Gut gelegenes Stadthotel im Hafen von Alicante. Wenn ich wieder nach Alicante komme, würde ich wieder dort übernachten.

Hotel wies während unseres einwöchigen Erholungsurlaubes im August eine angenehmen Wohlfühlcharakter auf, Zimmer wie das das ganze Hotel waren sauber, Frühstücksbuffet exzellent. Grosser Vorteil ist direkte Nähe zu Stadtstrand, Flaniermeile und Altstadt. Der kostenfreie w-Lan-Internetanschluss auf den Zimmern war jedoch extrem langsam, so dass man auf […] das kostenpflichtige Internet in der Hotellobby zurückgreifen musste. Ansonsten kann Hotel für Erholungskurzurlaub im Sommer uneingeschränkt weiter empfohlen werden. Mehr

Eher schwach, da renovationsbedürftig!

Für einen 2-tägigen Aufenthalt in Alicante, mit dem Ziel die Umgebung kennen zu lernen ideal, für einen 2-wöchigen Urlaub aus unserer Sicht absolut ungeeignet (kein Wohlfühlcharakter). Top Lage, direkt am Hafen von Alicante, jedoch ohne eigenen Strandabschnitt. Zimmer war angemessen gross, mit Seitenblick auf Meer, jedoch etwas älter und altbacken, […] die Betten mit Sprungfedermatrazen. Das Essen à la Carte war sehr teuer und unterirdisch. Es wurden zwar frischen Zutaten verwendet, die Bedienung war aufmerksam, das Ambiente recht gelungen, jedoch wurden keine Gewürze verwendet, die Capellini waren verkocht, das Fleisch tot gebraten. Ein Club-Sandwich (Room-Service Bar) besteht hier nur aus kaltem Toastbrot, etwas Salat auf der einen und etwas Tomate auf der anderen Seite. Dazu dünn geschnittenes Pouletfleisch und jede Menge Mayo. Statt Pommes werden Tüten-Chips serviert. Das kriegen alle anderen besser hin... Mehr

Great stay - good hotel, great location (right next to beach, the marina and within minutes walk of restaurants and brilliant tapas bars). Only downside for us was lack of air conditioning in the room. We arrived 20th April - evening temperature was 19 degrees plus - but hotel staff advised that aircon is centrally controlled and not switched on for […] another month. Not good for those not used to heat at night - had to leave the balcony window open to get some air. That aside would definitely consider going back. Mehr

Not quite a four star in our opinion. Renovations were taking place during our stay. Not very pleasant when laying poolside and construction men are using a jackhammer 5 meters from the loungers. This hotel is designed for business clients to the nearby conference centre. It's a little outside the centre but conveniently located to the Beniferri Metro (5 minutes walk) and the 62 or 63 bus which take you into the centre in less than 15 minutes. The rooms are very large - both the bedroom and the bathroom. The bedroom is carpeted with comfortable beds and contemporary furnishings including an armchair coffee table and working desk. Plenty of wardrobe space including an ironing board and iron. The kettle for making hot drinks was appreciated. The TV has Canal+ so plenty of free films. The bathroom has a bath and a separate walk-in shower and a separate toilet ! Everything was spotlessly clean and very quiet. Very satisfactory for the price if you don't mind not being in the city centre. On the negative side, the free gym is small and minimal with the swimming pool and sauna are costing an additional 15 euro. At the weekend, the breakfast buffet restaurant was crowded with families benefitiing from the cheaper rate and it was hard to get a table at peak times. Room service made up my room between 4-5pm each day which wasn't convenient when I was trying to work. The three bar staff seemed to be in a competition for the slowest service in the world. Mehr

Excellent hotel, perfectly located for all the attractions of Alicante. Clean, well maintained and a comprehensive breakfast.Do try and book a sea view room, they're quieter and the sound of the sea soothes you to sleep.

This is a super hotel for a mini break. On the beach, on the marina and two minutes from the city centre back steets for tapas.

Hotel is in a lovely location close to the harbour. However the hotel its self is expensive to buy drink food etc and there is a charge to hotel guest if they wish to use the gym and sauna. I found the drinks were a different price ( got charged 13euro for 2 vodkas no mixer) and when i questioned it i ended up paying 10euro!!! So WATCH OUY. Oh and i […] also had my moistureiser and mediciation disappear from or toilet- in which the cleaning lady must have throw out by accident as it was there before the room was cleaned. When i reported this i got no where not even a free drink or meal... Not one bit helpful. the hotel is clean with an average room. i wouldnt return Mehr

The hotel is between the marina and the beach with the Castle Santa Barbara rising above it. It's just a short stroll to the tapas bars of the Explanada or the seafood restaurants of the marina. The shopping centre is within walking distance. All rooms have a balcony with a view of either the marina or the sea/(unheated outdoor) swimming pool. Note […] that the marina views get the sun most of the afternoon and the sea side of the hotel is in shade for much of the day. Only the rooms on the upper floors have been refurbished. All rooms are very clean with decent sized rooms and bathrooms. The free wi-fi doesn't work so well on the upper floors and I had to ask for an ethernet cable. The gym and spa next door have a special rate for hotel guests. I've heard that the breakfast buffet offers an extensive choice but as I don't want to pay 20 euros, I take breakfast elsewhere. There are plenty of alternatives nearby. Overall, a very professional service...I'll be staying here regularly on business for the next few months.... Mehr

I visted Melia Alicante at holy week. Hotel was full, but everything worked fine, at least if you went to breakfast before 9.30! Breakfast was marvelous, service was exellent, staff was very nice and helpful. Room is average, palcony was small, but view to the sea was very nice. Location beside beach and old town is exellent. very well located hotel close to beautiful beach and marina. We chose a room with view of the marina as the receptionist said we would have sun all day, which we did,plus a fabulous view of the marina and the explanade. However what we didnt expect was the fabulous view we also had of the spanish groups of youths drinking in the street who all congregated […] below the hotel, to drink until well into the following morning. With our balcony doors open the noise levels were very high. With the doors closed the noise was less of a problem but the room was too warm, not alleviated by the aircon system which was blowing out warm air. This is a shame because the hotel has such a lot of positive points. I would recommend the hotel but would suggest booking a beach side room in the hope that revellers dont make their way around the corner. Mehr

The hotel was very clean and adequate but in need of a renovation. The boardwalk area was very loud all nit, til 6 am. I would not stay here again.

Staying in Melia for one weekend. I would recommend a seaview room. The rooms are clean, and the service very friendly, breakfast was served to the room at no cost, all the staff very friendly and accommodating.

Had a lovely city break and very happy with the choice of hotel. Requested a marina view so we had afternoon sun on the balcony and got this. Outstanding breakfast varied choice fresh orange squeezed juice , fabulous pastries proper coffee machine and an egg and pancake station. Well worth taking the inclusive option. Slight problem on bed layout as […] we had requested twin for one room. We lliked the rooms so mananged without changing. Enrol for a MAS card and you get late checkout. like others have said the pool area is not great, but we mananged to find somewhere in the sun. Good staff and friendly barman Mehr

This is our second stay here and it was fabulous. Last time stayed on The Level but this was just as good, with fabulous views over the beach.Reception staff very friendly and gave us a room that we requested. The fantastic location of this hotel,sandwiched between the marina and the mediterranean made for idyllic views. With the old town of Alicante on the doorstep the sightseeing options are endless. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and tastefully decorated in blue and yellow echoing the colours of the sand and sea view from the balcony. The hotel […] staff were friendly,efficient and helpful. A special mention is deserved for the housekeeper whose cheerful interest in us and our holiday made us feel very welcome. With everything from the castle, beach, boats, shops, bars and restaurants so close at hand the Melia Hotel is ideally situated. The bar food and room service menu was comprehensive and good quality. The breakfast was,however, a little expensive in my view,even accounting for the fabulous view. I understand that to heat the outdoor pool in winter would be expensive but I would like the hotel to consider heating the outdoor jacuzzi out of season. In conclusion, a lovely hotel staffed by lovely people and I look forward to returning. Mehr

Hotel Melia in the port of Alicante is HUGE! Absolutely the biggest I've seen. Everything about the hotel is good, but walking in the hallways and inside the rooms you could clearly see it is an old building and an old hotel. Some refurbishment to rooms and public spaces would help. Breakfast with the view to the beach and a smiling omelett-chef was […] superb, and sleeping in a room with balcony, listening to the sound of the sea and waves was even better. Highly recommended... Hotel Melia is in a great location to visit this small city. Plenty to see and do for a short break. Good restaurants within walking distance. Hotel was very welcoming and with great views from my balcony of the beach. Rooms are fairly basic compared to other Melia hotels of similar rating. Staff and breakfast very good.

Our visit was limited to a very short mini-break of just under 3 days, so every minute had to count! Our stay also coincided with my wife's birthday, so the complimentary bottle of local wine left in our room with a personalised note from hotel management was particularly appreciated. The Melia Alicante deserves an excellent overall rating. Friendly […] helpful staff - luckily their English was much better than our Spanish! We were allocated a wonderful suite with private double balcony overlooking the sea and beach. Comfort, cleanliness and general facilities could not be faulted. The Melia Alicante is in a first-class location adjacent to both beach and harbour, and within easy walking distance to the old part of town. It is very convenient for the hop-on Tour Bus, Tram and airport coach service all of which stop about 3 minutes away from Reception. There is a taxi rank outside the hotel. The optional buffet breakfast was really superb with a vast range of top-quality foods (hot and cold) to satisfy the most demanding international clientele. We did not get to sample the restauant and tapas bar facilities within the hotel, which looked very good but quite expensive. There is a wide variety of good quality restaurants, tapas bars and other eateries nearby so visitors will not be short of choice. Overall, a most enjoyable experience, and I would recommend the Melia Alicante to anyone as an ideal short-break destination. Mehr

Stayed in Melia in October. Weather lovely, hotel very nice. Stayed on the level. Long trek to our room so when booking would ask to be located near lift or lounge. Level was very nice , lovely little extras. We had breakfast down stairs and it was fantastic best I have seen. Great location overlooking the beach, fab.

the hotel is very well located close to marina, beach, old town, airport and train, tram and bus stations. Local restaurants are also very good.

The hotel is in a great position - right next to the town beach and the marina and very close to the old town, promenade and restaurants. We had a family room, which was effectively two rooms, and was very bright and spacious in comparison to other hotels we have used. Very comfy hotel. Breakfast was fantastic. The only gripe i would have is that the restaurant is not open until 8.30pm. It would be great if it was open from 7.00 pm onwards. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

I stayed in the Melia Hotel, while in Alicante to attend the Spain v Scotland football match. The hotel was also selected by the Spanish national team which added an additional buzz to the atmosphere but had the downside of meaning that the entrance was always full of fans and media. The hotel itself is a good well run and clean hotel, the staff were […] frendly and the service was good with the staff in the ground floor bar particularly good. The rooms themselves were large enough and comfortable but could do with a bit of a makeover as they were starting to look a bit old and tired. Breakfast was the usual buffet seletion and had both a wide range of food and was good qualty (although the introduction of some gluten free options would be good) The pool was a bit disappointing its location meant that it seen very little of the sun and meant that the pool was freezing. I stayed, along with a group of 8, recently, whilst in Alicante for the Spain -V- Scotland Football match, and a golf break. The Hotel is in a superb location, probably the best in Alicante, looking onto the Marina, and the nice beach to the rear. The staff were efficient and courteous, although were a bit dour. The reception area and bar etc were […] nice, modern, and clean. However, our room, which was a standard room, was dated and a bit basic, although perfectly okay for our stay. It was clean, as was the bathroom. Some others in our group were on another floor and the rooms were even more 'tired'. The Spanish Football Team were staying in the Hotel at the same time and I'm sure their Executive rooms must have been better ! A bottle of beer was 3.5 euros, which I thought was quite good for that type of Hotel and the location, and no more than you would pay in a bar in Scotland ! All in all, I would recommend the Hotel, although don't expect luxury if you book a standard room ! Mehr

Great location for shopping,restaurants and beach. Hotel is more for business orientated trips,hence the swimming pool is in the shade,food very good and staff helpful.If you're looking for a short stay in Alicante,then this is the place,trust me.

Very happy with the service, and location of this hotel. The hotel has the best ocean view ever, and the beach is right in front of your room.

Would recommend this hotel because of location. Walking distance from beach and all the sights and night life.

The hotel is in a prime location in Alicante - beach to one side and marina to the other side. Only downside is the pool size and the fact that it is in the shade. Having said that we never had a problem getting a sunlounger by the pool and in the sun. Didn't eat in the hotel at all so can't comment on food but the wine was good :)

Excellent location near the beach and restaurant zone, within an easy walk.. Excellent buffet breakfast and no problem with queing. Safe in room did not work. Poor light in room for reading. Hotel bar expensive, cocktails of mediocre quality.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at this hotel. The rooms are a good size, well-cleaned and equipped with all home comforts. Our room overlooked the marina side of the hotel and we had a lot to view from our balcony. The other side overlooks the beach and you feel as if you are at sea. The hotel is within walkning distance of all Alicante's bars […] and restaurants and handy tram line that goes along the coast to San Juan beaches (less crowded but waves rougher) The beach near the hotel is lovely: warm water, soft sand and lifeguards on parade. Alicante is lovely - brilliant castle, coloured fountain display in the square and a Spanish feel to everything. Mehr

Our room was on the marina side, overlooking the casino and galleon, close to where it all happens at night but there was no significant noise problem. Free in room safe. TV. Didn't try the breakfast or evening meals so can't comment. A shame that there are no tea/coffee making facilities […] in the room. Mehr

The hotel itself was nice apart from having to walk for miles internally, everything was hard work. Asking for towels, "go to the pool" upstairs, pool attendant " go to reception" downstairs, i was fed up with walking up and down. As for the reception staff, they don't have a clue about customer service, the girls were so rude, it was unbelievable, […] and we paid to stay at a 4 star hotel (what for). Mehr
