Best Western Plus Robert Treat Hotel - Newark

Wir warenhier für eine Woche, um uns New York an zusehen. Dafür ist dieses Hotels super geeignet. Der shuttleservice ist prima, das Frühstück für amerikanische Verhältnisse sehr gut, die Informationen der Servicekräfte beim Frühstück waren besser, als die von der Rezeption.

Wir haben die während einer Rundreise die ersten 3 Nachte und die letzte Nacht verbracht und können folgendes berichten. -Zustand des Hotels ist gut oder für drei Sterne in den USA typisch. -Parken kostenlos, was sich natürlich nur mit Mietwagen lohnt. -Frühstück war Amerikanisch (alles abgepackt und in Kunststoffbechern aber soweit gut da inkl. -Lage, […] nahe am Airport EWR und der Path (S-Bahn) gelegen. Daher kommt man selbst ohne Auto innerhalb von ca. 20 min nach Manhatten rein. Der Nachteil ist dass die Gegend Nachts nicht mehr so einladend wirkt und man schnell der einzige Weiße wird. Wir haben uns nie bedroht gefühlt aber gerade für Frauen ist die Gegend Nachts nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen. Kurz gesagt, Preis/Leistung stimmt und wenn man ein Hotel etwas auswärts sucht ist es auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Mehr

Im Hotel haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Tolles Zimmer, meist netter Service (die Rezeption könnte etwas freundlicher sein) Leider war uns die Umgebung nicht ganz geheuer. Aber wir haben den kostenlosen Shuttle zur U-Bahn benutzt und haben uns hauptsächlich in NY aufgehalten

Really good choice if you don't want to book a hotel in New York City but still see the city, reasonably priced, close to Newark Train Station.

In der Stadt gelegenes Hotel nahe Newark Flughafen, angenehme Atmosphäre, runfherum ein paar Geschaäfte und Restaurants. Hotel bietet kostenloses Shuttle zu Newark Airport und Newark Penn Station an. Von da kann man mit PATH oder NJTransit günstig nach New York fahren. Zum Bahnhof geht es aber auch in 5 bis 10 Minuten zu Fuss.

Das Hotel ist ideal gelegen um schnell nach New York zu kommen und dem Trubel der Stadt wenigstens zum Schlafen zu entkommen. Mit dem Shuttle ist man innerhalb weniger Minuten beim Path (Bahn), die 20 Min nach Manhattan braucht und wirklich preisgünstig ist. Die Zimmer sind gemütlich und komfortabel eingerichtet. Ein großer Flachbildschirm steht bereit, […] der neben der doch eher verziert, antiken Einrichtung hervorsticht. Desweiteren stehen Getränke als kleine Aufmerksamkeit des Hotels und ein geräumiges Bad zur Verfügung. Das Personal ist hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen. Mehr

Great location parking was a bit of a hassle, but it was free.

I thought the hotel was great for the price. Only problem was I arrived at 2am, and found out after I had collapsed in bed in pjamas that I could hear the elevator passing by my head all night. It sucked, and I was too tired to get dressed and go downstairs for a room change. I only had three hours before I had to be up at 5:30/6am for work, and I woke […] up feeling terrible. The Robert Treat is a good hotel: good breakfast (with good hours), good location, great front desk service. The only drawback was that the driver to and from the airport in their shuttle was easily confused about where to go/how many passengers he had.

this hotel really needs updating. it was fine for what I needed, but its age shows.

Location is convenient. Staff are friendly and helpful. But overall the hotel is deteriorating. The phone in our room was disconnected, hair dryer was broken, and WIFI was very slow.

This hotel was great value, everything first class at a very economical rate, staff friendly and helpful. The free car parking was a bonus, breakfast was a bit on the economy side ! but otherwise a very enjoyable experience. the music in lounge on Friday night a nice touch. I'd definitely would stay here again. I think it would be an option to consider […] if visiting NYC, less that half the rates in midtown.. Mehr

Got a non-smoking room, but it clearly had been smoked in. The heat didn't work, and the bedspread was dirty and stained when we arrived.

It's walking distance on the same block. A cab to the Iron Bound Section is only 7 by cab. The security is friendly. Make sure you ask for a room FAR away from the elevator, or all night you will hear it say " Going Down". This was my second stay & I learned that valuable lesson from my first stay. And I slept better for it.

bring your own water, hotel only provide 1 little bottle PER ROOM eventhough clearly indicate complementary. YOU MUST PAY THE EXTRA BOTTLE Be at the breakfast at 6:30 AM !!! because it supposed to run until 11:30 but the last slice of bread or frozen muffin bread ( that's only what they have ) ran out by 8:00 AM . Should not says offers CONTINENTAL […] BREAKFAST... very disappointed.. Don't ask too many questions to the Receptionist, she will get annoyed. !!! Should hire someone that smile at least since that person represents the image of the Hotel .. Just a thought ... Convenience is pretty good, just a few block to the Neward Peen Station Leave your car at the parking or else you will lose your spot !! Parking is not exclusive to the Hotel Guest !! Mehr

Hello, We stayed there for 3 nights and found the hotel very comfortable. It is a little bit away from new York but the train comes often and costs between 2 and 5 $. The shuttle from the train station would have been appreciated, especially at night, but with a 10 min walk it was not that bad. The rooms were clean and well maintained the breakfast […] was functional but you could get by on it for a few days. Overall a good kick for your buck if you don't want to pay a lot and still get a great service. Mehr

Great location, minutes to Penn station, if you travel to Manhattan. A very comfortable room, very clean, including the bathroom. The only inconvenience was that the shower/tub drain was clogged. By the time you finished your shower you were in ankle deep water.

Safe, convenient, clean. Could not have been happier.

Easy access from airport and train station. 20miuntes from downtown newyork. For business, it's good enough.

The room was small and cramped. I reserved 2 rooms and they were 6 floors apart. The mini refridgerator was sitting on the floor. The room look like something that was thrown together (tacky).

Best location and service. Be sure to take advantage of cultural and historical sites just short walks away.

Had a great time! Room was very relaxing and quiet. Look forward to staying there again in May. :-)

My family and I stayed here February 19, 2012 because of the proximity to what our plans entailed and the price that we got on hotels.com. When I checked in, the attendant told me that the rate I paid was for one bed not two although my reservation was for two beds. I pulled up the confirmation email an showed her and still had to get a manager to save […] the $25 she was trying to get me to pay extra. After that great first impression came the joy of the parking lot. It was incredibly tight and so few spaces in the actual hotel lot that we ended up parking two blocks away in their secondary lot. The neighborhood was pretty sketchy and I was not impressed with this. Inside of the hotel, there are only two elevators so be prepared to wait, especially if it's busy. Our entire floor reeked of rotten fish the whole time we were there, although thankfully our room didn't or we would have changed of course. The bed linens were old and had stains on them and the pillow smelled bad. Overall, I was very unhappy with the quality and service of this hotel. One bright spot was the free breakfast where the women working actually enjoyed their job clearly and made very one feel warm and welcome. I would not stay here ever again and would not recommend it to anyone either. Mehr

Though I wasn't thrilled with the neighborhood, the shuttle service was prompt and easy. Our ride to and from the aiport was very smooth and the drivers both ways were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has obviously been updated. We ordered room service and were happy with the food and service.

we were very pleased to have discovered this gem only three miles from Newark Liberty EWR served by a shuttle every 30 minutes. good restaurant to boot warm helpful staff. Secure. even has parking 4 US presidents have stayed there conference venue. business centre to print out boarding passses.

The rate was very reasonable since I booked ahead. I was very satisfied with the quality of the Best Western Robert Treat Hotel and it being in downtown Newark with easy access to Penn Station...in the heart of Newark, New Jersey.

The hotel stay was quite lovely, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was convenient to other outside attractions. The shuttle to the airport and bus depot was very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. Everything you needed was right there in the hotel.

We had a great stay and the staff were friendly especially the young ladies that were in the breakfast area. They were extremely helpful and friendly. The help us with information for getting around the area.

You literally have to sit sideways on the toilet seat as the distance is so small between the seat and the adjacent wall. Bed wasnt very comfortable either. Overall the facility is really old. It is clean and well maintained, but meets only the minimum standards. Good option if you are looking to save money and a place to sleep and dont care much about […] other things. Mehr

Hotel was in a great location.. A short walk to Penn Station. Close to all the must see sights. Security at Hotel was very visible. I would defenately recommend this hotel to my friends.

While i have stayed here several times, the room i received has varied. Same price from Hotels. com but significantly different rooms. this time the bed and sitting areas were fine but the bathroom was so small that toilet paper holder was mounted close to the seat and you could not use it comfortably..... a disappointment to say the least

The Shuttle took longer than expected to pick us up at the airport ... the Hotel is not that close. It's an older,but well maintained and clean establishment where the staff at the Reception desk is quite friendly. They have a fairly good restaurant which is also very pricey; try room service which offers some of the same items as the restaurant menu […] but are offered at a much cheaper price, which we only found out after dining at the restaurant. Trouble getting picked up from Newark airport. The neighborhood is convenient to Newark Penn Station but otherwise Downtown Newark is not the best neighborhood. The price is reasonable. If you have time to deal with the frustration of waiting for a pick-up and other inconveniences--the price is right.

Our rooms were right next to the elevator and we heard it all night long.
