The breakfast was ok for the kids. Most items were that were to be hot were warm or cold. The room was clean and nice. The maintenance persons needs to be fired. Furniture in the hallway was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Nice hotel, just needs some tender love and care. The pool was excellent. Staff was good to work with. I would probaly stay again, […] but i would look around for a better deal. Location is great and a safe area. Mehr

They never fixed the sink. They gym is a joke. The treadmill really doesn't work, no water in there and no free weights or place to stretch. One small room. Bathroom is dated. Breakfast was okay, but didn't start until 7 am. Good location if you are working with the West Convention only.

Excellent location - walking distance to convention center west pavilion. Large rooms, clean, however the common areas where dingy and somewhat rundown. Lots of marks/dirt on the walls, old carpet. It had a semi-rundown motel feel (greenish walls and carpet, dreary fluorescent lights in the bathroom). With some small changes to decor it could be much […] nicer. Mehr

Not bad....needs to be updated..good price!! The only real disappointment was the breakfast....Horrible both mornings.....I mean horrible and my family usually eats anything...just dont eat there!!

The hotel was a little dated in its decor and hadn't been renovated in a while, but it was clean. The suite we had had two good sized rooms and a bathroom. It also had a kitchenette with a two burner hot plate, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. Also there were dishes to use in the cabinets. It was walking distance to the Convention Center (long bridge […] over the interstate). A couple of small negatives; the bathroom was pretty dated and the sofa/bed wasn't overly comfortable to sit on. Overall though, value for the money was great and it was clean. The hotel staff was professional and accomodating. Room wass neat and clean. However, it would be nice if ice machines were available on other floors as well as the first floor. We will not hesitate to stay here again.

We reserved a one room suite at this hotel, and got a good deal by using the non-refundable rate. Everything was fine when we checked in. But when I went to check out, I was informed that I owed another few dollars a night for something called a "resort" fee. There was no mention of this when I reserved the room, nor when I checked into the room. Of […] course, even finding this out at check-in time would have been a problem -- it was a non-refundable rate; but it's absolutely unacceptable to have a surprise charge thrown in at check-out time. It seemed shifty and dishonest to me. The woman at the front desk was rude and dismissive. Altogether, an unpleasant experience. The suite itself was roomy -- an actual suite with a separate bedroom and living room and small kitchenette. However, there was only one AC unit (in the living room) so it was nearly impossible to get the bedroom cool enough -- and it wasn't even hot while we were there. Parts of the suite had been remodeled, so there were nice new touches, surrounded by old, dirty parts. For example, there was nice new tile in the bathroom, but the bathroom door was banged up, didn't shut all the way, and was covered with rust splotches. All the lamps, doorknobs, fixtures, etc., were old and worn. The lampshades were tattered and discolored. On the other hand, there was a granite countertop in the little kitchenette area. All in all, the room felt old and used, and a little dirty. We would not stay here again. Mehr

Good experience. Great value given that the hotel is a five minute walk from the Orlando Convention Center. Don't expect the Ritz at this price. Do expect a clean room and great front desk service which I got.

Not a bad location, but the hotel is outdated with dark halls, old furniture, not sparkly clean. If you are looking for a good rate, it's not a bad place to stay. I was definitely surprised this was a Wyndam hotel though. However, there's a great Persian and Italian place within walking distance.

I really appreciated the walking distance to SeaWorld - since parking at SeaWorld is $12 per day. the breakfast at the hotel was awful - the only thing really edible was the toast. The scrambled eggs were old and overly processed, the meats tasted very strange - the pancakes were bad - the orange juice was fake. So if you're going for the breakfast […] - dont. There is a Village Inn right down the road with descent breakfast. The hotel has 2 for 1 drinks and a beautiful pool. There was a surprise resort fee of $3 per day and a surprise $50 hold on my credit card for 'incidentals' . the room was nice and clean and had a fridge and microwave and coffee maker. Mehr

Kinda on the fence with this one... With the name, you would think that you would get a bit better hotel than we saw. Everything was on the "old" side - from the sea foam green painted room, beds/mattresses, hotel interior - it just plained looked like you stepped back in time about 15yrs. The vending machines wouldn't take bills, only coins as the […] bill parts were broken, drink vending machines empty - so you had to go all the way to the lobby (we were at the opposite end of the hotel) and use their little cubby 'store', which had prices on drinks, candy & chips about 7x the cost of what they would cost around the corner at the conveinience store.... The bathroom was boarderline as it had no fan so a hot shower meant that you steamed it solid with water running down the walls and the humidity showed by the amount of mold/mildew in the grout and corners of the walls. The room itself: Not entirely sure the sheets were 'fresh', but no stains and smelled neutral so maybe? The cleanliness was 'just enough', but dust was abundant on every surface other than the immediate surfaces like tables & chairs. It was a place to sleep for myself and two daughters 9 & 15 for about 10hrs, other than that, I would pay a bit more and stay around the corner at the Radison, Courtyard by Marriott or Hilton. I would not pick this hotel for a second time if I was going to Sea World. Mehr

The room is quite small, jammed bathroom too. Hot water is warm only during my stay. Location is great, very convenient and in a quiet neighborhood. Pool is clean, Breakfast is very good but crowded, would not recommend their coffee though. Overall, services is good, room is clean and fairly comfortable for the price..

We stayed at this place b/c it was the closest and cheapest that we could find close to the convention center and within walking distance. It wasn't really what we expected but it was clean and cheap, and I can pretty much stay anywhere as long as it's clean.

The hotel is not only close to Sea World but also centraly located with easy access to I-4, which connect the rest of the Orlando area attractions. For the price, is an execellent bargain. I would probably recoomend upgrading their TV's; ours was not flat and the colors were kind of fuzy. We also got a 10% at the Villiga Inn that's within waliking distance […] from the hotel. The pool area was very nice and had a bar. I will stay again. Mehr

The hotel has been recently renovated; however, in the room we had this trip, the bathroom was very outdated. Some areas of the suite had been improved and other areas had been overlooked. Also, this hotel is under new management.

The landscaping of this hotel is beautiful and we were surprised with the quality of service provided. A pipe broke in our room, leaving the floor soggy and wet, but someone came up to fix it and dry the floor immediately. Breakfast included a different variety each day. It was yummy and the seating area for the breakfast crowd extended onto their outdoor […] patio so we often ate outside and enjoyed the morning air. The pool was well maintained and almost empty during the day, which gave our children lots of space to enjoy the water. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we will go back again! Mehr

Hawthorn Suites Convention Center should be named Hawthorn Suites Sea World. If you have an event at the Convention Center, beware that you will still have to do a substantial amount of walking to get there, even if you take the shuttle to the center. Also, beware that the shuttle is NOT free to the Convention Center, and may run you as much as $3 per […] day. Our room was spacious, but had a lot of problems, which were eventually fixed during our stay. The HDTV would not pick up any channels. The TV remotes would not work. The toilet seat was broken, and the dishwasher was stuck closed. Again, all these problems were fixed during our stay. The bedroom in the suite was roomy, but had no air conditioning. The A/C in the living area was supposed to be pumped into the bedroom, but evidently was not working correctly because the bedroom got extremely hot during the night. It was nice to have a semi-full kitchen. That saved us a lot of money on fast food. However, if you're planning on doing a lot of cooking, bring your own pots and pans because there were only one small pan and one small pot in our room. The staff, maintenance and concierge were all very nice, quick to respond, and accommodating. The pool and outside hot tub are gorgeous. The pool bar is also very nice. The hot breakfast in the morning was absolutely excellent. All in all, it was a nice stay and I would stay again. Mehr

As far as location to Sea World it was great but the room was not great, the shower curtain had mold on the back of it, the walls had holes that was half way patched up, the T.V. remotes did not work, the room smelled of pee, to toilet had piss on it when we checked in, there was nut shells all over the floor, the beds were small and lumpy, the hotel […] did change the show curtain after i ask them to, but even after the room was cleaned for our next night stay it was still nasty, when i was about to check out they tried to charge me $10.00 a night for some kind of suit fee, which i thought was unfair and i complained (they did not charge me this in the long run), the management said the owners had spent millions repairing the hotel and my question was, are they waiting to do the room i stayed in last, will not stay there again and would not recommend to others, the price was way to high for what you get. The beds were comfortable and lots of pillows. Service was excellent. The location was great for going to Disney or the Convention Center. Will be back next year for the hair show.
