Feb. 2013Das New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel ist südlich von Waikiki-Beach, ca. 15min zu Fuss.Ideal wenn man ein Fahrzeug (Auto, Fahrrad..) hat oder gerne mal ein paar Meter läuft. Das Zimmer besteht aus mehreren Räumen und ist überdurchschnittlich gross, sehr angenehmes Bett mit extra TV. Das Bad ist vergleichsweise klein und nicht sehr schön, aber zweckmässig und sauber. Es gibt einen kleinen Shop neben dem Hotel, aber nach 22:00 muss man sich zum Waikiki-Beach bemühen, falls man noch was benötigt

Viele schreiben das die Zimmer nicht so sauber waren dies kann ich aber nicht bestättigen im Gegenteil! Kann mann bedenkenlos empfehlen! Nur 5min zu Fuß zu Strand von Waikiki. Also von mir Daumen hoch!!!!!!

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 10. Jan. 2013Das Hotel liegt genau gegenüber vom Hilton Village, wo man getrost durchlaufen und hier und da verweilen kann. Das Aqua Palms hat einen sehr kleinen Pool! Dieser wurde auch kaum genutzt, obwohl er sehr sauber war. Das Personal war immer absolut freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Fahrstuhl hängt eine Liste mit kostenlosen Veranstaltungen. Da wir aber schon viel auf unserem Plan hatten, kann ich zu der Qualität nichts sagen. Schade, dass es auf den Zimmern kein W-Lan fürs Smartphone gibt! Bisher nur in der Lobby. Abhilfe steht angeblich bereits ganz oben auf der Liste. Ab und zu klappte eine offene Verbindung auf dem Balkon. Ansonsten ist der Weg zum Strand, zum Hafen wie auch zur Ala Moana Shopping Mall alles schnell erlaufen. Empfehlenswert! Alles, was man braucht, sehr sauber, Top-Lage.

Although breakfast was not provided, coffee was provided in the morning and wine was provided in the evening in the lobby, for free. A small shop is located next to the hotel, and a supermarket is located only a few blocks away. Most important, the hotel is located not in the noisy center of Waikiki, but about five minutes to walk from there. We would recommend this hotel without any limitation.

Though obviously an older property, the Miramar was well kept and uptodate. We were extremely pleased with the service provided by Peter at the Bell Desk and even Charles (security) went out of his way assist us. Did I mention the included breakfast? The rooms are nothing like the photos posted online. Also, they conveniently do not post pictures of the bathrooms. The top couple floors have been renovated somewhat recently, and have ok rooms. (Bathrooms still out-dated and gross.) Bottom ~15 floors are awful. Dirty, stained walls. Ceiling over tub sagging in. Tub and 70's style tile is dirty. Also, […] the neighborhood is very average. Check-in was a breeze, and the hotel makes a good first impression. It's in a good location - easy walk to many restaurants and shopping, close to the beach. After arriving in the room, I was disappointed to find that the reasons I booked the room were not present in the actual room. Within a couple minutes, I went back to reception and discussed the […] issue with the front desk. The service there was superb - it took a few moments to check my booking, and the hotel had availability to move me to the room I had actually booked. No one was sure what the mix up was, but it was quickly and easily resolved. I did not go in the pool, as it is a very small and closed off area, though it did seem to be rather empty in the late morning. It did look clean and well-kept. I could see staying at this hotel again, especially knowing that the front desk is top notch and tried their best to assist. They made me feel welcome, and after the initial setback, really did strive to make things right. The level of service seems higher than similar hotels - I never had to wait here as I have at other Waikiki reception lines. The bell desk was also great - kept the luggage safe and secure after check out and before departure. Everyone was always friendly - high quality service all around. Only 2 block away from the beach and across the road from restaurant and some of the best Japanese eateries in Waikiki. The room is small but clean and comfortable. "FIND A DIFFEENT HOTEL"
This is the most consumer unfriendly hotel that I have ever stayed in!!!! We made a reservation for March 15 but because of airline flight changes, we had to add the night of March 14. When I checked in, I requested that we check in for both nights, 314 & 15. We were told that they could not do that because they were treating our reservations as two […] separate reservations in their computer. There fore, we would have to call "Room Control" between 6 and 7 AM on 3/15 to see if we could stay in our room. I called at 6:15 AM on 3/15 and I was told that we would have to vacate our room by Noon and check back in after 3PM. It is a Japanese hotel and nobody speaks clear enough English to discuss the stupidity of their position. The did offer a $60 fee option for me to keep the same room. The internet is not WiFi and it has very poor service. There is no heat in the rooms and there are no extra blankets. The room temperature dropped to 63degrees F during the night of the 15th and I froze but they didn't ruin my vacation with my grandson. There are many many better hotels adjacent to this property. "Miramar Waikiki"
The hotel is brilliantly located just a block back from the Waikiki shopping strip and the beach. Everything is within wallking distance. A lovely leisurely walk also to the Ala Moana shopping centre or the Pink line trolley takes you there in just minutes and stops across the road from the hotel. The rooms are neat and tidy and have all basic amenities. […] Pool area is on the old side and not suitable for families with children, not really child friendly. Beware of Yoko at the front desk and God help you if you need anything and she's on duty. She is remarkabley rude and unhelpful, and really took away from our experience of a good hotel stay. "I want to move to Waikiki!"
My wife would probably say that the room could use modernizing, and maybe retiling in the bathroom, and she'd probably be right. But for the money this was a great hotel in my opinion. Wonderful service and super-friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. No frills, but nothing missing. I would stay here again without hesitation.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

The hotel was clean and convenient but the rooms are small and, while some rooms have been renovated, ours certainly hadn't. The room was tatty and smelt musty. The amenities weren't impressive either. Their restaurant was overpriced and the food mediocre.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"You get what you pay for - nice lower end property"
A nice basic place to lodge. If your looking for fancy or new you need to find someplace else and expect to pay a lot more. Yes it has outdated rooms and fixtures. It's not in the best part of Waikiki but it was clean and cheap for a quick vacation. I didn't go to Hawaii to spend time in a room anyway. "Good Value Hotel in a Great Location"
Top Waikiki hotels are really expensive and some of the cheaper ones are not very good at all. The Miramar is mid priced and good value. Don't expect the Hyatt. Know that the property is 30 years old and has some rough edges but its generally clean, comfortable and has great staff. If they have availability they will give you an upgrade to a newer room […] so arrive early if you can. I reserved a room last minute on a friday night and they were very accomodating on getting me a room. Once we got there they let us check in at 11:30 a m and they also gave us a wonderful ocean view king room on the highest floor. Our room is on the 21st floor which gave us a good view of the city and part of the ocean. The room size is just right but its condition is not what I expected for the price I paid. The carpet looks old and worn out. The sliding patio door needs a hard push to lock. It shakes and creates a vibrating noise during high winds which is annoying when you're […] trying to get a sleep. Staff is great, but the facility is in a BIG need of upgrading/modernization. Carpets are old and worn, walls are chipped, ceiling had dark spots, bathroom faucets had handles that came off and shower control required considerable effort to turn off due to being worn out. The staff were fantastic and very helpful and friendly however the room was very disappointing, it was small and the showers went cold a few times during your shower. Also there is no wifi available in your room so you had to go to the lobby or level 5 and even when you were logged on it was so slow!
