Gutes Hotel, in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wallstreet , am südlichsten Ende des Broadway. Sehr nette Bedienung. Enges aber sauberes Zimmer mit zwei Kingsize-Betten.

Großes Zimmer, gute Betten. Bei Zimmern nach hinten raus kann man bei offenem Fenster schlafen. Internet fürs Zimmer zu teuer. Im Bad leichter Renovierungsstau. Frühstück im Hotelrestaurant empfehlenswert, sehr nette Bedienung. Infostand für Sightseeing im Hotel sehr gut. Karten tlw. kostenfrei. Mexik. Pub +Chinarestaurant ca. 200 m entfernt. U-Bahn ca. 400m weg.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Das Zimmer war sauber, zweckmäßig und der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. In direkter Nähe befinden sich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten (Stock Exchange, 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church) und man erreicht 3 verschiedene Subway-Stationen innerhalb weniger Gehminuten. Außerdem die Fähre nach LongIsland bzw. den Anleger für die Boote zur Freiheitsstatue und Elis Island. Da an der Wallstreet Abends/ Nachts nicht ganz so viel los ist, kann man - für NYC-Verhältnisse - relativ ruhig schlafen, v.a. im Vergleich mit der Gegend rund um den TimesSquare usw. Ein kleines, aber feines, familiengeführtes (so schien es) Hotel, dass wir auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen würden!
Lage

"Jolly Hotel Madison Tower zentral in Manhatten"
Die Lage des Hotels ist für Touristen sehr gut; Grand Central Staion und Metro sind per Fuss zuerreichen. Das gilt ebenfalls für die touristischen Attraktionen Empire Sate, Lincoln Center, Time Sqaure etc.. Durch die nahegelegene Metrostation sind auch weiter entfernte Ziele wie z.B. Wallstreet und Ground Zero sehr bequem zu erreichen. Das Hotel macht […] zunächst einen ältlichen Eindruck, bietet aber im inneren guten Komfort. Das Frühstücksbuffet zum Sonderpreis von $10.- ist ok. Leider wurde uns ein sehr kleines Zimmer zugewiesen, das kaum das Abstellen von 2 Koffern ermöglichte. Nach einem entsprechenden Hinweis wurde uns ein grösseres Zimmer angebote. Die Zimmer waren sauber; das Bad hatte zum ersten Mal auf unserer USA-Reise eine Handbrause! "Zentral im Herzen von Manhatten"
Sehr zu empfehlen: sehr sauberes Hotel mit großzügigen Zimmern, ausgestattet mit Kingzise-Betten, Badewanne, Dusche, Bügeleisen und Kaffekocher. Zu Zweit für 3 Nächte insgesamt 485.- Euro. Central Station, Metrostationen, sowie öffentliche Transferbusse zu den Flughäfen sind in der Nähe. Ebenso Supermarkt und Restaurants in unterschiedlichen Preisklassen. Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich gut, schnell befindet man sich im Zentrum. Doch trotzdem ist es nicht so laut. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und steht auch gerne bei Fragen zur Verfügung.

Ich bin geschäftlich viel unterwegs und kenne einige Hotels. Ich muss sagen, dass das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis hier nicht stimmt. Sicherlich ist NY teuer, aber ich würde zumindest bei dem reis erwarten, dass mir nicht die Handtuchhalter, Duschköpfe entgegenkommen, die Klimaanlage dröhnt wie anno dazumal und ohne Hinweis (ausser im fahrstuhl eine kleine […] Nachricht!) bei Übergabe des zimmerschlüssels, dass es Nachts aufgrund der Strassenbaustelle zu unerträglichem Lärm kommt. Wenn man sich nicht gleich beschwert, wird das ausgesessen! Finde ich wirklich unmöglich und ich denke ein gut gebuchtes Hotel wie dieses, sollte das nicht nötig haben. Mehr

The type of room we requested was not available so we were upgraded to a suite at no additional charge. The room was neat and clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and positive every time I dealt with them. I travel to NYC on a regular basis and have paid a lot more money for rooms of much lesser quality.

There is no coffee service in the mezzanine any longer, no small breakfast which used to be included in room rate, and when I needed my boarding pass, they told me to go to Staples across the street. There was no extra quilt or blanket for the bed, and one of the elevators seemed to be not [properly working as made strange noises and movements on the way up and down. Nice room. Clean. Good Location. However, you do get a hotel room to sleep and that was not possible, my husband and I slept 4 hours max because there was very loud noise in the pipes (I understand from friends that in New York this happens a lot in the winter months due to heating). This was my second time in New York and we picked this hotel because the price was in my budget. This hotel has the best location because it's 4 blocks away from Grand Central. The only thing that worried me was when I read the reviews is talked about having trouble with the air and the front desk being rude. Well, most of that is true. The night clerk […] was super and very good with checking us in and was very pleasant to work with. I wish I can say the same for the day shift. The front desk in the morning wasn't very nice and very rude and abrupt when questions were asked about receipts, directions, ect. In our room the air hardly worked at all. Thank God we are on the 12th and we could open the window and the cold air cooled of the room, but even it being in the low 40's is still would got warm. The heat worked great and you had to warm up the room it wouldn't take long. Also, our room was very, very small but if you only have two people it's really perfect. The best thing about this hotel is a great location and the bathroom was very nice. All in all, I would stay here again but I would make sure it's the winter! Mehr

I came to New York on Jan 12 of 19 days, I selected Jolly Hotel because it is closed my school. I went to NY for short course and traveling. This was a quickly booked job/ interview tomorrow kind of reservation. Fairly inexpensive for n.y. Night mgr was exceptionally polite ,personable and charming. The room seemed pleasant. Although didn't look exactly like in the pictures. Bathroom was gorgeous! Though a big minus was that the radiator didn't work! It eather blew really cold air or really hot air, so it was unpossible to sleep without eather freezing or sweating like a pig. Beds weren't as comfortable as we had hoped. Staff was friendly. Friendly enough staff, but slow to provide clothes hangers - in the end I went and got them myself. Also, the bed position had been changed so the bedside light could only be switched off by getting out of bed, stubbing toes on furniture going back to bed and getting up in the morning. I know you get what you pay for but at $300 a night, a tiny room facing the air shaft is not what I bargained for. Air shaft may be an exaggeration, but the room view of the roof with its noisy mechanical air conditioning units was not for a comfortable night. "jolly hotel stay"
everything was fine just that the parking alone within my 15hrs of stay cost me about 95 to 100usd. which i think it was very bad and cheating, so i think the hotel management need to do something about it.
"Simplicity"
This is a quiet, simple refuge in NY. Great loc by metro. Walking to tons of good stuff. I booked a reservation last minute and walked in 30 minutes afterwards. It was easy, no problem. You get what you pay for. And I feel I paid a dang good price. Easy, cool folk. Nice large bathrooms. VERY comfortable rooms for the price.

The Jolly was in a great location! I was not overly excited about the condition of the room. The blinds were all broken and we had to rig them in order to be able to shut them in the bathroom. The room is small but clean and the staff was helpful. We were happy overall with our stay.

The room was dingy, smelled particularly strangely, all of the furniture was, to be kind, worn -- even the lamps were all bent as if there had been a brawl in the room recently. I asked to change rooms and was to that I couldn't. No reason was offered or given when I asked. There was also a problem with the plumbing system that resulted in very loud banging resonating from the pipes between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. Do yourself a favor, pick another hotel. Hotel rooms were comfortable a bit smaller in size. The location was great. Easy walking distance to Grand Central Station, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and other attractions. Staff were helpful. Our stay was enjoyable and hope to return someday.

Do not book this hotel. The service is bad and the rooms extremely hot and noisy. The cleaning lady vacuum-cleaned the floors at 10am!
