Beautiful facility, nice restaurant, buffett, pool area, comfortable rooms. The hotel is very convenientally located to all local attractions. I was surprised that we had to pay for parking. I was honestly surprised by the decor in the classroom: very classy, modern, and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located close to the 8 and 163 freeways and is down the block from Mission Valley shopping center. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to others.

The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.

Location, location, location! This hotel is in the center of everything. You can visit two shopping malls within two miles of each other. Nice hotel, very nice staff. Greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies! Room was great and when they say they have in indoor heated pool, they have an indoor heated pool. This hotel was pretty great. It was less than 15 minutes to everywhere I wanted to be. It is close to the 163 and 8 freeways. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. The only thing I disliked was the bathroom door. The staff was very friendly, especially the bartender at the hotel bar. I would recommend this hotel to a friend and I would stay here […] again. P.S. Two things stand out of this hotel, location and room design. There are restaurants malls bars clubs you name it within walking or short drive distance. The rooms are also modern and new, i would recommend this hotel for younger crowds. BUT the one flaw is that they nickel and dime you, $20 to rent a fridge and $16/day for parking is outrageous. The hotel looked great online, and in person was beautiful. My wife even commented that it looked "kinda swanky." We found the hotel staff courteous and organized. The hotel is in a prime location near the interstates, but in a quiet neighborhood. It is only 10 minutes from Balboa Park, 10 minutes from Mission Beach, and is surrounded by any major […] food chain you'd like to visit. Also, there are sufficient mom & pop shops and even a grocery store if you need incidentals like pain reliever or cold meds. There is just one little hitch that I'm dealing with that I hope to have resolved soon. I did the "express checkout option" where they run all your incidental charges the night before you check out and if it looks good to you, you just leave. No need to waste time officially "checking out." This went fine, but two days after I checked out, I see pending charges from the hotel in the exact amount as my incidental charges that were charged by my express checkout process. I'm sure it's just a minor accounting glitch and hope to have it resolved soon. If it is, I will edit my review to reflect this. Mehr

It was ok. The room was clean enough and the bed OK but it had it's moments. Specifically the air filter or something must have been past due as anytime my wife and I were in our room for more than 5min, our sinuses would go crazy - once out of our room the situation would get better. I guess "by Hilton" is the issue. The Fess Parker Double Tree is […] a bit nicer - in the future tho we will be staying with Hyatt as we have been always happy with them in the past. the service was just fine they all did a good job and the hotel is in a convenient location. for the price paid though I would have expected some of the fit and finish in the bathroom and room itself to be a little more polished tho. We live only a few miles away from this hotel but wanted a quick get away from our teenage kids. This was a great location and great value for what we were looking for. I would stay here again.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The room was nice and big. The only draw back is that there was no refridgerator in the room.

I went down to San diego to go to a Chargers game. We stay here at the double tree with great service and convinence. They had a tram across the street to take us straight to the stadium. They also a great breakfast & lunch restuarant in the lodge.

2 of 3 elevators were not working, with very few posted alternatives, on a football bowl game weekend in a crowded hotel. The staff, however, were very friendly, and, while overworked, tried their best to make it a pleasant weekend. Valets are also bellmen and it takes them a long time to get your car - you could easily self-park and get your car faster […] without a problem. However, the valets were super friendly, working hard and running around for everyone. Hotel room comfort was great - clean, etc. and some great views on higher floors. Only thing I, personally, didn't like, is the sliding doors on the bathroom. Translucent glass on windows means that if light is on, light is on to all who are trying to sleep in the room. Mehr

Great Hotel. Great Stay. A little disappointed that you had to pay for parking even though there is plenty of parking around. Completely surprised that you had to pay for the INTERNET. Their business center charges you for printing and also for the internet. Even if you have your own computer they charge by the minute to use their WIFI. Stayed at the DoubleTree during New Years weekend and I have to say that my stay was excellent. I was surprised with the price for the busy weekend. The hotel is located in a great location to ride the train into downtown to explore the city. My boyfriend and I didn't want to leave and will hopefully be back in the very near future. Oh! Not a bad place, definitely better than the doubletree on hotel circle. Parking is a bit pricey at $19 per day valet. Thats San Diego for you. Clean, Quiet, Nice.

By far one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

We stayed at this hotel on the Executive Floor. The Room was awesome, king size bed was comfy, cookies were extremely tasty, breakfast and appetizer coupons were included (though we did not get to use them since we were out and about). We used the green line public transit into downtown which was right across the street. There are buses from the next […] stop (Fashion Valley Transit Center) that go all across the city too. It was a $25 cab ride to the airport and took only about 15 minutes in the morning. Highly recommend this hotel. Best value for money. Mehr

Doubletree Mission Valley is my choice for when I'm in San Diego. I prefer this place for its quiet location and excellent customer service. In addition, it's located next to a plaza that contains all my necessities: Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, and movie theaters to name a few. This hotel is in a great location--less than 1 mile from the mall, less than 200 feet from trolley station, and has several restaurants in the vicinity from which you can walk to/from. The hotel itself is beautiful and the room was very clean and comfortable. Of course, the cookies at the front desk are always a plus! Would def stay here again.

I was in San Diego for work and try to stay in decent hotels. Well, this was more than decent. I was very pleasantly greeted by the front desk guy and given a nice warm little cookie. When I got to my room i found it clean, comfortable and modern. The tub was even spotless. The only thing i would have liked was a little fridge to put my water for the […] next morning but some hotels just don't have them or else i didn't see the one that may have been there. Hotel room looked clean but there was a nail clipper on the floor in the bathroom that was there when we arrived which seemed to indicate that the floor was not thoroughly cleaned from the prior guests' stay and the nailclipper was still there when we left. The hotel DOES NOT have it's own parking lot so guests have to pay for parking. Based on how […] we had made our reservations, we had to check out and then check back in. The person at the front desk did not complete the transaction correctly so we had to redo the process and we were being questioned about whether or not we had taken care of it instead of apologizing for the inconvenience of having the re-register. The rooms at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego-Mission Valley are spacious, well decorated and very comfortable. I will definitely stay there again.

Great hotel, nice staff, wonderful street parking (great savings on parking!) perfect location for our needs. Our room was nice, and the hotels.com price was perfect!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a great location for the things we wanted to see. Our trip to San Diego was a perfect 10...don't forget to visit the mission and art museum!

I was there for business, but internet connection was terribly slow. I couldn't even open an email. I hope it was temporary, otherwise this is not a good hotel if you need the internet connection. everything else was what you expect from a Hilton family of hotels.
