Loews Regency Hotel - New York

Klasse Hotel. Bad renoviert. Sehr großes Zimmer und sehr sauber. Alle Top Sehenswürdigkeiten fussläufig erreichbar. Metro Knotenpunkt zwei Blocks entfernt. Viele gute bis top Restaurants in unmittelbarer Umgebung.

Wenn Sie dieses wunderschöne Hotel buchen, wäre es ratsam, sich nicht mit dem Touristen-Shuttle / Flughafen-Shuttle sondern mit einer Limousine vorfahren zu lassen.

Direkt in der Park Ave, einen Steinwurf entfernt vom Central Park(für Lauffreaks bestens!), "round the corner" die tollsten Geschäfte, nette kleine Speiselokale, gute preiswerte Frühstücksmöglichkeiten und auch die Subway um die Ecke.............das Hotel bietet alles, was einem den NY sehr angenehm und einfach macht. Sehr nette Rezeptionisten helfen […] in allen Lebenslagen freundlich und sehr bemüht. Es ist nicht gerade das billigste Hotel, aber es lohnt sich. Mehr

I am familiar with other Loews properties. I was very disappointed that the air conditioning never worked properly. I was extremely disappointed that I had to pay for wireless access. I was disappointed that such a known property does not provide at least a mini-fridge and microwave in each room. I was disappointed that ice service was only available […] by calling room service. I was disappointed that Loews did not include hot and/or continental breakfast. I was pleased although inconvenienced to find Starbucks coffee in the lobby only. Mehr

I have fortunately and unfortunately travelled many cities. The Lowes Regency is one the best hotels around. NYC offers many amenities and the Lowes Regency defines luxury and comfort in a city that could easily be fast and furious. Excellent service, excellent style and excellent hospitality.

Great hotel with attentive staff and great cozy library type restaurant. Only frustration was elevators were not working well, some not working and others were slow.

Hotel room very comfortable. Terrific staff. Food was extremely overpriced in library bar and dining room. I know I was on Park Avenue, but if you charge these prices, you need to have the commenserate quality. I would definity stay here again, but eat elsewhere.

This is an excellent hotel. Excellent neighborhood and greta service. This is a rare New York experience, a 5-Star hotel with no attitude, easy street access and elevators near the front door! Famous acts in the caberet and the most comfortable star-studded lounge in town. I booked it for my parents for a week at a great Hotels.com rate. My very demanding […] parents were thrilled with the large room and low-key but lively atmosphere! Excellent value relative to other Upper East Side hotels. Great Brunch also! Mehr

Been to Regency many times before. Some of their Doormen and bellmen are first rate, others are indifferent. Restaurant and bar staff are first rate. Although they went through a restoration several years ago, some of the rooms and furniture are starting to show wear signs. Their self-service business center is too small and not overly user friendly […] if you need to print documents. Whether the location is good or bad depends on where you plan to conduct most of your business. However, it's great for shoppers. Mehr

Excellent hotel

VERY GOOD

As the hotel is at 61st and Park Av, the location is amazing. The hotel is also refreshingly small and has a wonderful lobby bar. However, the bathrooms are a a bit cold (temperature), the furniture in my room was horribly scuffed and had seen better days and the bathroom counters were not quite as clean as they should be (found hair near the sink and […] the ceiling was ater stained). The room at Loews was spacious and clean. Our room was on the 6th floor, overlooking 61st Street. It was surprisingly quiet. Probably the quietest room I ever stayed in while in New York. The staff were attentive and friendly. Surrounding area was wonderful and we walked to many museums and shopping areas. Overall a great hotel.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Christmas. Very nice, comfortable, spacious and quiet rooms. Staff is welcoming and eager to fulfill needs. Library restaurant offers excellent breakfasts but very expensive. Only complaint is that bathrooms are quite small and in need of some improvements -- banged up door edges and counter fronts. Great location. Furniture in disrepair. Yet the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. For the price the hotel needs a furniture update. Staff was great though and the room being quiet was a big plus as well.

The hotel staff were exceptional. Everyone was friendly, helpful and very professional. The room was immaculate....the bed was very comfortable, especially the pillows! I've stayed in the city many times, this was my first time at the hotel but definitely won't be my last!

The doorman are aloof and not helpful. Nobody looked to help me as I got out of my town car with my luggage until I was already in the lobby. They then asked to help and I said that I could take it from here. They must be union employees with no fear of getting fired and no chance of being singled out for exceptional performance. They act like they […] could care less. This is a great first impression of a hotel. The hotel also tries to rip you off with internet service and they blame it on their vendor, like they didn't choose their vendor. First of all WIFI should be free at a 4 star hotel at these prices. First they charge you $15 a night. Then rather than that covering you for a 24 hour period as is customary, the front desk told me that it was measured from noon to noon. In other words, if you sign on at 11 AM for $15 and sign on again two hours later at 1PM you are charged again for $15. How slimey. I complained to the front desk clerk who was a cold hearted, non smiling Eastern European woman who showed me a sliver of paper that stated this policy. I showed her the printed information card on the hotel internet policy which I found on my desk in my room which supported my contention. After arguing for 5 more minutes, she reluctantly reversed the charge for the second $15 charge. Life is too short to put up with this attitude at these prices. I'm sure that the Tisch family is too smart to run a business like this. It must be their general manager trying to push profitability so he gets a bigger Christmas bonus.It could also be no training program for employees or maybe they are the aforementioned union employees who behave like they work at the DMV. The room and bath were both very small and very shabby. The bathtub sloped down so that it was dangerous. No room for a comfortable chair in the bedroom. Extremely overpriced.

The hotel is in the heart of upper eastside shopping area. Very spacious comfortable room, and we appreciated having a stall shower. Great, comfortable bed, and ny times delivered to the door daily, even Sunday.

The waiting time is more than 2 hours to get the room key. The attitude of the staff member is very rude!

Have stayed here on several occasions and always find the staff accomodating and gracious. Furniture and decor in the rooms needs a bit updating, but overall, I always enjoy this hotel and its supurb location!

My daughter and I managed to make it into Manhattan the sunday evening of Hurricane Irene. From the gracious greeting at the check in desk to our unexpected upgrade upon arrival, the hotel more than met our expectations. The bed, furnishings, bathroom were in the luxury range. Very satisfied and would return and recommend to friends.

Simply the best kept secret in New York. The best "room service" food in the city. Unsurpassed service. Huge rooms with fantastic views. We only stay at the Regency each time we travel to NYC.

My only complaint is that bathroom was very small in relation to the size of the room which was huge. I will definitively stay there again.

its an older hotel, but my room was great, very clean and had everything i needed. The best part of the hotel was the very friendly staff and great location

Excellent Hotel

I have stayed at several of the Central Park hotels in the same area, and Loews Regency was far superior in price, room size, quality, and service. Most NY standard rooms means that your hotel door hits the bed when you enter- but the Loews standard room was huge. Stay was wonderful. My only complaint would be an overzealous housekeeping staff. I kept […] the "do not disturb" sign on my door (my guest was ill and trying to rest)- and I was called twice a day (both morning and afternoon shifts) to see about cleaning the room- I asked them to stop calling and even put a "do not call" on the phone- but they left 2 messages a day. I did return on an afternoon of shopping to find a maid entering my room- when I asked why- (since I had a sign on my door) she said that she thought the room was empty and needed to check/restock the coffee machine. This was very odd due to my multiple requests to enforce a "do not disturb"- but the positives of the hotel far outweigh that experience with housekeeping. Mehr

Easy to walk or take subway to all of Manhattan. Well maintained area.

Have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and true to form I found the service wonderful, the staff courteous and polite and eager to serve. The location is convenient for my needs and the rooms are clean and well maintained. Enjoyed my stay and will return.

We were so dissapointed in the quality of the room/bathroom. Clean but old, old, old, almost shabby! Way too much money for the condition of the room. Drinks at the library $21, even more than the Oak Room! I don't mind paying good money for a top quality hotel but then I expect top quality!

Overall my stay at this hotel was a great experience. The staff were attentive, courteous and efficient as expected. However, I have to mention that the room was a bit worn out. Furniture was nicked and scratched, the wall paper was bubbled up in areas and the carpet had some small old stains. It was very clean, comfortable and in a nice location but […] overall felt kind of drab. Mehr

Being 2 adult females we needed 2 single beds in a safe area and this was perfect for us. We were glad to be away from noise of Times Sq. Easy walk to Central Park, 5th Ave shopping & Lexington Ave for food. Staff friendly & helpful. Maids & concierge were particularly obliging. Fridge didn't work so a new one was delivered. Ok, so timber on bottom […] of bathroom door was rotted, but we had a good online deal so it was excellent value for money. We stayed 5 nights and would definitely stay here again. Mehr

THE DOUBLE TWIN BED ROOM WAS TOO SMALL NOT AT ALL WOTH THE RATE. I WAS EXPECTING A BIGGER ROOM.

Stayed just one night, but they were gracious to allow an earlier check in. Room was fine, bed comfy, a little noisy with traffic and HVAC, but it's NYC. It is a higher priced hotel, but I felt very safe, it's convenient in locale, with access to trains/metro/cabs without a hitch, the services and attitude of staff are top notch - so as a female traveling […] alone, it's worth the expense. The hotel itself was great and in a wonderful location. Our room, however, was a little different. Our floor was undergoing construction so we had to walk on cardboard boxes from the elevator to our room. We would have appreciated knowing this when we booked. The room was quite nice but the bathroom in particular was very worn- the door was splintering […] and the tub etc in poor condition-thus the upgrading. The surrounding area was very nice and we would recommend it but perhaps ask the condition of your room and your floor when you book. Mehr
