The Westin Buckhead - Atlanta

We come back to Buckhead every year. We stay at the Westin as we love The Palm restaurant. I rate the Westin a 3 out of 5. Walls are paper thin and we were woken up at 3 am with guests yelling at each other in next room. Bathrooms seem dated too. It is opposite the Lennox Mall which helps too. Vanity inside the bathroom! Toilet to the left and bathtub/shower to the right! No FAN! Yes, picture how the mirror fogged... Vanity shelf very narrow, hair brush kept falling down! Nice full size mirror on hallway, but DARK & not an outlet to plug hair dryer, curling iron, etc. Vanity shelf very narrow, hair brush kept falling down! Should have listened to the majority of the reviews that I read which recommended against staying here. The location of the hotel is very convenient but it didn't make up for the general mayhem we experienced the night we stayed there (which was admittedly, New Years Eve). Also, as a prior reviewer warned, the fire alarm went off the next morning. Luckily […] I heard someone in the hall say that we didn't need to leave our rooms. We chose this hotel because it had an indoor pool. The pool was closed for renovation. They said we could take a shuttle to the Ritz and use their pool. After waiting 30 minutes for a shuttle, we gave up.

Don't stay here. Very outdated and unclean compared to Westin standards. Room extremely hot one minute, freezing the next. They were working on the fitness center one floor above us all day. Drills, hammering, etc. Service relatively decent; waitstaff friendly and helpful. Besides maybe visiting the bar, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Hotel in this area for the rate is out dated. Needs a remodel job

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was great. The only issue that we and some other customers checking in next door to us had was our room keys didn't work and we had to go down to the lobby to get it corrected. Very lovely hotel!

We had a wonderful time. It was my now fiancé birthday and enjoyed every aspect of the Westin at Buckhead. From the extremely friendly staff the comfort of the room and the convenience of the restaurants and Lenox mall all with in walking distance.

I love that heavenly bed! The only downside were the pillows were too soft and the room was a little too warm. Other than that, it was great!

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday because the Palm Restaurant is located at the Westin Buckhead. The stay was 100% perfect, we enjoyed every minute, the rooms were clean and quiet, no noisy neighbors or thin walls. The water pressure was decent, the towels were fresh and clean, the hotel shampoo was amazing! All in all it was a great time and […] worth every penny! Mehr

My friends stayed at the Ritz Carlton across the street for $220 MORE a night. My room was just as nice and comfortable and big as theirs.

My overall stay was great! Room service was fast and the food was delicious - I had the salmon! Through my booking, I had free self parking which was NECESSARY as it is ridiculously expensive otherwise. I have stayed at the W (which is 2 doors away) and I think that the W has a better overall scene - i.e. pool, Whiskey Blue, etc. I had a great time […] at the Westin but will probably stay at the W next time! Hotel has great location but in need of renovation to update to current travel needs. (Example- large bathroom but only pedestal sink with no counter space, and thin walls so you can hear neighbors fighting...all night long) Close to Lennox shopping and was overall nice but too many other hotels to choose from in the area.

This is a great hotel for the price! Very nice, very clean and fancy.

Conveniently close to everything you need...shopping, restaurants, Marta station, etc! Perfect for an overnight stay just to get closer to the city and have a night away from suburbia. My only recommendation is to NOT park in the lot next door "the Shops at Lenox Square". They booted my car while I was checking in ( at no fault of the hotel). The West Buckhead fit our needs perfectly. The only negatives that I have are: 1)the air conditioner didn't work very well in our room(still 76 degrees at midnight) and we were on the 5th 2)the non-smoking room didn't smell like a non smoking room. The room had definitely been smoked in! Other than those 2 complaints the Hotel and the staff were wonderful!! […] I would definitely stay here again!! Mehr

Although the Westin bed is enough to get me to pick it over others, this hotel is highly outdated. There was literally a 15 year old Sony clock radio, a rotary dial pink [vintage, circa 1970 phone], and they charged $2.00 when the Concierge connected me to a limo service.

The location of this hotel is good and so are the common areas of the hotel. The rooms are nice but the walls are pretty thin and the bathroom seems pretty dated. The toilet and shower seemed pretty old and the towel rack was almost falling off the wall. They had a new sink in the bathroom but it was not installed right was was shaky and leaked water […] all over the floor. Lastly, the valet charge or self parking charge was a bit of a rip off. Overall the hotel was worth what I paid but I did get a good deal, I wouldn't stay here at full price. Mehr

Have stayed here for work and now pleasure. Always very comfortable. Friendly staff eager to help and offer directions or assistance. Enjoy!

Overall I was satisfied with this hotel.

Friendly front desk staff that graciously helped with restaurant selection in the area the night of our stay, very clean and comfortable room. Only negative was $20 self park. Other than that, this is a great hotel.

This is a great hotel in a very convenient location. Only negative is the valet service and bellmen services. Finally brought our bags down ourselves and the valet was very slow.

I was at the hotel for a conference and I found everything from check in to check out to go smoothly without any hitches or conflicts. The staff was uniformly friendly and patient, answering questions easily and responsive to any requests. The room was comfortable and spacious and the food at the restaurant was very good. I selected this hotel after a lot of online research because of it's location in Buckhead (walking distance to Leonx Mall, movie theater, our favorite resturaunt) and because it had an indoor pool. Unfortunately, when we arrived the pool was empty, so that was a big bummer. We felt like we had the entire hotel to ourselves, and we found out later that […] we actually did! At Christmas, they only run about 10% of capacity, so that's when the do a lot of maintenance on the hotel like painting the pool, resurfacing the parking lot entrance, etc. Great view and location, the hotel staff comped us some dessert via room service one night, the courtesy shuttle driver was very friendly and was happy to take us where we wanted to go (within 2 miles), and the room was great. A few negatives... Our TV didn't work when we arrived, but they came and fixed that. No snacks or drinks in the mini bar, and no vending machines on property. The air unit was a little louder than I personally would have liked, but we got used to it. Parking, like all of the hotels in buckhead, is outrageous. $20 for self parking, $30 for valet. Bottom line is that we paid a little extra for the Westin over the Marriott we stayed at on our last trip to Buckhead, but the main reason was for the indoor pool and the location... The pool wasn't really their fault, but still put a damper on the experience. Customer service was better than the Marriott, and the bed was much more comfortable. Mehr

I booked this hotel next to Lenox and Phipps because I took my daughter to Atlanta to shop for her birthday. Great location. We walked to Phipps to a late movie, then back to the hotel about midnight to sleep... or rather try to. We were located right next door to the laundry which ran all night starting about 2 am. Ka-thump.... ka-thump... ka-thump […] ALL NIGHT LONG! I slept maybe 30 minutes. I was so tired the next morning that we checked out and went home... ruining my daughter's entire birthday. Mehr

This is a great location, and a real hot-spot of a hotel. My only issue was that the room's carpet was stained pretty badly, and there was a bit of a musty smell as if a wet rug had soured a little. Only other complaint would be the water pressure in the shower. Otherwise, a great spot and I would certainly stay here again, and again.

Overpriced food. $60 for 3 people for a cold basically continental breakfast with a cocky waiter and an even cockier chef. Asked for eggs over medium and when they arrived were over easy. Acted as if we put them out because we asked for something not on the buffet line. Way overpriced parking too.... It's Atlanta... not New York..... I'll never stay […] there again..... Mehr

I cannot say more about the pleasure of staying at the Westin in Buckhead. The service from the Valet to the room was outstanding. The employees are very attentive to the needs of guest and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is pleasurable. Not to mention, the Heavenly Bedding was essential to a good nights sleep.

This hotel had a fabulously comfortable bed. The coffee maker was not so great - it made one cup at the time and they only gave one caffinated and one decafe. They told you other packets were available in the minibar, but........ they don't stock those anymore. The front desk clerk said you could always call down for more, but if two are in the room […] why not just put two packets per person out??? Staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again. The hotel itself was nice, and pretty clean. Everything was within walking distance. Big nice shower with dual showerhead was nice. However: Parking fee per day was astronomical Room was pretty small and nothing to be wowed about. Front desk personel were rude and short. No one was very helpful when asked questions. Hotel is located directly across the street from the Lenox Square. Really convenient to Buckhead locations. One thing that did happen was we wanted to take a short cab ride of 3 miles. The taxi driver "forgot" to start the meter and just estimated the value. We were not thrilled about that but nothing we could do. Be aware of taxi scams.

This hotel appeared to be modern and nice in the pictures. We walked in our deluxe king room to find an awful smell that lingered during our whole stay. The room looked nice at first. I opened the cabinet to find a fridge that was covered in dust. There was a greasy hand print on the wall that I even tried cleaning with a towel and soap because it was […] disgusting me so much. The bathroom was small and not very efficient, there was not a fan so the mirror was totally foggy when I was getting ready. Speaking of getting ready, the pedestal sink looks nice and all but there is nowhere to put your stuff, no counter top for my blow dryer, makeup, toothpaste, anything. We also had an issue with the neighbor next door that the hotel staff did not deal with very well. They did not offer to move our room or anything. I would not return to this hotel ever again. Mehr

I felt a hotel of this quality could have offered more for the money, specifically I thought charging for wifi internet and parking for hotel geusts was extraneous and annoying. The room was expensive enough, and to have had to pay for these other seemingly incidental services was a slap in the face.
