Room was comfortable. Reasonable price and size for Japan. Convenient location. Possible to get to and from Shimbashi station without getting wet. Service was friendly and comprehensive. They did try to send us to Tsukiji market at 4am on a day that it was closed. Great that they provide a router for free to get wireless. The location is excellent, being 10 mins' walk from Ginza and 5 mins walk to Shimbashi Station. The breakfast is over priced but typical of hotel prices. There are a number of places near Shimbashi with cafe's or kiosks selling breakfast items.

Having stayed at the Da Ichi at Shimbashi last year, we assumed the Annex would be as nice. We were very surprised to find a much different experience compared to the main hotel. Cleanliness of the room was certainly an issue. The heat on constantly making the room much too warm in the evening another.

The hotel is a short walk from the shinkasen trip from kyoto and the location is fantastic. If you don't want to walk anywhere, you are positioned so close to the subway and JR lines so you have easy access to all of tokyo fom here. The staff are extremely helpful in helping you locate places to go. We did have an issue with bedding to start with, but […] they went out of their way to fix it up, it was amazing. I would definetly stay here again, it is designed for business travelers, and we didn't have any meals here. But down around the corner is a lawson where you can get the basics you want to have some snacks and drinks in your room. Mehr

Easy access to subway and in walking distance to many interesting places. Would use the same place again for business and pleasure.

Very, very, very helpful staff. Very close to restaurants, metro/railway and shopping in Ginza. At first you think they don't have wi-fi in the rooms but they give your own little mini-router which once installed (you might need help from the super-friendly staff) works perfectly. Swimming pool is not free - shared with main hotel but you get a good […] deal for accessing the aquatic and fitness centre. Can recommend airport limousine (bus) which goes from the hotel direct to Narita airport - great if you have a lot of luggage. Mehr

I booked the hotel based on a Hotels.com review, which was right on the mark. The hotel is next door to the Daichi hotel, but cheaper - the rooms and service are the same. The airport bus drops you off on the road between the 2 versions of the hotel. Location is excellent. 5 min walk to the Ginza, restaurants all over the place.

First stay here. Very price-worthy for such a good location. This was my 70:th trip to Tokyo and have stayed in the Ginza area more than one year together. The amenities at the Main Dai Ichi building 100 feet away are very good. Rooms in the Annex are fairly small but comfortable even for my 6 foot frame. Well priced excellent location. Staff extremely helpful and speak English. Service impeccable whether checking in, booking tours or giving sightseeing and shopping information they were very knowledgeable and helpful. Facilities of Dai Ichi Hotel next door are accessible for guests at the Annex.

Very near from the Shinbashi Station. And also, near to Ginza where most valuable department stores and famous restaurants.

I was very satisfied with how central this hotel is. Moreover the quality of the service, cleanliness of the room made it a very comfortable stay. I would highly recommend Annex Dai Ichi Hotel for a comfortable, convenient and relaxing stay.

Reasonably central location, walking distance to Ginza and plenty of restaurants nearby. Helpful staff and clean, reasonably sized and well appointed rooms. Narita Express available from the main Dai Ichi hotel next door and staff will help transport luggage over . We will definitely consider staying here again

My experience at this hotel was great. The room was clean and well furnished. The staff were very kind and helpful. The automated toilet is a standard thing in Japan, but I was still very impressed with the one at my hotel room. There is a "secret" passage to the Shimbashi JR at the main Dai-Ichi hotel next door. I did not try the hotel restaurant, […] but just walk under the rail bridge and there is a block full of restaurants most of them at reasonable prices. The TV channels are mostly in Japanese, but there are a few English channels. Just hit the "sound" button to turn off the Japanese voice over to hear the English. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was that they charged me for local phone calls made at the hotel room. It wasn't a big deal, but usually hotels offer free domestic calls: maybe this is a Japan thing. Overall, a very good hotel. Mehr

Though the lobby and room condition do not impress, the rooms are big by Japan's standards. The location is pretty good- it is 2mins walk to JR Shimbashi, which is 2 stops from the Tokyo station, where you will take the Shinkansen to other prefectures. Being near to Ginza and hence many eateries are a plus.

I must say this hotel was one of the best hotels I've stayed at. So typically, it has the clean room service, internet, television but what I was most satisfied with was the customer service. First, the people at the front desk has sound English so it was not hard to communicate with them if you want to know where to go. If you ever check in early, […] they will agree to mind your luggage (no matter how heavy they are) for safe-keeping while you explore Ginza and the nearby shopping districts. Yet, It wasn't even the front desk service that impressed me. During my stay there, I was going to check out when I unfortunately had a bad case of the flu. At that time, I had already checked out about an hour ago so I wasn't so sure what to do. I felt terribly sick so I went back to the hotel and generously, they offered me my room back for another half a day free of charge. Afterward, I felt a whole heap better and feel most grateful towards the hotel staff members for letting me stay an extra few hours. Other good pointers I would like to say are that: It is smack bang in the middle of all the good shopping areas including the designer brand street, arcades and restaurants. The train station is also only a 5min walk away! Very convenient place indeed and the price rate is well and reasonable :) Mehr

Stayed for four nights at the Da Ichi Hotel Annex, and I can safely say this was the best hotel I stayed at out of four in Japan. The room was large for Tokyo's standards, and offered very good amenities. All staff spoke English, and were extremely helpful in making restaurant reservations and offering directions. The room was quiet, too - no noise […] from the JR train line outside leaked through into the room. The hotel appeared to be located in a business district, which meant it was quieter on weekends. The area still offered a selection of restaurants, and was located about a 10 minute walk from Ginza's main shopping district. Mehr

Excellent location in Tokyo. It's near the train station and walking distance to the fish market. It's great if you intend to get up at 4AM to catch the tuna auction.

It's a clean hotel, very conveniently located, in a safe neighborhood. The room was very nice. The personal was very helpful.

Great hotel, wonderful staff, perfect location.

Better than expected, room was much more spacious and comfortable than other similar priced hotels in Tokyo. Clean room and nice amenities. Very easily reached by Main Tokyo train station, via subway or JR metro to Shinbashi station. Very quiet despite being right next to the tracks.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The location is great, it is very near Ginza, stations etc. with a very nice walking distance. The bed is very good and I like the two pillows provided without having to ask for an extra pillow. I will go back and stay there again next time.

Close to major rail/subway station and shopping

The hotel in an excellent location. It's near lots of restaurants and very near the Ginza area. The train station is very close as well and get to just about anything.

Nice, clean room, free internet and all the usual amenities. A nice and economical alternative to the main Dai Ichi hotel next to it, which is more expensive. The hotel is only a short walk from all of the major shopping in the Ginza district. Staff speaks English very well, and have a good working knowledge of the area. The Dai Ichi Annex was a fantastic hotel. It was very near multiple subway lines, and only 1000 yen taxi drive from Tokyo station where you would get on or off the shinkansen. There is a bus that goes from the hotel to the airport for about 3000 yen. The staff were extremely helpful, and the room was very comfortable and included internet access. this is the worst hotel I stayed at in all of japan. bad service, bad attitude, disgusting and tiny rooms, where everything is broken. there are tons of places to stay in tokyo that cost much less for better quality. they seem to go out of their way to make your stay unpleasant.

Incompetant, can't -be-bothered attitude. Told a business aquaintance that called that I had checked out, causing no end of problems. When confronted with this when I did actually check out, they would not admit any wrongdoing, and no apologies were offered. Rooms and facilities are unacceptable for the price paid.

Staff is generally cold, unfriendly, unsmiling and unhelpful. rooms are tiny and dimly lit with black scuff marks on the walls. bathrooms are filthy with hair from previous guests in the corners, lighting fixtures were falling off the walls. When I asked the concierge to make a reservation, he at first refused, but reluctantly picked up the phone where, […] assuming I could not understand japanese, I heard him use a racial slur with the party on the other end. Tellingly, when we turned up for the reservation we received such bad service that we had to walk out. Mehr

The hotel staff speaks excellent English and is quite accommodating. The concierge assisted with booking tours and arranging transportation, making staying here a breeze. The location is convenient to Japan Rail, and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. The room and hotel overall was without any fault. This Hotel is right in the heart of a business district on a JR Line. It is easy to get to from Narita (we took the N'EX) and even has a long underground tunnel to the train station across the street. THere lots of cheap places to eat and drink nearby as the office workers want to grab a bite to eat before they get on the train or drink away the thoughts […] of the day at work (or their wives!) We brought gifts for friends, and TSA and opened the boxes when we left the US, but the very friendly guest services lady was able to re-wrap them for us. She was outstanding. The roomsat the Dai Ichi Hotel ANNEX where small but wonderfully cozy. We stayed on the 5th floor, and it was a non-smoking floor. Other reviews complained of smoke smells, but we did not experience this at all. Everything was clean and orderly. Mehr

Superb value, near to major subway and train station (Shimbashi Station), direct bus to/from airport, wide selection of restaurants nearby. I've been to Japan over 100x over 25 years and always service, cleanliness is par for the course. the Annex rooms are a bit small, but fine and well-appointed if you don't need a fancy lobby or other hotel amenities. […] The option is to pay a bit more and stay in the main building, bigger rooms, bar, etc. If you pay extra to have breakfast buffet included, it's only average in my opinion. If you are looking for a more affordable hotel with 5+ star service look no further. Great little hotel in a great location. However, the rooms are on the smaller side, which is to be expected in Tokyo downtown. If you like it more quiet ask for a room in the back of the hotel.

The room is larger than most at this price. The location is terrific with lots of restaurants and easy access to the subway and train lines. The staff are extremely helpful and speak very good English.

手頃な宿泊費で、劇場の近くだったので便利でした。チェックイン前に荷物を預けて夜チェックインしたときには、部屋に荷物を入れてくださっていたので嬉しかったです。またあまり暇がなかったので、ゆっくり見られなかったのですが、スカイステージチャンネルが視聴できるというのも良かったです。あとドライヤーですが、スイッチをずっと押していないと使えないのは女性にとっては使い勝手が良くないです。

La posizione è estremamente comoda perchè a piedi si può arrivare nella via principale di Ginza, alla stazione del treno e alla metro (linea principale). il personale è estremamente disponibile. le camere sono un po' piccole ma hanno tutti i comfort. si sente un po' il treno che passa difronte ma lo stesso vale per il dai-ichi hotel. intorno all'albergo […] ci sono molti ristoranti.
