The Westin Philadelphia - Philadelphia

This hotel is well-situated for sightseeing. We were meeting college friends for a reunion and visited many of the watering holes in the neighborhood. We ate dinner in a very nice Italian restaurant just a block away...all in all a good choice.

Very good service and nice room. Check in and check out were quick and easy. One suggestion: make the sign on the snack bar bigger/clearer as you can get charged for eating/drinking an item simply if it's moved around and kept off of the sensors for too long, even if you didn't consume!

Old charm meets modern century

I originally booked this hotel for the King suite (thinking that was the top room offered) but when I checked in, the clerk noticed it was my birthday (St. Patrick's day) from my ID and bumped me to their Presidential Suite at no additional charge! I lost out on a balcony but gained a luxury sauna, shower, etc! "Top of the morning to you" St Paddy's day after night at Muldoon Saloon Rittenhouse Square. All service personnel were courteous, competent and quick. 4/5 rating might bump to 5/5 if price including tax and parking was 4/5 or 80% of bill on busy night.

Though the service was wonderful, I can't help but wonder why the hotel costs as much as it does. The rooms were alright but my sink was leaking and the tub's floor seemed like it needed cleaning. I also don't like to be nickel and dimed which the hotel was surely guilty of. Having to pay for things that come standard in many other hotels these days […] (fridge, in-room wifi, etc.) is kind of baffling. Mehr

My first comment is regarding the hotel staff. From the time my wife and I approached the hotel until we checked out two later, we couldn't have asked for a friendlier, courteous, accomodating staff! We arrived at 1230 and thought we'd have to wait until 1530 to check in....WRONG! We were in our room five minutes after walking into the building thanks […] to the expedient service provider by Dorein. Not only did he help us settle quickly, he provided places of interest in the local area as well as suggestions on where to dine. He's an outstanding employee and should be recognized accordingly. This will be my place to stay when in Philadelphia and it should be yours too! Great service, a well appointed and comfortable room located ust off the upscale neighborhood of Rittenhouse Square.

Pretty much exactly what we wanted. We checked in at 3pm and didn't leave the room till 6pm.. We just had to nap in that big comfortable bed before setting out into the city. Checking out was hard because we didn't want to leave. Cons? I guess the expensive wifi. Expensive parking. Lack of white noise because the central air fan is really low.. but […] thats about it. The Westin is a great hotel in a great location, what makes it so great, the staff, they went out of their way to be friendly, helpful and informative. Hotel overall is very nice and what you expect from a Westin. Room was very clean and had nice amenities. Only negative was slow breakfast service, which is hard to overlook given the prices.

Gorgeous hotel, upbeat and kind staff. My only confusion comes from the lack of fridge/microwave in the rooms. There is a fridge stocked with beer and drinks but it is not to be used for personal storage. Otherwise, a dream stay

There could be cheaper parking accommodations for hotel guest.

Had a excellent stay at the Westin, room was clean, check in was simple and easy, check out was even faster. Would always stay here every time im in Philly

Good deal on a weekend rate; nice staff

My husband and I decided to head to Philadelphia for a kids-free weekend. I found The Westin's location is great because it is close to a lot of historic attractions. I do recommend, however, that after you arrive at the hotel, leave your car there and either walk or take a taxi. With all the one way streets and such, it is much easier to get around […] by taxi. The Westin staff was extremely nice and helpful, very personable without seeming fake or it being forced. They were helpful with whatever we asked and even had some great recommendations as to where to eat or visit. Check-in and check-out was very smooth and easy. The room was very comfortable and clean. The shower...great! The double showerhead was wonderful. My husband and I agree...any time we head to Philly, The Westin is the place for us! Mehr

The westin hotel was the best hotel I stay at every in my life...the ppl there was very friendly....!!!

The Westin in Philadelphia was exactly as advertised online. Good location, great services and good shopping. Parking was very difficult and costly. But in all it was a good stay. Be warned about parking before traveling.

Staff were first rate and so were accommodations. Walking distance to several fine restaurants and shops. Gerri, the concierge, is fantastic! Managed to get us a great table for special birthday dinner at local steakhouse on a busy Sat night. Also surprised us with comp bottle of wine. We'll stay there again next time in Philly.

Our stay was really good. The valet service was great, though a bit expensive, and the staff was very friendly. Our room was nice and had a very comfortable bed!!! The bartender downstairs at the bar was attentive and the food and drinks were delicious. The location is convenient to many shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere we needed to go. The […] concierge made a reservation for us at Devon Seafood Grill, although when we arrived, they had no record of it :( We stayed out quite late and upon return, there was what appeared to be a homeless man sleeping in a chair near the elevators, which has a security cam, but no human security. As we headed up to our room, there were about 4 other young adult visitors running back and forth through the halls, angry and cursing at each other. Our overnight experience was otherwise restfull. The only criticism I have really is that some security may be required on each floor to assure that anyone who is not a guest is not sleeping in the lobby or that if other guests are becoming loud and belligerent, they can be dealt with accordingly. Lovely modern hotel with all the standard Westin accomodations-- heavenly bed, etc...-- at a great price. Parking is an issue. Valet is $50/night or self-parking in garage next door is $36/night.

Stayed 1 night at the Westin in a king size bed room with city view. Very friendly and accommodating front desk. The beds were very comfy and the location was great. You have to take an elevator to get to the lobby then another elevator to get to your room. Parking was a bit expensive.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Phila. and within walking distance to almost everything. Shopping, museums, theater, restaurants, parks and nightlife. The service was excellent but the hotel is getting shabby and in need of renovations. Not up to Westin's usual standards.

Great location, close to attraction and really great prices. The rooms are clean, the lobby in the hotel is great and the staff are friendly. No regrets. downside...parking is gonna cost you.

This is a great hotel, just what we expected from a Westin hotel, clean, comfortable and very centrally located. There's underground parking that was a bit steep but convenient. But the hotel itself can't be beat! We'll be back.

We checked in @ 11:00 PM. There was nobody at the door to help with luggage. We had to carry 3 suitcases to the next floor to check in. Our first room had no water. We called the desk and were told there was water in the refrigerator. The refrigerator (and snack tray) were broken and empty. We changed rooms. Next room did not have a working clock or […] safe. My husband and I stayed at the Westin in December 2011. We had a great time and the hotel was really nice. The room was very beautiful and the staff were extremely nice and accommodating. My only complaint is that we did have a blood stain or 2 on our sheets which was really discusting but it was pretty small and the bed was huge so we just avoided […] it. The stay was enjoyable until an alarm sounded around 6am. The alarm and announcement lasted about 20 min. only saying an incident has occurred and not to use elevators nor stairs. Since we were awakened so early they could have at least let us know what was happening and if everything was ok.

Went here with my girlfriend this past weekend. The hotel staff was fantastic. Very welcoming and helpful when asking for things to do in the city. This also included the hotel cleaning maids, who were very kind. We also loved getting complimentary bathrobes for the duration of our stay The one thing that would have made the stay 5 stars was a more […] comftorable bed. I stayed here for one night, and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and check-in went smoothly. The room was comfortable, modern, and clean. It had a nice view of the surrounding city buildings. The bathroom/shower were great with a double shower head. Overall I had a great experience and would stay again.

Nice property. Ridiculous $47/day valet fee. Hallway rugs could use deep cleaning. Room was great, location is amazing, bonus Krispy Kreme next door!

The Westin is a very nice property - well situated in center city. If you take the train or cab it -you will hve no worriesor complains. however -if you have acar, be prepared for the outrageous parking fees ($35-$43 per night).
