Grosvenor Suites - San Francisco

Großes Zimmer im 19. Stock, sauber und ordentlich mit Küchenecke. Toller Blick über die Stadt. Frühstück war recht karg und süß, typisch amerikanisch und Frühstücksraum war recht klein, aber es gab trotzdem keine Wartezeit. In der Nähe liegt Chinatown und die Powellstreet, alles gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Also alles in allem ok.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen, 2 Min. von der Cable Car entfernt! Personal ist freundlich. Die Zimmer sind etwas abgelebt, aber sauber und die Junior Suite ( besser noch Corner- Suite) ist gerämig mit einer tollen Aussicht auf San Francisco! Das Frühstückbuffet ist nicht sehr vielfältig, aber ausreichend! Im Frühstücksraum hat es definitiv zu wenig […] Tische, sodass wir unser Frühstück in unser Zimmer hochnahmen! Daher Suite empfehlenswert, da dort ein Tisch und Stühle vorhanden sind! Mehr

The customer service was great and the location was great, but the room was old, the heater didn't work and in fact was nearly falling off the wall. One of the lights in the room didn't work. It's an older hotel like many in SF, but they need to do some upgrading.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast rather poor, wi-fi mostly working. All in all, this is a very good buy and extremely comfortable

I stayed at the above hotel very recently for 7 nights. I was confortable there as the location is close to public transportation routes - street car etc. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean and the amenities were well maintained. That week was cold in the city and the room was chilly - I had to place a towel under […] the door to keep the cold air out. Friends who stayed in other rooms on the 10th and 13th floors complained to no end about the coldness at nighttime. The cost for room accommodation could have been lower. The continental breakfast was basically met. Had no herb teas. Mehr

I was generally satisfied. although I thought that it would have been better if the TV was view-able from the bed. Also, i thought they could do better comforter wise; it was identical to what i used when i was in college (cheap and low quality). Other than that; i'd say that i was pleased.

hope they can put larger table in the room, maybe two table. My suites only has a small round table

Nicer cheaper and just as convenient hotels located in fishermans wharf. Secondly when I pointed out to manager that carpets not vaccumed for some time all he did was give me a comment card to fill in. If I was staying in San Fran as a tourist I would definitely stay else where around fishermans wharf.

I requested this hotel since it was in the perfect location for my recent business trip in San Francisco. Unfortunately, the staff was on the verge of incompetent, the internet connection was horrendous, and the room itself was dirty and unkempt. Moreover, the there is NO AIR CONDITIONING, which in San Francisco is fine save the few days when it is […] 75 or 80 degrees! I was given a fan which didn't work, which was perfectly in line with the other appliances in the unit. Save yourself the frustration of trying to explain WHY you are dissatisfied with the room to a front desk attendant that would rather be texting and will certainly not listen to you. Great location, awesome customer service. Parking is $35 a day but much better than getting your car towed. They do allow you to park in their lot for 2 hours. Or you can park in front in the loading zone for up to 30 minutes. At least that is what I was told. We stayed in room 106 and would stay there again. It was a junior one bedroom suite. Great location, close to transport routes and in a safe nice area. Large clean rooms - back and side rooms have a brilliant view. Free breakfast of cereal, fruit, bagels and pastries with juices tea and coffe. Also free wifi. Great value. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is very central to all the neighborhoods you want to see on your trip! (chinatown, nob hill, etc). The Powell st cable car lines are just a block away. The hotel was very nice, however there is no a/c, and heat is centrally controlled. We had to open the window a few times to cool the room down. Great location, within walking distance of trams and city centre. Rooms extremely comfortable and very clean. Staff were really helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

I'll use this place again for short stays in San Fran. Really loved the location up above the fray of Union Square. Nice sized room, great to have the kitchenette, and everything seemed to work fine. Feels a little dowdy but I don't go to hotels for the interior design.

A great location near cable cars and easy access to downtown attractions. Didn't use the kitchenette, but if I was staying longer definately would. Bathroom was small, clean, and functional. Decor is quite dated, but tasteful for its day. The room and hallways were quite clean. The only alarming thing was that there wasn't a mattress cover, just a […] big piece of unsecured thick felt that didn't cover the whole mattress. When the felt moved while getting ready for bed, a large rusty looking stain was revealed. That bad memory has stuck with me. Checking in and out was easy. Breakfast was no frills: cereal, bagels, danishes, fruits. Loved that Huntington Square is right up the hill. Don't hate me, but I found street parking right in front of the hotel on the first try AND it was pouring down rain. But, parking in that 'hood is tight, so paying for the hotel's garage is probably the best thing to do. Mehr

This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff but if I was going to stay in SF again I would not stay in such a hilly region. (However, a younger person would not worry about this at all!) However, […] most USA hotels don't provide a kettle of any sort so one must count one's blessings. The laundry is really good and the complimentary computers and printers are excellent. We've stayed at Grosvenor Suites before. It is well maintained and the beds are comfortable. The continental breakfast is very good - local rolls and muffins from a good bakery. The wifi is free and fast. The suite format means you have kitchen facilities in your room which is great for an extended stay (we were there 8 days). Cannot beat the Nob Hill […] location. Only issues are oldish TV's (no flat screens), and in summer, no air conditioning. However, unless you get really unusual weather AC is not needed. This is on of our favorite hotels in San Francisco. The actual hotel was ok. The price was great. Location was good. Our room was a very good size, 2 queen beds, a pull-out sofa, and kitchen. All of the that was great. Bathroom was a bit small, but doable, however no fan in the bathroom, I don't understand why? Walls were very thin, and the neighbors were very loud. The door to our room for some reason […] had a big gap at the bottom, making noise travel straight to the beds. This also means there was a draft. Which also means we could smell everything that was going on in the hallway, or adjacent rooms. We were in a non-smoking room, on a non-smoking floor. Yet on our last nights stay, the room next door, was having a wild party, with lots of smoking, lets just say it wasn't exactly cigarettes. The smell was overwhelming, which made my wife and kids very uncomfortable. Everyone had a hard time sleeping, we could hear every single word, everyone said next door, it was horrible, especially since the language was filthy, and my 2 young boys were trying to sleep. We seriously considered leaving that night. The noise and smoking continued all night. My wife says she slept only a couple of hours because of it. Breakfast wasn't bad at all, except for the moldy bagel I got, had to go back for a new one. Breakfast area was tiny, and really hot. Mehr

What we like the most is spacious room, very good for a family with small children like us. Kitchenette comes in handy as well. In addition, hotel location is quite strategic with Union Square and China town within a walking distance.

The room was neatly arranged and the accomodations were okay for an individual to spend time in their room. The room Decor looked good but the carpet needed to be changed out. It seems to be old an a little musty. Otherwise, I would recommend staying there again.

I booked this hotel because of a great stay last year but it was disappointing. This hotel is so tired - and so are the staff it would seem. Water rushing through the ceiling, hairs in the bed, scratch marks on the walls and very dated appliances are just some of the reasons why I won't be renewing my acquaintance with the grumpy front desk. Really good location and very nice front desk. Roll out bed was comfy. Breakfast was free and nice. No hot food, but we didn't mind that.

The hotel is very old. Needs updating. He wouldn't take his family there, but for a one-night business trip it was okay. Clean and good location. People were very friendly.

We stayed at Grosvenor Suites early May 2011. We really enjoyed our stay and found it of great value for money. We would definitely stay again next time when we are in San Francisco or recommend to our friends who intend to visit SF. Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of amenities should I want to cook with stove, dishes, pans, etc. Bathroom was small but worked well. Room seemed to suit long term stay as it had several closets and pantry. Garage was highly inaccessible and took forever to get to room. If you check in or out with luggage, do it at front door or expect to drag […] it down long stairwells. Breakfast was very basic ( cold cereal, danish, bagel, juice dispenser, fruit ), crowded and very hot as dining room smaller than your room. Lastly, not for the elderly as you climb stairs from lobby just to reach elevators, and room door self closers are wound so tight, it take extreme effort to open. We just stayed at the Grosvenor for three nights and it was a pleasnt stay. Great accomodations for a toddler, with the kitchenette and we got a juinior suite with a seperate bedroom area and living area. There are steep hills around the hotel but I think that is all of San Fran. It was nice to be in a good location to jump on the cable car. We were […] very close to China Town and Union Square, walking from hotel. It is outdated, but the staff was friendly. We were a little worried when we pulled up to see the late night worker outside smoking, he spit right next to our car as we got out. However, overall a great stay. Mehr

We did not cook, but very nice kitchenette setup. Large room with two walk-in closets. The only problem is slightly musty odor in closets. The staff courteous and helpful in providing tourist information. Hotel parking a bit high priced, but worth the convenience. Self park access using room key.

Great place to stay. Friendly staff, decent breakfast . The place could use a little updating but for the price, size and location you can't get a better deal. Just up from Union Sq and steps from the cable car.

I felt that the staff was incredibly helpful & the view was fantastic. The overall decor needed a huge update. the TV was antiquated on a rolling cart and the cable was patchy. The morning breakfast had stale rolls & was served in a tiny room off the elevator. The room was incredibly hot. We were told to open a window. That was scary. No screens and […] I hope you never get a jumper. One last comment was the lack of a lobby. Strange. BUT..the location was wonderful and the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Mehr

Decent location, comfortable suite, breakfast was good, and very helpful and friendly staff. Overall great value except parking was an add-on expense that was also taxed.

Very pleased with my first stay at the Grosvenor on Pine Street...truly one of San Francisco's hidden treasures. Great location....loved the neighborhood. Ryan was extremely helpful and professional at check-in and during my entire stay. Very clean and full of charm...a hotel I will come back to on my next trip.

Room should be ok for tourists, but not for a business traveler (myself). The room provided very mediocre, first floor, street facing. No A/C and leaving a window open made for a noisy exp. Asked to change my room, but was told nothing else available for my rate (price point). Will definitely consider for tourist travel, good value for money. We have just stayed in the Grosvenor Suites (Oct 2010). I must reccomend this hotel; whilst not the Hilton it served our requirements completely. The room was spacious with seperate kitchen area and sofa area for relaxing without being on top of your beds. A brilliant location just a few blocks from Union Sq; the hills take the tole on your calfs but […] the trams stop on the corner of Pine / Powell. The continental breakfast is a bonus and whilst the dining area is small it is no problem taking it back to your room to eat. Staff very polite and helpful whilst not in your face.. Mehr
