the grounds were nicely groomed, for the money the room was spartan. Indoor/outdoor carpet, spider webs under the bed, old furniture...the room was horrible. No restaurant or bar service in the evening.

Wonderful facility and the Cape is always great. Two complaints about this location: weddings there both Saturday and Sunday while we were there - resulted in NO PARKING available - we got back from a great night at 11 PM and rode around looking for a parking spot - finally just left car in a no parking area a long walk away. NOISE outside our room […] until midnight both nights. Our recommendation is really a maybe. Mehr

Nothing fancy but clean and c omfortable.././.would return....

Our room smelt moldy and hair was all over the bathroom. The rugs did not appear overall very clean. The indoor locker room also did not appear too clean or well maintained. We frequent hotels and the extras that are available and the location is perfect, however I would stay at a cleaner hotel a bit further down the beach if possible. I was hoping […] for a lot more and was somewhat disappointed. It seemed as though this location was touted as Red Jacket resorts "elite" spot - I think the Blue Rock was cleaner. The pool was perfect at this location however. I would only recommend this hotel due to its location. Mehr

We had a very pleasant stay at Red Jacket in Cape Cod. Definetely recommend it for family vacation. I would go back and stay there again. We had breakfast there and it was very good. Both the pools were fine indoor and outdoor. The beach was ok?? Didn't like the sea weed on the beach, try ing to walk and not srtep all of it.........

This three star resort is perfect for families as everything is right at your fingertips. Views are exceptional but inside rooms are tired and need a face lift. Food is mediocre. Always a smile on the staff and very welcoming.

We had scheduled to be at this hotel for 5 nights. The rooms and surroundings are very clean. The beach offers is large and offers a lot of space to play in the sand. The sand is very coarse and contains a lot of small rocks so it is better to wear shoes. It is very important to note that there are absolutely NO waves on that beach and that the water […] is full of algeas for the first 12 feet. It is just like a lake. Also, we did not like the fact that the main road going to this resort are always very busy. We felt that we were kept hostage and had difficulty going out for dinner. The food was good but a bit too pricy. The main reason for our visit was to let our kids play in the waves. Hotels.com and this hotel were kind enough to let us cancel our reservation after 2 nights. After discussing with other clients, our conclusion is that the price per night that they charge is 2x too expensive for what it is worth. Basically, for the actual price, it should be all inclusive. It far exceeded our expectations. The Kids Club was fantastic. Would definitely make this a yearly trip. The only difference would be to stay longer than 3 days!!!

Off-season very quiet. No coffee maker or microwave but comfortable rooms.

We enjoyed our stay, but couldn't use the pool or hottub because there were too many kids. It would have been nice to have a time for adults or older kids to use the facilities.

The best, the very best reason to go to the Red Jacket Beach Resort is if you want a place with an ocean AND a river view. It's the perfect spot. You are ON the ocean. Seagulls swoop, waves crash... the sun sets over the water.. The staff work hard to make people happy. We were there just before Halloween and they had the place decked out with cobwebs, […] ghouls, and thoughtful spooky decorations. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was a bit musty smelling so we just opened the sliding doors. The only thing that was a bit of a drag, and which may not be the fault of the management is that some people smoke on their balconies. If you are also on your balcony - you are with their smoke. But, again, perhaps that can't be helped. All in all, we would go there again -it's the best real estate around - the sand is clean, the air is fresh and the water laps and leaps on the rocks. Mehr

liked the Kids Klub, pools were very good, resort has a good location on the beach. We also did the para-sailing. This Resort has it all, you don't have to leave the grounds if you don't want to. The activities for kids that RJ runs are great, my 7 & 11 yr olds both enjoyed the activities. I recommend this hotel but be prepared to pay a premium during […] high season. I would not say its a high value but the resort does deliver a great vacation for the whole family. More for kids under 13 yrs old. Mehr

Front desk very helpful – maid service missed our room on second day, but we had plenty of towels – sheets on king size bed undersized so kept slipping off – beach had to much seaweed on it for me – had problem finding parking on Saturday as they were very busy – Great indoor and outdoor pools very clean and saw maintenance checking chlorine levels […] – Great sauna – Plenty of ice for coolers - We would return for another stay. The Pancake Man, The Skippers and Captain Parker’s minutes away for great food – you feel very safe in the area. Mehr

Room was small and not up to date but the staff and management was excellent. Grounds were fantastic. Near by towns and neighborhoods were excellent and Dining was Top notch.

Nice beach and pool. Good seafood restaurants near here. Neat and Clean. It was comfortable stay for us with children. One problem was noisy steps of upstairs in the midnight. Maybe they were drunk. Maybe this was due to old facility's structure.

The location is wonderful. Everything was clean and well kept. For the price of the room, I would like to have seen an in-room coffee maker and a continental breakfast. Also, there was no elevator to our second-floor room and my sister has very bad knees. If you have any difficulty with stairs, don't get a second floor room.

Location Location Location!!!! Can't beat the location. if your interested in a quiet family friendly beachfront location then this is the place. The accomodations are nice. Not worth the price paid but clean nevertheless. What your paying for is the Location. Would visit again with the understanding that the accomodations are equal to a top line MOTEL […] yet the White Sand Beach and Water Sports is worth the cost. Mehr

While the hotel itself was a bit old and shabby, the atmosphere was very family oriented, the location perfect for kids and the food remarkably good for hotel food.

the location of the resort is great. for those of you who want to sit at the beach all day you can do it, if you want to hop in the car for alittle site seeing, you can do it. the oceanview rooms are great. it was fantastic to walk from the room to the beach in under a minute!!! great place for families or for love birds looking to get away.

We spent Memorial Day weekend at this resort. It was amazing. The view from our room was fantastic, looking out over the Parker River and we got great sunset pictures. We were there for a romantic getaway and we were not disappointed. Being the holiday weekend there were LOTS of families booked at the hotel which made for a bit of a higher noise level […] at times and the pools were filled with kids but the views and the private beach made up for that. We did eat breakfast at the restaurant and I think it left something to be desired. The breakfast buffet needed to be restocked when we arrived (about 10:00 am on Sunday) and the menu entrees were a bit pricey. Service was VERY SLOW and the staff seemed to have their attention elsewhere. Again, the great views and the accommodations made up for a bit of a lack of service in the dining room. The rest of the staff was helpful and very friendly. It was a great trip and we would definitely book here again! Mehr

Our stay at the Red Jacket Beach Resort was in May, so may not be typical of experiences later in the summer. The location on the beach is prime! The pools looked nice, although we did not partake. The restaurant looked ok, but wasn't open for dinner since it was pre-season. The "oceanview" room did have a great view, but the beds weren't very comfortable […] and the furninshings are a bit dated. It's a 2 or 3 star hotel with a 5-star view. Mehr

We've stayed at the Red Jacket Beach Resort many times. The resort staff are consistently friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to an ocean front room with jacuzzi. The room like the rest of the resort was very clean. breakfast in the cafe was excellent with quick but not rushed service. We love the hotel and the cape on the off season. It's out of season (after Labor Day) so our expectations were lower. Well, we didn't have to lower our sights on anything about the Red Jacket Inn. It was wonderful. Views, services, grounds, pools, beach - everything was beautiful. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Me and my fiance stayed overnight, our room was on the river and had amzing views. Our room was clean but definitely could use an upgrade, the shower was horrible and the tub very small. We did get a king size bed and that was comfy. We ordered the breakfast in bed and that was great. The Spa services were great. We are definitely going back and taking […] the kids during the Summer months, the beach was beautiful. Great setting!!!! Mehr

I take my mother yearly to the cape and it is usually around the same time each year. this is the first time we stayed at the Red Jacket and I would stay there in the future, both the staff and the Hotel were outstanding

This is a terrific property and has an especially kid friendly beach. pretty view of nantucket sound. Clean, good friendly service - lots of restaurants nearby. had a great corner oceanfront room, but the riverview rooms have a great view as well and are cheaper.

The beach has too many weeds, making it difficult to enjoy it fully.

This hotel is in need of updating. Bathrooms are very dated and need repair.

Great location, private beach, typical "Cape Cod" style rooms, family friendly. Ocean Front and Riverside best rooms.

The staff at the red jacket could not be nicer. The grounds of the hotel are lovely with beautiful views. The pools need updating , the indoor pool needs better air conditioning as we found it impossible to to stay in there. The one thing I would suggest is a gym with more machines and in a differnt location. The restraunt service needs to be a little […] quicker with more staff. All employees at the hotel, from the staff at the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the beachside bartender went out of their way to make our stay a happy one! And you can't beat having the beach right outside your door!

The hotel was okay, but doesn't stand out. The best I can say is that our stay was average. The service was slow by the pool and at the restaurant. The next time we go to the Cape, I'll look around at other hotels and will only choose this one if the rate is unbeatable.

This is my second year in a row going to the Red Jacket. It is a great hotel for kids. The three pools are terrific and being right on the beach is great. The zero entry pool is perfect for toddlers and babies. A few drawbacks are luxury hotel prices but a not so luxury room. You are paying for the location and the pools here not the room. The room […] is adequate and the balcony was great but the room needs some updating (hello, nobody uses VCRs anymore). The beach is also great for young kids because it does not have big waves and there are lots of shells and crabs etc. Mehr

I would recommend a riverside room. The view is better and it's less expensive than the ocean front room. The resort offers indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, outdoor and indoor restaurants, a small pub, organized kids activities, a spa, kayaking, jet skiing and parasailing, all on the premises. The last 4 activities cost extra, but it is nice to have […] them available. The town of Yarmouth offers a lot for families, with mini golf, bowling, driving range, arcades, go karts, movies, indoor rock climbing, paintball and laser tag. All are within a short ride of this resort. My only 2 complaint are that our shower curtain was slimy when we checked in, indicating that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. And a toe polish change in the spa cost $47. They called it a Express Pedicure, but it was just a polish change. This is not truth in advertising. And it's very expensive for just a polish change. I would definitely recommend this hotel Mehr

The room was an oceanfron with direct access to the private beach - can't get any better than that. Room was spacious and well maintained.
