Ramada Carlsbad by the Sea - Carlsbad

Wir (2 Erw + 1 Kind) waren im July 2009 im Legoland und hatten uns diese Hotel ausgesucht. Was soll man sagen: Dicht am Legoland, dicht zum Strand und dicht am Highway. Pool groß und lange geöffnet. Super Frühstück. Zimmer ok - Personal nett. Legolandkarten vergünstig an der Rezeption bekommen.

We always stay here when in Calrsbad, and are never dissapointed. A good, clean hotel for families on a budget.

I loved staying here! Very clean and service was very good. I definitely would stay here again!

This hotel has been remodeled since last year when we were there, but more needs to be done. It's age is showing.Waited 1.5 hrs. for extra towels, then had to call again. Pool & spa hours have been cut from 10 to 9, but nothing on line or at the hotel informs you of that. Very disappointing! Also on line description of breakfast is eggs & biscuits & […] gravy. No such thing. Coffee cake & coffee. Again, no change in description on line. Good location. 1.5 mi. from Legoland. Mehr

Beds were very small, room had a bad layout. Breakfast room too small for the number of guests. Staff was friendly, but hotel was not the quality I had expected.

The hotel's location is great! Just a few minutes drive from Legoland which is great after a long day at the park! The staff was very helpful looking up directions to the closest Walmart (since we needed to get some swimshorts and other things)! I traveled with my 2 sons and they both had a great time at the pool and the hot tub! The breakfast buffet […] was also well-stocked with beggels, cereal, drinks, muffins, and other pastries. No hot water, (warm). Room towels had lipstick on them. They ran out of pool towels. Then you had to sign for the pool towels once they washed more. Noisy, close to freeway.

Good 5 freeway access. If your room faces freeway (like ours), it will be a little noisy. Breakfast room is very small and crowded. Wi-fi signal strength in our room was poor, but good in the lobby. Front desk staff was helpful.

The hotel was perfect for us. We had a suite which gave us room. Would have liked a couple more chairs for the table. the pull out couch bed was not that comfortable but the bed were fine. We were on the end downstairs and faced the beautiful pool and hot tub. the landscaping is beautiful. Did hear noise from the freeway but not bad. We enjoyed our […] stay. Great place to stay for Legoland. Decent breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay! Beds were comfortable, showers were hot and breakfast was better than expected:)! It was nice to have a living room/ bedroom with a closing door and 2 televisions. The beach is 5 minutes away. We will definitely be staying again!

Walked into my room and it smelled like someone puked in there. I called the desk and they switched the room for me. The guy was a little reluctant to change it If it needed to be cleaned from me making a mess. Once I told him that I hadn't messed the beds or done anything, he said ok. other then that, it was ok at best.

We would not stay at this hotel again, or try a Ramada. There was a leaking pipe in the bathroom upstairs which resulted in dripping dirty water on my daughter-in-law during her shower. That pretty much clinched our hotel stay and we headed home. The good part was the one bedroom suite with a fold out had two separate rooms and we could close the door […] between me and the family. When I discovered the rating was 2.5 stars and called to inquire why, I was told it was due to renovation, but had to call back at another time for a manager. Same happened with the leak. There seems to be managers on staff only during the 8-5 work day. Try somewhere else. Mehr

I loved it was close to Lego land and a lot of places to eat. As well as up the street from a Raplhs and rite aide.

My friend and I enjoyed having the extra space along with the separate room for the beds..gave us an opportunity to talk and let the kids sleep. Very convenient!! Plus the heated pool and spa were a nice bonus along with the free breakfast! The only issue, wich is a big issue, is there was NO hot water!!! We tried all different times of the day and […] night and ony made it through one warm shower. Maintenance checked it out and made a modification....and they advised to turn on the bathroom sink hot water to get it circulating to the shower. Really?? They were booked those nights, however, a hotel should be well equiped to handle the hot water needs of it's guests. Otherwise...a great trip!! Mehr

Nothing special, but gets the job done for a trip to Legoland. 2 stars, maybe 2 1/2 at best.

Close to Legoland. Very spacious room and breakfast okay. Kids loved the waffles!

The breakfast area was VERY crowded, and hard to even reach the toaster and waffle irons (the part that made the breakfast "hot"). We had a queen suite with a sleeper sofa and kitchen. small room..but clean.Great location and service was great too.

The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They even opened the breakfast area at night so I could get milk for my 1 year old. My daughter also got sick during our stay and the hotel maids were very helpful and did not complain about having to clean baby puke. We had 5 women and a baby in a double bed suite and had plenty of room. Only […] complaint is that thebhot breakfast is really only waffles not Bacon and eggs or sausage or anything. It was very clean, quiet and liked the environment and surrounding. Breakfast was good and everyone very nice.

We were on the third floor and it was ALWAYS noisy so I would recommend a lower floor or get a room away from the hiway. Otherwise a clean hotel with decent amenities.

This hotel met our basic needs, but nothing more. My biggest complaint: The freeway noise from inside our room was really bad...the doors and windows were not sealed at all, and it was very loud. We could also hear everyone in the courtyard by the pool from inside our room. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. The proximity to Legoland and […] the beach was wonderful...never more than 5 or 10 minutes in the car. When I read about the Ramada in Carlsbad, I thought it sounded good. But part of the discription was misleading... there was NO eggs at the buffet. Price is also over priced for the queen suite with sleeper sofa. Most hotels would have extra pillows and blankets for the sofa, and this place didn't. I only recommend this place if you are swinging by […] for a one night stay. Or for business. Only great thing was the waffles, those tasted so good. Mehr

The service is good, when we wanted to change room, we were given a room that felt comfortable and clean. Breakfast is just fine and you will appreciate the staff in the cafeteria, they are kind and attentive to your needs.

Nice Hotel. Good Breakfast, and the hot tub was warm, and the pool was not cold. So we went swimming in February. Will stay again if the opportunity arises

Nothing special, but for the money it was great.

Staff were very accommodating when we discovered that the room we reserved by phone was not up to par couch was broken old and very dirty ,th queen suite was not a queen bed but a full bed. Staff stepped up and we treated room to two double beds couch was in better shape we covered it with a sheet. Hopefully rmada inn will upgrade their fuerniture.

We did not like our stay at this Inn. The TV did not work, the heater was missing a knob to be able to control it and the room smelled bad like cleaning products covering up cigarette smoke. The 5 freeway is right next to it which is very noisey. The beach is only 1/2 mile away and they did have a decent free breakfast.

Location was great for Legoland

Good price! Shower temp was very unpredictable, just a place to sleep but not spend a lot of time there! The breakfast was average, location was great for where I needed to go!

Nice fitness center (treadmill is bouncy and easy on knees), heated swimming pool, better than simple continental breakfast, helpful staff, comfortable bed, dark curtains, very reasonable price. Have stayed here before and will do so again

good deal for the money. breakfast is good. the room is a bit small but cleam and the safe can accept a laptop and camera without any problem. the scond night the outer door handle broke. they did not have a maintenence guy so the gave me a screwdriver to open the door :> fortunatly it was the end of the day and the handle was refixed the next day. […] one point - bad public transportation. but if you get there with your car - great deal for the money. Overall, I think this hotel is a good place to stay if you only need a place to have a good night sleep. It's very spacious, even though it's a little bit old but it's clean. My kids enjoyed staying over there.

Near or at a 4 star rating for 2 star cost. Staff will go far beyond their obligations to help guests and quality of rooms and site is excellent. Would rcomend to anyone as very good value and safe place to stay.

fount desk employees on pm shift were rude and not very helpful. maids very nice checking every day. maria at continental breakfast does a great job.

The hotel was good for our needs. We stayed five days. The jacuzzi was way below par. One day the water was freezing. The maid staff did not speak english so they mostly directed you to the front desk. The location was great. clos to the ocean and close to the COASTER train. close to some of the best resturants and a great mall. For the price not a […] bad stay though. Mehr

The hotel rooms were nice and roomy with plenty of room but the breakfast is not as described at all. There was only continental breakfast with fresh made waffles. Not a true hot breakfast as described in the description.
